Your tab might have come with the defective battery as mentioned by Samsung on some units. Bring your tab to Samsung and if it is so they will replace it free of charge.
I don't think a video conf app like oovoo can cause excessive battery drain.
Hello,
Did anyone manage to root the T-Mobile Note 4 without tripping Knox? Please let me know if anyone found a way to do it by not using cf auto root.
Nope.

IMHO, HOSE KNOX - The only thing that is going to happen is that it will void your Warrenty. If you also have insurance, which you should for a $700 phone, you are good to go because you'll probably drop it.
Slipery little devils, these phones. My carrier support guy was all like, "What I would never tell you to do is..." "...but you shouldn't do that. I couldn't possibly reccomend it."
The problem here in Canada we don't have phone protection with Wind Mobile so I wanna try to keep Samsung's warranty as much as I could because I am starting to already see a problem with the call quality with the phone speaker not the stereo speaker but the ear speaker.
I need root because I need to change the stock Samsung font and I wasn't able to use the font I want with flipfont.
OIC, but for $700 USD I would RMA that sucker immedilately. Especially for what sounds like hardware issues.

Hello XDA,
After 6months with this tablet I have found that the processor in my model smt700 can't handle frequencies over 1.6ghz .
When first purchased with stock kitkat the screen flickered a few times then with the OTA lollipop the screen flickered even more so.
After rooting with king root it was then that I could set and test the frequencies and voltage and my conclusion after intensive testing was that my tablet could only be stable running at 1.6 ghz... thumb down !!
At first I didn't trip knox and just flashed tw based Rome with flashfire and after still having screen flickering issues with unexpected reboots I flashed twrp and CYANOGENmod 12 with the same cpublisher overloading at over 1.7ghz...
I have now called samsung who provided me with a prepaid shipping label (Ups) and was told to in luce the original charger and take of screen protector and any case.. as well I have to put o the outside of the box a service number for my service request...
I hope that Samsung won't be so evil with my product and refuse to provide service since my knox is at 0x2 ! !
At worst maybe the refashioned the device to new and at best a WORKING replacement but at worst a complete refusal of service to my device would put a nail in the coffin as for me ever purchasing another SAMSUNG device tablet, computer or T.V.
Samsung told me the expected turn around for the servicing should be around 14days.. I will post the result once my smt700 has returned...
Thanks XDA you have always been more helpful than any of the OEM's...
P.S. has any member here returned there knox tripped tablet for service or replacement with Samsung ??
Isn't the issue when you trip KNOX that repairs which would be covered for free under warranty now going to cost you despite being only 6 months into ownership? I suspect they will just ask for a credit card number before executing your requested repairs. If you refuse they may even charge you for shipping the unit back without any changes.

Make sure you put it back to complete stock before sending it in.
You never know.
Also not sure how your knox counter has got to 0x2. Mine always stays at 1 no matter how many times I've flashed it.
I have sent in multiple devices with Knox tripped....never an issue. People make such a big deal over nothing. I have NEVER heard of warranty issue due to Knox tripped.
Thank you very much for the reply suzook.
With your response it made my waiting much more hopefull...
I will report back with Samsungs actions regarding my device...

It's the flash counter, have you flashed 208 times?
No I haven't flashed 208 times.
3 tw roms, 2 kernels, cyanoGenmod, and flash twrp once...

It only seems to do this when non stock roms are flashed.
Maybe it's just a hex code.

You just have to be lucky, some Samsung service center takes modification and rooting very seriously, other will just ignore it.
[UPDATE]
SAMUNG returned my device with documentation about what they did. The turn around from me shipping and my tablet retuning to me was a week..
Samsung states that they soldered a part on the device and i must say "The tablet is like new"
i am very happy so far...
as far a knox it is still tripped at the same state i left it at oxo208...
great job samsung. they fixed my knox tripped device...
"i wish i would have sent it in a while ago".
thanks...

Hey guys, so I've gotten this kernel panic that's resulted from apparently this "Charger is WDT expired" and I've googled haven't found a single thing save for the deep discharge issue. I haven't been affected by that (or have I? I've been to 0 with device powering off 2x since new & no issues w it taking charge) . Does ANYONE know what this means? Let me note that I am rooted on samfail v2.5, U2 BL, BQL5 build and BQK2 baseband.
Also, I just was informed by the "Samsung phone info" apk that my battery health is only @ 49.45%(??? Got the thing brand new at the very end of November) Does this mean that I've lost just over FIFTY percent of my overall capacity that Sammy claimed would retain at least 90% at one year of use? Any help/insight would be greatly appreciated due to that and the several kernel panics I've had would mean that battery IS unhealthy then I need to make sure i start on getting a replacement ASAP. Thanks in advance guys.
If you have had your device for under 14 days then I would take it back for a replacement unit.

You didn't read the post at all did you?
If, root is no problem for warranty purposes, go asap to claim warranty
Ok thanks. Not what I wanted to hear but at least I know what step to take now. Thanks for your help guys.
Will Samsung replace my Phone due to deep discharge battery problems even if my warranty is void?
PS I rooted my phone and tripped knox.
Model SM N950F
You say the warranty is void and you rooted, sorry but, how do you think possible that samsung would repair/exchange your device if you clearly say that you do not have a valid warranty?
Btw, there are ways to get your phone alive again, search for them, and remember to NEVER let your batt reach zero charge, keep it above 20%
Don't know the answer to your question as it depends on your Country's laws whether warranty is void from rooting & trippin Knox. I'm in the US with a F model so regardless or root or Knox being tripped, I can't warranty my phone if ever needed through Samsung USA but I'm not concerned.
There's an app for this. Once you get your phone charged & powered back on, install this app & you won't have to worry about it again. I donxt even know if my F has the issue but I'm using this app anyway. https://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-note-8/themes/g95-deep-discharge-protection-t3731103
Are you on latest firmware or rom? It was said that this is a software issue & should have been fixed. But I haven't seen any confirmation of this though. If that is true I would have expected it to be fixed with Oreo as this problem was known with Nougat. However it seems like not all models are affected so it's possible that it's not a software issue.
If you have had your device for about 14 days, yes. Samsung will replace it. However if you have had it longer than that, it will be repaired.
Like others have said it depends on what country you are in. If you are in the EU they have to either fix or replace even if it is rooted due to the laws here.
Void warranty by knox so don't even bother

Well, I think that you should not waste more time, and try to get your device serviced asap
I can confirm In EU If you send it back to Samsung. Even rooted and tripped, they will repair it under warranty. The fact in EU, is that the manufacturer have to proove, that the root is the cause of your malfunctionnement. If they can't or if it's not due to this. They take it under warranty. That's the law here and i'm glad of it !
If it's in warranty they will only fix it, unless you have the problem 3 times like my girlfriend phone then at that point they will replace with a brand new note 8. I was lucky to only have the discharge issue once on my phone, but looking back on the decision to get me and my girl matching note 8s was a bad Christmas gift just for her to be without her phone 3 times smh ?

Also when mine had the issue I was rooted in samfail and i was worried af that samsung would deny me but luckily they fixed my phone anyways lol
