help me pleas
If your are logged into your Mi Account on the phone you can do this: apply for the bootloader unlock code with that MI account (use other phone while you fix the xiaomi), wait for the unlock approval sms code, its tooks like 7 to 15 days, then download the software for the unlock bootloader process, loggin with your approved mi account, put your phone in fastboot mode, connect it to the pc press start and thats all (no need to boot in normal mode for unlock), you should have your bootloader unlocked and you will be able to enter in EDL mode and flash again the rom.
P.D. Sorry for my bad english
Ehi, I know how to fix your phone.
I can link you an italian forum's thread, a guy had your same problem. You have to plug your phone to pc and press power button and vol+ button, your pc will recognize it correctly if you had installed drivers, even if your phone shuts down. Now you can enter in edl mode (maybe mi5 is already in it) and flash a rom with miflash.
Sorry for my English.
Have you try to flash using MiFlash?
You can download it from here
My friend also encounter this problem and what he did is:
1. Use a fresh installed notebook with Win 7
2. Use MiFlash to flash the image file.
Image file can be downloaded from here.
It should works with locked bootloader as you are flashing the stock image.
Please give it a try.

When I noticed this strange behaviour, I switched to fastboot mode again (VolDown + Power) and unlocked bootloader again using MiUnlock tool for Windows and USB data cable. After that it my phone works again. No data was lost - everything remained as before.
Hello!
Was using 7.2.8.0 ROM out of box.
Tried to update to developer 6.5.19 but something went wrong. Now only fastboot/recovery works. Can't do fastboot oem edl - tells me it should be unlocked. Same problem with fastboot flash system - tells me device is locked. Me PC Suite doesnt recognize device at all. Tried on my laptop and PC. Help please.
any1?
Are you logged into your Mi Account on the phone? If yes I guess you have to wait for bootloader unlock and then flash rom with fastboot.
I logged in last time my phone worked.
The unlock procedure uses my phone and it cannot start so I will be unable to unlock it since only fastboot and recovery modes are available.
any other suggestions?

Any luck alien2k1?
I'm in the same boat, bricked Mi 5, can access bootloader and TWRP recovery, but can't turn phone on because of bootloop. I want to use Mi PC Suite to flash the fastboot rom. But, when my phone is in Fastboot mode, and I connect it to the computer with the micro USB, it says "Try connect in normal mode first then switch" . But my phone is stuck in a bootloop and I can't "connect in normal mode first." It can't detect my phone in Fastboot mode, and it can't detect my phone in "normal mode" because I can't turn the phone on in normal mode because it gets stuck in a bootloop.
My bootloader is unlocked.
I can't open MiFlash either and I can't turn on USB debugging on the phone because its stuck in a bootloop. What should I do?

If you're on unlocked bootloader and can access fastboot, why don't you use the fastboot packages? There's a script provided by them in the fastboot downloads to flash everything

I am in the same ****in situation, have you solved your issue ?
thanks
Looks like everyone is in the same boat here. I have tried several methods but the Redmi Note4 wont work. Mi PCSUIT wouldnt detect my phone either. Fastboot wont work with the message "Try connect in normal mode and then switch." I am wonder what is the sure and final solution to this problem. The issue is flashing all over the internet but no specific solutions yet.
If you have any working solution, please share. Thanks

Same problem but on EVA-AL00 running AL19C636B190
Have u tried to unlock bootloader or flash boot/recovery with fastboot mode?
I have the same problem, any ideas?
I had the same issue, three only thing that worked for me was to get the phone into recovery, vol down and power and flash through DC phoenix
My P9 make "self reset" all time, until battery gets empty. I can't get into recovery
Open hisuite enter recovery area plug phone to pc you see vol down + power screen. Press vol- and power button you must go to fastboot screen. If phone recover by hisuite thats ok.
If not, you need unlocking bootloader with srk tool ( must have unlock code ) flash twrp with command fastboot flash recovery twrp.img or use srk tool to flash twrp recovery.
Enter recovery upload files to sd card, flash L09C432B322 zip than hw_eu zip. Your phone must boot with nougat. (Of course your phone dont C432, you must use your phone B322 files)
If you dont use nougat do a rollback prosedure.

Use dc phoneix for unlock bootloader . (I dont use so i dont know how to use)
Did anyone ever find an working solution for this, my problem is almost identical to the OP's but mine gets stuck on the bootloader unlocked warning screen, says the phone is rebooting but never does. I'm unable to turn the phone off without it instantly restarting and hanging on the bootloader warning screen, phone also gets super warm when on this screen. HELP
Hello, this is not the first time I'm rooting an Android phone, and I had no problems with any of my past attempts. However, this situation with Huawei P9 EVA-L09 has given me a headache...
I have originally followed this guide:
https://theunlockr.com/2016/12/06/root-huawei-p9-p9-plus/
(which appears to have skipped tiny but crucial part on flashing twrp - so I don't recommend)
Everything was going fine until I have flashed TWRP on my still NOT-rooted Huawei P9 EVA-L09 (adb reboot bootloader ; fastboot flash twrp-3.1.0-0-eva.img) successfully:
target reported max download size of 471859200 bytes
sending 'recovery' (22462 KB)...
OKAY [ 0.639s]
writing 'recovery'...
OKAY [ 0.302s]
finished. total time: 0.944s
After this I have used the command fastboot reboot and phone started normally. However when I try booting into custom TWRP recovery I just flashed and get the usual bootloader unlocked warning! I either get stuck at Phone is booting now... or I get into original EMUI Huawei eRecovery.
Did I do something wrong? What do I do after flashing TWRP?
I have read somewhere that original EMUI ROM maybe rewrites custom recovery if OS(ROM) boots before you entered recovery so could this be my problem? How do I reboot directly into TWRP from fastboot to avoid booting into the ROM?
Also, what is the correct way to boot into TWRP, what key combo? Since I get phone bootloader unlocked warning! right after powering on the phone, do I press the combination right away or after the warning shows up? I've been trying to boot custom recovery for hours, this is just silly...
Put simply I can't seem to get into TWRP I just flashed so I can install SuperSU from SD card to root my phone...
I have tried older TWRP version too, didn't help.
Phone is Huawei P9 EVA-L09, Android 7.0 EMUI 5.0, tried both TWRP versions from here: https://dl.twrp.me/eva/
After flashing twrp you should special reboot to twrp. Adb command reboot with pushing vol + and at the same time disconect usb cable. Check this on twrp official

How will I do anything with adb if I'm in fastboot mode? Only fastboot commands work...
Maybe you thought fastboot reboot and key combos, but which combos are correct? The TWRP official page says I should Google for key combo (how come they don't know lol, I guess they had to test the bloody thing?) and I have googled but some people say it's power down, some up, some both, what the f? When I think I got it right I get stuck on Device is booting now...
I've just tried this:
Flash TWRP 3.1.0-0-eva again over ADB
fastboot reboot + VolUp held and USB cabble plugged out
Stuck forever at Device is booting now... (below the Unlocked bootloader warning).
Ofcourse fastboot.

Solved this part by using this TWRP version:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/twrp-t3565703
The button combination to enter TWRP on P9 EVA-L09 EMUI 5.0 is - Power and Vol+ buttons held while fastboot reboot command is issued in CMD and USB cable unplugged, all at the same time. After device vibrates you should release only the power button. When you see 'Device is booting...' you can release Vol+ too. TWRP should now boot.
Now on to root...
Solution:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/how-to/twrp-3-0-2-0-n-t3506947/post70927601#post70927601
After flashing EMUI 5.0 EVA-L09C432B378 and update B378_update_data_full_hw_eu and wiping my phone (wipe data/factory reset - yes this was probably stupid without backup or anything), it boots fine but there is no keyboard app, only useless voice control. This wouldn't be a problem if I could get past EMUI welcome screen and install keyboard.apk manually but it won't allow me to use the phone until I log into Google account which I used on the phone before factory reset. It doesn't allow me to access SD card or anything either, doesn't even ask for permission when plugged in. Flash process also rewrote TWRP recovery so I only have eRecovery atm (bootloader is still unlocked but this is useless at this point). I also cannot enable Dev options/USB debugging or reach phone settings (all reset to default obviously) at all because I can't get past EMUI welcome wizard without a keyboard... I can use dialer keypad in emergency call mode before starting the welcome wizard, for example I just checked my IMEI, but most other commands don't work.
Any ideas? I read that there is a rollback version which will enable me to flash the previous EMUI/Android6.0 version, but which rollback is right for my device European EVA-L09C432B378 phone? I don't want to get into more trouble by flashing a wrong file...

Thank you all for the help
I think I did something really bad... I have rooted phone and TWRP installed on a P9, but no ROM. I was trying to enter TWRP recovery and I did "fastboot oem relock XXXXXXXXXXX".
Now I see only the white screen with little andoid robot saying:
Attention!
Please update system again
...
Error!
Func NO: 11 (recovery image)
Error NO: 2 (load failed!)
Am I screwed ? :0
Thank you so much in advance

Don't understand why you thought that relocking bootloader would help you to enter TWRP, but it's too late for discussions about.
Relocking bootloader trigers hard reset, but hard reset fails if you don't have stock partititions (eg, TWRP means you don't have stock recovery, root means you don't have stock boot partition).
You didn't have and you don't have OS (hence you will not be able to Unlock OEM, and if TWRP was deleted, you can't flash it - TWRP is usually needed to recover)
You should first find out what you really have now :
Press power for long (if needed, even for half a minute), to make sure phone switches off. Make sure USB is disconnected. Boot by Vol+, Vol- and Pow: does it boot to TWRP, eRecovery or to nowhere?
Turn off again, connect by USB to PC (same USB cable, same PC you previously flashed TWRP from or locked/relocked your bootloader from). Power on by Vol- and Pow, does it boot to Fastboot and does Fastboot say that FRP and Bootloader are locked or unlocked.
If you still have TWRP (first test) or if Bootloadr and FRP are unlocked (test 2) in which case you can flash TWRP -you are good, you can try some methods to install stock ROM through TWRP, like HWOTA method:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787156&postcount=3
If you have eRecovery, you can pull out SD card and pepare it for DLOAD instalation of ROM.
Bad if you don't have any recovery and FRP and/or Bootloader is locked. Maybe DC Phoenix can help you then

With FRP Unlocked you can try to unlock Bootloader - it will fail to hard reset, but if it unlocks, you will be able to flash TWRP.
With TWRP you can try - download and use stock ROM for your model:

Are you on P9 Nougat?
Better use TWRP from here
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=75787111&postcount=1
Nevertheless, what does it mean you cannot access TWRP - does Fastboot on the PC side report successful flashing?
If so, then
- keep USB connected to both phone and PC
- press and keep pressing Vol+, Vol- and Pow on the phone (it will not reboot yet)
-execute fastboot reboot
and immediately after disconnect USB
-keep presing three buttons as above, release Pow when it shows booting
You must be quick (with USB disconnectibg) and do exactly as above - with that phone should reboot to TWRP
If you don"t get it, phone will reboot to System and you will loose TWRP (you will have to flash TWRP agai)
Only when you first time upon flashing enter TWRP as above, TWRP will remain and later you will be able to enter TWRP as usual
Solution
For anyone pretty much, who has ****ed up his Huawei P9:
I got to the state where I could only enter Fastboot mode (Press vol- and connect power cable). When I tried to start the phone / go into recovery it would only display the "Your device has been unlocked and can't be trusted" Message. My mistake was to relock the bootloader in an attempt to get the recovery to work.
I looked for hours for the answer, here is what worked for me:
follow this tutorial (the "update firmware" part)
German

But with real precision, every step.
If you have a european unbranded L09 you should be fine using the firmware you can find on this site:
https://thedroidguru.com/download-install-huawei-p9-b394-nougat-update-europe/
if not you gotta find the full firmware (3 files!!) yourself - good luck!
If you only want to go back to stock you should be fine afterwards.
If you want to install twrp for root/custom rom/... follow these steps after installing twrp with the tool:
Upon flashing TWRP, FIRST THING YOU MUST DO is rebooting to TWRP. If you don't do that, stock Recovery will ovewrite TWRP.
Find instructions in the TWRP threads how to enforce immediate booting to TWRP, upon you flashed it:
-Type on the PC: fastboot reboot -but don't press Enter yet.
-Press and keep pressing Vol+ and Power buttons together on the phone
-Press Enter on the PC and then immediately unplug USB cabel.
-When phone shows Booting, release Power but keep pressing Vol+. button
Hope this helps, I don't take responsability for anything, happy flashing!
I just received this smartphone from a friend of mine.
The smartphone is locked on the "androidone" logo.
In the past I fiddled with different andorid devices but with xiaomi I am really puzzled, I don't know how to move.
I tried to enter recovery mode, pressing "vol +" and "power" without a positive result.
I can get into fastboot mode and try to flash the rom with miflasher but I get an error: can not file all.bat.
How can I solve it?
Is your bootloader unlocked?
first unlock bootloader (critical too) then try to flash original stock rom with miflash. Dont try to downgrade android version idk you know it or not but A2 has antiroolback projection which if you downgrade your android version (ex: 9.0 to 8.0) device will delete your phones IMEI code. And the only way of fix that is change main board.

thanks for replay.
I tried to unlock the bootloader with adb commands but the console returns an error.
I remind you that the phone does not start.

You must boot to phone and check oem Unlocking at developer options first. You said u can't enter recovery, at mi a2 is little bit tricky, you keep power and volume + buttons until restart and enters a black screen and after u push 1 time (without keeping buttons) power and volume + button again and it enters at recovery

I have seen many videos on youtube and I realize that the system is compromised.
Recovery mode is impossible to start. Following all the steps I get only a black screen and the recovery does not start.
My question is: Can't I install the firmware via fastboot?
I saw some videos showing a jumper to send the phone to QUALCOMM mode.
Can I flash in this mode having the bootloader blocked?

I can't enter to TWRP recovery u right there is a problem with some Mi A2 devices.
Qualcomm mode is EDL (Qualcomm emergency downloader) and no u can't install firmware or any other thing with bootloader locked. I have googled the enabling oem unlock via fastboot but thats too hard and complicated thing u need to know a lot of things about Android system files, fastboot and .java files to enable it if there is a someone can try to find how to do it and give us a tutorial about that that will be great because thats important thing cuz we can get boot loop with system updates .
Here is the screenshot of the enabling oem unlock via fastboot

I haven't try this but I think you can do that. There are many persons here at forum that they have used this. Search them threads before u start to see exactly how you do this (I think it is time limited the edl mode via jumper)
Here is a similar situation, read the last messages, there is also a video tutorial.
