Hello, where am I able to find stock firmware that comes in a 4-pack flash using odin? Not one that you flash using one .tar file?
Sammobile for example uses 1 single .tar file for flashing using Odin, but I need the one where you can flash AP, CSC etc separately.
Thanks!

Hi,
what is the difference between 3-file firmware and 1-file firmware?
Which one is better?
Should I firstly install latest 3-file firmware and then latest 1-file firmware?

First both will act the same.No issue whether it is single file or three file.In single file FW(FirmWare) all the files like factoryfs.rfs,boot.bin,modem,kernel,cache.rfs(aka csc) are placed inside a single .tar file. You can extract it and check wats inside it.But keep the original file safetly.
Second in three file firmware the files like I said above are splited into three parts like Phone.tar,pda.tar,csc.tar.In it modem is placed seperately in one file, csc is placed separately in one file and others in another file.
So finally It doesnt depend whether you flash a three file firmware or a single file firmware.
Big thanks for your answer.
And what about repartition option in odin? Why is it only with 3-file firmware?

It doesn't depend on 3-file or 1-file firmware. It is used to repartition your internal sd and it should be used with pit file. You cannot always use pit files.Refer you rom instructions.Use repartition along with pit file only if it asks to do so.Using it in wrong way can make your device unbootable(though soft brick 99%).
Important thing is pit file should be used when using repartition.
Hi guys
need to return phone to stock O2 UK rom.
my internal sdcard is dead. but need to get rid of any root/flashing
found an O2 UK rom on samfirmware (I9000XWJVH_O2UJV3_BWJV2), but it only contains 1 file... jvh_jv3_jv2.tar
how do i flash 1 file with odin? im confused?
normally its pda, modem, csc, pit....
The same way you found the stock firmware.
go to the flashguide and download the guide for you're phone.
Flash the one file in the PDA option of Odin. If there is a pit file then flash with the pit file & repartition checked. If no pit file then flash with repartition unchecked.
If unsure find instructions on SamMobile as mentioned above.
ok cheers
it just confused me with 1 file.
Hi
I am having a little bit of trouble going back to stock. I currently run the latest cm10 nightly, which repartitions your phone, right? So i want to go back to stock, but am confused. I have a 803 pit file which i believe i need to flash. Now the firmware package i have (from sammobile.com, correct one for my region) is all one tar file. Does not contain files that odin can flash, so in which one (pda, boot, modem etc.) do i need to put that file? It contains a load of .bin and .rfs files. Also, reading this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=7152078#post7152078 it tells me not to flash the pit with the one package file i have, so what is the exact procedure?
Thanks in adavnce!
The package you have is the PDA if is only one don't insert a pit and don't tick repartition, only put the file In the pda

If you have one file .tar choose it on bootloader and select auto reboot and f.reset time.:good:
I have a faulty USB port, is it possible to flash the N950FXXS7DSH1 update using TWRP not ODIN it contains 5 tar.md5 files starts with BL and AP, CP HOME_CSC and CSC.
should I extract them and then rezip them? is there a way to flash this update anyway on TWRP?
