According to the littel infos you are presenting here i give a very general advise.
Ask your company to give you the needed Data or at least the permission to grab it from your Phone.
Anything else is illegal and can get you into trouble.

Samsung releases "Samsung Dive"...

researching something else, came across this - samsung just released "samsung Dive" in Germany & UK - an app that lets you wipe or lock your phone remotely if lost or stolen
http://www.slipperybrick.com/2010/07/samsung-dive-remotely-locks-wipes-your-wave-galaxy-s-for-free/
I just signed up for it and tried it. Annoying that they're not enabling the tracking service depending on the country, wavesecure does that and more... If there a way to work around it by a proxy or such?
how do you sign up on the galaxy s? i cant seem to find what its asking for, and there is nothing in the user guide about the galaxy s

you need to sign up via the application within the phones app
where is that exactly? i cant seem to find it, thanks in advance!
From homescreen, go into settings -> location & security -> set mobile tracker
Have fun
You need a Samsung account first. In settings go to the area where it allows you to add various accounts like facebook/gmail and add a samsung account... then go to http://www.samsungdive.com/index.do
then enable mobile tracking ...
login with the account you made etc
full instructions are on that website ...
Thats the problem, in the account settings there is no samsung option, just google, facebook, myspace, twitter and corporate. and the instructions on the website are for the S8500 Wave, not the Galaxy S. enabling mobile tracker in security doesnt work, as again, there is no option to create an account, so even if it is set up, you cant access it from the website.
Since its not available in the US yet.
SIM Checker
Remote Wipe
Where's My Droid
3 apps will do.
annoyingly, i'm in the uk so it is available where i am, just i cant access it
Anyone managed to sign into the website yet. I can't find any option to create an account on my phone

i figured it out.
in contrast to the website, in order to create your samsung account, you have to enable mobile tracker first. then after setting it up do you get the option to make your samsung account, which is the opposite of the information on the website, saying that you need to make the account first and then enable mobile tracker. hope this helps anyone who was stuck
Brilliant, thanks
I'm trying to sign up for an account now, and it's coming back with an error message, saying "invalid birthday" .... which is odd - I'm fairly sure my birthday is NOT invalid - I am fairly sure I have in fact been born!

Had the same error. Just ignored it and signed up without entering a birthday. When I logged in, my birthday was correctly registered :/

When we know Samsung's skills to implement working and bug free software, do you dare to install that piece of software that can wipe off your phone I'm not sure, if I dare.
The service don't seem to work though. Tried sending a remote lock command, and it said it was successful, but I can still use the phone without providing the lock code.
Might be dependant on TwLauncher though. I use LauncherPro
it says it's only for UK and Germany

Is anyone having any luck signing up with the Web Tracker?
I've got a Galaxy S on Froyo, and it won't let me sign up. I fill in all the fields fine, but then get this error: "Unable to sign up. Processing failed IDM_1105"
Any ideas?
All signed up and seems to be working. Sent a location request and waiting for reply now. The register being hidden under the on screen keyboard did have me stumped for a while. Also date of birth is YYYY DD MM so not easy to get right without an example.

[Q] Stolen Samsung Galaxy

Hey guys,
i have got a little problem:
my Galaxy S was stolen this weekend and because i'm kind of naive i didn't configurated any anti-theft software, neither nor uTrack. Well is there any possibility to track it by using the IMEI No? (it's already not accessible via my phone number)
I already complained to the police. But because i hope that here is some crack who has a idea what else i can do
I'm looking forward to read some hints !
Thanks in advance!
I'm not sure if this would work...
but if someone does take it online, the new number should get registered against your google account (provided it is saved and turned on by default)...
so you might be able to get their new phone number and ask the police to locate them with help of the network operator?
if it should be so easy, where can i fand that option? (i'm honestly not used to the google webinterface)
Try google dashboard: https://www.google.com/dashboard/?hl=en&pli=1
Also go on the market interface on web, in the settings you can see the last time your account was accessed and the carrier used
also you should be able to report the imei to your carrier which can put it on a blacklist to be blocked so it would be useless as aphone.
if u blacklist it however you wont ever be able to track it.
im not sure where u live, but if u discuss the situation with the police, carrier and google they should be able to triangulate and find the location of the phone.
also, if there was a remote wipe facility u could have saved your private data.

and i'll highlight the importance of that again
if it's stolen, it is stolen, it's gone, you wont be able to recover it unless you had installed some of those protective apps in the past.
if you do get lucky enough to find your phone
your carrier will be more than happy to remove it from the black list
so do it now!

App to delete all data on phone if lost?

Hey guys, I was wondering if there was an app that would delete everything on my phone if it was lost or stolen. Or at least something to logout of all my account. My concerns are of someone having access to my email, ebay, amazon, etc. Thanks.
If you got/get the Verizon warranty plan it comes with some of the features you are looking for... although they could still just take the memory card out, but at least they can't just go into your logged in accounts.
Mobile Recovery is an application included with Total Equipment Coverage, at no additional cost (data charges may apply for the download and use of Mobile Recovery). Mobile Recovery allows you to:
Locate a lost device (location shown geographically on a map)
Sound a phone alarm to find a lost device
Remotely lock a device to secure your data
Remotely wipe a device’s contacts to protect your privacy

EDIT - Never mind, apparently the Thunderbolt is not supported yet. Sorry for the incorrect info. Slackers!

This is what I have on mine. Awesome app, you can locate via gps, make an alarm go off (great if you can't find your phone), lock your phone, wipe it.
Can I transfer seekdroid to future phones?

[Q] Tracking a lost phone - When thief is not braindead

I checked out various apps which can locate lost phone(after stolen).
All work on the premise of installing app remotely from google play, and then sending SMS to your phone etc.,
However, there are a few caveats(with all such apps, and others too). they work for brain dead thieves.
Professional thiefs will throw away your sim card, and then put in a new sim(prepaid sims freely available).
For security, the owner of phone will obviously change the gmail password, right?
So if thief factory resets and wipes data, and then logs on with a different google play account, can you still track it?
Is there any app which allows to do the same?
Casual thieves can be caught, but what if somebody does a full wipe?
I think google tracks phones using device ID. Is it possible to track phone through google, even if android account(google account) being used on the phone is different?
Need help please.
Prevention is better than the cure.
If the phone has been stolen without any tracking software installed, then the chances of recovering it are a lot smaller than if tracking software was installed before it was stolen.
The best thing you can do is call your carrier and ask them to block the IMEI, if they care about you they may also track it down... Or at least do some kind of deal to get you a new phone.
The best tracking app in my opinion is Avast! Its free too !
There is an anti theft feature, which requires root, But it will install as a system app so a factory reset wont remove it. You can do a whole range of things via the webpage, such as activating mobile data, Turning GPS on so you can track it, You can also make the phone scream and shout 'warning this device has been lost or stolen'
This is a useful feature as only you can disable it, You can also enter a message which will be displayed on screen for the theif to see!
You can remotely lock and wipe the device, so the theif cannot change gmail account.
Its does a whole lot more too!

Will it work in the following scenario
1. thief Steals phone
2. Puts phone in custom recovery
3. Flashes a new ROM
4. Puts in a new SIM
5. Uses a different google account.
Google has IMEI number of devices used. So can google let me know which user has the phone after its been stolen, if I give them a copy of the police report or something.
Actually Samsung have a free tracking and after-theft service.
You can set it up on the phone and on the samsung website.
It works even if they use the phone on the moon after having it
flushed through a toilet....So why bother in using third party apps and services ??

Google are a massive company, I doubt they will help 1 individual person, but its sure worth a try
as for the scenario, If the theif flashes a new ROM, it will overwrite /system so any previous system apps will be removed.
But, bear in mind, not everyone is an android freak like us most people wont know what recovery is, or how to flash a ROM, so this should give you enough time to track it down via the website.
For the freaks that do know what they're doing, Well I guess thats unfortunate, No security can withstand the knowledge we have, You will just have to hope they have a nice heart and will return it.

[Q] Forgot secure box password! please help!

Hello everyone,
when i first purchased the HTC One and was exploring everything, i made the mistake of setting up a password for the secure box and didn't really take note of it until i moved a few messages over there. And when i tried to access them, i... don't remember the code. I've been racking my brain for days of possible codes, but it always denies it. So after a week or so i rooted my phone and in the process reset the phone. But when i tried to see the messages, the code was still on. I have no idea what to do, can anyone pleeeeease help me. I can provide proof of purchase or anything else, i just need to see my messages. If there is a way to bypass this please tell me.
Thank you.
Impossible bro it's blowfish encrypted. The app might just be a simple messaging program but it's encryption is one of the hardest and uncrackable so far. It could have been possible if it's only storing the messages on a database but nope it's stored in a seperate encrypted file.
