If your phone is sprint you can only use roms, recovery, kernel and etc made for the sprint version. Stuff for the standard version won't work on your sprint variant.
I'm not really aware of the sim unlock method for the sprint variant but if it requires s-off then you'll need to use sunshine s-off which is the only tool that will s-off your phone and you'll be happy to know that this tool cost 25$ to use...
For your connectivity issues check that your USB cable is the original cable or at least that it's a data cable. There are cheap USB cable that will only charge device without providing a data connection.

Like I've said if the sim unlock method for the sprint variant does requires the phone to be s-off first then you have no other choice than using Sunshine to achieve s-off. All these free methods of achieving s-off were patched with bootloader updates (your phone is running Android 5.0.2 so its on the latest bootloader) over the years and the only method that still works is Sunshine.

I found your link very interesting, but, I can't test it because my phone didn't connect to data my pc, I think it's hardware problem, I don't know but, when I connect a usb cable from phone to pc, it just charge battery, but no data is sharing between both
finally i managed to use unlock helper, and i tested with *#*#4634#*#* but now, the problem is that i can´t change from lte/cdma network to 2g/3g, cause it doesn´t recognize my sim card (movistar) anyone could help me to change my mobile network??

Yes, as soon as I plug the power cable in it boots to bootloader fine (despite root been removed it says unlocked security warning)
I fully charged the battery but unless its plugged in it wont turn on even using the hardware buttons.

Just unrooting the device will not relock the bootloader, sounds like you have corrupted the firmware, somehow... Flash a Custom Rom From Recovery and itll work just fine Oh and dont forget that youll need to put the Boot.img on the device via fastboot USB

That's my fault I guessed it had NFC, totally my bad I meant to check.
updated the phone to latest version.
then unlocked bootloader
installed touch CWM beta 1
rooted device (I know backwards mistake there)
attempted the sim unlock (no luck at all)
used the updated SU to unroot
then relocked bootloader
mostly used the All in one apart from the root part...
I was thinking of using the stock three RUU hoping that would solve my issue .
So if it has no NFC I'm good to go on Nameless ROM which is great.
Thanks for the help and advice, I'll report back if this solves it.
The stock ruu will probably fix it there's a link to one round here somewhere but it won't work if you've updated to the newest software version and this phone does have nfc cause mines on three uk aswell. You can still use nameless rom tho but you just won't be able to use nfc.

Hi,
Well got home and now it wont turn on even plugged in I suspect it is bricked, not sure how that happened really but presume its something I missed.
I plugged it into the USB port and it beeped 3 times rapidly then showed as an unrecognised device .
Thanks for the help guys.
Update - ADB and RUU both show device as not found for obvious reasons, how much to repair and is it possible?

I don't believe it is either necessary or possible to SIM-unlock by flashing a Windows phone. I just bought mine unlocked, others have had success by calling either the OEM or the mobile operator to which it is locked.
It is definitely not possible to root an HTC Windows phone at this time.
Windows Phone is not Android. It's pretty pointless to assume that they will work the same way.

There is a method for unbranded HTC 8X, for some, this method works for HTC 8S with a specific CID.
For unlock your SIM of your HTC 8S, you can always contact your network operator.

Hello,
I am currently living in Europe and i have a Sprint M8. Unfortunately s-off is not compatible with my phone (u might know about the whelp message).
I dont know even if this is possible, but if any of u guys has a contract with SPRINT, can you request an international SIM Unlock (GSM) for me (i dont need unlock for USA carriers, just for other international carriers)?
I can pay if the fee is acceptable.
Thanx!
first why would you get the Sprint version if you live abroad?
second sprint can unlock it so long as its payed off (not on someones contract) and hasnt been reported lost or stolen. just call sprint

I cant call sprint from where I live. If somebody can do it for me im willing to pay.
I contacted Sprint from their Live Chat, and they told me i have to have an active contract with them in order to unlock. Which i dont have

if you want to try something on your responsibility then you can follow the sim unlock method without s-off (remember to make nand backup) & try if you get your device unlocked, if not then you will need to enable gsm band with QPST, with modified HTCOMADM_SPCS.apk.
I followed all that sim unlock method but my device still locked & i can't select gsm networks then i enabled it with QPST & all things worked ok.
the difference between us is s-off only.
I already tried it and the .apk files on /system/apps are replaced after i make the reboot. I guess this is why s-off is needed... I think i have to wait for the new s-off. Or till somebody with a Sprint contract will help me (if it is even possible since im in europe right now)

Try the following on you responsibility
- You should know your SPC, you can read it with CDMA Workshop or CDMA DFS Tool.
- Install QSPT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2263391)
- enable diag mode ##3424#
- open QPST configuration, from port tab add your device diagnostics port.
- from start clients tab choose service programming then ok & click on read from phone.
- on system tab choose automatic for roam preferences.
- on UMTS System tab choose any for pref service domain & any band (last bottom right) for proffered band.
- click write to phone, then your device should work on GSM mode with modified HTCOMADM_SPCS.apk.

There are more than 2 Versions of the HTC one. Yours is Sprint M7_wls and although the Hardware is basically the same. The Sprint has a different partition structure to the more popular International M7_ul also Sprint uses a CDMA network where as International uses GSM network.
Your new OS version with hboot 1.55 seem's to be normal and nothing to worry about. It appears strange though as we were only aware of GPE phones getting a lollipop update. Since the latest update before lollipop has firmware number 6.xx with hboot 1.57 we kind of expected lollipop to be on 7.xx with hboot 1.58. But for some reason it appears Sprint has gone back to 1.55. It will be interesting to see if other variants go the same way.
The fact your device is s-off is a good thing, there's not much you can't do with s-off. As long as your only using Sprint software ( Rom's, RUU's and Recoveries) Your'll be fine.
You'll find the Sprint Forums here http://forum.xda-developers.com/sprint-htc-one.
Did you buy it from ebay it's not the first time I've heard of devices from china coming with s-off when purchased from ebay.

I have bought the same phone off from aliexpress 11.11 sales!
It has arrived today to Hungary.
A chinese SOUL TEAM rom was installed on it. I would like to go on with a stock rom. Which one to go for?
I have checked the phone's version by IMEI and i was told its an 801e variant: i.imgur com/69yw3hG.png
SN: FA34AS902336
But i have an other problem with it: it does not recognize the SIM card. No PIN check nor signal, altough when I remove the sim card when the phone is on I recieve an error that the sim card removed. Tried it with 2 SIMs already.
So I'm not so sure about its a Sprint version. Did u successfully flash a Sprint ROM on it already?

Just to correct you, the red text shows once your bootloader is unlocked and a non-stock boot is installed, if I remember rightly it was said to be triggered by CRC check &/or Signature check, shows same text way back on hTC Desire C as well

You're in the wrong area to use TWRP, or {Install a new Oden (Kerrnal) [Download Mode]}
Bootloader isn't for anything useful to lame brains like me, besides unlocking the bootloader, rooting it, and fixing the SD write issue, then relocking the bootloader.
What we did wrong is this! we didn't have all the correct programs running when we unlocked the bootloader, after that we rooted our phones. Gotten the root is correctly installed from a root apk/exe {programs} once we reset our phones, we get stuck at the service provider screen. the only way off this screen is to press the both volume
buttons + power until it resets. if we don't press the volume down + power buttons it reboots & locks up again at the service provider screen.
For HTC Phones:
HTC phones can flash stock ROMs, known as RUUs, right from the phone's bootloader. You'll need to Google around for your device's specific RUU file, but once you download it, save the ZIP file to your SD card, and rename it (to something like PG05IMG.zip—the download page for the RUU file should specify which filename is required), booting up your phone should automatically flash the stock ROM from HBOOT, HTC's bootloader.

NOOB ALERT!!! (me lol)
I have the exact same issue of this thread and I've been looking all over google for at least one stock ROM for the desire for like 3 weeks now and I did read some of the thread you quote before and was really usefull for my Moto Droid Razr HD :victory: but It would be AWESOME if you have an idea of where to find a ROM for this phone specific
HTC Desire 625 Cricket
***UNLOCKED***
htc_a32eul PVT S-ON
OS-1.23.507.5
Thank you!:fingers-crossed:
Buenas tengo problema también con htc desire 625 cricket y no encuentro una stock room
I just bought one of these (Cricket HTC 625) to use as a temporary phone after my Sony Z2 Failed (Touch screen spazzing out/left, 1/4 non-responsive).
I am going to (carrier) unlock it, but obviously a more generic ROM would be nice, too.
I'm experienced at installing ROMs via various way, installing recoveries, using ADB, etc., but I know nothing about this phone (I've never had an HTC phone)
Is this phone essentially a branded 626?
Can I re/un brand it with any 626 rom?
A quick intro to this phone would be appreciated.
I also bought a 625 from cricket recently. Someone told me via pm here at the forum that it could be rooted using the same method as the 626s, but the person has not (yet) pointed me to the guide he used.
I'd like to learn more also

I bought a couple of these as "Refurbished HTC 625" from Cricket for $0.99. The phone I received is an HTC Desire 626s. In fact if you look at the "settings->about->phone" it says "HTC Desire 626s".
I was able to unlock the bootloader / install a custom recovery / root, but there does not appear to be any ROMs available. My previous experience was with Kindle Fires and Nexus 5s, so I was a bit surprised with the dev threads for this phone.

That's an awesome deal.
I paid $6 for one of those instant on-line carrier unlocks, so you'd have a fairly modern and capable unlocked Android phone for ~$7.00. If I could un-lock and un-brand them, I could sell as many as I could get at a significant profit!
As I mentioned, mine was a temporary replacement. I've since purchased an Honor 8 as a permanent replacement, but the HTC served me well in the interim.

Thanks Jake - I got it rooted not too long after I'd made that post but I appreciate you taking the time to post that
I got myself a 625 last year, when I boot the thing into download mode it shows htc_a32eul
The official Cricket RUU for 626s also shows A32EUL in the filename. So perhaps this rom wil help you ?
http://dl3.htc.com/application/RUU_...4.1777877360.1498843151-1775625655.1498843151
Here you can find that the 625 is the same as the 626s
https://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-626/general/desire-625-626s-t3420019
edit: I can confirm this RUU is working on Cricket desire 625 ! The phone now has the official ROM again and when i tap "about" in the system settings it shows 626s. Everything is working fine ! So I'm now thinking of flashing to a custom 626s rom

The refurbished one was $1 with 1-month plan purchase requirement, great phone for the price.
