Urbane 2 LTE watch bands - LG Watch Urbane

I managed to damage one of the bands for my watch. I searched Amazon, but was unable to find a replacement. This watch has the antenna in the bands, so it needs OEM bands. Does anyone know where I can get replacements?

I would say contact LG.

I tried contacting LG, but they wouldn't sell me the bands alone.

Watch Urbane 2 LTE OEM replacement band
In the event this information hasn't yet made its way to the Internet (I couldn't find it with Google), I found the OEM replacement bands for the LTE Watch Urbane 2 at encompass.com. Here's the details:
Part No. AJE73209201 (side w/o buckle)- $22.50
https://lg.encompass.com/item/10736901/LG/AJE73209201/
Part No. AJE73249101 (side w/ buckle)- $31.88
https://lg.encompass.com/item/10736900/LG/AJE73249101/

I just ordered the buckle side. I'll update if there's any problems with it.

Importing Moto X to Europe

Hi,
does anyone of you imported Moto X to Europe? Did you have to pay import charges? Where did you order your Moto X? I was thinking of ebay.com, but I would like to pay not more than 600 USD, but with import charge it would be much more. Is there any internet shop that selling Moto X and it's not so expensive there?
Thanks for all your response.
Allso thinking about importing a Moto X. But with E-bay things get really expensive. Just plain white or black unlocked Moto X will set you back about 600 dollars incl shipping. Than you allso have to pay customs.
well I ordered yesterday a moto x from ebay. the phone was $549 + $20 shipping + $120 import fee.
total is $690 for an unlocked phone which is $40 more than the dev edition.
I don't really know if this price is okay-ish or if I've been robbed... fact is, this phone seems to have a good battery life and coming from a nexus 4 that can only be an improvement.
I think this phone is worth of its price
So ebay is the only way to order it and have it shipped to Europe?
Been having my eyes on the moto x since it became available in the US. My main concern though is not the price (although the import tax is way too expensive) but if the european carriers' LTE bands are supported by the x. Spending 600$ on a phone and not being able to get the 4G speeds is a setback...
I'm actually hoping for moto to produce an international version but probably just having way too high expectations...
I guess we are stuck with ebay at the moment and a big questionmark regarding LTE bands...

Neither of them ships to Europe (maybe just amazon but there aren't interesting offers).
I also hopes for Google Play Edition, maybe that version will be available in Europe.
I think i saw a recap on the moto x Wikipedia page (the english one) that lists the 4g frequencies that the moto x can use. I think it covers pretty much every common bands.
(I'm one the phone so putting a link here is a bit of a hassle but it should be pretty easy to find)
I have imported a Rodgers moto x to the UK through family. Yes I did get import charges. It needs unlocking I did it through cellunlocker. All works fine.

I bought it from ebay unlocked/unnamed and it works perfect in Egypt (gsm) unfortunately we don't have LTE yet but H+ is really good.
Price on ebay dropped to something like us$ 490.

I think you are referring to this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moto_X
The variants section state the bands.
I still don't think it'll work specifically in my country cause according to this http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_LTE_networks I am on band 3 which is nowhere to be found on the previous link.
Just received it! Rooted, set locale to fr-CA (voice thing doesn't work with fr-FR). I don't have a nano sim yet, I'll try to trim down my existing sim... Either way the real nano sim is coming in the next couple of days.
Active notification is nice. Also, I don't know if this is because I'm mainly using it with USB plugged in but the screen also lights up when you grab the phone. No need to push the power button... It's actually quite nice : just grab the phone and unlock it and you're good to go.

Active display and toucheless controls are awesome, made life easy and fast, also camera initiation by double twisting hand, this phone is a break through and I'm trying to imagine what will be the next moto x generation.

Hi there,
Is there anyone that can confirm LTE on the moto x working in Europe (at dependable good speeds). Living in the Netherlands currently.
Going to the US for Christmas... would like to pick a moto x up (hopefully the wooden backs our then). Only thing that got me concerned is LTE compatibility. My google searches result in contradictive answers.
Motox should support LTE 700 / 850 / 1700 / 1900 (... if someone could confirm this)
If only I would know someone used this phone successfully in the Netherlands (LTE .. 4G at expected speeds and dependable connectively)
thanks in advance!

We could probably help you determine if it would work but you would need to tell us what band(s) your provider uses for LTE in the Netherlands.

wiki shows support for 800, 1800, 2600 (KPN alone supports 800)

I don't think you will see LTE support on the 800 or 1800 mhz frequencies used internationally, however 2600 Mhz is officially supported by the Rogers XT1058 Moto X. If you want to verify you need to look to see if the provider uses "band 7 LTE"
If they do then your best bet is a Rogers Moto X, they can be sim unlocked for 8 dollars or less and Motorola allows bootloader unlocking. There is no branding on the hardware or in the software which is nice. The only disadvantage is they are 16gb only and woven black/white only. I will probably be listing one on ebay or swappa soon myself as I have two of them.

Thanks for the quick response Steve-x
Pardon me for asking. Hope the following is not a dumb questions, but what is a Rogers Moto x? Is this a brand? or is it just a reference to a rooted device? How can I tell a xt1058 model apart from others? (I would really prefer picking a one up when I am in the US next week)
kind of need at least 32gigs... no sd card slot on this thing. However, compromises can not be avoided sometimes.

Not a dumb question at all. Rogers is a mobile phone provider in Canada, they sell the XT1058 version of the Moto X in woven black or white, 16gb only. They are simlocked when new but can be unlocked for 8 dollars or less and they have 2600 mhz band 7 LTE enabled.(this band isn't used in the US) Motorola also allows this version of the Moto X to have the bootloader unlocked which allows for easy rooting and you can flash images from other providers. I am using one myself with a different provider in Canada with the retail version 4.4 installed. There are also no provider logos on the back of the phone which is nice.

Google Fi and dual sim adapter?

I recently got an invite to google fi and I ported one of my phone numbers to there. the service seems pretty solid, being on tmobiles network and sprints network. I wanted to see if I can purchase a dual sim card adapter and then put a att sim card in there also, so on the google fi side id be on tmobile and sprint network (with 1 number), and my other cell phone number be on the att side?
ID assume myself that it should work.
A dual sim adapter would work on wcdma, hspa+, gsm and LTE. So the gsm side of tmobile and att would work through the simcard adapter, as well as the LTE part of all 3 networks. CDMA part would be programmed into the phone not the simcard. Correct me if I'm wrong?

CDMA hook is in the software. Pretty much they have to have the CDMA RILs in the software to enable Sprint and Verizon CDMA radios..
So theoretically a dualsim adapter should work on my nexus 6 with a gfi sim and a att sim?
How would a dual sim adapter fit?
That's the question that should be asked in my honest opinion.
^^ What he said
If there was one, it wouldnt fit into the phone, or it would stick out like a OTG device. Wouldnt be very usable or convenient - better off switching sims as needed.
I actually found a few. They are flex cables that stick out. Not really safe unless you have a case similar to the roocase glacier or something that has space between the back of the phone and the inside of the case. Secondly the software needs to support it.
Yeah these do work for the N6 but not for CDMA
Hi,
Just wanted to mention that I've used a dual-sim adapter with the Nexus 6 and they do work really well, but only for GSM carriers. I used one successfully with Cricket and T-Mobile SIMs and the phone did great switching back and forth and rarely needed a reboot to get it to work. CDMA SIMs *never* worked right, which I'll discuss at length below. Any wrap-around case works well to protect the adapter (the EVOCEL one works *really* well) but the SIM tray will stick out ever so slightly to make room for the ribbon cable that connects the two SIMs which can look a bit weird and disconcerting.
AliExpress has the adapters very cheap (like $3-$5 - order several as you'll probably break them a few times learning to install them in the N6) - I would steer clear of any of the expensive ones like MagicSIM as these have a tendency to break easily and asking $30-$40 for one is insulting IMO considering how delicate they are. Plus the MagicSIM one I had was the worst of the bunch and totally sucked.
Anyway, I tried a bunch of these adapters...MagicSIM and the AliExpress ones...and *none* of them successfully worked with a Verizon or PagePlus (CDMA/LTE) SIM. Sometimes you could get a LTE signal out of the Verizon SIM, but more often than not the SIM Toolkit crashed and it'd require a reboot after which it usually wouldn't work anyway. Oddly enough the CDMA SIMs did work decently in the adapter(s) when used with a Verizon 2013 Moto X I have...*but* the CDMA 1X and EVDO connections never worked...just LTE. I have no clue if a Project Fi SIM would work with these but I'd be extremely skeptical...but eh who knows?
Hope this all helps - it's a freaking shame that Google didn't make the Nexus 6 (and now the 6P and 5X) dual-SIM - such a waste of an amazing LTE/GSM/CDMA radio to not offer a dual-SIM model IMO. Though I'm sure they may have their reasons? Too bad...I live in an area where it'd really help to have two cheap pre-paid plans with Verizon and T-Mo and then string them together with Google Voice. No dice though. Good luck!

Sure - I'll try and throw something together.
Some additional info that I have found - for some really strange reason it seems that these adapters inhibit the reception of certain LTE bands. I've noticed that I can't pick up band 12 LTE with T-Mobile and band 13 LTE with Verizon when using one of these, no matter the ROM in use. But without the adapter I receive both bands perfectly. I do receive band 17 (AT&T) with the adapter which is bizarre as its also low-band just like 12 and 13. Also, bands 2 and 4 work well and I seem to remember band 5 at some point as well when I was in Michigan over the summer using AT&T towers with a Cricket SIM.
So anyway I'd say the use-case for this is if you have two GSM SIMs and don't mind hit-or-miss LTE reception...namely bands 2, 4, (5?) and 17 only though perhaps there are others.
In any case these adapters are temperamental and definitely seem to have their troubles. But they are also kind of neat and there are definitely cases where they'd be useful.

Hi,
Could you recommend an adapter to purchase from aliexpress? I am planning to switch over from Verizon to AT&T and now will have both my lines on AT&T's GSM network so I think I should be good (right?). Also, do the ones on AliExpress support dual active SIMs?
Thanks!
Hi! Honestly the adapters seem to mostly be the same (except for MagicSIM, which was horrible), even though they are sold by different sellers.
I know that I tried this one: http://www.aliexpress.com/item/For-...le-Standby-Flex-Cable-Ribbon/32333186041.html . Make sure you request the proper one though - they have both nano and micro-SIM sizes and you have to say which one you want.
I believe it worked fine and it's not very expensive so you can get a couple of them (I highly recommend buying a few of them as you'll probably destroy one or two of them before you get it to fit in there right). But in any case yes in my experience this scheme worked well with an AT&T SIM (mine was a Cricket SIM but should be the same thing really) and a T-Mobile SIM. Occasionally the SIM Toolkit would crash when changing SIMs and I'd have to reboot but it was pretty rare that that happened. Most of the time it was as simple as selecting the STK app and switching numbers. I should mention though that it took a few reboots initially to get things running correctly following initial installation...almost like everything had to "settle in."
WiFi calling and VOLTE also didn't seem to work with the adapter installed.
Additionally, the "LTE Engineering" app for T-Mobile's Nexus 6 build seems to crash the SIM adapter's firmware, so I think there's probably some data (maybe IMSI or some similar thing) which is getting lost in the adapter's chip? However, "LTE Discovery" and "Signal Check Pro" work just fine and don't cause any problems. Also, there's a chance that one's ROM might have an effect on it as well - it might take some experimentation to find the best combo of factors. Maybe some sort of build.prop edit might help too as I know there are some SIM/telephony items in there.
Finally, the "About Phone/SIM Status" menu in the phone's Settings seemed to always show the phone number that was in use when the phone was booted...but it didn't seem to be an issue as phone calls seemed to come in and work normally no matter what it said.
Good luck! Also I should mention that Amazon.com has these in case you're in the USA and want faster shipping - just pick one that'll fit an iPhone 5 and above and you should be fine. Let us all know how it goes!

Did you report these issues back to the AliExpress sellers (and, out of interest, do you recommend any specific sellers, and are the adapters themselves unbranded and without any model numbers?)

No I didn't report the issues except to MagicSIM, who was worthless even given two messages. As far as branding, there are small variations between the adapters physically but they are not branded as far as I can tell...and I've found they all pretty much work the same.
I do seem to notice some variation in how well the various Nexus 6 ROMs handle the STK, however...some seem to be more receptive than others to the adapter.

Very cool! Thanks for the video.
Just an update on the band 12 issue mentioned above - using QXDM I got band 12 back. It seems that the Nexus is doing some funny business with the NV 6828 item with the adapter installed and effectively squashing band 12 by using an odd decimal value. But, one can re-enable this permanently by adding back in an appropriate decimal in item 6828 per the instructions for adding LTE bands on Qualcomm chips (XDA has several threads on how to do this with QPST and QXDM). VoLTE still doesn't work and neither does WiFi calling (I *think* the ICCID is the culprit) but with full T-Mo band 2/4/12 LTE support I'm a happy camper!

'CDMA Only' Screen Replacement?!

Hello,
I'm very confused.
I live in Israel and I have a Verizon S6 Edge (G925V). The phone is working fine here even though we don't have CDMA network.
As far as I know G925V supports GSM networks (http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_s6_edge_(usa)-7166.php).
My screen has shattered so I ordered this replacement:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/OEM-Samsung...715005?hash=item51f2137f3d:g:UyAAAOSwImRYdBBU
The seller then gave me refund claiming that "This item will NOT work for you if you have GSM. The frame for GSM and CDMA are different, so you would not be able to install this item.".
I'm really confused now, how is this screen different than the screen I originally got with my G925V? What screen do I need? Where to buy it from?
Thanks in advance for your help!

I do not repair phones and have never taken apart an S6 Edge, but I think you ordered the correct part. There are internal design differences for each carrier variant/model since they have to cram so much into a tiny space. The Verizon branded SM-G925V is a phone designed for a CDMA voice network, so the eBay seller is referring to the model of phone when he says "CDMA Only". Yes, the SM-G925V supports GSM but each carrier variant/model has different frequency band support. So, you may want to look into which frequency bands your carrier uses as the phone may only have partial support. Edit: Which model does your local carrier/provider recommend?

I'm just trying to help. Samsung's Smart Switch software allows for very easy migration to another phone. Keep in mind the different models all have different frequency band support, so if you are back in the USA on a global phone the data speeds will likely be slower and of course only GSM/UMTS/LTE support (no CDMA carriers).

NFC, Android Pay, LTE

So i've searched the forum and got an impression this might work.
I have owned AW for 2 years on my Sony SmartWatch 3, it has NFC but AW never activated AP on AW til AW2. I just today ordered a used Urbane2 which is due to get AW2, and based on the AP on AW explanation implies that AP will work on the Urbane when it gets AW2 - right?

So literally once we get AW2 on Urbane we'll get AP?

So i've searched the forum and got an impression this might work.

That is my understanding/hope as well.
When the Android Team announced the upcoming 2.0 release on reddit, the AW team member stated in the comments NFC enabled devices, including the Sport and Urbane 2nd Edition, would be able to use Android Pay.

Also, here is a teardown photo showing the NFC chip in the 2nd Edition.

I just bought one yesterday, its pretty cool, but W2 is when it will become super useful. Why doesn't Urbane 2 have its own thread? Anyone know

Not sure really. Maybe not as many users? A result of the recall in November 2015 of the original release? Who knows. I've had mine since the original release, two days before the recall, and still wear it daily. For my purposes, it's still the best option available for AW.
I didn't know there was a recall! I just picked mine up. Looking into it.

The original release in November 2015 was recalled. It was re-released in March/April of 2016.
It sold briefly for $299 new in November 2015 before the recall then it was released again 2016 for $360 new. That's the AT&T version pricing.
Is there a way to know if you have the recall version or the new hardware version?

Bought mine used, trying to find a hardware number for pre-recall post.

Do you have the original box? There is a SKU number on it. 6387 is the newer release. My original release has 6106 on it.
No I bought it used. Is there another way or a serial number range?

Hmmm I'd have to research about the serial number. They didn't sell very many originally since it was only on sale for a few days so my guess is it's the new version. I haven't had any issues with the original version.
given its 18 months later, the LG Watch Sport looks disappointing specs upgrade, seems a downgrade in battery size (why?) and yet still a big warch and only really chipset improved, given current prices the Urbane2 is about half the price for similar specs. You then have puzzle of the Huawei Watch 2 even higher price for lower specs.
Interest moment coming when AW2 out and then see if AP works. I have rooted phone, AP works (magisk) on phone but the word is not on AW.

If I had to replace my watch for any reason currently, I'd get the U2 again. Other than the rotating crown, the Sport doesn't offer much more for twice the price. Also, for my specific use, there isn't another watch that can provide the same functions. I like being able to forward calls to the watch and leave the phone behind during GPS recorded runs. I was also able to do this while visiting family in France because the U2 includes the 2100 band, the Sport does not. I know that's a rare need, but it was nice to have. My Truphone SIM is global so it worked with no problems.

Good to know, hadn't thought the radio bands. Although puzzling.

says shouldn't get any kind of signal?

Yeah there are a lot of inaccuracies out there. The watch does support B1 2100 band. It definitely worked in France. Select 'specifications' at the top of this site. They don't mention B1, probably because it isn't an AT&T band, but they show support for 2100.

Regarding service, I'm in the united States. What sub carrier can I get a sim from and connect my watch for the cheapest? Ideally I would like Google Fi, but I need a service to add the data Sim. Wish there was a thread for confirmed carriers we can use. I heard TMobile works, but only 3g.

T-Mobile does work with their phone SIM. Some have tried their wearable SIM with little success because they won't allow a non T mobile device on the wearable plan. I originally tried H2O and Ting but couldn't get data to work and there isn't a way to adjust the APN settings. I eventually found Truphone. They are a global SIM that uses AT&T network here in the US. It's 10 cents per minute/SMS/mb with free incoming calls/texts. It's perfect for my use, but if you end up using a lot of data it could add up quickly.

Do you get full LTE? Can I buy it at a store like Walmart or Target near check out?

Good to know. I have ATT and T-mobile SIMs in my OnePlus3T, I was going to try both in the Urbane2 and find out the actual coverage, and then decide what to do next. I was with Straighttalk before ATT, and around here ATT tends to be better coverage than T-mobile. So if Truphone is a ATT based, usage-based for the odd time not with your mobile that might be (agreed) perfect complement. The 9c/MB is the worrying part because its free for incoming and in the context of AW its going to be incoming mostly. Notifications over LTE would add up to a few MB? What is your AW Truphone MB/month type usage off you Truphone bill?

It does receive LTE and actually it's 9 cents per minute/sms/mb with free incoming calls/texts. They are not sold in the store as far as I know. I ordered the SIM online. It was $30 and included $15 of credit. I only activate LTE when I'm running a few times a week. I average about 1MB of data per run so it's costing me $1-$2 dollars a month. FYI, when AW 2.0 arrives it could allow for more data usage if you stream music or download apps away from the phone. I play music from the watch through bluetooth headphones so I don't plan on streaming or downloading apps on LTE.

Looking around U.S mobile seems like an even cheaper alternative. If only using data, but doubt I'll get LTE

Note 5 Motherboard Compatibility

Hey I am new to the forum but I know this is the best place online to go for advice like this.
The problem is this: I have a Note 5 from T-Mobile. The wifi and bluetooth are acting funny, and I am assuming that the wifi chip/motherboard is failing.
I have a Note 5 Motherboard from Sprint that my brother broke, but before i take my phone apart and perhaps do more worse than good trying to squish the other motherboard into it, I wanted to know: Are these motherboards compatible?
I know that with the >Galaxy S6< the CDMA and GSM versions are different. There is a corner of the motherboard where the components are moved a little so the motherboard wont fit snug against the lcd carcass, and ultimately you cant shut the phone completely. All the CDMA variants use the Verizon motherboard so they are certainly compatible. No clue about the GSM variants they all have a different marking for each company.
Is this the case as well with the Note 5? In the pictures I am seeing online, they look identical... but I am afraid they might be generic stock photos of the motherboards so I don't want to rely on that.
Alternatively, are the GSM variants compatible with each other? If i bought one from ATT could i put it in a T-Mobile phone? Or does it have to be the EXACT SAME MODEL?
SUMMARY OF QUESTION: Are the N920P and N920T motherboards swappable? Are GSM variants of the Note 5 generally swappable? (N920A N920T N920M, etc)
Thanks in advance for any help!
N920 Note 5 variants and logic board compatibility
You would not believe, despite how simple and necessary your question is, that you'll not find the answer hardly anywhere on the internet. I know where I've searched will tell me if the frame for the Verizon version of an n920p would fit the logic board from an in 920p Sprint motherboard. Actually you've given me more insight than anywhere else of red from, in that there must be extra or less Electronics fastened to the GSM version. If you would have to slam it into your CDMA formed case, then that would absolutely defeat the purpose of having a 4 gigabyte RAM Qualcomm awesome processor $550 phone. From what I hear however, all of the Note 5 series phones are capable of transmitting and receiving all frequencies, CDMA and GSM. Of course the n920p than I have focuses on wcdma bands and LTE bands. As a matter of fact I can't even get it to work on a GSM carrier, even though I've spent at least $50 and 15 hours trying to get it unlocked to do so. And I agree with what you had stated at the beginning, if there is a place to find the answer than this would be it. So why don't want to view phone know every damn thing all people please let us know, can I put a T-Mobile motherboard from a note 5 inside of my Note 5 that I got from Sprint? Thank you. And I will go ahead and let you know I have done the conversion over to n920p I, I think I currently am running a firmware from Pakistan or maybe Uganda. The phone is quite simple to root even at the 7.0 level firmware, I've changed the IMEI, I can change the location to make it appear that I'm in Paris France and Dallas Texas at the same time, but I can't get the thing to run on a GSM frequency and a carrier that's based here in the US.
