Waterproof Case? - Galaxy Note5 Accessories

I loved my lifeproof for my Galaxy s4, I know they dont have a case for the note 5 but are there any other companies who make a good waterproof case?

I think Ghostek makes the highest-rated waterproof one for the Note 5. Supcase makes a resistant one, but I've seen mixed reviews about how effective it is.

Ghostek 2.0, check Amazon. It's got decent reviews.

Had a ghostek for my note 4. Can't say "test for waterproof" enough times.

I have the Ghostek 2.0 for my Note 5. It's slim, adds a bit of weight, not very grippy... I recommend using the provided lanyard. I dropped mine and it landed just right and bent/ripped some of the film on the back cover. They replaced the whole case for free; didn't even need the old/damaged one back. It's definitely the best case I've owned. Never tested the waterproof-ness.

I'm going to Miami soon so ordered this case. Defai tly gonna test it out before I go but I got high hopes for it. http://m.ebay.com/itm/252081334034

So I got it. Tested with paper towel, passed with flying colors. Small problem though is its much hard to type under water but possbile

Well when I take caseless note 5 and note 3 together that's how much thicker it is

Looks weird does it feels bulky as it sees?

Hi, How good is this case? Also were you able to access all buttons, Fingerprint scanner, and S-pen?

Yes, but screen is less sensitivity, and barely senstive under water. I dont use finger print scanner, the s pen is accessable like the charger port. They are sealed with 2 rubber things that you can pull out if need be, but once you pull them out, be sure to put back because its and opening for water

I thought about getting this ghostek atomic waterproof 2.0 case. Im getting bored of my spigen slim armor case.

It says it is and i wattertested the case prior to putting the phone in but don't have the balls to test it with the phone in it! The case is for a "what if" situation only for me

Case or no case

So what are your thoughts, will you use a case with your NS? I have been using a HTC Desire without a case and not a single scratch on it (touch wood), but it also utilizes more scratch resistant materials.
Well I think we should base it off of how the current Galaxy S phones do without a case on the back. I do not want a case, but if the back is going to scratch easily, then I would consider it.
I hope it comes with a neoprene pouch like the original Nexus One does...
Based on the unboxing videos the Nexus S does not come with any pouch.
Best buy just listed the accessories they will have available on launch day. Not very impressive at all, mostly generic looking accessories.

Bummer about no pouch. Luckily I have one
Soft silicone/gel case is at least, which can absorb some impact when dropping and save your phone.

Holy crap, those are the worse cases I've ever seen!
And this: http://mobileaccessories.bestbuy.com/smartphone-experts-desktop-stand/5A100A6285.htm
Are you f'ing serious? You don't deserve to buy a Nexus S if you buy that thing.
almost all of those are just generic cases that will fit any smartphone. Probably gonna be a couple months until we see specific nexus s cases.
Anyway, for me i'm going to be getting an invisible shield for the front and a zagg skin for the back in a little custom design by me.
I'm going to use a Case-mate Barely There case without screen protector (in order to protect the back cover from scratches when I lean it on a table etc., for a better grip and for a minimal drop protection without being bulky) and a Mofi pouch (to protect the screen and the camera lens when I put it in my pocket).
Well... if they'll release such products for the Nexus S (but I do think so).

Case-Mate will release products for certain phones if there is a demand. There was a poll for the Vibrant and got about 400+ votes I think. Case-Mate ended up making cases for the phone. So it's still possible.
I just want a nice aluminum case to make it feel more substantial.

Case-mate Barely There ftw! had one for my N1 and sticker bombed it, all awesome
When I was using feature phones I went threw them at a rate of 3ish a year. Since the original iPhones release? I havent had a single issue with smartphones....but I suck at being nice, so I'm really really careful. I am not planning to grab a case (despite the fact that BB put one in my bag and charged me for it without asking) for my NS. The thing is plastic as hell. I have like 20 bowls that have been through my dishwasher at stupid temperatures and had no issues. Im not worried.

The Pop! case (iPhone version: http://www.case-mate.com/iPhone-4-Cases/Case-Mate-iPhone-4-Pop-Cases.asp) would also be nice if you want more protection. Seems like it's the successor of the Tough case.

not sure if you knew this already, but i check the gelaskins site every couple days, and today i see that they put up a link for the Nexus S, if you go to gelaskins.com and browse under phones, there's a Nexus S dry link... could be a sign of things to come
This phone is a scratch magnet cause theres no soft touch or anything on it so as nice as it is without a case it needs one

anyone seen a case like this?

saw this when browsing cases for my wifes s3. Does anyone know of a case like this for the Note 2 that isn't insanely expensive? Main part is the lip that comes up a decent amount above the screen to protect the screen when the phone hits the floor.

I feel the same way. I'm nervous about dropping my device. The note 2 was actually a gift from my partner, hehe. So I want to take extra good care of it. I even wanted to buy the Otterbox Defender case which would make it a tank. I had that case for my iPhone 3G and it turned it into a tank / brick. So I'm going to stay away from it.
I did buy the Seidio Active Case for my Note 1, and it was a GREAT case. I loved it! It made it thicker, but it wasn't that bad. So I'd suggest a case like that. I wouldn't the Case Mate pop case either, but it's not out yet. Or I'm waiting for the Speck Pixel HD Case. That will make my day! I loved that case so much on my iPhone 4. Great protection, great design. Great case. Until then, I'm going to keep using the original cases and the cheapo cases.
Anyways, good luck! Share your findings / or review your cases I am kind of a case freak. I love cases! :$

Yeah.... I'm in Europe No AT&T in Spain.
I think AT&T got an exclusive perhaps? I mean, why else would Case-Mate NOT want to put it up on their website and sell 100 times more across the globe?

This is pretty close and comes with a kickstand. The only thing I do not like is the hard shell is 2 piece and might be a pain to remove once you install it. The softshell just stretch over the hard shell. Looks like an otterbox defender with raise screen lip.

I will try to post some useful info but I DO NOT have my note 2 yet, it is coming tomorrow.
Here goes to a half-assed review
1) The TOP CORNERS are not protected at all. They are protected by the somewhat thin, soft, flexible material and not protected by at least the outer plastic part like on the bottom and that's a problem. I am guessing corners should be protected the most because that is what causes the screen to crack(unless it faceplants)
2) I am NOT SURE about the how trustworthy the lip is because I NEVER had a case on a smartphone and my samsung vibrant was like an unbreakable brick. From my experience of looking at products through videos, pictures, etc. the lip does not seem like it will bring enough protection for a faceplant.
Unfortunately, I will ask for a refund.
P.S. The shipping part was very fast, the only thing that will make this seller a 6/5 would be if I get a refund
Hope this helps some of you out in your decision

stay away from the dual layer "mesh" like ones on that link. really CRAP
the other ones the fishbone style ones are actually shockingly nice considering how cheap they are. they are NOT easy to take apart again without breaking (slow careful and once you pop the joint use a thumbtack to pop each successive joint)
but they are surprisingly nice.
you can get a case ology case like the one you posted for the Note II I am still waiting for case ology to get on the ball and make the impact case (with the 2 arcs on the back) that I like and use on all my phones when possible.
I also got a Jelly Tank case from korea. its a one piece hybrid but VERY protective. not "as" protective of the screen as I would like but so far very impressed with it.
I got these because of the good protection on the corners and front:

Got the "Hybrid" case from ebay and it sucks. Inside hard shell is doesn't fit so the phone moves around a creaks. Hard to use the buttons and makes it too think. I think I migh try the Ionic Guardian case next.

Best Protective Case for the Note 2?

After searching the threads and being horrified by pictures of smashed screens, I don't think I will take my Note 2 out until I get a protective case! It recently arrived and being so used to my HTC phone which I have dropped many times and has survived falling from my lap as I get out of the car, flying out of my bag and so on, I don't think I can take this risk at all with the Note 2. A little scared it is so fragile but I am wondering if those who have had the phone for much longer have found the best way to protect the phone. I guess the days of walking down the street checking my messages are over for now (plus being afraid someone will take it from me!).
I don't mind flipcases (especially as it covers the front) but most of the cases I have seen so far only cover the back but this doesn't protect the screen, so looking for something that will protect it all round.
I had been sporting a naked note 2 until a couple days ago, but after it slipped out of my pocket while I opened the door of a moving car going 15mph (only resulting some chips on a few of the corners thank god haha) I had to get a case. I read lots of reviews and decided to get the black UAG case and I love it. I like the way the phone feels in my hand with it and it feels very protected. There are cases that are more protective but they add more bulk, this doesn't mean that the UAG won't protective because to me this thing still feels like fort Knox in my hand with it hah

Wow a lot of reviews, thank you for that.
I guess I wanted extra protection for the front (when not in use) so the UAG is on hold. Went for the cheap flipcase in stead.
I have been using the Otterbox Defender for a couple of months and love it. Since I have dropped and had to replace two phones, I need the heavy duty protection. It's got a built in screen protector that covers the screen like a window. I like the fact that it makes the phone bulky, easier to hold.
Otterbox
I didn't want to give in to the Otterbox. But after I dropped my Note and scratching the S Pen, I did. I absolutely love it and it's by far the best case I've ever had. I even got one for my daughter's RAZR. She loves it also.
I've had my phone for a few days now and have really got used to the feel of it (light and smooth) but I know I shouldn't risk it. I don't really like the look of the bulky cases, and since I am a girl I want something more girly I guess, but I've gone ahead and ordered a cheap flipcase that was reviewed on this forum. Will see how that one goes for now and will upgrade as I find something for me.

I swear by the uag cases. I've dropped my phone down concrete stairs while it's (thankfully) been in a uag and there was not a single scratch to be seen as a result of the experience. The Otterbox is just too cumbersome especially if you are like me and often switch out the batteries.

I have the Otterbox, which I absolutely love, but it feels like the size of the phone doubles when I have it on my phone. I found another case manufactured by Seidio. It's the Seidio KONVERT combo and it has a hard outer case that goes on the phone and another rubber case that covers the hard case and is braced by a skeleton type covering. It sounds like it would be bigger than the OtterBox, but it actually isn't. THe phone looks and feels slimmer and it looks more elegant, where the OtterBox gives the phone a more ruggedized look. As far as protection, I am deployed and have dropped my phone a couple times and I haven't had any issues with it at all. Plus, you can take the rubber outer shell off and still have an good-looking inner case as well. Highly recommend it, as well as the OtterBox.

Verus Leather Wallet Diary Case

Hey all,
I just got my Note 5 recently but have yet to get a case because I'm undecided! I've been looking at wallet style cases but the ones I've seen online for the most part look like cheap flimsy pleather and I'm not a fan.. However I came across this:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/Verus-Genuin...62049429657?var=&hash=item3d035cf899#shpCntId
Looks real nice, but I cannot for the life of my find a review online in any format about it. Does anyone have this case by chance or have any experience with it (maybe from other phone models)? I'd like some feedback before spending the cash on it.
Thanks.

It does look good but given that many of those folio/wallet cases feature magnets, I would ask the seller if the case has hidden magnets that may hamper SPen functions.

the case is great. great quality good protection. the only con is the magnet. even with the magnet i still have bought 2 of them for my note 4 and 5. eventually it will make a spot on the screen where the pen doesnt work. sorry i just checked the actual link. so this one doesnt look like it has the magnet. mine is the one with it. i can see there being an issue with keeping it closed without a magnet. i have 5 cards in mine and the magnet is needed.

I asked the seller before buying and he said there are no magnets. Hope that's true because it's one of the reasons I don't buy wallet cases usually. That and it adds bulk.
It looks nice but those pocket not so. Is there any leather case out there without the pocket on the left? I think magnet is a good idea to keep the cover close in a drop.

Wondering if anyone is using, or knows, which bumper cases are good for the Note 8. I was considering going with Rhino Shield (here https://rhinoshield.io/products/samsung-galaxy-note-8-bumper-case?variant=37367332289 , but not sure after reading the reviews. Wanted to see what you guys are using and your thoughts on them.

I got that for my wifes S8. its cool, she dropped it a couple of times no marks. I also got the liquid screen protector which is awesome. For my note I got the speigan case tough armor they have a couple of other options but, I went with this one.
Hope this helps

Well I got it and do like it. It is not rubbery as I thought it would be, it is smooth plastic and is a bit slick but does improve on the grip of the Note quite a bit. I may add a thin strip of electrical tape to the sides.
Went on with no trouble but nice and snug. Buttons are actually easier for me to use with the case on then bare. Bottom port holes are pretty deep so may have an issue with some connectors - a right angle headphone jack might have trouble.
It appears that it will offer good protection from drops but nothing for screen scratches so I put on a screen protector as well,
.
several good reviews in the general/generic note 8 forum.

Its nice but i will say that it is a lot more difficult to get the S-Pen out with the case on. I suspect it would be that way with any case though.
