Hello.
I want to change my mi5's IMEI and MEID. My mi5 was unlocked,I made the following try, but failed.
1:in fastboot mode, use ADB shell on PC,fastboot erase modemst1,failed (remoteartition write protected)
2:Usb debugging mode, dd if=/dev/zero of=/dev/block/mmcblk0p12,not work.
I had backup the QCN file. and I have the official rom which flash use 9008 ports,I got it from xiaomi after-sale.
I find someone erase IMEI in qualcomm edl 9008 mode use miflash, and flash a file he made.then erase the IMEI,
but the file he do not share to me,I should pay 99 dollars for him.so expensive for me.
how erase mi5's IMEI?
Anyone, please, help me, if you can.
Forgive my English is bad,thanks.
Changing the IMEI is illegal and all talks of it are banned on the site.

Well I tried installing Titan Rom and then had to update the bootloader.
While fastboot didn't recognize my phone when i typed "adb devices" it still said it was connected, so I gave it a shot with the following instructions here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/moto-g-2014/general/bootloader-update-t3060007
So I noticed that it erases modem 1 and 2.
I have wifi, but no network for my carrier to make calls or receive data.
My backup didn't reset the modem either. Phone is back to the way it was saved during TWRP backup, except for the modems/network.
Any suggestions?
Thanks.

I'm not sure what model of Moto G you have, but for the data problem, you'll have to input your API settings. Flashing will usually wipe them out. Go to Settings, More (under Wireless & Networks at the top), Cellular Networks, Access Point Names. There you should see your carrier. When you click on it, it will open and here you will need the settings for your carrier. If you give me your carrier, maybe I can tell you what to input or someone else here will surely have the same carrier.
Going back one step, where you see Network Operators, click on that and see if your operator comes up. If so, that may fix the phone problem when you select the carrier.
you probably flash the wrong ''modem NON-HLOS.bin'' file.
did you notes that in the download folder have 5 folder one for it device model?
Did you download the one for your's device exactly model?
If so it may be wrong...
Find a XML ROM of yours exactly device and flash again the ''modem NON-HLOS.bin''
to find the ROM search here
Use this commands but with the right file.
fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
modemst1 and 2 is only erasing the temp stats of modem not erase the modem files.
Fastboot flash boot boot.img
Fastboot flash recovery recovery.img .....etc
Nothing is working .if u know anyone pls help me
we need open bootlodaer

Did you try to boot in fastboot and send those commands to the phone:
fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
@sparsh_iris @Da-Fied
Already tried doing that,
Didn't work.
I have found a solution
Install the Rom S2_X520-CN-FN-IEXCNFN5902303111S-5.9.023S
... I have the x527 version ... it works with this version .... then flash a rom you like

My device has unknown baseband and null imei, so tried to fix this problem.
I have unlocked the bootloader and rooted the device.
I have created QCN file with the imei number in my phone box.
I tried to restore the qcn using QFIL but got the following error at the end. My device is in diag mode.

How u destroyed ur imei and baseband? Before unlocking bootloader?
The problem with the phone was that it would not charge, that was the only problem.
I gave it to the local repair shop.
He said that after replacing the board ,the phone was in bootloop.
Then I flashed stock ROM from edl mode.
I remember the imei info was already null during that time, but I thought that it was because it was not detecting my SIM card.
Now I have gone into another problem.
I tried different methods for repairing IMEI, none of them worked.
I saw a post on XDA , this one.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/recover-redmi-note-3-sd-imei-baseband-t3744385
After entering those commands, my phone would not go past mi logo.
I have tried fastboot, edl mode flashing ,no result.
Why create two threads about the same issue that isn't even a ROM/development issue!?!
Hi guys, im posting this hoping theres a solution for my problem. I was folowing this guide to try install the stock firmware on this device and remove a virus that i wasnt able to remove even after cleaning the user data partiton (it was an anoying bar that started every time the phone booted). Well everything went acording to plan until i send a reboot command trough adb before flashing anything. Now the phone wont turn on and my computer doesnt detect it, doesnt show anything on screen and the computer plays the pluged and unplugged hardware sound constantly.

If you PC is making that sound, it is connecting, it may be in some kind of bootloop.
try using wall charger for a few hours.

Not unless it's in EDL mode, PC will show it as a Qualcomm device.

Well i left it overnight to charge and now ive got the same unplugged and plugged hardware sound on windows but the device manager shows up a "MT65xx preloader" that pops in and out from the list.
Do you think there is good sign?

Yes, the MT65xx preloader means you have a MediaTek processor.
The XT1772 MediaTek version is codename is nicklaus.
Try this Flashtool

I dont have the MediaTek DA USB VCOM driver installed, so at the moment it only shows up a unknown device. Could you help my find the correct driver? Also, if i manage to get the tool to flash the phone do i have to untick any component from the list? (like preloader) or i jus select everything?
Thank you in advance
Hey good news i finally was able to resucitate the phone! i found the drivers searching for the device id shown in device manager. I used the latest sp flash tool with my oem rom with all the firmware modules selected and got it working!. Now im trying to relock the bootloader to completly restore it to factory defaults.
