Official updates for international N920C - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello!
I read that Samsung has already released updates/security_patches for our N920C but if I try to check (OTA) for them it says that there isn't any available update.
I saw many screenshot with latest security patch that brings the build_number to "...U2BPE4" or newer but my build number is stuck at "...U2BPB6" from many months.
My N920C is unbranded and completely stock.
What could be the problem?
I admit I didn't wait for the OTA Marshmallow Update but instead I have used the first Marshmallow ROM that was coming from Morocco or Cambodia (don't exactly remember but I don't live there).
I just found the "N920CXXU2BPF5" (from Thailand) from official SamMobile page. Is it safe to manually flash it via Odin?
(There is also the "N920CXXS2BPG1" from Russia that is the newest, but the "S2" makes me in trouble if I can/can't flash it over my U2BPB6 version)
Thx

flash the thailand version
there won't be a problem and it will not touch your warranty.
I have n920c and have thailand version flashed
also it is much faster to update through sammobile than wait for ota to the phone .

Updating is easy and if Sony PC Companion is malfunctioning, you could use Flashtool ( get it here )
After that you can download the latest firmware ( ftf format ) here
There are some guides on how to flash the latest firmware, and don't worry flashing won't void your warranty or root your device.
This is the best and the most informative click me
Good luck
Hi
If I do that, will ota updates work in future?
Don't have time to fiddle around too much now and again every time there's an update,
Any ideas how to get it to pick up the ota update, which I'm sure has already been released for its region?
There's a thread around here with a tool to download the official full firmware files per region and flash them to your phone.
As long as you use a region that's compatible (with radios and all) the effect should be a perfectly fresh installed stock phone that will pick up OTA's just like any other official firmware.
sony flashtool or something? I can't remember.
Hi,
The firmware thats on the phone is global region,
23.0.A.2.93 - Unbranded - GLOBAL (1286-9917) #1
But i dont see lollipop updates for it.
Which region firmware should i use to flash?? Which would work 100%
Pls help with some advise asap which will work

can't install three firmware on my duos N950F

Downloaded the most recent three firmware from sammobile (currently on most recent BTU). When I flash on odin I get the annoying BINARY 2 FIRMWARE 1 error.
Do y'all reckon it's because my BTU firmware and bootloader is more recent than the three firmware? And it won't let me roll back??!!
Really wanna get WiFi calling and VOLTE on this thang!!!!!
Any thoughts appreciated
Anyone?...
if you're on the latest update with the January security patch it won't allow you to install previous versions, it said in the update message
I will be keeping a eye out for the latest three firmware for the same reason
I didn't see the three firmware on samobile

Setting CSC to BTU needed for OTA?

Hi,
Recently got a Note 8 and found it was the Italian version with the CSC code TIM.
I then used Odin to flash the latest Oreo BTU firmware, and afterwards wiped the cache and reset to factory settings.
However, I'm not sure if this will allow future OTA firmware updates?
My brother also has a Note 8 which was the UK version and upgraded to Oreo via OTA, and using the phone info app, found his firmware versions and CSC codes were identical to mine, so I'm not sure if my phone will receieve OTA updates for BTU or not?
If not, what steps do I need to follow to ensure I do?
Thanks
I flashed my uae import to XEU and then VOD oreo. I am getting OTA updates.

Note 9 Update to other CSC

I have two questions.
I updated my note 9 pie via "apply update from sd card" a few weeks ago and all went well. However i'm wondering if I still will be able to get updates (from the NEE region). I am on the NEE region CSC, but I applied the update file before the pie update rolled out in the NEE region, but with a newer build number of the pie update. (note that I did update to pie already on NEE region CSC without reseting the device)
If Updating OTA is not possible in the future, can I just flash the newer NEE region update (with reset ofc) without downgrading to oreo first?
Thanks in advance!
Yes, if OTA is for some reason is not available use Odin instead (and no downgrading to Oreo).

don't understand

Hi can someone please help
I have unlocked Note 9 in the United Kingdom on three network ( purchased the handset and have a SIM only network deal ).. When will I get an OTA software update ? ... On SAMMOBILE I keep seeing new firmware builds for Note 9 and then the network name including ones for three... Is it Samsung or three that push the OTA software builds to my device ?
What CSC and what build do you have?
You can always grab latest available firmware ( OXM multi CSC ) and flash it manually through Odin. This won't trigger Knox or avoid warranty. Do make sure you know what you're doing and that you download the right firmware.
