tl;dr - After upgrading to MM, any updates to Google apps are lost after reboot.
I dealt with this issue by deleting apps and installing fresh from the Play Store. This presented a new problem: those same apps had to be reconfigured after every reboot. Gmail, Photos... even Pokemon Go had to be setup all over every time.
Recently, I've noticed that apps are just randomly deleting themselves. I lost T-mobile Tuesdays, Yelp and some other apps. I don't notice they're gone until I need them.
It seems like MM just can't retain some data, like installed apps, between reboots. I've tried clearing caches, factory reboots and re-Odining... I'm at a loss as to what to try next. I'm about to revert to my LL nandroid backup because this phone has become a pain to use.

I know this topic has been around for a while, however, some of the suggested work-a-rounds are false....
Currently, I am battling the 'android.process.acore' stop error and none of the suggested fixes are solving the issue.
Here it is....
Verizon LG G2, running Android 5.0.2 (Lollipop) as an OTA update on April 3, 2015.
Since the upgrade the phone has been sluggish and glitchy no matter what apps I ran or uninstalled.
I did a Factory Data Reset this past weekend and now, I have the added bonus of 'Unfortunately, the process android.process.acore has stopped'.
Cache clearing, Data Reset and Force closing of contacts and contact storage do nothing.
Facebook is not installed.
PayPal is not installed.
I am not using the VZW Backup Assistant for my contacts, either.
The contact sync fix app from Google play did nothing.
It has been suggested that this is a problem Google is aware of, anyone agree?
As for my issue, I am left with no choice but to perform another FDR and then begin installing my apps one-by-one until something happens? Does not sound like a very productive suggestion to me.
The 'real' solution should not be replace the phone with a newer android device, should it.....??
Awaiting some feed back and hoping for some new ideas on this problem.
I've been running Lineage 13 for 6 months, but the phone mysteriously got into a boot loop yesterday, so I had clear the local data and re-install the apps from the Playstore
However I found that every time I installed the nRFToolbox app (by Nordic Semiconductors) (Who are a reputable company), that when the App installed, it crashed a load of internal OS services e.g. PlayServices and all sorts of Google services.
If I rebooted the phone it appeared to work OK, but if I went into the "Apps" in Settings, the phone hung again, and I had to reboot it.
I tried updating to the latest unofficial Lineage 13, but that didnt help, so I've now installed the official Lineage 14, and this seems to have solved the problem.
But I don't quite see how a single app can kill so many core services, and I prefer to stay on Android 6 (Lineage 13), because of XPosed and specifically XPrivacy.
(BTW. I know XPosed is now supposed to work on Android 7, but I didnt think XPrivacy will every get ported to work with the updated version of Xposed - at least according to the developer)
Does anyone have any insight into why this app can hang the phone
I don't know, why this APP makes your phone crash, but i had similar problems when installing greenifys latest app and two days ago, i updated some apps ending in bootloops.... I am using unofficial Lineage 13 with xposed and xprivacy too
I run stock OS but have this same issue when updating any big and heavy apps such as Snapchat, Google app and FB Messenger for the past 6 months at least. The app starts to update but then will crash in the installing phase often giving an error such as "503 can't be updated", at which point multiple Google services will crash endlessly the only way to stop the crash is hold down power to force the phone to reboot.
I have reset the phone several times but after setting up the phone and updating all the apps the first update to one of those apps the issue happens again (the app always installs from scratch ok it's only it's updates that cause it)
A sort of fix I have been using (because it doesn't 100% always work) is when you see an update for the app you know will cause the crash first update all the other apps manually leaving only the problem app, then close all apps go to Settings > Storage & USB > Internal storage and clear the Cached data, then power cycle the phone, let the phone boot and complete all it's background tasks it does after booting, then open Play Store and click Update on the offending app then put the phone down and leave it until the app either updates or causes the crashes. If this doesn't work then waiting 24 hours and doing the same steps seems to work.
I am certain it comes from either an app update (probably from Play services or the Play Store app) or maybe from having the phone encrypted which does make the phone run slower especially over time. (May or may not be related but I've noticed on my phone if I factory reset it then after setting it up and updating all the apps I try to encrypt the phone the phone will 'break' and will boot loop forcing a reset from the boot loader, however if I set up the phone, don't update any apps then encrypt it completes successfully, all the apps will then update ok and the phone then functions as you would expect)
All in all this issue is incredibly frustrating!
I am finding that my apps that send notifications, specifically that I send through LIghtflow, are either not notifying, or doing so 30 min. to an hour late.
I am also finding that installing as well as uninstalling apps are quite slow.
POwer saver is not on; battery optimization is not on for the offending apps; they are set to run in the background.
Anyone else experiencing this? Or any suggestions?
Regarding the slow downloads, I am finding the download finishes (according to the status bars, etc), but it then goes into a state of Install Pending. Can't find anything on that.
For anyone who cares, I have it resolved for the time being.
After 2 factory resets, I remembered back to the days i used to root my phones, and remembered that one strongly recommended task in that process was to delete cache.
So I did a final factory reset and deleted the cache also and all seems to be good.
When this crops up again I will try the cache delete w/o a factory reset and see how it goes.
Not getting much help here but I'll keep this thread upgraded.
It is again not working right. Lightroom is either not notifying or it's doing it 30 minutes late.
Play store downloads but then doesn't install for a period of time.
I'm beginning to think something is wrong with the phone.
This thing is driving me nuts. Following is what's going on, and have seen:
I've gone through 4 factory resets. All works find at first. Having decided that maybe there is an app interfering, I installed an app or two, tested, repeat...with delays between repeats. All seems fine.
But then late into the second day, w/o any installs, I goes haywire again. Symptoms are:
I use DGT GTD for my ToDo list. First thing I will notice is that when I add a new task, it will NOT show up in the widget list, and at the same time it stops notifications.
All apps stop sending notifications to Lightflow...or LIghtflow does not recognize the notifications. Not sure which is the case.
When add a new app on the Play Store, it downloads as quick as normal, but then it takes forever to install.
I installed AVAST, and checked for viruses. Came back clean.
I suspect it could be a phone problem. My Mate 9 works fine right now, with all the same apps. But, when a factory reset results in it working (at least during the short time a tech would evaluate), the phone can't be exchanged.
If anyone has any thoughts. I'm all ears. I'll keep posting, hopefully, ultimately, with a resolution. Maybe it'll help someone.
This might be the app itself but I didn't have any issue on my S20. Since I updated the phone it randomly cuts out. Any ideas? Never on WiFi though...

Is it when the screen is off? Check it's not been put to sleep in battery settings
it seems that latest ROM updates (I think I have this on all AUB* ones) is weirdly strict on background activities and cuts every one of them. my whole device acts strangely - apps not showing notification or showing them late (hours later than they were supposed to show), my apps are not updating: I have to repeatedly FC play store, then clear its cache so that currently installing app changes state from downloading to installing, than do it again to change state fomr installing to installed etc. worked fine on AUA* ones. it is really annoying. btw I tried to clear cache and dalvik/art cache from recovery, but that did not help. I have not tried factory seset yet...
It seems that it was data corruption during regular OTA. Factory reset seems to fix problems for me.
I'll try a reset.. thankyou
Let's be honest, the Spotify app has issues too begin with. On my S21 and Pixel 4 it can be playing songs to my earbuds then suddenly stop running in the background on its own! Unlock the phone and itis still open in the foreground.
Perhaps it's time for a new music app if this is a known Spotify issue... But if it's not a Spotify issue, then check in your battery settings (as others have mentioned) to see if your phone automatically started putting it into "Sleep Mode".
I have been experiencing a problem with my X4 lately. Suddenly, Google Apps such as Youtube, Google Chrome, Youtube Music, Play Store, even GMAIL started to crash. Out of the blue, they just close, sometimes they close and report that "app x stopped working", and often "Google Play Services stopped working" and this pretty much makes the cellphone unusable, the apps won't open anymore, not even a reboot would solve it. Sometimes apps as Facebook, Instagram, the Native Camera, even SETTINGS will crash. Following this crashes, sometimes the cellphone will just shut off the display and crash, only coming back after a forced reboot (BUT, as strange as it may seem, the long press on the power button works just fine and the display wakes but only showing shut off and reboot options).
I was experiencing this problem with the stock Android 9 ROM. I then removed my google account, wiped it, did a factory reset for a couple times, did not work. I flashed the stock ROM, but the problems only got worse. Then i flashed the Pixel Experience w/ Android 10 using the latest TWRP, same problems happened, with a clean installation, wiped everything. I used it for a couple of months, but the crashes were just increasing over time.
I then installed the Lineage OS 18.1 on Android 11 on my X4; Same thing, clean installation, wiped everything, removed all Google Accounts, flashed the latest GAPPS. Boy oh boy, it was smooth like butter on the beginning (i recommend this ROM very much), one week goes by and the same crashes come back again, every once in a while. I just can't figure what could be causing the crashes, same issues with 4 different roms!
If anyone please has experienced this or know how could i fix it, it would help me very much. Thank y'all for your attention.
Next time it happens i will try and take a screenshot to post here.
Did you ever get a solution to this? I am having the same issue.
