Teclast X98 Air II Dual-Boot Factory Data Reset - Teclast X98 Air 3G

Hello,
I have the Teclast X98 air II with Android 5.0 and Windows 8.1. I'd like to do a factory data reset on Android. My question is, will that affect the Windows installation in any way?
More details:
My tablet came rooted, but I couldn't install OTA updates as well as the temporary 3D game freeze/restart fix (fastmode) provided by Teclast. It always returns the 'Status 7 - installation aborted' error.
Because of that, I unrooted the tablet through the SuperSU 'Full Unroot' option. But even after that, I still get the status 7 errors when trying to apply the updates. Side question: will a factory data reset fix the status 7 error?
Thanks!

[Q] Recommended way to flash via Kies

Hi all,
I am new to this Kies flash process and have read people having problems when updating their ROM to official releases.
I am currently on JF3 and Kies is offering JM1, I want to upgrade but am wondering if there is a "recommended" way to update?
I have an unrooted phone and have installed software like Launcher Pro, Advanced Task Killer, Alarm Master etc...
I was wondering if I should do a factory reset first on the phone before I upgrade to JM1?
I am running Windows 7 and Kies is on version 1.5.1.10074.2 running in Administrator mode and I have Antivirus turned off.
Any tips for a hassle free update greatly appreciated
Thank you in advance
No just update via Kies... Unless you havent rooted your phone and you dont have a lagfix installed you can update the normal way.
Remember that your data may be corrupted after upgrade and i would advice to do a factory reset after upgrading the firmware to clean up the phone.
So backup your data!
there is a new version of Kies out just today
link is in the wiki
Thank you for the info guys. I did the upgrade and it work flawlessly.
Got a bit scared when Win 7 said that it was installing drivers halfway during the install and the device appeared to get disconnected
But the progress bar kept going and I waited about 5 minutes and it completed and rebooted the phone. Now I am on JM1 and it does run better
I will check out the new Kies too.
Thanks again for the input.

[Q] Fresh start

Hi guys, I recently updated to 2.2.1 through Kies with Kies registry patcher which worked perfectly. The thing is, after the update the phone seemed a little sluggish at moments and mobile internet didn't work, so I decided to do a factory reset. What I'm wondering is, is the factory reset the ultimate reset and actually resets the phone to a complete fresh state?
Also, can I format the internal SD card because I think that when I bought the phone there were already some files/folders on it? Is it ok to format it? Should I do it before factory reset or after?
Greatly appreciate all the help.

[Q] 7.8 to 7.5

I have an AT&T HTC HD7 with 7.5 and I decided to upgrade to Windows Phone 7.8
I went to http://www.windowsphonehacker.com/articles/want_windows_phone_7.8_now_try_this_easy_tool-01-31-13 and I tried to install 7.8, but installation crashed a few times before that. Unfortunately during this "installation", my phone lost the hability to access Wi-Fi, SMS many other features, and I was unable to reset it to factory defaults (Settings > About didn't work).
Then I found the amazing http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37384687&postcount=1478 and I moved to 8779, 8783 and finally 8858 (Windows Phone 7.8). Now 7.8 is working but I still can't access Wi-Fi, SMS, Settings > About and many other! When I click any of these options, nothing happens or the next screen crashes and it goes to the last screen.
Then I decided the best move is to go back to original 7.5, but I couldn't find the ROM and any real solution to do that.
How do I install original (factory) AT&T version 7.5?? (Settings > About doesn't work so I don't have the option to restore using "Reset to factory settings" option)
Thx in advance!
I would follow these instructions to unlock the phone:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1597837
Then install Dynamics 7.8 ROM:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1523991
My phone is already unlocked. I will follow your suggestion. Thx!
Any other suggestion?
Downgrade SPL and install official Mango (7.5)?
Well, after trying many solutions that didn't help me, I sent my phone to mobiletechvideos (google it as I'm still not allowed to post outside links here) and they unbricked it! SWEET!
They were able to restore the factory default installation and everything is working now! I (obviously) lost all data, but the phone is perfect and I'm installing all updates since 7.5 using Zune. If you have a similar problem, I highly recommend their service!

[Q] Updated my Sam Ativ S to 8.1 and phone reboots constantly

Hi guys, i just updated my Samsung Ativ S today to the WP 8.1, and everything seems to work "fine".
EXCEPT that as soon as I turn off the phone and turn back on, it keeps on for like 20 seconds, sets to flight mode, and reboots. And it keeps doing it over and over again, it won't stop rebooting. I have tried to reset the phone configurations, but it resets again to WP 8.1, and I keep getting this bug everytime I turn the power off. Is there any way to reset it to the oldest firmware(8.0...)? Anyone else experiencing this?
1) hard reset your phone
2) after the configuration of Microsoft account, don't use backup, choose config everything again.
3) If you want to use cortana, choose english and United states for country, speech, display language etc.
Ativ S - Tim Sul - Rebooting Constantly
Dear,
After update my Ativ S, I'm experiencing the same problems discussed by CamilaRamos. I have done the Hard Reset and restarted the WP 8.1 without considering my MS Account. However, after I have inserted the Sim Card, the same problem start to occur again.
Thanks in advance,
I have samsung ativ s and after update 8.1 it is rebooting of one to one minutes.
All app are installed in internal memory, I don't use memory card.
I did many things, but nothing resolved my problem.
I wait that the Microsoft is looking to solve this, because I can't come back to GDR3 and need my phone for my job everyday.
If hard reset doesn't work, follow this steps::
1) reflash the Samsung ativ s rom (Windows phone 8.0 GDR3), following this step by step: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2391138
2) The rom and CSC you can download here: http://tweaksparadise.com/download/anaheiim/?action=list&folder=7836
3) After reflash the Windows phone 8 GDR3 rom, reinstall the preview for developers and search again for updates, your phone will update again to Windows phone 8.1.
4) this will solve all issues.

I'll try this. I checked my CSC by the diagnosis app and it's ZTOALL3, but I only found ZTO for download. Is there any problem using this one?

No, no problem
So, I managed to reset my phone back to gdr3 with that tutorial using ZTO csc, but now I have to manually set the APN information to get my 3G connected, and as soon as i reboot the phone, it will erase those configs and I have to set it up again. Is there any way to save it undefinetly, or can I set my csc to ATO and how would I do it, or would it make any difference here?

I can tell you my story. I also updated my Br-Ativ S (pun intended) to 8.1, coming from a manually flashed GDR3. I had to hard reset the phone in order to start over and correct some bugs, including the one you described. I had a similar issue using the wrong GDR3 rom found on the intarweb.
Good luck!

Internet Connection Unstable (WiFi) Since Recent OTA Update

My phone is a T-Mobile branded HTC One M7 with Android 5.0.2. A few days ago, I received an OTA Android update and since then, WiFi has been unusable.
When WiFi is turned on, the phone sees and connects to the WiFi access point, but a error message pops up, "Internet Connection Unstable" with the SSID of the access point displayed below.
I contacted HTC support and was advised to wipe the cache partition. This did not work, and the next bit of advice was to do a factory reset on the phone. I'd like to avoid that if possible... has anyone else encountered this issue?
Thanks.
Earl
UPDATE: this turned out to be not a problem with the phone. I found a rogue DHCP server on the network that was causing the instability.
they might be right, a full reset is quite useful after a ota update (for HTC phones). After upgrading to lollipop I did have a couple of bugs (tho none as major as the one you're describing) and I had to do a factory reset to get everything working flawlessly.
And after trying to upgrade from stock 7.19.401.102 to 7.19.401.121 my m7 stopped working altogether, it got stuck in a bootloop at HTC's logo. I had to flash a nandroid backup I made when I was on KitKat and then upgrade to 7.19.401.102 lollipop, do a full reset, upgrade to 7.19.401.121, and then another reset. That fixed everything for me (maybe the factory resets weren't necessary in that case tho). But I no longer care about htc's stock roms to go through such trouble again.
HTC's ota update seem to have lots of bells and whistle (and annoyances) going about them, which is why I'm on 6.0.1 crdroid ROM.
try clearing the settings app data (from settings>apps) or the WiFi app data. There's no guarantee it'll work but it's better than having to do a full reset.
