Dear Community,
So I'm using the Nexus 6 with 32gb and after flashing a custom rom (Chroma Rom) I noticed that I'm missing ~3gb free total space.
So I searched around a bit and using logcat i found some partitions that were 1.4gb and had almost no data on it (less than 1mb).

Is this the missing space? Is there a way to add these back to the "normal" partition so they can be used?

generally, when you flash a rom, itll wipe out all your different caches, which can take a lot of space. anyways, if you don't ever wipe out your caches manually, it can be a HUGE amount of space.

Oops, sorry, I meant total space, not free space! Before I had something 26gb-ish and now there's only 23,03gb left..

My phone is showing that I have at least another gb of storage where my apps are stored. However, I can't use any more storage for apps. It maxed out at 1gb for apps. How do I enable more space other than moving apps to my ext sd?

What exactly do you mean "it maxed out at 1gb for apps"? Are you getting the Insufficient Space error when trying to install apps? If so, try this: Manage Applications/All/Market/Uninstall Updates/Clear Cache and if that doesn't work also Clear Data.
Good luck.
Also, many people have success by simply ignoring the error message and retrying the install.
Is uninstalling updates and deleting caches to clear space? My phone has plenty of space but I can't seem to use it.

No, those are steps that have worked in the past to prevent getting the "Insufficient Space" error when trying to download and install apps from the market.

I just had this error last evening (insufficient space). I did just what you suggested, and it worked the second time. Curious.....
Thank you. Your suggestion worked. The weirdest thing is that Android is now reporting more storage.

I just bought a new 32gb memory card, and im curious if it's possible to merge my two internal storage partition into one big ROM partition?
Currently the interal storage is divided like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
Is it possible to merge this in to one partition, so that I don't need to have 3 different partitions when I use my SD card?
nope thats not possible at all. not in my knowledge. both are totally different type of storage with different allocated addresses, one being much faster than other. plus when u plug ur phone to a computer or to a usb
the memory card is not readable by the phone during that time. So no you cant merge the two.

Ah, okay. I thought the two partitions came from the 16 GB storage.
If I recall correctly, I think I saw a post on how to it do a long time ago. Couldn't seem to find it again though.

You're correct, the two partitions do come from the 16 GB emmc.:good:
But still, you can't merge them.

Maybe you haven't enough space on the internal memory, if your device is rooted, check it ,)
BTW samsung app it isn't good for me, so you don't lose too much if it doesn't work xD
My internal memory is over 30Mb, is that enough?
Haha, you're so funny...
I never use samsung apps before, i'm just wondering if it can update my apps like camera or messaging, etc Cz i'm using stock rom. Is it can? Or not?

No, the only way to update those apps are flashing a new Stock rom using Kies or Odin and there aren't (too much) changes or important fixes in the latest releases... so if you want to change or improve those apps root your phone and flash a Custom rom
Okay, it's useless then...
Thank you so much...

Dear XDA,
I've freshly installed Maximus HD 45. And it's working, no problems there.
But when I look at my storage I see something strange. I have 12.10gb used by 'Other'.

}
I've found some strange paths on my phone (taken from WiFi File Transfer Pro):
../storage/emulated/0/
../storage/emulated/legacy/
../storage/sdcard0/
They all seem to redirect to my internal storage.
Probally some leftover bugs from previous custom roms?
Is it possible to completely clean my storage without removing TWRP and Maximus HD? Or in worst case scenario I don't mind reinstalling a clean Maximus HD. But I prefer not to do to much modding on the phone, like installing a different RUU. Currently I live in Zanzibar and I have limited options (and internet!) when something goes awohl.
If it's a whole lot of effort I keep it like this. It's annoying but I can live with it. But if it's an easy fix then I would gladly do that!
Thanks in advanced!
Lennard
that's normal. to see what's using up your space I recommend you use this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mobile_infographics_tools.mydrive
I'm not a huge expert on the technical side of Android devices but in my experience, those are the three common file paths to access internal storage. I do not know the exact reason as to why there must be three file paths. But it is normal. Nothing to worry about.

Hi to all!
I've just flashed the Samsung official Marshmallow firmware on my Galaxy Tab S 8.4 LTE, I took some screenshots in case anyone is interested in seeing it.
I forgot to wipe before flashing with Odin, but all my configurations, apps and accounts seem to have fared just fine in the updated system. I was using SucukROM by @TimurAlaskara_TR and not stock Samsung Lollipop. SuperSU obiously is not working since I've not flashed TWRP yet.
Only app that seems to have problems is Gallery, it works but it gives me an error nearly every time I exit with "back" button.

Thinks it appear the ROM is the same as lollipop?

My Files seemed to have the same problem as Gallery. It appears it's solved just by clearing data of the two apps from applications menu.
any noticeable performance improvement?
Pls share mega download link for this rom. Tq

This is a difficult question, I've had the tablet for less than a month and used very little stock Lollipop, I've mostly been trying custom roms. I would say perhaps some more fluid window opening/closing animation and a little less battery consumption while in use... But I cannot say for sure. I remember that I had a worse general impression of stock Lollipop when I tried.
