install android 4.4 kitkat on hboot 1.61 s-on - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

If I don't unlock with sunshine, what are my options? I tried flashing the boot image with fastboot before running the google play rom zip on twrp. That boot looped the phone for awhile before I was able to recover.
I have lollipop 5.0.2, rooted, unlocked, s-on.

you can follow @alray's guide on how to "downgrade" with S-on here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=59436794&postcount=2 . its quite confusing though. After that just flash a custom recovery and flash your desired kitkat rom

Just to avoid confusion or even a bricked phone - you can't downgrade that far with @alray's tutorial. That is ment only for firmwares with the same hboot, and KK firmware has a different hboot.
dey tuuk ur juurbs

^^exactly, you can downgrade versions as long as the hboot of the version you want to downgrade to is the same version of your actual hboot. Kit Kat is 1.57 and Lollipop is 1.61 so this method won't work.

"Confusing" is a wrong word, sorry about that. I was meant that the method should be read and execute carefully, that's all :good:

What is the latest Sprint Firmware?

my ONE is on 100.20.0913-3
yea thats the latest and is the 4.3 update as far as i know. There was a sense 5.5 rollout but i think thats only to the google play editions
If it was an official Rollout then it'd be to the UL variation, not GPE.
Where can i download the latest firmware.zip?
Hi, I just obtained S-Off on my Sprint One and I'm having trouble figuring out what firmware to flash. Can someone point me to the latest one for Sprint? I was browsing through these, but wasn't sure: http://arhd.onedroid.net/db_mirror/Firmware/index.php?dir=HTC/HTC_One/
Thanks.

My touch screen has become unresponsive after flashing? Thoughts? Thanks again.
You flashed the firmware with the new touch panel in it. That firmware only works with the latest TWRP and 4.3 based roms. So flash the latest TWRP image and then a 4.3 based Rom.

New to the S-off stuff

I just bought a HTC One with T-Mobile on 4.1.2. it's used and is rooted with TWRP. I've learned that the s-on is on but i need it off. I"m kind of rusty to this considering i rooted my HTC Inspire years ago. I attemped to use revone, moonshine, and rumrunner with no luck. Any suggestions?
If your phone is a T-Mobile phone, you can ask for help in this forum:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one-tmobile/help
Also, be warned that if the phone was at one point S-Off, it may now be impossible to get S-Off again.

Could you please verify that? I had to go back to S-ON to give the phone for repairing the purple tint issue with the camera. Once I get the phone back, I will definitely want to S-OFF again.
Thanks

[Solved] arhd 61.1

Is ARHD compatible for every HTC ONE phone?
Yes it should be
---------- Post added at 12:01 PM ---------- Previous post was at 11:56 AM ----------
Just click on my banner and read if there is listed an exception
But there should be no problem
Perhaps you have to install a different TWRP version if you don't have the international Htc One
Just google twrp and look if there is something written on the site
---------- Post added at 12:06 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:01 PM ----------
Yeah there is only an exception for the sprint htc one
So if you have a sprint then just flash this twrp
http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/171
For the rom zip file nothing change
So just download ARHD 61.1 at

International HTC One with S-OFF is compatible with all ROMs in the Android and Original Android development pages. ARHD 61.1 will work properly on S-ON as well. The latest TWRP currently is 2.7.0.0, which ull find on their download page.
Also, for optimal performance, its better that ur firmware version is also the latest

you can check what model you have either by looking at bootloader screen, or doing a "fastboot getvar all" -> what you're looking for is M7_U/M7_UL (GSM) or even M7_WLS (Sprint / CDMA)
PS: if your phone is a Dual-SIM, then ARHD is NOT compatible!!
here's the info you should look at about different versions available of ARHD Sense Edition:
[INFO & FIXES] Android Revolution HD 31.6, 53.0, 61.1 and FIXES

In need of guidance

Alright so, I returned my HTC One into HTC for repair and will be receiving my replacement on Monday. I haven't unlocked the bootloader/rooted/picked a recovery since the first month I bought it in July 2013. Is there any new methods or recommended methods to do all of this now?
I remember before I sent my device in, I was using old software I think. I never updated the "hboot", "radio", "firmware", etc so I'm hoping I can do all of that this time around so my HTC One preforms to the best of it's capabilities. If that's necessary anyway.
There's SO many guides on XDA I just don't know which is the general "best" option nowadays. Can someone link me to the newer versions or even the old ones if they are what's still best? As well as the better recovery? Is it still TWRP?
Also, I hear that if you run OTA updates with a new HTC One and bring it up to date, it makes it harder to go through the process? Is that true?
With the latest hboot , I believe 1.57 it's difficult to achieve s-off, but other then that everything has remained the same. As far as recovery goes, some roms specifically require TWRP but the 2.7 series causes some issues so most people are sticking with 2.6.

What is the difference between 1.54 and 1.57 hboot? Well, I think I was using 1.54 on my phone. Or was it 1.44? Whichever. What's the difference between hboots?
