Thinking of taking the plunge and have seen the ebay offerings, are there any that are more reliable, any advice appreciated?

Advice for a Newbie

This is my first thread, so please be gentle. For some this may seem trivial and petty but any advice would be appreciated!
Basically I got my Diamond (MDA IV) today and its got a nasty scratch and chip on the back. T-Mobile have been a bit useless and have basically told me to send it back and reorder it...with a likely dispatch date at the end of August. And I did ask for some money back so I could buy a replacement back myself (T-Mobile's is light and a bit naff nothing like the original Diamond pics)
My question; should I live with the scratch, keep pushing for some credit, leave T-mobile, or any fresh ideas from the forum.
Cheers Guys
P.S: there is no MSN, Co-Pilot is only a demo, and it has 192mb RAM
I would suggest - Accept the credit.. Live with the scratch.. doesn't matter. In a week or so, you will probably put up more chips and scratches that you would want to count.
Happens with all the phones. Chill mate.
If its the back cover then you can buy a new one. If it is the cover then you could splash out and buy the extended battery and cover:

that is a much sweeter looking back then I have! Wonder if it'll fir the MDA though...and I'm not entirely sure T-Mobile will be happy giving me 40pounds to spend on a cover...here's hoping though

Plenty of Sprint Touch handsets available on e-Bay for $70-80, and in many cases you can get one for closer to $50-60.

[Q] Hi there - Specifically for uk/london people

Hi there,
First post so first up let me just say hey been lurking on here for awhile but never needed to post before! I seem to have had the worst luck ever, purchased two samsung phones first off a galaxy s2 off ebay which I was really looking forward to using and then an s8000 from cex which I wasn't looking forward to using so much. I've spent a lot of time unlocking and sim unlocking them only to find out they are both IMEI blocked, I've spent a lot of money on them and even when i've taken them into the operators they have been no help even going so far as suggesting I have stolen both of them. I don't really want to give up on either phone but spending £100 on a z3x box just for two phones is a bit much, so I wanted to know if there's anyone in london with a z3x box who would be willing to help me. I understand that it probably looks a bit dodgy asking on a new account like this but I can only assure you of my sincerity. I'll understand if no one is willing to help but if anyone is could they please get in touch with me.
Thanks for your time.
You need to get your money back from ebay and cex, shouldn't be a problem, always get imei no before buying, if they don't provide it, they are hiding something

Screen replacement :(

Hi guys! Just got a little cracking on my One, any advices how to replace it yourself or where to go to get it done? I've seen a lot of screens on ebay but the price range variety is huge, so I don't want to buy some bad quality screen anyway, if you happened to have the same problem, I would really appreciate it if you give me a practical advice. Thank you!

There is a full disassembly video on YouTube. Unfortunately it is not a simple repair. Read this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2353895
Then watch the video:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cyrxa23OwME&feature=share&list=UUeI5PxCt2kOVkIHrIb6LH5Q
Then think long and hard over whether it's worth replacing it yourself and voiding your warranty over sending it to HTC and paying the $150 they'll charge you to do it.

best screwdrivers for phones that dont break quickly

Good evening everyone at xda, i really respect and am in awe at you all.
I know that was a bit much but i have used your guides and tutorials for years now and would like to say thanks!
but anyways, heres my problem.
I have after working for computer repair companies, mobile phone repair companies, tech businesses and everything else besides, finally started my own repair business.
this is my second business as my first biz is a recycling company for electronics but i hope you can see the 2 naturally go hand in hand.
What i am asking you clever people, is what tools i should be buying.
I am going through tri wing screwdrivers at an alarming rate.
is there a good brand that will take more than 5 repairs before becoming blunt???
was looking at the gtopol pendriver but seems difficult to get.
Any help would be great and thanks for all your work guys, especially twrp team,
thanks in advance
Doccy
