Hi all - I purchased and recommend...
Screen/Skin Skinomi TechSkin $13 Amz
Went on better than any screen skin I have ever used. It is not damage proof, but it is 'soft' and hasn't scratched so far - a fingernail will either glide or dig in and then kind of heal/settle out - so no long scratch like a hard skin would have. Very precise cut and cutouts.
Case/Boot Amzer AMZ94446 TPU Hybrid Skin Case Cover $15 Amz
Love it - feels good in my left hand, not too thick, bezel shows, protects screen, bezel, back and skin. Slight overhang / forward projection (1/8th) so screen does not touch upside down on table - also just covers screen lift area (bezel/glass joint) or skin edge so I'm not looking anymore.
Case/Sleeve Mivizu Nylon Sleeve $12 eB
Almost perfect - fits great, pocket is slim and tight, just for notes and such - not a keyboard cell phone or as in pics. (When open) top or UP is obvious, so novice will not pick up and dump tablet out if unzipped. Fits fine even with boot. Good full rubber bumper system inside for padding.
I'm rough on toys, this system takes care of everything except 'stiffness' protection (for being bent in a satchel or such) - but I can't stand a book style case where I have to hold an attached cover. I'll just have to pack it between books or such.
Sent Amzer pocket-flap style sleeve back - top too tight to go over N7 safely.
Hope that helps someone!
THS
Hi All,
I'm looking for a new case, I want it to fit my tight jeans front pocket (now I have the Wrapsol front and back SP on my N2 and the only downside is that the bezel is not protected).
I thought about the Mercury case or some slim bumper.
Any recommendation ?
Thanks
I would get the Boxwave bamboo case, i have it and it's good protection cause it has a lip that protrudes over the edges just enough to most likely protect your screen & scren protector and its like $7 us dollars

Your best option is Case-Mate Tough http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37884573&postcount=105
Thank you guys for the suggestions, but I'm looking for a real slim case, I know that it will be with the cost of the protection but for that I have the UAG. I looking for a case with the Mercury dimensions~ but maybe with higher quality.
There is no other alternative. The slimmest you can go is skin-like TPU case. It will not offer much of a protection, and I had Mercury before - sorry, but its a slippery, glittery case with hardly any lip protection. The *only* relatively slim case that will offer you a drop protection, and I mean to the point that it will survive occasional drop on a concrete or stone pavers its Tough. There are a lot of other cases that are kind of slim and will offer you a decent drop protection, better than Tough, but nothing I have seen that comes close to slimness of Tough (check out my review link in signature for reviews of all the popular cases and even face off comparison).
The title of your thread is "Slim lightweight case with maximum protection ?". I guess "maximum protection" is a subjective term. I don't think the Mercury case (or any TPU case) or a bumper case offers that. If you want slim + max protection, then I strongly recommend the Speck Candyshell. The Samsung Protective Cover + is also good combo of slim and protection.
I didn't make this video.
Have you seen this thread? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192013
Not sure about the protection as I just ordered mine today, but for $2.25 probably wouldn't hurt to try it out. Looks very, very slim in the pics. I also have the Speck Candyshell, very slim case. My only gripe about is the rubber around the lip is peeling and starting to look funky. It wasn't a cheap case, so I'm a little disappointed in that.

I completely agree. The rubber peeling on my case is minor and purely cosmetic (doesn't affect protection). It compliments all the scratches on the glossy black plastic to give the case a vintage look LOL. I got my case in December 2012.

Mine is in. I would consider the protection minimal, less than the Mercury, because the case is mostly open on both ends. I like the material, and it is slim. However it only offers scratch protection on the back of the case, no real drop protection.
i have to agree with vectron. the other two cases mentioned seem nice, but if you want quality, i would go with the Case-Mate Tough. Like vectron, I have many cases as well including the UAG, Tough, Mercury, Cruzerlite TPU (like the boxwave mentioned), Duzign Valor Slim, Elago Slim cases (black one is just like the $2.25 one mentioned), and the ITSkins Lava. The top 3 for protection in this order and feel are the 1) Casemate Tough (slim/protective) 2) UAG (slightly bulky (but skinnier than the rest of the cases out there like defender and commuter etc) with max protection)) 3) Duzign Valor (this case is only $6 and the feel is a soft matte/rubbery feel that is not slippery at all- the colors are amazing and I already dropped my phone on concrete with it from 4 feet- the case is smart- it has more than enough edge protection to protect the face and it protected my phone from any major damage- however, the downside is the top and bottom like all the slim cases (Elago, Spigen Ultra Thin, $2.25 case, etc) is that the top and bottom are not covered. My phone landed on the top unfortunately, and only a tiny scratch happened- the rest of the phone was unaffected and the case also was unaffected).
So, for every day use for a careful guy, Duzign is perfect- they also come in many different colors/feels. For every day use for a slightly clumsy person (I was wearing the wrong jacket with really open pockets when I dropped mine and was shaking my jacket up without realizing how big my pockets were and my phone jumped out, lol), I would go with the Case-Mate Tough- it's my current go to case at the moment. Finally, for a guy who just throws his phone onto the table or doesn't care if it falls down from time to time, the UAG is the best. That thing is beautiful and a beast- I have the white one and my Note 2 is white.
Here's a link for all the Duzign cases- they even have a leather one now: http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_n...duzign&ie=UTF8&qid=1363965798&rnid=2941120011
here are my pics of all my cases so you can compare:
Top Row (Left to Right): Custom Case-Mate Tough, Custom Case-Mate Tough, Case-Mate Tough (original- my current fav), Mercury TPU, Cimo TPU, Cruzerlite TPU
Bottom Row (Left to Right): UAG Navigator, Elago Slim, Elago Slim, Duzign Valor, Duzign Valor
There's a case called six abundant. I'm using it. It's kind of like the rearth slim case but it offers more eprotection especially for the top and bottom bezel. It was only $10.

This is very helpful information. Thank you :good:
How are the Tough dimensions compare to the Mercury TPU case (It seems like they are the same except from the thickness ) ?

You're very welcome. The Mercury is very similar in dimensions to the Tough. However the Mercury doesn't protect very well on the edges around the front nor does it line up perfectly like the Tough.
I want a very thin case/shell (not a TPU) that protects also the bottom chrome part

They also list the Casemate pop... very similar to the incepio, except it has a kick stand...
This isn't a review. Just a first impression/initial thoughts.
I handle otterbox cases of all variety everyday. This unicorn beetle feels just as good, quality wise. Its mostly comparable to the defender series however. Both have built in screen protection, port covers. Both utilize a tongue in groove like method of securing the plastic 'inner' to the rugged rubber 'outer'
Overall it feels very secure and robust, but not quite as bulky as a defender in my opinion.
The orzly glass screen protector on my g4 (edge to edge) does not interfere with the 'front' cover of the case. I have removed the built in plastic protector, so i cannot comment on how it feels etc.
I should also note that i have the plastic back on while in this case. I have not and will not attempt installation with the leather back. This case seems to meet and exceed my needs for when rugged protection is required. My typical day to day is case-less, alternating between plastic and leather backs.
The holster seems to be robust. Made with thick plastic and a 360 degree rotating belt clasp. Almost identical to the defenders holster.
Please excuse the purple tint from my m7 camera.
Do you feel like the holster would snap eventually? How did you remove the screen protector? The screen protector is a major drawback to me.
The holster feels very sturdy. However it is plastic after all and im sure it will break under certain conditions. Im at work right now so ill take some photos of the defender series holster for the g3 and post a comparison in this thread later in the evening. The screen protector was attached to the 'front' with an adhesive. It was easy to pop it out. As i mentioned in my original post, my edge to edge tempered glass protector does not interfere with the fitment of this case.
I removed the screen cover the case had built in, and all I did was push it out and pull on it. The glue used is like a double sided tape, so get as much off when removing the screen and peel the rest. DO NOT USE GOO OFF, you'll mess up the case, trust me. Removing the sticky residue is the hardest part honestly.
