Otterbox Strada Folio Case Cover/Hall Sensor Issues - Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge Accessories

The Otterbox Strada case i just purchased does not seem to have a screen wake function when the cover is lifted up... Does anyone with this case or another folio case know of a work around for this or if I have a defective hall sensor? You'd think for as much money as these guys charge for their cases they would include this pretty significant feature.
I can't test if an official Samsung flip view case works as I don't have one but I do have a request into Otterbox right now for an answer, maybe you guys can help shed more light on this...
Thanks,

UPDATE:
Notes from Darren:
Great question, Kevin. The Strada case unfortunately does not have an auto wake/sleep function. The S7 does not have the built in magnets to allow the case to turn the screen on/off. The sole purpose of the magnet on the Strada case is to clasp the lid of the case closed while you are not using the phone. If you have any further questions please let us know.
Now my next question is, how doe the Samsung Flip Case work?

Well yes, I understand that as I alluded to in my first post...plus the Otterbox rep cleared up that the S7 edge does not have magnets which I find hard to believe.
What I'd like to know is how do the samsung flip cases activate the autowake function?....And is it able to be imitated by another unofficial folio case?..

Photo of my official Samsung LED view cover. There's a magnet holding that drawing pin. Can't see any other reason for it being there other then to facilitate auto wake on and off.

What's the orientation of the case in that photo? I just read about Samsung equipping their cases with chips on the backside so that non original cases cannot utilize s-view.

No "visible" microchip, but I'm assuming by visible you mean externally? There are a couple of areas where there is a slight raise due to something between case internal structure and the leather covering.

Meant to say, magnet present in same area on the official Clear View case as was on official LED View case.
By the way, I've lost faith in anything Otterbox customer service says. They lied (see curved protector thread) about where the adhesive is on their Alpha TGSP.

Otterbox doesn't know how to mske cases for anything other than iphones. Their design language and quality control are questionable now. I've tried all 4 cases they offer for the S7 Edge, and each one has more issues than I care for. There's no reason to lie to your customer base, so I'm more than happy nor buying from them again

The iPhone ones still aren't what I would call great, just like the horrible life proof cases. The buttons on them virtually don't click unless you bash them with a hammer. I personally like the Speck Candy shell Grip because it's nice, has good grip, and protects against most common drops aside from the hardcore stuff like tumbling down a mountain. For the price otterbox charges you would hope they took the user experience into account, but they don't. Some of their cases do offer good protection at the cost of usability which should not be an area to make compromises.

Agreed. I think Otterbox are not what they used to be as in my early iPhone 3G/4 days I had Otterbox cases and they were the leader in tough cases. Since they've had more competition though they seem to have taken their foot of the gas and it's more about just churning them out to make a buck.
Had a Life proof on my old iPhone 4. Have to say I thought it was pretty decent at the job it was intended.

A lot of companies have just been churning out bad products trying to mske money when they used to be good. Spigen has that issue lately more often than not, as does Incipio. I like both companies, but I've found to many quality control issues with both companies on top of blatent design issues.

This Otterbox Strada case is definitely disappointing considering what they ask for it. @Pilz in your experience, do any of the unofficial folio cases offer auto screen waking when the cover is lifted? If this Otterbox Strada had that feature then I wouldn't have to press the power button nearly as much and I *MIGHT* be able to get over how horrible it is. I want to keep this screen covered and I don't have to have to buy 50 screen protectors to find the right one that stays on and doesnt clash with my case etc etc...

I've tried a few, but none of them offer it. I also tried using a magnet to turn off the display but it didn't work which means one of two things. First the case tells the phone its there and to look for the sleep/wake via a NFC tag in the case, secondly they use a special (strength maybe?) of magnet to enable it which is less likely. I've given up on a 3rd party case working with the sleep wake unless someone can conclusively find out why it doesnt work even with a proper placed magnet (I used a neodymium one which is more than powerful enough even with its tiny size)

Older phones like the S5 used pins, but now I beleive they moved on to NFC of my memory serves me well

It was the old Note cases which replaced back cover which used pins if memory serves. I've two Samsung S7E folio cases, they definitely use magnets but not exclusively. It must have something to do with NFC because the accessory options change so it knows it's the LED View or CLEAR View somehow.

Although mine is apparently the old version. BSCstore is sending me a new version for free and not making me send the old one back. This old one lacks the sleep/wake function that was listed in the Amazon posting. They actually proactively emailed everyone who ordered one of these old ones stating that Amazon put up some stock of the old cases and were not supposed to. (They were sold by BSCstore but fulfilled by Amazon) (As you can see one person gave a 1 star rating before they received the email apparently). I assume the new case will be the exact same with the addition of an embedded magnet.
I must say this "old" one fits the Nexus perfectly. As you can see from the pictures the case isn't really all that "slim". The materials used do not really allow it to be a thin case. I knew this from my transformer prime and kindle fire cases, which were the same. The inside is like a microfiber-like material and the outside feels like leather, though for the price I am kind of surprised it is actually listed as leather. I really like how it doesn't cover the bezel and the stand functions perfectly. The corners of the case are also protected as well as any case could protect them. The cover of the case can be folded over completely backwards as well which is important to me. Some cases cannot do this, surprisingly.
There are two Elastic straps on the case which I will never use. One, I assume, is to hold the cover shut. However, the latch/clip thing is tight enough that I do not think that small elastic band is at all necessary. The second elastic band thing is to put your hand in. I wouldn't really be bothered to use this unless I was a door to door salesman or something and had to carry the tablet all the time. They are nice features I suppose if you do need them.
There is also a stylus loop which I will not use. In fact, I may cut it off. However, it is a nice addition for those who will use a stylus.
The only thing I don't like is the speaker grill is half covered and I know from taking my back cover off that there are two speakers behind that grill and one of them is behind the case no matter what position the case is in and that no matter which brand you go with (blurex, poetic, moko, etc). From the pictures I have seen on Amazon they are all designed this way. Not sure why they didn't extend the cutout over the entire speaker grill. Maybe the "new" version has changed this but I doubt it. I am guessing the way the case folds in that spot prevents them from manufacturing it with the hole extending to both sides of the fold for some reason. I have not done extensive testing but I have no doubt it will affect the sound coming from the device and would probably be most noticeable while watching movies or listening to music.
Edit - Here are a few pictures of the replacement showing the new cutouts for the speaker and that there doesn't appear to be an obvious area where they just haphazardly stuck a magnet. They did a good job of hiding it. Also, with the last picture I am just showing that the tablet remains on when the cover is flipped all the way around.
Great looking case,I ordered the poetic version and its already shipping

Ordered mine a few days ago, it looked like the best option on Amazon and for $10 what a steal. Don't have my nexus 7 yet, its sitting in my desk at work. I'm sure I will be really productive tomorrow. It's the 16gb model too.

That looks pretty nice. I was hesitant to order one because I could not tell if the front cover would fold back all the way when not using the stand functionality. I might pick it up if I don't like the case I have coming via USPS later this week. Thanks for the impressions and photos.
Thanks for the review. Looks good. I would get that if only it came in any other color that's not black. I'm leaning towards the i-blason one cause it has color but it's twice as much as this one

Thanks for the review. I'm considering this as a free replacement.
I also just got this case using expedited shipping. Took 2 days from Hong Kong!
I do like it however there seems to be one serious flaw. The magnet that turns the screen on and off is strong enough to affect the N7 when the front flap is folded back. So the N7 turns on when I fold open the flap but turns off again when i fold the flap over to the back of the device.
Makes it difficult to hold.

Yeah if the replacement i get has that flaw.i wouldn't use it.
Looks nice. I'm going to snag the 360 version because I like the portrait mode stand option.
Thanks for posting nice clear pics
Found a workaround to the wake flaw and that is to place a small paperclip or some other thin piece of metal between the back of the Nexus 7 and the case back.
The company in Hong Kong are looking at a permanent solution.

Just got this email:
Dear buyer:
Thanks for purchasing MoKo slim-fit case for your Nexus 7. We are sorry to inform you that we have found some issue with the built-in magnets in cases that are scheduled to ship today. The magnet is installed to support the smart wake/sleep feature of Nexus 7 but unfortunately it would also put the Nexus to sleep when the front cover is folded against the back, due to the slim profile of this particular case. We are sure you would not like to purchase a case like this and this is not a case we would sell either. But we have decided to ship this current case to you to provide a TEMPORARY solution to protect your Nexus before you get the the improved replacement from us. We have taken measures to rectify the issue in our future production and the replacement cases should be ready sometime next week. The fully working replacement case will be shipped to you at no extra cost and you don't have to return the temporary case. You may want to remove
And please let us know if you would like us to make other arrangements for you. We can also provide any of our Nexus 7 cases as a free substitute if you prefer. All other nexus 7 cases we carry come with the smart wake/sleep function but don't have the same issue as the "temporary case" has. You can check the selection here:
http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=sr_nr_p_6_0? rh=n%3A172282%2Cn% 3A!493964%2Cn%3A541966%2Ck% 3Amoko+nexus+7+case%2Cp_6% 3AA2VT4H683M5NNA&bbn=541966& keywords=moko+nexus+7+case&ie= UTF8&qid=1343164562&rnid=303116011
Again, we are very sorry for the situation and all the inconvenience caused. We will try our best to make the purchase right for you and we will make it right.
Thanks,Jim from BSCstore.

Nice, I got pretty much the same email but mine was in regards to the original case without a magnet at all. I wonder how much money this company is loosing with all these free cases they are giving out? I suppose they will stick a sheet of thin metal behind the magnet in the final version or something based on that person's comment about the paper clip fixing the issue.
I suppose the new August 6 ship date on Amazon is referencing when they expect the final version to be released.
I got the same Email today, but the link they gave for the temporary case they're sending includes multiple cases, anyone know which case are they sending us as a temporary replacement?
I have the poetic version and got the email today.

Update: my case came today and it definitely has the problem. I am either going to cut the magnet out or try to get a steel shield to work.
Update 2: I taped a few washers to the case under the N7 where the magnet lines up...success! My ghetto-case is fully activated!

Question...on amazon the 360 version is listed as .6' thick. The regular slimline is .8??? Does that make sense? I was thinking of getting the regular version..one being reviewed her because I thought it would be slimmer?

That doesn't seem to make sense, but nevertheless I'm also in for the rotating version. I have the Blurex cases (the original awful one and then the moderately better one they sent as a replacement), but they don't rotate and also I've realized that it's infinitely annoying to have a case that covers the bezel like the Blurex ones because it makes it frustratingly difficult to swipe down the notification bar. I actually don't understand why they didn't at least make the bezel coverage area narrower. In any case, the Moko doesnt' cover the bezel at all, so I think it will work well.

[Review] *Update 28DEC12* Extremely Thin Smart Cover like Apple "aka Ebay case"

[Review] *Update 28DEC12* Extremely Thin Smart Cover like Apple "aka Ebay case"
** Updated GPS issue at the bottom**
This is going to be a quick review of the "Google Nexus 7 Slim Magnetic PU Leather Smart Cover Case Stand w/ Stylus- Black" Case from Ebay. Link: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Google-Nexu...ccessories&hash=item2320f701ac#ht_2989wt_1271. I bought this case from ebay last week for $11.95 with free 3 day shipping. The shipping was extremely fast and it arrived in 2 days.
I have received a few PM's asking about the quality of the case so this review will address a few of the questions from others. If you would like any more information please ask below and I will answer them as quickly as I can.
Build Quality: The snap on backing is hard plastic with no internal padding. In every day use your hand does not come in contact with this hard material because of the wrapped cover. I would compare it in feel to the silver bezel surrounding the Nexus 7 screen. The flap is a type of plastic (NOT PU LEATHER) on the outside with a softer felt on the inside. It reminds me of a picnic table cover you would use in the summer with the waterproof plastic top and thin soft touch backing. The flap is held onto the casing with clear glue and you do not see unless you pry is back and start looking for it. While it does not feel overly expensive in the hand it does not feel cheap either. It does not compare to my wife's apple smart cover which was $50, but at a little over $10 I do not expect it to.
Folding: The case folded in the closed position makes the device exactly as thick as my tpu case. (A good way to tell it has limited protection capability.) Additionally the only part of the case still exposed after the backing is snapped on is the silver bezel, a known weak part on the Nexus. The flap covers it up... but that will only help to keep the bezel from getting scratched. When folded closed the volume and on/off screen are covered. This is not an issue because of the "smart cover" feature. I also want to note that when the case is folded and you are using it to watch movies it is extremely stable. you can push on it and it will not fall over.
The cover has 2 sets of weak magnets. One set is used for the smart cover (yes it works) and the other is on the edge that holds it closed. When you roll the cover up to make a stand the magnet meet much like an apple smart cover to keep it from unfolding. When the cover is folded back on itself it does not shut off the screen as seen on the initial moko/blurex cases.
Improvements: The one note I have for the magnets is that they are weak. I am sure this was to ensure that the cover does not turn off the device when folded back. The problem is that until my case gets broken in.... The magnets have a hard time keeping the case in the folded position as a stand. It stays closed very well when pressure is on the case or after you push down on the creases. I posted a pic of it working. Where it is weak is after you open the case and fold the cover into the triangle... just prior to setting it down it will sometimes unfold itself unless I hold it. It has been improving over the last 2 days as the plastic gets more broken in.
Would I recommend? The answer is based on price. At around $10 it is a great case. Very thin and works well as advertised. I keep my flight publications on it and keep it in my pocket 24/7 and for this application it works great. I am glad I got it. As the price starts to climb around $15+ I do not think the quality justifies that kind of money. Reading other forums it looks like the Poetic Portfolio has started shipping and it looks like a good option for $20. At $11.95 I am glad I bought this one. I use this case as my daily however I still think I will get nicer one in a few months. I have a Moko slim leather case, moko tpu case and this one and out of all of them I like this the best for traveling.
** Update **
I use my Nexus 7 for aviation maps when I fly. I have a bluetooth GPS I normally use as well as an s-style tpu case that I put it in. A few days ago I unexpectedly went flying and could not change cases or get my GPS. My Nexus was having a fit trying to get satellites. It would find them only if it had direct exposure to the sky. As I am sure you know this is not a normal characteristic, normally in my tpu case it is spot on. I did not think to much of it (I was preoccupied).
Two days later I received a PM from Amt0571 asking if I ever noticed the case interferes with the use of Google Sky. I installed the application and Amt0571was spot on. I am making a loose correlation that the case was also weakening my GPS signal. Not failing it but under harder condition like tracking am aircraft at 170 MPH inside a metal fuselage it weakens it just enough for it to get lost. Thanks Amt0571 for bringing that to everyone's attention.
The case still works great, just keep this in mind for specific applications. I would still trust it for driving.
**Update 28DEC12**
I am sorry to say that I woke up today to a stress crack on my case. I know many of out have posted this throughout the thread however up until today this case has been perfect. I have used this case as my daily since I bought it. I removed the case on the weekends. I have not decided if I am going to buy a new one. I do LOVE this case I just want to check out my other options. I will post what case I decide to go with.
Hope this helps. I will post pics in a few from my phone.

Good pics too, pocketability is important to me and that one looks pretty good, certainly less bulky than the one I'm currently using.

Update: in the review I mentioned that the weak magnets have a hard time keeping the cover folded as a stand. As I have continued to break in the case this issue has resolved itself. The case is getting better each day. Traveled with it all day and I am so glad I bought it.
thanks for the review mate - glad I actually ordered one; waiting for it to arrive today or tomorrow
Ordered the same case from a different seller... I love the case. I noticed the same weakness in the magnet... As the case flap loosened up it got better.
Great review! Could you post a pic where the case is folded all the way back? (with the leather folding behind the plastic casing if you know what i mean)
I like to "tighten" it when i'm having in it my hands, but i'm not sure whether the "flap" is going to be annoying here.
Thanks in advance
please note the location of the magnets behind the screen sensor. Even in this position with TWO sets of magnets behind the sensor the screen does not turn itself off!

As requested. It does not bother me. Normally I make 2 folds to keep the cover under the case. Sorry for the low quality pics and bad lighting. I am traveling for work and am in a hotel.
**update** I wanted to make note that as I continue to use this case the folds continue to get tighter and the case will lie more flat against the backing when folded. That is a good thing, not that it was ever thick it just makes it more comfortable to hold.

Received mine today. For the price, it's a good bargain.
Really nice review and pics, I am digging the thin-ness of it
Looks like a decent case. Too bad the seller raised their prices. If this was around 10 or 11 bucks I would probably order one.
does the case protect the nexus completely - is the bezel fully covered when the case is closed?
Please look at the pics and the description in the first post. No the bezel is not completely covered by the case backing, however it is covered when the cover is closed. My case is completely back so the silver you see is the actual nexus 7 bezel. I posted pics above. I am liking this case more and more as it breaks in. It protects the nexus 7 very well.

Okay so I've had mine for about a day now and I can proudly say that I'm very happy with it and glad that I waited out for a couple of weeks for it to become available.
Works very well and I love the minimalistic design. Looks great in gray too.. Thinking of grabbing another one in blue or purple to interchange the colours. Couple of pics below..
For just under $15, this case is a real bargain. Much prefer this style over the leather folio cases that are out in the market at the moment.
With the cover closed would the corners of the bezel be protected if you dropped it from say the couch/sofa? Also if its closed would it be safe enough in your coat pocket?

Yep it should be enough protection if dropped from a couch/sofa as the back casing covers the lower portion of the front bezel - it's only the top portion of the front bezel which is not fully covered. Also the front flap would help to create a bit of cushioning for the front bezel too, if it were dropped from that height. And yes, I would say it's safe enough in a coat pocket when closed.

Poetic Slimline Case Review *NEW* *PICTURES*

This is a review for the Poetic Slimline Case for our Nexus 7.
I've been using this case for a little over a month now, and thought I should fill you guys in. Until now, there are mostly only those hideous, ghetto leather cases that cover up the bezel of the Nexus 7. The Nexus 7 is such a beautiful device that we ought to show off all of it aspects. The case is thin, it adds minimal bulk and is still easy to hold in one hand. It IS a smartcover, meaning there's a little magnet in the flap that power's the screen on/off when you open or close it. And in the end what really matters is that the case really looks good on the Nexus 7. If you don't care about pictures then here is the rundown: smartcover, 2 viewing angles, durable, slim, and completely worth the $20 price!

Well, many people appear to think the opposite concerning the build quality ... even for the third rev. of the case, see this post:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1792355
They are large concern about the poor build quality and the fact that this case deteriorate fast ... pictures on the amazon webpage speak by themselves ...
From what I can tell there are bound to be some who are harder on cases than others. I am not saying that this is necessarily the reason for the issues some have seen. Poetic seems to be doing a good job of improving their product and listening to their customers. It also has a 3 year warranty, so if something does happen then it will be replaced. I think that shows you a company that will stand behind their products.

I've been using the original case, that's without any revisions, for about a month. No signs of wear and tear, and this was the same case with the flap that wouldn't fold all the way back! I had no problems with it, since Poetic promised to have it fixed shortly after I received it, WITHOUT any complaint from me at all. The company stands behind their product. And should something go wrong with the case, it's under warranty for 3 years!! I'm sure none of us will even hold on to our Nexi for 3 full years
As for the screen protector, YES! If you look closely, I have a xoskins screen protector on it. If you can't see it in any of the pictures, then the screen protector is just that good! I've always been happy with xoskins products. They don't brown and yellow after use like Zaggs, and there is virtually no orange peel either. The only reason I opted to put a screen protector on the N7 was because of the fingerprints, and the xoskins screen protector really does a good job at keeping those fingerprints at bay.
EDIT: Just realized you can't really see a screen protector actually on the device in the pictures... You'll just have to take my word for it, it's really that good!

[Review] Official Samsung case (NOT the flip case!)

So after my Nilkin case took a tumble and broke one of the edges by the volume rocker I wanted to review some other cases that offered more protection around the edges without adding bulk. The criteria was simple, stick as close to the thickness of the Nilkin as possible but add more protection.
Today I have the Samsung official case that Mobilefun have kindly sent me.
One thing is for certain, pictures make it look thicker than it actually is. The Nilkin case is barely any thinner but you get the added top and bottom protection on this Samsung case which gives the impression of a thicker case in images. In reality it feels more comfortable than the Nilkin due to the curvier shape and soft case bezel. I find it nicer to type with this case on as my fingers are no longer rubbing against the straight edge at the bottom like they would with the Nilkin and all other snap on cases like it.
Negatives:
I can spot one immediately which is that the back is glossy and as such does attract fingerprints, dust and scratches. Over time this finish will look tired like car paintwork that's seen sponges and machine car washes (I've yet to see a glossy black finish that doesn't end up this way on a gadget!) so bare this in mind. It might be possible to take a scouring pad to it like we did with the glossy Galaxy S2 bits back in the day
Regardless of the name "Hard case" it's not actually all hard, the Nilkin is harder. The back of the Samsung case is hard glossy plastic but the rest is harder flexible material and feels like it will take more of an absorbing impact.
Pics & final thoughts:
Vs Nilkin

It's a £15 case so for once it's not unreasonably priced compared to the branded 3rd party cases out there (Casemate, Otterbox etc) given that it's an official accessory. I'm due a couple of other cases so will compare the lot in a few days but so far this Samsung case has impressed me. It will definitely take more of a beating than the Nilkin has and protect my phone at the same time... Which leads me on to beatings. Had I received this case a couple of days earlier I would not currently have a chip on the lower right of the screen on my handset after a nasty fall on brick stairs.
Such is life
I also use this case now and like it. Although got it slightly cheaper from amazon - around £10 ( http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009KZ36ZM/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00 )
I was thinking of combining this case with the official flip case (to better protect the screen surface). Has anyone tried it? Does it work or the extra bulk of the flip case does not allow this protective case to be fitted?
Hmm not sure how the flip would work with this case on without cutting the soft side bits?
I tried the case mate tough first but the cutouts around the usb port and s-pen were too sharp and made the phone uncomfortable to hold.
Have the Samsung case on my wife's Note II and and liked it, have one myself now

I am not sure too - would be good to try it myself, but nobody of my friends with Note2 has a flip case.
I have seen this idea being implemented using a slightly moded UAG case (if I am not mistaken) and official flip cover. I think I saw it in this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931209
Update:
Here it is - look a short discussion around posts 1002-1010: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931209&page=101
And another combination of a protective case with a flip cover: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=38575302&postcount=1082
Wow.... Those photos.... So beautifully shot it made me tempted to get one myself too!

Thanks! You don't have to buy one just because of the pictures but I do try to put across how stuff looks in reality in my pictures because I've never been a fan of stock photos as it looks different in person.

Yeah that's the problem with some cases where they have sharp/non curved bits around the bottom so when you use the phone it's a bit uncomfortable. Normally it's not noticeable until you use another case that doesn't have it and it's a nice welcome difference.
This case can be used along with the replacement backdoor flip cover (OEM Samsung with nfc). I also use the backdoor flip cover with my Otterbox commuter case without a problem and without modification. It's awesome in both applications because you get full phone protection, and in the instance I'm using the case discussed in this thread, without adding a lot of bulk to the phone.

Thank you for the info!
Could you post few photos of the combo in closed and open states please?
Just to make sure it is convenient for my use patterns before buying it...
If you want to use the official Samsung case with the flip cover, many people (myself included) just cut the softer outer plastic bit where it impedes the flip cover. Thanks to the back being a harder plastic it doesn't lose too much integrity and still holds onto the phone fine. There was a thread about it here in this section with photos and stuff, I'm sure you'll find it with a bit of searching.
The benefit of actually cutting the case rather than leaving it intact is you can still fold the cover back and type with two hands, whereas I'd you didn't the case would only open to about 90° from the screen

The case would fit better with modification but I chose to not modify and it works fine. Definitely requires 2 handed use until your used to welding it in these configurations.

To see what it's like with a matte finish as matte looks more professional than glossy. And why not for the sale of posting feedback?

Could you post a picture of the inside of the case, specifically the part where the lanyard loop goes? Is it recessed, and is it strong?
Amazing pictures, makes me want to get it more, and it's one of the few cases with a lanyard loop :good:

Review: Artech 21 Genuine Leather Wallet Case for the Note 5

Hey guys,
I just pre-ordered a few cases from this company on amazon and wanted to see if anyone has already received theirs. Any feedback for their options? I see both a rubber as well as a rugged version.

still need to improve a little bit
but will be ready soon
I just received the demo unit for Artech 21's leather wallet case.
As with past Artech products, their grain leather is of top notch materials. The texture, the grip and the smell are all clear indicators of the quality of the case. As seen from the side of the case, the user is able to attach the handstrap. Similarly, users can hook on any charm they wish to attach to the case - something that is not available with most cases nowadays.
The mechanism that opens and closes the wallet is made of magnets. It is good to keep in mind that magnets are much less likely to wear and looks much more sleek than other materials, such as Velcros or buttons. The wallet closes tightly and protects its contents well, leaving you with no worries of chances of damage. The case itself has slots for three credit cards and a photo ID, as well as a TPU casing within to keep the Note 5 in place. While I do not have a Note 5 in my hands and cannot test the fitment, I do have experience with the G4's casing and can testify that the G4 was held in place very well.
The usual cut outs are placed on the case - volume, button, IR blaster, speaker, mic and for the S-pen.
Please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.
Also, here is the link for anyone interested:

Now this looks pretty nice here.

Let me know if you have any problem with my case
I'd love to try out the silver/black case, and would be more then happy to provide feedback!
I have gotten this case from Artech so I could write up a review.
I will say this case definitely does feel very nice and is built well. I love that it is a wallet folio so I can leave my wallet at home if I want to without any issues. Although that may appear to be a good thing at first glace, the unfortunate issue with the case is that the magnets that hold the case closed are pretty weak, meaning all your going to get in there without worrying about whether the case will open by itself or not would be a couple of Credit Cards and an ID. I did contact Artech about this on Facebook and they may be looking at redesigning the closer for the case.
Beyond that issue it is nice that there is a built-in kickstand as it makes watching movies, youtube videos etc. enjoyable.
Here is a link to the photos if you feel like seeing the case in action. Tried to add the photos in here but google doesn't seem to want to share them correctly.

At any rate, overall it is a good case, with really only one issue that I can think of and that is the case having the possibility of just flipping open.
Because of the case opening issue, in it's current state I would say 4/10. If that issue does get fixed with an updated version I would easily give this a 10/10 as it is very nice and really doesn't add too horribly much bulk considering what you can put in the case.
cases are very nice

I have gotten this case from Artech so I could write up a review.
I will say this case definitely does feel very nice and is built well. I love that it is a wallet folio so I can leave my wallet at home if I want to without any issues.
