I'd like to buy a steering wheel control adapter for my ford focus 2006 and pumpkin 7' KLD6
I found those two
iDatalink Maestro ADS-MSW
Metra Axxess ASWC-1
Any recommendation ?
tag on question... i assume if you get a universal double din, you need a module like this correct? but if you get a vehicle specific unit from Joying or Pumpkin, you do not need to get a module like these?
ford focus 2006 dont you have steering wheels control on your car ? i have ford focus 2009 and sterring wheels control working well with my android head unit
Yes I have but it needs an adapter to "speak" with the HU unless I'm mistaken

No, the headunit should have an SWC adapter built in, I know my 2 joying headunits do. I was under the same impression when i first got my headunit but found I had wasted money because it was already present in the headunit.

Did you get a Universal joying unit or a vehicle specific one?

I got a Universal headunit, joying doesn't make a factory fit one for my 3rd Gen Toyota Tundra

Well that changes everything then. I was thinking of getting a vehicle specific one since I thought it included the adapter.
There are some much cheaper Universal units

I know a different manufacturer that makes one for my 3rd Gen Tundra but it costs about $500 and I paid $289 for the universal one, it's not a factory look but does the same thing.

Right, I was looking at a Seicane model that was like $470, but there is a Pumpkin universal unit with way better specs for like $269.

Weird, my Nexus 10 can't find the Kinivo BTH220. These are very popular, inexpensive bluetooth cans. From Amazon reviews they are reported to work with Nexus 7. Anyone else have problems? I'm stock for now on the Nexus 10.
Tried to pair my Kinivo BTH220's as well - same issue. Doesn't find them. I'm too much of a noob to offer a solution but wanted you to know you're not alone with this question. Wonder what's going on with the N10, they work perfectly with my phone...

Incompatible bluetooth stack?
Oh No...this is not compatible with Google Nexus 1.
OMG. Is this headphone not compatible with Android devices?
My google nexus one (rooted) is not able to discover the headphone at all.
Is this headphone only working for Apple products and Windows 7?
On the manual, it should work with Android devices though.
I'm hijacking this thread since I searched the forum for bth220, but my kinovo's aren't working on my HTC One X+. Can pair with my car.
Hmm, not sure what's going on, but I have those headphones and they work great on my nexus 10.

I found this from a review on Amazon: ... I contacted Kinivo when I had some difficulty pairing the headphones with my Nexus 10. It turns out the pairing difficulty was my fault (I was making the Nexus 10 bluetooth visible to devices but forgot to also have it search for devices). Kinivo responded almost immediately and walked me through the correct setup. Bottom line, buy the Kinivo product, you won't be disappointed!
Update: I tried again with Nexus 10 and paired ok. I'm not sure what the problem was.

I used it with my GS3 just this morning. Try this. Turn off the headphones. Enable bluetooth on the phone. Hold down the power button on headphones for 10 seconds or so until the lights flash. On the phone scan for new bluetooth devices. It should pair.

These headphones are great. I have 2 sets, one at work and one at home. The company is awesome too. A friend of mine had a pair crap out on him and Kinivo sent him a replacement free of charge and didn't even ask for the old ones back.
I recently ordered a Pioneer AppRadio2 and have ARLiberator installed on my Note II. Waiting for the radio to come in from Amazon.
Does anyone have experience with the AppRadio with the ARLiberator on the Note II?
How does it run? Is it smooth? Is it worth it?
Thanks!:good:
I have this combo and it is excellent. Pioneer should be paying the dev of arliberator as it is way better than the garbage that pioneer offers!

Do you have to install a brake bypass switch for it work?
I got the appradio 2 its awsome with the note II you have to buy the adapter for the mhl cable or it wont work or just buy a compatible mhl cable but yea I love it in my wifes car.
I installed the brake bypass... worth the 15-20 dollars.. otherwise you have to toggle the ebrake for video. Simple 3 wire connection

For some reason, I left my brake wire unconnected and it works just fine without any warnings when I hook up my phone either immediately before or after the Head Unit turns on. However, if i were to hook up my phone some time after the AppRadio has been turned on, then it will show me the warning screen. So I left it unconnected and just hook up my phone immediately. My AppRadio 2 is a US version too.

Go to samsung site or newegg and buy the 5 to 11 pin mhl adapter. Don't buy from ebay as you may get a fake unit and end up with snow issues.
S3 and note 2 needs 11 pin and the pioneer android kit uses 5 pin mhl.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Or just return that pioneer cable which costs way too much and just buy the Samsung 11 pin mhl adapter and any hdmi cable. It's way cheaper and you can get the official Samsung adapter from the Samsung site with the 50% coupon.
the pioneer kit doesn't work with the s3 is cause its a 5 pin when the s3 needs an 11 pin.
Thank u for reply. My pioneer cord is already install and i got it for $35 off Amazon. Do u have a link for the adaptor? With that adaptor my phone will work and charge at same time? Also wondering what a tasker app does and which one do i download? I heard that the tasker will do everything once phone is plugged in and turn off screen too. I plan on plugging in and putting phone in compartment out of site. Again thank you for taking time to answer the other questions and now these if u can..

I use an appradio2 in my car in conjunction with my note 2, I am using an allshare cast dongle so theres zero wires. Everything remains in my glove box.
Boo, my bh-8400bt doesn't have a hdmi port in the back I believe, but it does support app radio capabilities on iOS.
30 more then I planned but if it really works. Wish i had known about it, could have saved me 30 by not ordering pioneer android cable...

I just wanted to share my project that I been working on. I installed a nexus 7 tablet in the dash of my 2013 Chevy Silverado. I completely removed the factory radio. Installed an aftermarket amplifier for audio out to the truck speakers. Working steering wheel controls for audio playback.
Redoing my install. I bought a case for the tablet and fiberglassed it right to the dash.
Still have more sanding to do...
I would advise against using the case I bought. The fiberglase/bondo does not stick to it.

I also have a Silverado and just began my install and just started working on the mounting process but im a little stuck. Do you think you could provide more detail about how you mounted your nexus? I bought a $10 double din kit off eBay but it doesn't really fit too well so I need some new ideas.
Thanks!

I used some epoxy (http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B000PELVT0) to glue the frame of the double din kit to the kit. I then used a dremel to cut the the front of the kit to the desired thickness I wanted for the frame. Then used some plastic and the epoxy again to build a case around the tablet. If I have time after work today I'll take mine out and take some more pics of it and upload them for you. I pretty much only used the frame and the parts that screw to the truck from the kit. The rest is some other plastic I had and the epoxy.

Any car with a console big enough to support a double-DIN headunit has room for a 7" tablet. That's almost exactly how big the opening is.
