hello. does anyone know if the developer preview supports wireless charging? i have a Nexus 6 with NFC turned on, but when i place it on the charger nothing happens. I've tried 3 different chargers and didn't use a case while trying to charge. As you know the Nexus 6 is qi enabled. Thank you.

maybe. i bought an older samsung wireless charger, and at first, i had a hard time getting it to connect. until i realized that it needs to be put on a little lower. now ive no problem with it.
thanks for all the replies. I have found the problem... the TYLT charger i have is defective. And here I was thinking it was the OS that didn't support it.

Hey Guys,
I was wondering if it was safe for my phone to be charged using this Adapter. It is the HP Touchpad Charger. I would like to keep a charger at home, and take one with me so i dont have to keep pulling it out of my bag.
Thanks in Advance!

If that is not a fake HP charger, it's the best available. You'll be fine. Been trying to buy one myself, but it looks like everyone is charging way too much for them now that they are rare.
Here's a write up on both chargers:

Yes, Ive used my touchpad chargers on my Note 2 many times, charges it really fast. Ive read in another thread the HP charger is one of the top rated ones out of all the ones tested.
I wish i wouldve bought more when they were on sale for $4.99.

Thanks for the Reply! Thats sounds great!! Now I can charge my note 2 without worries.
I actually happened to purchase the touchstone along with the touchpad. Only if there was a mod for the note 2 for wireless charging with it. But the touchpad has the ability built-in, so its not likely.
So I just saw that I can wirelessly charge the X...but what system do I use/how effective is it?
where did you see that?
Yeah, Moto X does not have wireless charging. You must have misread or the source was plain wrong.

You made me doubt myself for a moment there! But alas:
Here's a chart that should give you a solid answer. I looks at several sources, all said it did not have wireless charging unfortunately. It would have been cool to have.
I have a Nokia QI charger I use with my N72. Doesn't work with X.
So I know that people all say the 6 supports Qi wireless charging but in a youtube video review by Marques Brownlee, he said that the 6 won't charge when placed on a nexus wireless charging pad. I am wondering if anyone who's already got his 6 and a nexus wireless charging pad can try it out?
Yes I'd love to hear how it works, and about the magnet location.

Here a screen shot of someone in another forum stating the n6 is indeed working with wireless charging right out of the box. Hope this helps!

I have a Powerbot, it works. Seems to be right in the center is where the spot is.
Edit: Actually it seems to be a little bit more towards the bottom. Here is a picture.
It works just fine lb by tylt vu and other generic chargers. It feels like it charges super slow though (I know it's s huge battery, but still feels extra slow). The quick charging is quite impressive though.
Woohoo! I have a DT-910 (the real model number that was incorrectly written as BT-910 in the screen shot). I was really worried that it wouldn't work with the N6 being so much taller. Unlike most wireless chargers, this stand-up dock won't exactly let you slide the phone down until you find the sweet spot. Thank you Moto/Google for thinking about this and placing the coils a bit below center!
There's another OP (4 actually) about this already please search before posting and yes qi works.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-6/help/qi-charging-t2941516
The charging coil is lower than one would expect: https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/6102554?hl=en&ref_topic=3415470
I have the Nexus 5 wireless charging dock. Only downside i can see is that either there are no magnets/magnetic discs at all, or the curved back greatly diminishes the ability of the magnets in the dock to grab the phone... because there's very little resistance to it. My guess is it's only the magnets being attracted to something else in the phone. Nowhere near as glued to the charger as the Nexus 5 is. Probably the only thing that'll make me want to ditch the Nexus 5's wireless charging puck for something else.

Yeah, my friend got the Nexus 6 (one of the few to place an order) and he says his nexus 7 2013 qi wireless charger still works perfectly. He just has to place it DIRECTLY in the middle.
Hope this helps

Fantastic mate! I have the same one (I think), I bought it directly from Google Play to charge my Nexus 5!
On a slightly different note I'm in Europe and my brother is in San Francisco. He is coming to Ireland next week and I want him to bring me a Nexus 6! I know I may run into issues with LTE but is there anything else I should be aware of? He will most likely buy it from T-Mobile in the USA, I think they are normally good in terms of phones not being locked etc.?
All the best,
M
I have a nexus 6 turbo charger would that yield fast charging ?
What charger ships with the gs6?
Yes.
Samsung Adaptive Fast charge charger.

I see that I probably should have added the phrase "That is my opinion" to my post. :silly:
My logic is that the adaptive fast charger originally came with the GS6 and thus it's designed by the same OEM for that exact model. You could argue that the adaptive charger that came with the Note 4 should be the same one. It actually is not. The Note 4's is based on Qualcomm's Quick Charge 2.0 technology, while the GS6's is a different standard, mainly because it's not rocking a Qualcomm chip anymore.
My point is that it's definitely a safer bet to use accessories that came with the phone or claim compatibility with it. I'm not stopping anyone from doing what they want with their chargers, but I would just caution you to do a bit of research first to make sure what you're doing will not damage that $800 marvel we put our money in.
Just my opinion, of course. :good:

I disagree. Fast charge is fast charge, homie. Plug your N6 or S6 charger into your S6 and the same thing happens.
This is just my opinion if you have an s6 charger why would you use one from another phone?

Hey guys,
Did somebody else watched this? Apparently the Nexus 5x and 6P USB-C standard chargers are not safe!! I am really worried because I'm using mine in my daily basis to charge my N5X and my wife LG G5.
Can somebody corroborate this tests?

Yes, watch it even before xda portal post. Benson has mentioned Nathan K. and Gtrusted related works on G+ before.
Part 2 is here too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VBcjlGu4uLo
The chargers just being dumb and will provide power output whenever a circuit is completed.
Even the other side doesnt told it to, like a dog bite into the cable.
Or the other side is a usb power host too and doesnt told it to provide output [this is BAD], just don't try it.
What you need to know is don't connect it to others usb power host.
Then it should be fine. Meanwhile, we waited for Google's proper response or recall.
I have that charger... Is there a cheap way to check it for any faults?
Hello, my 5x charger charges the phone rapidly in the beginning, but it slows down after 80-85%, does that mean it's intelligent? Should I worry or not?

That's normal, how "quick charge" works. However, that is not the issue being discussed :good:

That's the way it was designed, but it isn't the charger that is controlling that. The phone is the one controlling how much current it pulls, subject to what the charger conveys it can handle or some default rules if that information is not explicitly available.
I have to say that my Nexus 5X charger is dead because the fabric problems with it
Is there any other fast charger to use on Nexus 5X? I mean, use safely, without concerns.

If you are really worried about the safety of these chargers, I can only imagine the state you're in when you contemplate driving to work.
