On 6.0, all you have to do is unlock bootloader using ADB. Then install TWRP, then flash SU...done.

That also happened to me. While it is saying waiting for device, go to windows device manager. You will see a device with an ! mark. Open it and select update drivers, then let windows find them. Mine found the Android driver and installed automatically.

Twrp can not be download with adb when you have marshmallow. I've tried for hours. You can do command: fastboot boot recovery (file).img to boot up twrp but this temp not perm. Flash supersu.zip to have root access.( May have to flash twice).
To download twrp:
Download twrp manager from the play store.
Now flash twrp.img using twrp manager.
Remember: if you use twrp you no longer will be getting update from tmobile over the air. (correct me if im wrong)

ABD/Fastboot setup windows 8

Does ADB and fastboot install automatically with the HTC drivers or must it still be downloaded separately and installed? I have the adb file and trying to obtain s-off (using moonshine) but having issues doing so. I tried following a guide online however I believe it was written with windows 7 in mind.
My goal is to root and install the Google Edition 4.3 android then flash a custom kernel. Any guides would be great. My last phone was an HTC evo 4g LTE and it's been a new laptop and new version of windows ago since I went through the process. I'm completely behind playing catch up.
Thanks!

This is the website I used: http://htc-one.wonderhowto.com/how-...wrp-root-google-play-edition-htc-one-0148146/
A couple things to note (from my experience following this tutorial):
-The first time I fastboot flashed TWRP, it didn't stick. I had to do it again, and then it stuck.
-When I rebooted to system from TWRP and let it root me using the SuperSU installer, that didn't work using Google Play or the TWRP option, probably because I was on 4.3. You have to manually flash the supersu zip file in TWRP from the thread on XDA.
Hope that helps!
EDIT: regarding you driver situation, I'm on Windows 8 and all I had to do was plug it in and it downloaded the necessary drivers automatically. I believe I have HTC Sync Manager installed, but it's not running, and wasn't running when I was going through that tutorial.
EDIT 2: Looks like I read your post wrong,.. I thought you had the GPe. Nonetheless, that tutorial may help you.
I don't think ADB or Fastboot are pre-installed nor are they packaged with sync manager. You have to download them either as part of the SDK or from XDA. Personally, I download the whole package as it's far easier to keep updated.

Let us know if it works! Since that tutorial is for the GPe, unlocking the bootloader for your Sense version is a little different. But once you achieve an unlocked bootloader, I believe the rest of his tutorial is the same for both devices.
hey i tryed a lot of Guides but still doesnt work. Dont know why...

Rooting marshmallow b550

First of all i have to say im really glad i got this phone over samsung galaxy J5.
Secondly...for the people who does not know how to root Marshmallow latest version im gonna use some resources i found over the internet.
Step by step if you dont have marshmallow install all the firmwares till you you get B170. Remember you have to be on stock recovery all the time
Then download the B550 from [Official huawei P8 lite marshmallow firmware]
and update your firmware.
Now its time for root...
1. Download this archive <MOD EDIT - Warez Link Removed> and unrar
2. Connect your phone to PC(make sure USB Debugging is checked in developer options) run Install.bat file and follow the instructions. This will install TWRP Recovery for 6.0
3. Copy files zip 1 and zip 2 to internal memory or SD Card
4. Reboot into TWRP (volume+ and volume- and power on button at the same time until TWRP appears.
5. Install zip 1 and reboot.
6. Open once SuperSU then close SuperSU and uninstall it!!(push supersu icon and move to recycle bin)
7. Boot again into TWRP and install zip 2 and then reboot
8. Install root browser from google play ( https://play.google.com/store/apps/details? id=com.jrummy.root.browserfree&hl=en )open and grant superuser rights.
9. Now open /device/data/app and locate folder eu.chainfire.supersu-1 cut and paste in folder /device/system/app with following rights rwx r-x r-x
Reboot your phone and ENJOY full root access
All credits to 4PDA forum members, XDA members for their annoying questions , dkonect, sokkoban PANDEMiC and his blogspot http://huaweip8lite.blogspot.gr/ (and ofc my patience of wasting all night long on updates, formats, wipes, degrades and workarounds with solutions )

I would suggest you to update on B550 before you start the procedure. It will still show B524 build but its updated anyway on the last version B550.
Please make sure you have Chipset HiSilicon Kirin 620
and use the ROOT.Android.6.0.P8.Lite to install the TWRP.
For me it seems like a driver problem or not unlocked bootloader.
Try by unlocking your bootloader again
Unlock boot loader on your device.
Type in command without quotes "fastboot devices"
If you can see serial number of your phone you are going the right way.
In the command prompt, enter fastboot oem unlock (bootloader unlocking code) , e.g. fastboot oem unlock 321321321321321”
if that didnt work then make sure your drivers are installed correctly
Re-Start windows with Driver signature off and re-apply your drivers. To do this on windows you have to go All settings--> update and recovery---->Recovery----->Advanced startup---->>restart now and after booting your windows in the blue screen, choose Driver signature OFF option. Then reinstall your drivers and restart your phone on fastboot mode (power on and volume - at the same time ) and run the script again.

The two variant , i mean ALE-L21 single or double sim have exactly the sames hardware.
The difference between the Two variant for single/double sim is only in the firmware you push in your devices.
(I have Two branded single variant and i use the firmware for single and double without any trouble.i only think the single sim firmware is more battery friendly but just a personal opinion)

So far im satisfied for its battery. Ok everyone knows that Facebook and messenger are battery killers...but even with those running, MP3 all day long... my battery lasts for a day on dual sim with the smart battery mode. In any case i will try to update the official B550 spanish version to check the differences (and modify a bit our kernel) .

Hmm... One little question. If i understand right. Balong bug should be shown on "Build Number". On me it shows that i have B550 as it should. But when i go to TWRP and backup. The backup pre-generated name says Balongxxxxx
Apparently that's normal its the build reference of the device nothing to worry about

No, you must upgrade to the marshmallow bootloader and unlock that one by following the directions in hsbadr's other thread. Then you flash the Stock Restore in Odin.
So i have a developer edition, can i just odin this and go? or do i have to install and unlock a bootloader as well? root/unlocking took so long i didnt keep up.

It probably isn't, since it's not a custom ROM but just a set of Stock firmware files.

The only time you guys can flash directly any MM ROM is when you already on MM Unlocked bootloader and rooted. If you are on 5.1.1 Unlocked and rooted, you have to follow the OP instructions, doesn't matter if you have retails or Dev Edition.
And here we go.
Anyone have any recommendations on how to backup my Android install before I flash this?

This won't replace Recovery, right?

The first link goes to the BPA1 download. I didn't notice, and ended up waiting about 30 minutes for it to download before I saw it .
This method is exclusively for Developer Editions, right? Retail users have to follow the steps listed in this thread? Otherwise both methods get users to CPD1?
Never mind, I see it says Retail/Dev in the thread title...
Missing Applications Manager?
So I went through this process twice, the first time because wifi wasn't working and the application manager (Settings -> Application) was missing.
On the second shot, wifi was working again, but I'm still missing the app manager.
Where I expect Applications, I see Application Settings (the part where you can set the default program, etc.)
Did this happened to anyone else?
Anyone have a fix for this?
I have a developer edition Note 4 and am currently on 4.4.4 ANJ5. If I upgrade to CPD1, can I safely downgrade to any prior release (4.4, 5.0, 5.1, etc.)?
Would I follow the same process as going from 4.4 to 5.1 and vice versa?
I've found that I like 4.4 better than any of the 5.0 ROM's, but I want to try 6.0 now that it is out.
Thank in advance for your help!

I did, but not with the Applications manager. After going ODIN back to 5.1.1, unlocking and upgrading the bootloader and then applying the MM Safe upgrade, twice, I got wifi, but not Applications manager.
I ended up using the full firmware found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...mware-firmware-kernel-modem-recovery-t2942937 and just flashing straight to 6.0.1.
I don't have root, a locked boot loader, complaints about dm-verity and DRK in recovery mode, but I have a working MM with Wifi and Applications manager and Android Pay.
I'm happy at the moment, thanks for the help.

I downgraded my android to 7.1, then unlocked the bootloader. Problem is how to run that twrp, i renamed it to recovery.img and copied it to the ADB file, is this correct? or should i just type the command "flash recovery recovery.img"? and after downloading the oreo update zip in the last part, in what file should i put it in?
thanks in advance to anyone who will reply

Hey noob, i did try it and it worked. Its a temporary unlock so everytime you will need to be doing it before flashing any thing.
Thanks for the reply ^^
