No, you must upgrade to the marshmallow bootloader and unlock that one by following the directions in hsbadr's other thread. Then you flash the Stock Restore in Odin.
So i have a developer edition, can i just odin this and go? or do i have to install and unlock a bootloader as well? root/unlocking took so long i didnt keep up.
Is the safe upgrade PD1 rom is Pre-rooted.

It probably isn't, since it's not a custom ROM but just a set of Stock firmware files.

The only time you guys can flash directly any MM ROM is when you already on MM Unlocked bootloader and rooted. If you are on 5.1.1 Unlocked and rooted, you have to follow the OP instructions, doesn't matter if you have retails or Dev Edition.
And here we go.
Anyone have any recommendations on how to backup my Android install before I flash this?

Are you rooted? You should be able to backup in recovery if you are.
This won't replace Recovery, right?

The first link goes to the BPA1 download. I didn't notice, and ended up waiting about 30 minutes for it to download before I saw it .
This method is exclusively for Developer Editions, right? Retail users have to follow the steps listed in this thread? Otherwise both methods get users to CPD1?
Never mind, I see it says Retail/Dev in the thread title...
Missing Applications Manager?
So I went through this process twice, the first time because wifi wasn't working and the application manager (Settings -> Application) was missing.
On the second shot, wifi was working again, but I'm still missing the app manager.
Where I expect Applications, I see Application Settings (the part where you can set the default program, etc.)
Did this happened to anyone else?
Anyone have a fix for this?
I have a developer edition Note 4 and am currently on 4.4.4 ANJ5. If I upgrade to CPD1, can I safely downgrade to any prior release (4.4, 5.0, 5.1, etc.)?
Would I follow the same process as going from 4.4 to 5.1 and vice versa?
I've found that I like 4.4 better than any of the 5.0 ROM's, but I want to try 6.0 now that it is out.
Thank in advance for your help!
I'm curious as anyone been able to root this.

If you unlock it and install twrp, you can try flashing SuperSu then. But if you root the stock rom it might not boot, that was the case with LL. Had to flash custom kernel.

If you use the Jasmine ROM v6.0.1 by hsbadr - which is almost like stock MM - you can get root. Jasmine ROM has the custom Multisystem kernel for MM to root.

I did, but not with the Applications manager. After going ODIN back to 5.1.1, unlocking and upgrading the bootloader and then applying the MM Safe upgrade, twice, I got wifi, but not Applications manager.
I ended up using the full firmware found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937 and just flashing straight to 6.0.1.
I don't have root, a locked boot loader, complaints about dm-verity and DRK in recovery mode, but I have a working MM with Wifi and Applications manager and Android Pay.
I'm happy at the moment, thanks for the help.

Twrp can not be download with adb when you have marshmallow. I've tried for hours. You can do command: fastboot boot recovery (file).img to boot up twrp but this temp not perm. Flash supersu.zip to have root access.( May have to flash twice).
To download twrp:
Download twrp manager from the play store.
Now flash twrp.img using twrp manager.
Remember: if you use twrp you no longer will be getting update from tmobile over the air. (correct me if im wrong)

If you have TWRP installed, you can download the 5.0 image to the phone and restart in recovery.
If you don't have an alternative recovery on your Nexus 6, then you'll hav eto flash from a PC via USB with the adb/fastboot from Google.

You can downgrade... just download factory image 5.1.1 then flash it via adb.
i don't Recommend xposed, but if you want, just flash it.
If you want xposed, why don't you use Marshmallow? Xposed is available (heck, even systemless xposed with Magisk).
To clear up any confusion, you can keep your phone on the latest TWRP recovery, bootloader, and radio and just flash any older ROM no matter if it's based on N, M, or L. Doing an entire factory image is 100% not necessary. If you flash the whole factory image from Google you will wind up with outdated bootloader and radio, and also you will have to put TWRP on it again as it will replace the recovery with stock recovery.

I totally agree - downgrade to 6.0.1, not 5.1.1 - xposed is available for Marshmallow, no need to step back all the way to Lollipop.

Hey man, you CAN boot into TWRP, you just need to flash it dude D
Sent from mine Huawei Honor 5C using XDA Labs, Unlocked and rooted with SuperSU Pro Version(2.81), using TWRP Recovery (twrp-3.1.0.2hi6250.img(It's the ONLY image, which works on EMUI 5.0 Honor 5C))
Which version of TWRP is bootable, I flashed several versions but couldn't boot into it with reboot and volume key. If I hold vol down it boots as normal and with up it goes to original recovery. So how do you boot TWRP?

I confirm that updating through HFF proxy from B350 to B355 works on L51. Just did it.
What I don't understand however is that I couldn't get it to work as a regular update (after downloading the update and rebooting, the install started and reported an error not long after ; leaving me no choice but to reboot), although this update was available without using HFF. Weird.

I used those service roms with same method for p10 lite, p9 lite. I didnt try this one, but, I dont expect any problem because instruction is provided by Huawei. Just, read instruction, but again my recommendation is force method. Because, normal upgrade is not necessary with this rom, ota, or ffinder are more efficient. But if someone bricked phone, or has custom rom, this is the best thing for rollback to stock rom. The reason why to use forced method iis simple, because with three buttons first flash stock recovery and than stock recovery automaticly repair all system and upgrade all things.

How did you brick phone on Emui 8? Only solution is to try to unlock bootloader in fasrboot and downgrade using twrp, hwota. Method for rollback you can find here in our section. https://forum.xda-developers.com/p10-plus/development/downgrade-p10-plus-oreo-to-nougat-t3724382

Long story. Three days was trying to get it unbricked, even it was in service shop, but they didn't do much
however, upgrade from nougat to oreo didn't went well at first. Almost an hour it was installing oreo update zip file in twrp, so I had to turn off the mobile phone in middle of process. At last, it booted to Oreo, but after a first restart (changed overall appearance from large to medium), it just bootlooped. As I had nandroid backup of nougat in twrp, I tried to restore to that, and my problems just got bigger. I tried to go back to oreo again, multile times, different builds, but no luck. Than I found the method you linked, and with great help of guys from Telegram group, it booted again in OS. Hell yes
Strange thing that happend that it didn't booted to Nougat, but in Oreo acctually. Probably LowLevel format helped to fix partitions and stuff, after that bootloader was unlocked again, As for now I have bad Oreo version (8.0.0.046) will rollback again to Nougat.
I'm try to download but on half its stoped

I have stock EMUI v5.10 and Android v7.0.
I unlocked the device, installed TWRP and rooted it.
I would like to upgrade to OREO and was hoping to find a solution that will allow me to upgrade using TWRP as it is working and installed.
Please advise.
Thank you once again.
