A wrong check mark leads to a disaster, although i've installed custom ROMs on so many devices I've tried to make a downgrade to Android 4.2 via flashtool, now my Xperia Tablet is simlocked.
With the PC Companion it's no problem to revive the device, but the simlock is still there.
I've tried to find a solution since 2 days, has anybody an idea? I would be grateful for your help!!
Sony Xperia Tablet SPG321, 16 GB
Andoid 4.2.2, build 10.3.1.A.2.67 (original)
Android 5.1.1, build 10.7.A.0.228 (after restoring)

edit:
perhaps a problem with the boolader, the BL is locked now. After entering the service-code i see that (for unlocked phones):
[] Network 0
[] Network subset 0
[] Service provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0
Trying to unlook BL fails with error message: "Failed. Command not allowed"
@schnombs
Try restoring your TA backup. You do have one don't you? Yes, of course you do. Root the device first.

My SIM lock menu is appears like this. What does this means, what is the point of locking the sim (Anyway now also i can use any sim)
[] Network 0
[] Network subset 0
[] Service provider 0
[] Corporate 0
[] SIM 0
My phone is brand new phone.I never try to unlock it.
If this means my phone seem is locked how i can unlock it.(I had a problem when i try to unlock my boot loader through flash tool as it says "Your phone boot loader cannot be officially unlocked". where as i have got the official unlock code from Sony web site.
Is this thing will prevent me from installing new ROM (I was keen to install CM Rom when they release a one for SP)
I think you've got to pay someone to unlock your phone/buy an unlock code - after that Sony's code will work.
SIM Lock
Why we have pay more after we buy a brand new phone, If we purchase a phone we should be able to do what ever thing we want to do the phone.
I'm really sorry i cant understand why we should pay more to unlock.
This mean i can not unlock my boot loader or root the phone with unlocking the SIM. Sony is real bull****.I will never go to Sony again.
But it doesn't ask me for a unlock code when we insert a another sim.(I can use what ever sim now also so i feel it is not sim locked)

that sim lock menu shows that the phone is not locked to any network. So its an unlocked sim free phone you have there.
Sim lock and bootloader locked are two different things.
In the service menu, if you go to 'configuration', under 'rooting status: Bootloader unlock allowed:' what does it show? if yes, you can unlock it by heading to http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/

You can root the phone (if a root method exists - not sure if there is one for the SP yet) even if the bootloader unlock is a 'No'.
Yes, it doesnt ask for the unlock code as it is already unlocked from a network or it was sim free.

How can we know? This is xsp forum not the tipo forum
Hello guys.
I got my hands on my SONY XPERIA Z 2 weeks ago. Then I updated it to the Jelly Bean 4.2.2 immediately.
3 days ago, I got the 2.67 update. Next up, I decided to root my device. So I googled "XPERIA Z C6602 10.3.A.2.67 root".
I don't know what the number was, but the last 4 digits were 2.67, the latest update actually.
In time, I noticed that I had to unlock the boot loader first.
So I d/l'ed the Minimal Fastboot & Adb from the XDA and had gotten my Key through the SONY UNLOCK BOOTLOADER service.
I ran the minimal fastboot & adb then unlocked the phone. I ended up a data-wiped XZ after the operation as the 13-page application menu had gone and a 3-page one remained from stock XZ Jelly Bean firmware. That was normal actually, but the thing is that I ran the UBL operation on my smartphone solely to ensure that I have a BL unlocked smarty.
What I got after the second time unlocking was, um, SONY & XPERIA splash screen and then multiple reboots. Thus, I did some googling and noticed how to switch off the unit, using VOL+ & Power method. Now every time I boot it up, it keeps rebooting over & over.
As you all know, I cannot update/repair it through SUS or PC Companion as it's BL unlocked & EMMA is unavailable in my area.
I couldn't find a 4.2.2 C6602 Stock FTF but a 4.1.2 FTF to use with my XZ. I have to use Androxyde Flashtool.
Will this kind of downgrade kill my BLU'ed smartphone or can anyone help me out uploading the C6602 4.2.2 Global Generic FTF stock firmware or a link? Are there any other ways to relieve my phone?
Any kind of help would be greatly appreciated.
Additionaly, I've seen guys having the same problem because of other reasons, say, turning Airplane mode on.

i know it's too late, but you don't need to have an unlocked BL to get root. And i hope you did a TA-backup, so that your drm keys aren't lost forever.
Downgrading won't harm your device.
If you want to get the latest fw follow this :

So, my phone is rooted using towelroot and the boot loader is locked and its unlockable. So I want to know my carrier provider and I want know if I can unlock the boot loader.
Hi
I will have your thread moved to your device section.
Good luck!
Hi guys.. I'm not a newb when it comes to rooting and unlocking bootloaders, flashing roms, kernels, and stuff like that... but....
I have a D5833 Z3 Compact: Marshmallow 6.0.1: Build: 23.5.A.1.291. It's a Telstra branded Australian device.
I have confirmed it is bootloader unlock allowed - Yes.
I have Android Studio.
Google USB Drivers.
Up-to-date Sony Z3 compact driver.
I open up fastboot folder in CMD.
While phone is on CMD fastboot recongizes my device when I type "adb devices"
I then type "adb reboot bootloader".
I then type the official sony given command and codes to unlock my bootloader.
Then it says "waiting for any device".
I've read around and found a command "adb shell getprop".
And have found out;
ro.adb.secure: =[1]
ro.debuggable: = [0]
I've read that these numeric values need to be reversed but how?
What does this mean for me next??? Can I end up unlocking my bootloader? What should I try next?
Hi all,
I recently unlocked the bootloader of my old Sony Xperia XZ2, which I bought from my mobile carrier in Peru, following the steps in the Sony Developer World page. It worked as expected, the bootloader was unlocked. However, when I installed another ROM to have Android 10, I saw the annoying message others have reported (here and here), "Your device software can't be checked for corruption. Please lock the bootloader".
I have read that the DRM keys should be backed up before doing this process, which are related to the Sony features, I don't care about losing those at this point. Is there a way to relock the bootloader again?
I already tried fastboot oem lock and fastboot flashing lock with no avail, the message returned is FAILED (remote: unknown command).
Flashtool BLU option doesn't work either. When trying to run it, it shows the message "ERROR - Cannot invoke "String.split(String)" because the return value of "java.util.Properties.getProperty(String)" is null", which leads me to think it's trying to read a string from somewhere but it doesn't exist.
I've already flashed the original stock ROM from my carrier but all the commands I tried above return the same failure.
I've also found this tutorial that applies for the Xperia XZ1 Compact and says that unlocking the bootloader is not a reversible process. Is that true for the Xperia XZ2 as well?
Thank you very much for your help on this.
Best regards,
Jorge
