My Sony Xperia Z3+ which is running Marshmallow won't charge off of a mobile power bank. It charges just fine via charging cable through an outlet and also has no trouble charging through a computer. When I plug in a power bank, the bank doesn't turn itself on and when I manually activate it, the Xperia's screen will turn on and vibrate shortly, but there will be no charging.
I've tried messing with the USB connection type in Dev options but that hasn't helped, plus I've gone through three different power banks, none working. Whats going on? Phone charges fine otherwise.
Is the cable the same that u use to charge to phone through outlet and pc? The power bank is a good quality one or some cheap thing? Because i've found that the source or cable quality may be the reason of that issue

Laptop have smart battery manager to change a/c (when plug in power) and battery when haven't power, so haven't been charged and discharged => not low level . But have nook color smart battery manager ?
Nook color can use 8 hours , if i use more, I will charge it twice a day , I want plug it in power when I am at home
If you use the supplied cable and charger, it will allow fast charging and then automatically stop charging when it is full so you won't damage the battery.
If you use a different charger or cable, it will charge much slower.
Mine won't charge with another cable and plug besides the one it came with. Phone can't charge with NC plug and cable. Is it supposed to to be able to charge with a lower power adapter like the one for my phone?

Apparently you have to shut the Nook down for it to charge with a regular USB cable. That's because a regular cable won't supply enough power to charge the device while it is running. The fact that it will charge at all under these circumstances is an unadvertised feature.

The supplied charger is 1.9 amp. A regular charger is 1 amp. A phone car charger is. 5 amp. That's why if you use the NC charger it's faster.

I want this information in barnesandnoble.com , not fast or slow
the book that comes with the nook states that when the light turns green that it is fully charged and now supplying power to the nook and not the battery (so your battery does not discharge and you can use your nook still), i'm not sure how much more proof you want than this.
As for other chargers, if you get the micro USB Type B (I believe is what it's called), it will charge fast still and SHOULD have auto shut off (since that's built into the nook).
My HTC One had a full discharge a couple days ago. When I got home to plug it in, it showed a blinking red LED and the battery charging animation, but didn't charge at all over a full day. I tried rebooting while still plugged in to the wall charger, which took me to the OS. From the OS I could do anything -- text, call, use Chrome, etc -- but the battery symbol had an exclamation point and the LED was still blinking red. As soon as I took it off the charger, it turned off.
I have tried Power + Volume Down, Power + Volume Up + Volume Down, and the bright light methods.
I was able to restore the phone to a previous backup from TWRP while plugged in, but the problem continues.
Any suggestions?

Try connecting the phone to your computer's USB port. If it charges there, then your charger is bad. You can check to see if is charging by going to Settings -> Power on the phone. If you are using the cable from your charger to connect to the computer and it isn't charging then try another cable. It that works, it may just be the cable that is bad and the rest of the charger is OK.

I have tried multiple cables, including the HTC stock cable and charger. When I plugged the phone into my computer, it did not show the blinking red LED and did not power up. The phone was basically unresponsive. I assume this is from lower amperage from the laptop's USB ports, but could be wrong. The laptop was also plugged into its charger at the time.

The battery is severely discharged. Since, it will not charge via the charger or the computer it looks to be a phone hardware issue. You probably need to take it back to your dealer for servicing. Before you do that, give the connection to the laptop one more go except leave it on the for about an hour or two undisturbed. When batteries are severely discharged, it takes a while for it to recharge enough to give any indication of life.
I ended up sending the phone to HTC. I had modified the kernel and OS, but figured it was worth a shot since the phone was dead and it was still under warranty.
They told me it was out of warranty due to liquid damage. I have no idea how it may have been liquid damaged, but oh well. I wasn't going to pay the $200 to replace the motherboard so I asked them to send the phone back to me.
I received the phone last week and plugged it in. I wanted to make sure I could repeat the symptoms and that HTC hadn't further messed up the phone before I took it to a local repair shop. But what happened when I plugged it in? It came to life and began charging as normal. Either a generous HTC tech fixed my phone for free or the phone needed some interior jostling to get circuits back to normal.
Whatever the situation, my phone has been good as new with all the data just as I left it. For a full week, I've had no problems charging.
what is the best way to test a usb power adapter or a micro usb cable? cause in the past i have had problems where the usb power adapter would say a phone is charging but it really wasn't and once i changed it it was all good, also vice versa with the cable, i know this is a good example to know which one has the problem but i would like to know instantly and not a couple days later is there any way?
For the power adapter just check the energetic plate. You'll see input and output there. As long as the power adapter is [email protected] or [email protected],5A you're good. I actually use [email protected] for faster charging. You shouldn't go above 2,1a or 2100mah or you'll kill your battery. Slowly it will just get worse and worse battery life. Z1 should limit the current, but I would keep it between 1,5-2,1A anyway.
I had been charging my Z1 with a lots of cables and every one of them was good. Just make sure it's not too long like 5m. (electrical resistance matters)
There's also a module in the stock rom that limits the charging current if your device is running hot. The Z1 can also use more power than it is being charged with. I had this when I was watching a movie with a terrible reception. I dealt with it by turning on the flight mode.
I have had my m7 for almost two years and a half now. I faced a problem yesterday that my phone charges very slowly when connected to AC power output or PC USB even if i put it on airplane mode, and even discharges when not on airplane mode.
It charges normally only when connected to my charged power bank.
My power bank charges normally with the same cables and chargers.
Any thoughts on this issue would be appreciated. Thanks!

Slow charging on usb port is normal, most usb 2.0 ports only give a maximum of 500 mA and 900 mA for usb 3.0. Is your AC charger the official HTC charger or not? If not, you are maybe using a charger that doesn't deliver the same current output as the original one, or your orignal HTC charger might be defective. I'm not really surprised that the power bank can charge the phone faster but the AC wall charger should definitively be faster than usb and more than enough to charge your phone without having to set it in airplane mode.
You should change a new one
Well my Samsung galaxy Note 8 won't charge using the plug and cable (original ones), like nothing is there
And tested different plugs too like note 5 plug and my old htc m8 plug too nothing works, but when i plug the usb cable directly to my laptop it charges slowly but does charge, yet if i left it in my laptop and let my laptop go to standby mode (the phone continues to charge) , when i try to open the laptop again it short power and i have to drain the extra electrical surge in the laptop by holdomg down the power key for 20 seconds then restart else it doesn't even power up.
In short, i went to a mobile shop and upon visual inspection and trying different cables and plugs there they told me that the phone has extra surge in power that needs to be drained. But this process requires opening the phones back which will break the glass and i don't want that.
Does anyone have similar problems or know how to fix this?
