Any one can answer me please kindly post a reply :}
There's a lot of useful information in the threads about Doc Froyo ROM and SpeedMod Kernel. Maybe you could try reading into that.
Personally, I am really liking Doc Froyo, which has the latest SpeedMod Kernel built in.

1. Not really
2. Voodoo for eclair is awesome. Really improves all forms of lag.
3. Possible brick if you can't get into download mode?
4. If you don't remove lag fix's before flashing you can run into numerous problems, and you may brick your device.
5. Yes, use Odin and reflash back to stock firmware.
I hope this answers your questions....
4.
Thanks alot guys i will read more about this
too bad i dn't know how to add a custom rom , lol but i will try figure it out

Glad to be of help
1. Make sure you DO have 3 button combo download mode... Now, I always have problems getting into download mode. Most of the time, it takes me 3-4 tries with Vol-down, Home, Power, releasing Power button at various moments. I find that its also important to press the Voldown-Home-Power buttons in that order, and release the power button first (soem say, when the big S shows, others say no sooner then when the digging Android puppet is shown). So, are you sure you don't have 3-button download?
2. I have nothing but positive experience with VooDoo Lagfix, following the instructions mentioned at project-voodoo.org (you need 3-button download mode...)
3. Your Galaxy doesn't start anymore, and you cant get into download mode to flash something new
4. At least for Voodoo: Voodoo changes the file system to ext4, AND flashes you ROM so it can read and write ext4. If you flash a new ROM without uninstalling lagfix, you install a ROM that understands RFS filesystem onto a device with a ext4 partition. Your ROM wont be able to read the apps and data partition... Compare it to flashing a FAT32 capable OS to a NTFS partition. What uninstalling Voodoo does is reformatting ext4 back to RFS
5. Voodoo is easely reverted (put one file on your SD card and reboot, voila.)
BTW, if i where you i'd first upgrade to Froyo 2.2 via a normal way (Kies), then its quite safe to install Voodoo. In theory, this can be done even without 3-button combo, by issuing the adb command Reboot Download. But as always: at your own risk...

- Make sure your phone is charged
- Read as much as you can here. Go to the voodoo threads and the rynza OCLF threads and read what others experienced. It can be helpful.
- Rynza's one click lag fix is probably the easiest to apply if you are not confident to fiddle around with the phone.

Hi!
Im having trouble getting into CWM. I have been running MIUI on my Galaxy S i9000 for over a month now without any problems with CWM. Im running MIUI RC8vC right now and decided to update it to the latest release MGv2, but here comes the problem. I can't get into the Clockwork Mod Recovery mode.
What i have been trying is the standard 3-button-combination, where i end up on the splash screen for the Galaxy S i9000 and than nothing more happens (left it on for 10 minutes just to be sure). So i then tried rebooting into CWM using the ROM Manager from Market, ending up with the same result.
My question is, what is the most simple way of fixing this annoying problem?
Thanks!
how long are you holding the 3 button combo for ? you only need to do it until the GT-I9000 screen comes on, then let go.
anyway if you cant get it working its probably kernel related, did you flash they CM7 initial kernel before you came to MIUI,
do this again in ODIN and start the process again
Yepp that's what im doing, I have been using CWM quite a lot so im 100% sure im doing the combo correct, it seems like the CWM just wont boot up.
Yes i did, and after that i have been upgrading MIUI like 10 times for every new version without any problems at all, up until now with this release.
So the solution is to Flash the initial kernel again, then use the 3 button combo and install the latest release and all will be fine again hopefully?

yes, that should work
weird problem and i have never heard of it before lol..
Thanks for the quick answer!
I did what you said and it worked fine, im now running the latest release of MIUI for Galaxy S.
But now i can't get into CWM again! This is really strange, and annoying, if i have to go back to the initial kernel all the time for upgrading MIUI, i do wonder what could be causing this problem. If it was the kernel that comes with the later releases av MIUI i suppose others would have similar problems, but i can't find anyone else having these kinds of problems.
Seems like im beeing followed by bad luck today.
so download mode IS working ??? Hmmm.... not a 3 button combo issue then..
How long have you been on MIUI, did you come from a gingerbread ROM ?
can i just ask how are you doing the 3 button combo..... (i feel stupid asking this, but this problem is so strange)
Yes, works like a charm- so as I said im on the MGv2 right now but with the same problem as before lol.
I've been on MIUI for about a month now, perhaps a little longer. No i came from Darkys v9.5, than did the standard update procedure going to a stock froyo rom and so on as described in the main MIUI thread.
Well im doing it the same way both when on the kernel for CM7 where i can get in, and when on the kernel for MGv2. Menu+Volume Up+POWER, Releasing Power directly when the "Galaxy S i9000 Samsung" splash screen turns up. So im 100% im doing the combination right. I can't get into CWM using the ROM Manager either that donät require the 3-button combination, so there must be something else.
Thanks for trying to help me with this!
no need for thanks we havent got it sorted yet lol
make a post in the MIUI thread in development, there is a lot of cleverer people in there and im hoping that they can shed some light on this bizzare situation
I wanted to do that in the first place, however i must reach 10 posts or so before i can post in there. You could not post my question in there for me you think? So i don't hace to just spam this forum with another 5 posts.

EDIT: have you done a factory reset ? when in recovery did you format /system /cache / dalvik cache and then install MIUI
hey mate had a reply, dont know if you have been checking but here is what was said
I had a similar problem when first installing CM7, I believe it is a problem with having come from the original JVK. The solution was to flash an older Froyo version (JS3 in my case) and repartitioning with 512-pit, then installing MIUI again from scratch. Hope that helps.

Yes a did a complete wipe since I as well thought that might could solve the problem, however it did not.
Okay I will have a go at it tomorrow- I guess i need to find a ROM with a bootloader and all though when downgrading from 2.3.4?
yes, im not sure which firmware contains the bootloader or if you have to check 'update bootloader' in odin, i have never had to do this, so you will have to search.
but let me know how you get on and we can go from there.
Im off to bed now its late, if you get it fixed PM me, if not il be back to check on the thread tomo
Problem is now solved!
I was thinking that MIUI gets updates all the time, and switches between kernels quite often as well, so I decided to wait for the next update with a kernel-switch.
MGv4 was released today and had the kernel-switch I had been waiting for, so I just flashed over the initial kernel for CM7 again using ODIN. Than went into CWM and updated MIUI to MGv4.
Than with my fingers crossed i tried entering CWM again and it worked like a charm.
So I did not have to go back to FroYo and all that again, just had to wait for the next update.
Thanks for your help!
I am starting this thread, since it seems a lot of users are posting their problems in the Development section. New user of a Galaxy Note, I remarked a strange thing with the way the Galaxy Note manage the wifi connexion. At my home, I've one Wifi network. One access point is into my desk and the second into my living room. When I connect my Note on the wifi into my desk room, I got the Wifi at 100% (of course as I'm at 2m of the antenna ;-) ). Now, if I move from my desk to my living room, the Galaxy Note still remain connected to the Wifi of my desk room witch is not good because I lost the 90% of my wifi power.
My question is now: Does it exist any solution to have my Smartphone switching automatically depending on witch room I am ?
For example, with my iPhone and/or iPad, both device automatically use the more powerfull signal (the one of my desk room when I'm in and as soon as I'm more closer of the antenna of my living room it switch to this antenna).
Last information, same problem with a Galaxy S2.
Is it a limitation of Android or a "specificity" of Samsung devices ?
Thx for your feedback !
Force shutdown every time I runs any application
Hello, newcomer's here. I've rooted my N7000 & installed stable CM 10.1.3 ROM, but I can't run any apps more than 10 minutes or less.
When I runs an app (especially games), even when the battery was 100%, the device will force shut. When I immediately turned it on after the
force shutdown, it will force shut at cynogenmod boot screen, but sometimes when I managed to (barely) get in, the battery bar indicates there's
only 1% charge left. So, I thought I should try BatteryCalibration, but still the same issue. Then I thought maybe it's the ROM, so I
installed the updated nightly version CM 10.2 ROM, and the same issue occurs again. I've searched in "All Forums" and found the idea on "wipe
battery stats" in recovery after install new ROM, but I can't find that option in CWM. Then, I read the idea of wiping battery stats has no effect at
all in the battery issue (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2256038). So, I flashed the stock ROM back and I didn't
face any issue on force shut and rapid battery drain anymore. But I've found a similar situation faced by other member in this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2506468. Do I have to go that far just for remedy?
Is there any solution for this? Because I like custom ROM than using the stock, it's fast and swift RAM usage. Thanks for any advice on this.
Did you try a different battery to start with.?
my N7000 (factory firmware 4.1.2) was in charging, then suddenly its turn off automatically, then i switch on it, it stuck at boot screen..
cannot go recovery mode,
can go download mode with android logo, not ' ! " logo
flash back factory firmware, ordin stuck at boot.bin..FAIL

N7000 screen
Hi, I'm not sure wether this is the right thread, but it is a question and I do need an answer..
Does anyone know wether the display of N7000 is the same as SHV-E160L?
I have one N7000 with a broken glass and LCD, and can get hold of a SHV-E160L for same price as the display only.. Would there be a way to frankenstein the LTE possibilities of SHV-E160L into the N7000?
Hope someone has hands on experience with this.. At least the screen part, since it is the main reason for the project..
LTE would be the icing on the cake..
Not sure of the screen but LTE is the compatibly dependent on SOC. The SHV has a snapdragon processor and Exynos doesn't have.
how to disable custom rom flashing twrp recovery? and just stay on cwmr?
First post ever on forum, sorry if i did something bad
You really can't. If the custom rom (may be you are referring to kitkat) comes only with twrp, you need to live with it till some kernel Dev makes a kernel with cwm compatible 4.4.

its chewing and chewing for like 5 mins when i press next for login.. and then gives error "cant sign in to server"

Hey guys. I just rooted, flashed a new ROM ( newest CM7) onto my p970 last night, so yeah, I'm a total newb and so much confused about these things. Apparently I saw a thread about kernels and that they kinda improve performances and stuff, so I tried installing them. And now my phone is in boot loop state and I can't boot CWM to reflash the original kernel. I used Huexxx's kernel from this thread.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1332311
So I'd be really grateful if someone could link a thread on how to fix this, or a step by step guide. And I'm totally new to this forum so I'd like to apologize beforehand if I break any forum rules and the likes. Thx.

* nvm, I somehow was able to boot into CWM from the boot screen and then I just reflashed the current ROM. Thx btw
What has happened to you device? Bootloop? DO this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1275315 AND READ my NOOBGUIDE!
You have to flash a new software, root it, install CWM and then reflash CM7 WITHOUT KERNEL! There is none working at this time. Although Nova 12 is planed for it

| Thx for the reply, really appreciate it. Man there are a lot o' things I need to learn
| btw, if you don't mind answering, it seems that the phone gets real laggy after a an hour or so of turning it on. I've checked the apps and made sure that none are eating up the phone's memory. Is it just me or does it has something to do with CM7?
Hope you dont use any memory cleaner or other "tuning" software, since this mostly only messes the phones up... Mine runs fine, so I guess it is a problem on your side. I always recommend fix permission from within RomManager, cause it often solves/solved problems. I also always move all apps to SD card, inside of App Manager (the stock one, not anyone from market) cause it saves space and resources for the phone.
Did you mess around with cyanogen settings? Which governor do you use? Maybe use SetCPU or NoFrills or similar? If so, uninstall it.
Simply list all your apps, if none of the given tips helped And do a reboot all couple days, since it seems to be good for the phone
Hi Guys,
Hope someone a bit more clued up than myself can clarify my questions or guide me..
I've done some searching, but am not 100% confident.
So, I have a I9305 running a Boeffla Kernel 5.2. If I recall correctly, I upgraded from 4.1.2 to 4.3, but
kept my old bootloader. So I am rooted and have TWRP on this 4.3 based CFW. No KNOX anywhere.
(Did all this about 12 months ago or more, and have had some significant life events in the last year,
so have been completely out of the scene.. )
Anyway, I was considering upgrading to 4.4.4 (stock)
Can anyone tell me if I can do this and remain Knox free and have a custom recovery such as TWRP.
(If so can you point me to a working guide?)
Thanks Heaps in Advance,

Hi,
you have 3 options:
- Option #1: Stay with your old 4.1.2 firmware base with OLD bootloader and you can flash which custom KitKat ROM you want (N4 Elite ROM, TGP, AMCHA KK, etc.). If your favorite ROM is NOT compatible with TWRP, you will have to flash PHILZ recovery 6.48.4 instead and then flash the ROM. If the custom ROM is compatible with TWRP, you will only have to flash the ROM.
When you will flash the ROM, don't forget to choose a KK modem (XXUFNI3, XXUFNJ1 or XXUFOA1 depending on the ROM base) to have a working baseband and also, don't forget to choose a compatible Kernel with OLD bootloader (AGNi, HBO kernel or Dlite). Note : Stock kernel is not 100% compatible with OLD bootloader : WIFI will not work.
- Option #2: Upgrade to latest official 4.4.4 stock (I9305XXUFOC1) for i9305 with ODIN : this way, you will have new 4.4.4 KNOX bootloader and you will not have custom recovery anymore. If you want to stay like this, you will be 100% stock and 100% up-to-date from Sammy.
- Option #3: Follow the option #2 and then root your phone and flash custom recovery. You could finally stay like this or flash a custom ROM. If you choose to flash a custom ROM, one good thing is that you will be able to use stock kernel (100% working including WIFI) if available with this ROM.
You can follow that guide from @MaHo_66 : http://forum.xda-developers.com/gal...covery-i9305-cwm-philz-twrp-versions-t2694249
Reminder: To go VERY clean wipe and install a custom firmware :
1. Backup all your data
2. Full wipe (data, cache and dalvik) in recovery including internal sdcard (internal sdcard format option in mounts and storage settings)
3. Flash a i9305 official firmware (4.1.2, 4.3 or 4.4.4) via ODIN. IMPORTANT : If you don't want KNOX BL because of warranty purpose, don't flash official 4.3 or 4.4.4 via ODIN.
4. Root
5. Flash custom recovery : (Philz for instance)
6. Install custom ROM
Steps 4 and 5 can be permuted.
PS: Off topic : @MaHo_66, you're now a RC, well done !
Thanks @FLooDW

Just the answer I was after. I wasn't sure if it was even possible to have a custom recovery on KNOX 4.4.4 bootloader.
I dropped out of the scene just as KNOX raised its ugly head...
I'm not worried about the warranty at all. Phone is two years old and well out of warranty period.
I'll go Option #3, sounds like just what I was after.
Thanks again!

I'm very happy about perf with latest Amcha and AGNi. I have between 26000 and 26600 in AnTuTu without any overclock.
User experience is great in my case.
I don't use Fly-on mod (available in Amcha for instance) because I've noticed some big lags with my config on my phone.
All went pretty well. Had a couple of hangs, but got them all sorted.
Currently restoring, but having an issue where the phone switches from "USB Media mode" to "Dock Mode" and back and forth.
Weird issue I've never seen before....
