Bricked Gear 2 Neo - Samsung Gear 2 Neo

Hi guys...a friend of mine bricked his Gear 2 Neo when he was trying to flash the stock firmware with Odin. The problem is that he accidentally left the "Re-Partition" option checked and, after the flashing was complete, the Gear didn't boot past the bootanimation anymore. After the Samung Gear 2 bootanimation, the smartwatch just turns off (or the screen goes black, idk). Tried to flash again the stock firmware (and different versions) but nothing works.

if you can get to odin mode, you should be fine. Try flashing this tar.md5 file in odin

Thank you for helping. I've flashed the file on both AP and CSC but it didn't work...after the boot logo, the smartwatch turned off...just like when I tried to flash the stock firmware. I've tried to flash the Android Wear ROM and I managed to get into TWRP and I've tried to format system, data and cache but TWRP gave me the error "unable to mount /" for all partitions. Partitions are messed up but I don't know how to restore them some other ideas?

Already found that thread and that PIT file but when I try to flash it, ODIN says "FAILED"...so I looked for another PIT file and found this site. With the PIT of this site, ODIN flashed everything without errors but the smartwatch still doesn't boot tried different ROMs (the stock tizen one and different versions of the android wear ROM port) on both AP and CSC but no result at all..maybe I'm missing something, so if you have precise instructions on how to flash this PIT file it would be nice. At this point, I'm really desperate :crying:

man, im not too familiar with flashing PIT files, other than trying to avoid it at all costs unless the partition table has been messed up. I dont think youre missing anything tho. Ive read that having to reflash the tizen tar.md5 a couple of times back to back with the reboot box unchecked has been a successful thing for some folks. But youre gonna just want to use the AP selection in Odin tho

Try to install stock firmware again and check RE-PARTITION option in odin

The re partition box was checked only when I had flashed the stock firmware together with the PIT file but not when I had flashed the Android Wear ROM.

right on. Glad to hear that youre back up and running!!

Didnt want to create a new thread since I am having a similar issue and tried to use the solutions from this thread, to no avail.
I got a refurbished Gear 2 Neo as gift and it was working okay. However, some apps such as heart rate didnt function. Also, I couldnt transfer music to the device and some other things, so I decided to do a factory reset on it from the settings menu. Watch has not functioned since.
I can get to the reboot menu (continue, download, recovery, shutdown). If I press continue it will show the gear 2 boot screen, then the samsung boot animation =, then black screen. If I press download, it takes me to the download option and I can flash files through odin with no errors. However, when it reboots, same black screen. If I try the recovery option, same thing.....black screen. If it is of and I plug it in, it vibrates and charges, but I cannot get it to boot past the samsung animation.
I have tried flashing a PIT file, stock FW, tizen ROM......nothing works. I got a refurb because I wanted this exact watch, but it is discontinued. I am not new to flashing. I have a rooted and flashed a Galaxy s5, my current phone Note 4 and y current tablet, a samsung Note 10.1 2014.

No longer soft bricked. I followed the recovery instructions from the android wear thread and I was able to switch back to Tizen
Going back to Tizen
BE ADVISED: GOING BACK TO TIZEN MIGHT PROVE DIFFICULT TO ANYBODY WITHOUT KNOWLEDGE OF THE WATCH, SDB, ADB, AND ANYONE WHO DOESN'T USE ODIN. DON'T PM ME FOR IT. IT'S WRITTEN BELOW. ASK IN THE Q&A SECTION PLEASE. THIS IS A DEVELOPMENT THREAD, AND THESE IMAGES ARE FOR DEVELOPMENT ONLY.
BE ADVISED (again): There's no PIT file for this watch. If your favourite flashing app for samsung phones requests one, use Odin. I know, I don't like it either. But we live in a world full of virtual machines with the ability to share USB ports. Now it's your chance to use them if you don't feel like installing Windows in your machine.

1. Flash this file: http://www.mediafire.com/download/3c...ll-Restore.tar
2. When it fails to boot and the screen goes blank, reboot to the bootloader menu and select recovery.

[Q] Need PIT File for SCH-I800 VZW Galaxy Tab

Does anyone have the PIT file for use with the factory VZW Firmware. I found a copy of the original firmware to load with Heimdall and can get it to basically bring up a Samsung logo and I can get to download mode only.
I have tried 512 and 513 both give the same results. I can see the device when I do an ADB devices poll and I can reboot the phone into recovery and download but recovery hangs at the samsung logo as well.
Not a full blown brick since I can talk with it and work with it, I just need the correct files to reload.
Thanks in advance!!!
Anybody?
Are there any other possibilities as to what could be the root cause if its not the partition table? suggestions for ways to test?
Major Update!!!
Used Odin 1.7 to repartition with the P1 Pit, then switched to Heimdall to load a Verizon backup posted on another forum.
After about 5 mins in heimdall load the phone rebooted and now gives me access to the recovery mode but even after a wipe and reset the phone seems to bootloop at the verizon logo.
Definitely now know that for future Verizon is running the P1 Pit or at least close to it. 512, 513, and 803 would only freeze at samsung.
Edit.
I also now have regained access to the ADB shell, before I had adb and could see the devices but Shell came back with a "cannot locate in /system/bin/su"
Anybody have any suggestions on getting passed the revolving the Verizon bootup? just loops and vibrates.
Have you made any progress on ur tab? I am in the same exact situation, everytime i flash with heimdall 1.1.0 or 1.1.1 and the verizon stock rom found in the forums, my tab gets the phone and computer yellow triangle warning, the only way i can get it out is by using odin 1.70 and either the p1_add_hdden or the 909 pit to get it back to the verizon logo but with the vibrations and looping. If anyone has a known good pit file please please post it or direct me on how to extract one from my brothers tab.
Unfortunately my nandroid backup fails the md5 when i try using odin and im missing using it sooooo much :-(. thank you in advance for any help and i just have to say i try not to post as much as possible and do all the research i can but i am hitting a wall here and ive tried for days now
I am also in the same boat. I need a working PIT file
This is what you'll have to do
1. Turn off your device
2. Hold up volume button + power button
3. As soon as you see the Samsung logo, release the power button
4. With the up and down volumne button move up and down on the menu and select wipe data/factory reset option
5. Then press home
6. Finally, wait until it finish and select the reboot system now option and then press home
1. Make sure you have the drivers installed. If not search and download the Heimdall application and extract contents to a directory and look for the drivers directory. Then select Samsung USD composite device and then Install the driver.
2. You'll need to search for the correct stock file for youtr tab, then load it using the Heimdall program, follwing this instructions:
- The zImage goes in both the Kernel AND Recovery slot.
- The system.rfs goes in Factoryfs
- The Param.lfs goes in Param.lfs
- And the cache goes in the cache slot.
3. Finally hit Start
4. When it finish, you got to follow my post above
Bump for this thread. I need to restore my tab and need a working pit file. Anyone figure this out?
I'm in the same boat, got my tab jtagged and now need working Verizon .pit file to repartition. Has anybody got one yet?
Me too, somebody help me to find .PIT for verizon galaxy tab 7
BUMP... dl mode works heimdall flashes correctly but even after recovery mode cache and data wipe it still bootloops with the triple vibrate cant get past it... i assume it has something to do with the partitions from rfs to ext4 sooooooooo please can someone find a working cdma pit file
I'm in the same boat as you guys, really need a valid verizon pit file after a bad flash. Any help would be much appreciated!!
Try this pit file from my VZW tab.

If you can go to Recovery mode, try if you can successfully do a factory wipe. If you see error messages while doing factory wipe. Please include it to you post.
Please also specify what version of android you had last.
Download heimdall 1.3.1 then install. You can down pit file from it.

[Q] Cannot boot or enter recovery (CM9 20120425)

Flashed today's CM9 nightly as usual through CWM recovery (ultimate-kernel-cleaning-script, ROM, GApps), came to the point of rebooting and am now stuck with the white-on-black Galaxy S GT-I9000, SAMSUNG screen.
I can't get into recovery, but I can get into download mode.
Where should I go from here?
Same here
I am in the exact same situation. I really didn't want my first post on here to be a beg for help but I promise I'll contribute after
My computer can detect the device when I plug it in but I can't access it from explorer. I am running good old XP. I have done a bit of googling and it looks like I need Odin so I've got that. How are you doing with it PrinterElf? I'll keep this thread updated with my progress, hopefully it might help you too.
Could be a doozie this one...
I've asked the question on the CM forums too, so I'll see what happens!
I think you, like me, can get it to boot to download, I can get Heimdall to connect, but have no idea what I should be flashing to get back to recovery again!
From http://ics.samsung-updates.com/trouble, should also work for CM9:
"Put phone in Download mode and use FixRecovery.tar.md5 in Odin as PDA, uncheck auto-reboot option.
After flash reboot to recovery with 3-button-combo and CWM flash proper ICS kernel and reboot"
http://ics.samsung-updates.com/trouble/FixRecovery.tar.md5
Heimdall eh?
I rooted my phone using SuperOneClick and have been flashing new ROMs using ROM Manager so this is the first time I've heard of Heimdall. I'm downloading it now.
I'll let you know if I find those files, I can't find a useful thread anywhere
Edit: Didn't see adsdf's post when posting this. Thanks for pointing us in the right direction
---------- Post added at 09:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:50 PM ----------
Followed adsdf's instructions and Odin seemed to think it had done the job. Tried booting into recovery but it's still 'eating a big bowl of boot-loops' I'm not sure if Windows is talking to the phone though so I'm downloading the drivers now (give me a virtual slap if I should have done this already).

She's in recovery! Thank you so much adsdf!
Nearly there...
Okay, she'll boot into recovery but I don't have a ROM or any backups on her. I can't seem to be able to browse the phone in Windows Explorer even if I hit mount USB storage in recovery. I've managed to transfer 'fixrecovery.tar.md5' from Odin so I should be able to flash a ROM in the same way... right? Everywhere I search all I can find is ROMs in zips I've seen threads where people have flashed ROMs in .md5 format using Odin, where are they getting these ROMs? It seems like the solution for me.

I think in your case it would be best to go back to a stock rom first so you have a clean base to start from.
- Download any rom from
http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9000&r=1#regiona
for example I9000XXJVU. these are all odin flashable
- In Odin: "CODE..." or "PDA..." as PDA, "PHONE..." or "MODEM..." as PHONE and "...CSC..." as CSC with PIT 512 with repartition checked
(Im sure you have done this before, right? if not, theres a lot of instructions on that out there)
- after that phone should boot
- flash a proper kernel and rom if you want
Right, back and firing on most cylinders, and this is how I did it!
Download and flash this with Odin
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/xxjvu/
Reboot into download mode again, flash this with Odin
http://www.theandroidsoul.com/root-xxjvu-firmware/
Reboot into CWM recovery
Install CM9 nightly & GApps
Reboot
Spend all morning restoring apps from Titanium Backup!
Thank you
Just followed PrinterElf's method and have just rooted my phone again using Odin. I'm about to flash the latest CM9 nightly, I wish I could take the screen unlock with me, it works well on that stock ROM.
Thanks again

You're left with only one option: Odin. Download any stock rom with a stock bootloader to repair your recovery mode, flash it using Odin, then flash a semaphore or midnight control kernel.
Good luck!
kinda same problem
previously was on teamhacksung b17 with gapps 20120304. no MODIFICATIONS!!!
today i updated with the latest nightly (update-cm-9-20120427-NIGHTLY-galaxysmtd-signed) with same gapps as above.
after reboot it did some updating gapps and loaded into home screen.
i turned the phone off becoz i wanted to insert the extSD and simcard which i removed before the update process.
second time i booted the phone, it started giving me bootloops. cant go into recovery either. only download mode available.
so i opened odin and put all the files in their places connected the phone in download mode on. windows did not recognize the device..... installed samsung usb drivers v1.4.2.2 ... tried it again. problem has not yet been resolved, any suggestions veteran people.

Bricked Galaxy TAB 8.9 (GT-7300) - $20 reward for working solution

Hi,
So, I got a Samsung Galaxy TAB 8.9 (GT-7300) WiFi+3G. Nordic/European version. I have a long history of rooting and running custom ROM's on my Android devices, but this time i f##ed up a bit.
1. Installed root_original.zip from this thread by copying it on to the tablet and applying it from stock recovery.
2. Booted and installed Superuser and ROM Manager from Market.
3. Used ROM Manager to install CWM for Galaxy Tab 10.1 (Yes, I know...).
4. Tab would not boot, but I could still get in to download mode. Browsed some XDA threads and came across this guy who seemed to have the same problem. I did not see that he had a P7310 (WiFi only) tablet. So, I used Odin 1.85 to install the bootloader, which was for the P7310, not for P-7300. Now, the tablet boots but the display is just flickering, like it is using a wrong refresh rate or wrong resolution. Not at all possible to read anything, but I can still get into Download mode.
5. Installed stock rom from here, specifically this one: P7300XWLA2------2012 January----P7300NEELA1-----Nordic countries----
Still no luck. The tablet boots into Android but the display is still flickering.
$20 for anyone who gets me out of this mess
Can you come in recovery ?
Than try this?

There is an option in CWM under the mount and storage tab where stands mount usb connection click on that and move this to your tab after that install it
I hope it will work!
You could also try the Swedish firmware: http://hotfile.com/dl/146666862/13403b2/P7300XWKL4_P7300NSEKL1_NSE.zip.html
The NSE are usually pretty much the same as NEE with some swedish bloatware. Worth a try I guess.
Also see this guide for how to use Odin in case you did something wrong: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1406137
One thing that I've noticed when flashing with Odin is that even if I check the F.reset checkbox it still does not do a factory reset (at least it did not do it for me). You should be able to do a factory reset using the stock recovery.
Oh and btw, my advice is for free.
Hi safariking,
I can get in to recovery, but I'm unable to read anything, as the display is just flickering. I would need a press-by-press guide in order to perform the steps correctly... :/
Thanks kallt_kaffe, I'll try the swedish firmware and follow the guide step-by-step

If you turn it off and charge it, is the charging-mode-display also distorted?
Also if I were you I would leave it on in download or recovery mode and let the battery drain completely. Worth a shot I guess.

If I turn it off it automatically turns back on and boots Android. So I can't see if the "charging while turned off" icon is also distorted.

When I flash a complete ROM with Odin (e.g. the Swedish ROM you suggested) - is there anything left to flash that could be causing this? If I were to return the tablet to the dealer, will there be any evidence of dumb-user-flashing?

I honestly do not know.
Have you tried flashing the PIT file (in the PIT section) along with the ODIN image (in the PDA section)? You can download the PIT file so you can click on Repartition, right here. It's a very small file. Be sure you have F.Reset Time checkmarked too. Best of lucks.
If you flash a bootloader for P7310 so when you trying to flash P7300 ROM with odin, the bootloader will mapping all file just like P7310 with their partition Layout.. I think the pit file is not the solution..
First you need turn back the bootloader to original form.. I dont know where I can find P7300 bootloader..
After you finish with the bootloader, try to install P7300 Stock rom, with pit file and repartition..
I dont know if this post will help you.. but it worth to try..
EDIT:
maybe you can use firmware from P7300ZSKH5 from this link
This file include with bootloader and pit file..
Flash with Odin like image below
Sorry for my english..

Have you tried flashing the PIT file (in the PIT section) along with the ODIN image (in the PDA section)? You can download the PIT file so you can click on Repartition, right here. It's a very small file. Be sure you have F.Reset Time checkmarked too. Best of lucks.

Re-partitioning with the PIT file along with the ROM did not help :/

Thanks for your suggestion, but unfortunately: no luck.
Just to be sure this isn't a compatibility issue on my computer, I set up a clean install Win7. I'm using x64, could this be an issue?

As long as you have the right drivers installed, no. That's my setup.
I had a similar issue. It occured only when I turned display off and on, both in android and in battery charging mode while powered off. I just went back to the store and got it replaced. xD
Anyway the flickering began to show up after flashing 3.2 back from a 4.0 rom... So I think there was something wrong with the bootloader.. Didnt find any tar file containing the original bootloader.. Perhaps someone here can make it for you
hey,
i got same problem after i tried to install cm9. now i cant install nothing (i formated cash, data, system and preload) no data factory reset working. i have nonstop bootloops and format cache and dalvik not working but cwm ist starting but not working really. but can start download mode too ... so i think its not a super-brick for my gt 7300 from switzerland.
so, i will try to download from samMobile the original firmware and to flash with odin. anybody knows a tutorial with odin for gt 7300? cant find nothing for pit, csc, tar ...
please help me
thx sophie from switzerland

I have to say, I was about to send the tablet to samsung, it was dead, no rom, no boot, no partition, no USB connection to store, what save me was the Odin up load that you recommended me, the tablet was really crashed.
I Think that is a sollution for actually almost any problem on the tablet (a complete format, sure, but still a good solution for ROM problems).
anyway, Many Thanks!!!!!!
Newbie try to help.
Have you try to install another CMW version using odin? Maybe it's caused by wrong CMW version. Try CMW v5.5.0.4 here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1312218

managed some soft bricks in how not to root. Odin up & waiting if a dev comes up with it
I am also waiting for the root!
not sure if it would work, but im working on a rom right now that is pre-rooted, but like i said i dont think that it will work,, i hope someone makes a cwm recovery soon
I'm currently trying to create a prerooted rom the way I did it for my tablet.
Extracting the system image from the Update package was easy, currently I'm trying to mount the syste,.img to set the rights and add the SU binaries.
If this works out, how can I flash this ROM?
With KIES? Or Update.zip on SD?
Is there an Update mode, and how can I get there?
edit: Okay... I was able to mount the System.img, but this is not that straight forward as in the img of my tablet.
I found a lot of folders, but no .apk, known folder or something I could work with.

Have you tried adb shell?. I am not allowed to post outside links, but if you type "londatiga net/it/how-to-use-android-adb-command-line-tool/" in Google, you will get the appropiate link
Could you explain with some derail how did you unbricked the phone?
Thanks a lot

Hi guys, I'm pretty new here.
I was wondering if there is any official 4.1.1 Jellybean for SIII Mini, 'cause my phone is pretty dead at this moment. I tried to download from official servers some packages , and use them with Odin ...but the phone is still at the main screen " Samsung Galaxy S III Mini GT-I8190 ". Any ideas how to manage with this ?
Or can I use another firmware, as 2.3.4 Gingerbread? To downgrade the device just to work?

Do you tried to get some of this firmwares:
samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I8190
and installing with:
trickytweaks.com/i8190xxaljl-4-1-1-jelly-bean-update-gt-i8190-s3-mini-how-to.htm
Yes, I have tried with my provider's firmware , but nothing happened. Still at logo screen. I have also tried with other firmwares, but still at a dead end. Right at this moment I'm flashing my phone again, hoping that something will change.
Had it stuck by flashing custom boot.img. Solved it by flashing 1 file image from samfirmwares as pda in Odin 1.85 default settings

I have succesfully extracted the PIT file from my S3 mini with the Heimdall software, but I don't wanna use it to flash with Odin because I think it's pretty messed up. Can anyone provide me with their Galaxy S3 Mini PIT file, hoping to rescue my dead phone ?
no boot into recovery mode and wipe data/cache that should get the phone booting again, esppecially after flashing firmwares with odin

Well, if the recovery mode can be accessed with Volume Up + Home + Power, then I can say that my S III Mini won't get into it.If I press these buttons the phone just gets on, and remains at Samsung Logo. So that is why I'm asking for a PIT file, 'cause I can't get into recovery mode to erase all data, so I can flash my phone again using Odin.
I have tried all official firmwares and still nothing. I guess my SIII Mini partitions are a little (or a little more) messed up, and I need to use Re-Partition from Odin so I can revive my phone. And to do this I need a PIT file from a working phone.
Or there is another way to get into recovery mode, excepting Volump Up + Home + Power?
Thanks for the answers.

Well, the NsPro tool requiers a box, that costs 170$. The program is useless without that box. I have downloaded it and doesn't work without that box.Another solution is by using a JTAG box, which does the pretty same thing, but again, it is expensive.
I was thinking that if I'll repartion my phone it will resolve the boot.img file, because it's in the "softbrick" at this moment.
helpline
Have you tried emailing or phone SAMSUNG`s helpline, they might help.
Write this image file whit odin 1.85 and voala you phone revive.
Pls use tanks buton
That param.tar file I saw it is for S II . Does it work for a S III mini too? Aren't 2 different devices?

[Q] bricked N7000. how to get working again

I tried upgrading my international N7000 to CM10.3 following the instructions in
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_n7000
but now the phone won't even boot into the recovery, all it shows is
Samsung
GALAXY Note
GT-N7000
/ \
/ | \
/--*-\
When i tried flashin from my Mac iusing Heimdall,
the download finished on the mac, but on the N7000
it still showed the blue line etc. I waited a lng time and tried
rebooting, but got the above.
Re-flashing in Heimdall had no effect.
I then tried flashing
hardcore-speedmod-ics-recovery-n7000.tar
using Odin 3.185 from my VMwars Fusion XP install,
and that seemed to finish ok, but no luck either.
I looked for the latest CWM 6.0.4.3 recovery, but I cannot find any
odin-flashable format for it, and of course I cannot use the sdcard
as I cannot even boot into any recovery as is.
Can anyone suggest next steps?

1st things 1st. Why would u use heimdall or odin? And what is your current ROM before trying to flash CM 10.3, was it stock? You should have looked for CWM recovery or Philz safe kernels as base when doing ROM flashing ESPECIALLY custom roms. From what you said, then can you still boot into download mode? I have no knowledge of heimdall so just download Stock Firmware, flash it with odin and see if you can boot your N7000 first.
The worst case scenarios is you are experiencing emmc bug-brick. go to the thread and read carefully to deduce your type of 'brick' and find solutions there. Good Luck.
I was on a stock 4.0.4 (but rooted). I originally tried flashing the cwm from the sd card, but after starting to load it it also just hung,
so I looked for an alternative..
I found a post on stockroms (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1424997) but the links all point to hotfile.com. which my browser says it cannot find. is hotfile dead? Is there an alternative?

I'm sorry so did u succeed or did you not succeed in installing the custom rom? If your custom rom boots fine then all u need is to search for solving status 7 error thread. My advice to all noobs is to always try n avoid installimg anything except stock rom in odin. Always read and re read before flashing anything that's beyond your knowledge. Basic knowledge of flashing cusroms is :
1. ALWAYS make sure you're on SAFE and COMPATIBLE KERNEL. Most rom threads ALWAYS Include threads/links to a specific recovery/kernel to use. Read n RE READ that.
2. Wipe everything IN RECOVERY mode before flashing a rom.

If you're able to boot up properly n prompted to wipe, then do it. But do it in recovery not on device.
Ok, I downloaded one of the stock kernels for my internatinal N7000, but flashing that with Odin 3.185 hangs about 3/4 through (has now been
sitting there for >60 mins).
Looks like I am screwed?
The file I found is KIES_HOME_N7000XXLT4_N7000OXALT4_1103517_REV02_user_low_ship.tar.md5
I f I wanted to try flashing this with Heimdall, I'd need to know partition numbers I think
Where can I get those?
Or should I get another file?

Before that, do u have KIES installed? KIES is NOT compatible with odin and will cause potential trouble. So is some firewall and antivirus apps. You need to disable all of them before using odin. Please search the thread http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ for stock rom site.

Of course you fail... When using ODIN, U should have downloaded the .tar. if you downloaded a zip. then unzip it first to get the tar file, then you flash it with odin. All requests are included in the stock.tar And PLEASE DO NOT Play with PIT files if you don't know what you are doing.
So now what you need to do is. :
1. DISABLE KIES (Uninstall it better), Your firewall, antivirus.
2. Install CORRECT Samsung USB driver. (Search keyword "download samsung N7000 usb drivers")
3. Unzip your zip file and extract the tar.file.
4. Run ODIN as Administrator (Right click/run as)
5. Go to download mode. connect your device to Pc/laptop.
6. Wait until Odin detects your device, click AP/PDA and choose the tar file you extracted.
7. DO NOT tick partition.
8. Let it run
Of course I unzipped the zip to get a SINGLE .tar.md5, but flashing that fails on factoryfs about 3/4 through. consistently.
