I felt that some up closer objects made my head hurt, so out of curiosity, I closed my left eye then my right eye. I expected them to line up on the horizontal axis, but they were offset vertically by a significant amount.. many times it was 45 degrees and closer to vertical.
Keep in mind you have to make sure your head is absolutely level, and if there is anything in the background that isn't exactly aligned, your brain will be comparing the foreground object to that. You can try this out in real life.
From some tests in the home screen it felt offset, but I'm going to take a break from the gearvr and try it again. Again you have to make sure your head is aligned with the home screen orientation (e.g. hold back and select reorient, then try this test without tilting your head anyway except up/down).
edit: after some more testing, it seems like sometimes it is calibrated well, if I take the phone out and re-insert it, the stereo alignment is a lot better. But it took several times of re-inserting to get a good one. 3/5 times it's bad for me.
Also, does anyone else's not say charger connected anymore when connecting it?

Been very happy with the Kaiser so far, including on the GPS front ;-) but I'm getting slightly annoyed by two hardware nits :
1. wobbly : in portrait mode when I tap on the screen the right side tends to "hit" the keyboard part underneath and looking closely it's easy to understand why, there is a tiny gap between the two parts, likely for the slide/tilt mechanism
2. sloped : when I pull out the keyboard, the right side of the screen goes out more than the left side so it is slightly sloped. It improved a bit when folding the screen. Again I think this is a constraint of the slide/tilt mechanism
I'm thinking it's a general quirk because I had to change my first model (stuck key) and it had the same problems.
Anyone else noticed that ?
in portrait mode my kaiser seems to be spaced the same all the way around and doesnt push on the keyboard when tapping the screen. I do notice what you mean by the keyboard appearing to be farther out on the right side but after taking a closer look it just seems that way because of the face plate not being uniform all the way down (part where it flares out on the left side). Mine is exactly pushed out on both sides.

Mine's the same as this. It sounds like yours may not be quite right and I'd consider getting a replacement. Of course, if you can live with it, and the functionality is all there then it's entirely up to you.
For the sloping I've had two and they were both the same, so it's probably a design constraint, no biggie.
For the "wobbling", it comes and goes, I can only really feel the "knocks" when I hold the left side tight and tap on the scroll bar on the right, again, no biggie.
solution
iv had the same problem of one end sticking out,
iv gone around it by inserting some tiny smugged paper into the sliding slots at the back, resolves the issue quite well.
I don't seem to have either problem (TyTN II version).
On my ATT Tilt when ever I close the sliding screen now it does not line up properly. The screen sites a few millimeters to the right of where it should. I called ATT and they said that Slide issues aren't covered under warranty. Anyone else having a similar issue?
No problems here, although keyboard sliding is a bit easier to move since the day I bought it and it sometimes moves when I don't expect it to...
Yeah it def slides easier, but it doesn't line up properly.
I've dropped mine many times (only onto carpets so far, happily) and on occasion have found the top half of the phone slightly misaligned with the rest - resulting in a lip at the top, bottom, or right hand side. I've found that with a little gentle but firm nudge the other way, it usually fits back into place. I think there's a little movement designed into the whole thing, to allow it to take repeated sliding and the odd knock without the stress damaging anything.
Recently, I noticed the is a strange circle in the middle of the screen. When the screen backlight is off, it appears as a black circle. When the screen backlight is on, it appears as red/yellow/black ring. Somtimes it went away by itself, and other time I have to "wipe" it away with finger force.
Anyone know what is wrong?
2 questions
1) Have you tried removing the screen protection just to see whether its on the screen protection or on the main lcd screen
2) did you ever exposed lcd it to high electromagnetic waves??
1. I didn't remove the screen protector as I believe it's beneath the LCD film.
2. I don't think it has been exposed to any electromagnetic waves, as it appears after I pulled it out from my pocket.
I've had it too but it's gone now
I had the exact same problem a few weeks ago. The place I stayed was not well ventilated and I THINK it caused some water condensation to occur between the digitizer and lcd screen. I slept in an air-conditioned room the next day and it was gone!
My deduction is that you need a cool or cold environment for the stain to evaporate.
The same problem arises again, and this time it has been a couple days but it still did not go away.
It looks almost like a burn mark.
You may have a defective digitizer.
Found another thread talking about this:

This is the so-called 'Newton ring' in optics/Physics. It means that in that area, the thickness of LCD is slightly thicker/thinner than rest of the area. This is normally due to stress at that point. It is annoying but if there are no repeated color rings, like red/yellow/blue/red/yellow/blue, it should be fine. If you have alot of repeated color rings, the LCD may approach its life end.

Thanks for the info. When you said it should be fine, do you mean it will disappear, or it just won't affect usability?
It may disappear if the stress is released, e.g., you push the area a bit or you put it into different temperature environment. But I doubt it will disappear for ever. It was not there in the first place then it came. This means some sort of stress/pressure built up there. It should not affect your daily use a lot. It is just a visual effect. But if it gets worse, the colour rings will become very dense and sharp. It will affect you visual. I had a phone pinged on LCD sometime ago. It had similar rings like yours. But it was so dense I could not see any thing behind it. I had to change it for £35.
Also I looked at another previous comment about the humidity. It could give you the same effect. Maybe you can bake your phone a bit?
Please Read before "Flaming!" - I do NOT work for Samsung!!! I also did not find an ongoing thread for this issue... so If I missed an already open thread, forgive me. Also, please excuse the length of the post... trying to describe this as best I can to get feedback from others!! (Mainly, do I need to exchange this ONE, no pun intended.)
I picked up my ONE from BB yesterday - Sprint Version - Serial FA##BS - FYI
After messing with it for a bit I noticed the signal would jump all over the place, from 1-6 bars. Normally my EVO LTE would jump from 4-6 bars, but not nearly as much movement as my new ONE.
I did not want to put the words "Death Grip" in the title as I'm sure I would be immediately flamed left and right! But unfortunately, it seems that my phone does indeed have a grip issue.
So, here is what I have figured out so far and I might make a video to better describe this if need be...
First and foremost, I believe this to be a LEFT Handed problem, as I am left handed and tried holding the phone in the same way in my right hand without major issue. I normally hold my phone from the middle, to the bottom of the device... thumb pointed up along the left side of the phone. Index finger on the back pointing towards the top right of the phone. Middle and ring finger curled around the phone near the bottom third of the phone and pinkie underneath for balance.
Again, I am using my left hand for this and when switching to my right hand, I do not have the same signal loss. While looking at my phone and the position of my hand, I noticed that the fleshy part of my palm, near my thumb was "gripping" the bottom left corner of the phone. Hence touching both the back and front aluminum parts as well as covering the white plastic in that corner.
This led me to a few tests, of course by this time I already thought it could be a left/right issue so I held the device in what I guess could be a "pinch" position. Gripping the very bottom left corner of the device with my Index and Thumb, middle finger underneath for balance. (Please be VERY careful if you try holding your phone this way, do so above carpet or soft surface at the very least!!!)
Holding the phone this way really took a toll on the Network Signal, bringing it down (up?) as much as 18-24 dBm (From 5/6 bars to 1/2 bars)
I tried all of this using my right hand, but really saw no defining difference other than it felt weird! But signal seemed fine.
Early in my testing I decided to hold the phone up high, again left handed, and noticed random 1 bar WIFI signal loss. But the Network Signal was fine. After going back and forth with it, trying to recreate a similar holding position as I normally hold the phone, I turned the phone upside down. This gave me my "regular" grip and consistently dropped WIFI 2 bars. Although I have not been able to get the "pinch" grip to do really anything up top.
WIFI seems to be less affected, especially as most won't hold the phone there unless in portrait mode. Which I have not worried taking notes on... yet! So far, just north/south testing.
Another thing with the WIFI, I did these tests in 3 different places in my house and when I was at my desk 4 feet away from my router, I had no issues. But in the back of the house (Bedroom/Bathroom... where you need wifi!!) is where I saw the effects.
Network signal seemed to be affected everywhere, but less when outside.
Also, it usually took about 5-7 seconds for the effect to take place when switching holding positions, but the signal would hold steady (whether good or bad) for long periods of time.... minutes in this case.
I have included a few pics, and will do a video if need be, but would love some REAL feedback from other ONE owners. And if you do reply, please let me know where you got your one, I.E. Sprint, from HTC, At&t, other, etc.
Excellent feedback!
You're holding it wrong!!! >:[

Tried holding mine (Sprint) like you described. I dropped from 5 bars to 2.
---------- Post added at 05:57 AM ---------- Previous post was at 05:23 AM ----------
Something of note. Held the phone lefty to drop the signal and then ran OpenSignal's speedtest. Signal jumped back up to 5 bars (-85dBm). Maybe something to do with how/when the antennas tune themselves.

So i started to try and use air gesture and immediately was frustrated with it. The instructions seemed fairly easy but also aren't crazy clear.
First it might just be me but I had to hold my hand further away from the screen than I thought. You'll hold your hand out a few inches above the camera and it will come up with the little blue/green status bar. I didn't see anything really mention this bar and was confuse by it. All it really means though is that the camera is on and watching. Secondly, you'll raise your hand about another 3 inches away and make a "loose" claw. I saw this because I was doing a really like pinched/clutched claw hand and it would NOT recognize it. Sort of pretend like you're grabbing a crystal ball rather than a gumball (sorry if this is a really odd example).
After this you should see the helper come up and show your hand. My biggest problems were distance and hand form.
Also, for hand id, you have to turn on "cover to wake for hand id" to get the screen to wake up with it. This isn't on by default. You essentially do the same things as air gesture, just holding your hand a few inches off the screen.
In the end I can't see hand ID as extremely useful myself, but the air gesture could be great in the right situation.
Good write up, spot on.
Found this video from LG that shows exactly what you described, so if you need a visual aid to go along, here it is.

I find being able to just place my hand over the phone to wake and unlock rather my favorite use of this. Knocking the screen twice is ok for wakeup but it describes as being able to turn it off..doesn't ever seem to work. Opening up the music app and controlling it without touching the phone whilst driving (and the phone is in my hands free cradle) has been pretty useful once I memorized the distance and gesture so I don't have to look at the phone at all. If LG expands this functionality ever it could be quite useful..allow you to let the camera film custom gestures and connect that gesture to whatever function you like, and such.

Thanks for posting the video, I finally did it! I'm fairly impressed, but find it to still be pretty uncooperative. Of course, I could spend a lot of time perfecting my technique, but I think it really needs more development. It's just waaaaay too fickle, especially if you have to pull your hand away for a split second.
