Any way to force 60 fps? Normal 30FPS videos play up to 1440p. 60FPS ones only up to 480p.
Thank you.
Have the same problem here. Hope that Google fix this ASAP.
Same here. Really annoying.
The German Samsung Support wrote me that it's not possible to play 60fps video, because the display only supports a refresh rate of 30 hertz. That was also the reason why watching 60fps video in the browser results in asynchronous sound.
But shouldn't there be an option to play 720p or 1080p with 30fps? Or doesn't Youtube encode 60fps videos additionally in 30fps?
One way is to download Firefox and watch youtube with desktop mode enabled. Synchronous 1080p vids but no 60fps. Better then nothing at this time I think.

Can confirm that it has been fixed as of today. No idea if it was the latest software update, youtube update or something else, but it works!
Can confirm too! Don't need an update. Works also with older versions.

Can Xperia Z3+ handle HEVC 10-bit video?
Owners, check it: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-VmWmLyfoT4dVdTVmtWSVpYOEE/view?usp=sharing
I have been trying to play some 10-bit animes and all off them require SW in MxPlayer it kills the battery because of the load it puts on everything. I haven't found a viable solution yet
Edit: Just tried your video and it runs like crap sorry :/
I have nothing to add to the discussion, i just love that movie.
Try Bsplayer...
Hi guys
I'm wondering if Mi Mix Pro can run 4K videos from YouTube, also are there any news about a Nougat update or is it being left with Marshmallow? Also, does it run 60 FPS videos without lag?
The YouTube app doesn't let me select anything about 1080p. I never noticed that until now.
60FPS video doesn't really mean anything. What matters is the codec, the resolution and the bitrate. Is the video DivX or h264 or h265 or whatever. Which profile? The Mi Mix has an Adreno 530 which can handle 4K up to 60FPS. I tried a few high bitrate (~60Mbps) 4k test clips at 24, 30 and 60FPS and they played fine.
Does the screen shows pixels?

I noticed that the screen pixel density is way too low 361, compare to the S8 or other phones which have 400+?

Hey Andy is that your footage? Did you set it to 4k. The video only plays at 1080 max. Note 9 is set to 1080 by default. Also that wheelie machine.
I find for some reason it wont play in 4K in Chrome, but will in Firefox... I have the same from your video above. It will only play 1080p 60fps in Chrome.
Yes, my own footage.
(If anyone knows why Chrome is like that, please let me know )

it shows 4k on desktop but didn't do it on mobile.
boop
I'm on global 10.0.20.
Despite configuring it in the camera app, recording videos only works at 30 o 120 fps. I choose in "Video HFR" option 1080p, 240fps, but when recording the videos are recorded in 120 fps, as well as when chosing in the app.
Has anyone been able to record at 240fps?
Yeah no problems recording both for me.
Same here
You need to open the options and select "slow-motion" then you can shoot at 240fps
Maybe that's the problem.
I can't record a regular video at 240 fps.
Only slow motion which plays slows. But there is no way to record a "regular video" which plays at regular speed with 240 fps.
Thank you!
There is no option for regular video at 240 FPS. 240 FPS is for HFR mode (which is slow-mo).
240fps regular video recording missing feture after update
I have 240fps regular video recorded with my mi 8 with previons version on firmware. After any update this feature is missing ???
Is there any way to play HDR10 video files with proper HDR colors? HDR works fine in YouTube, but neither the stock player nor VLC or Kodi manage to play the video file properly; washed-out greyish colors are the result. The file is a standard 4k HEVC HDR10 24fps video, and plays fine besides missing HDR. Since the phone itself supports HDR10, I really wonder why it won't work. Is it a software-side artificial limitation to Netflix and YouTube (where HDR works just fine), or is there any technical reason behind this? And would there be any custom ROMs with proper HDR playback support?
Try mxplayer, has better support for hdr metadata than stock &Vlc

Any solution to this....?
i dont have proper information regarding the question asked.. but i felt to share my experience too..
i have VLC , MX player, KM player .. i tried playing Batman begins(2k) movie..
then VLC changed colours drastically by boosting saturation and gamma levels..
KMplayer played it in good colours, i found that something relating to SW/HW enforcing or acceleration has to do with it..
then finally i tried to disable all enhancements in VLC and tried.. then video became choppy..
it couldn't play the video at all.. same as my Laptop ( i3,8th gen - default HDgraphics) plays 4k video in choppy manner
then i thought: they are not only playing video, but converting the video while playing it.. because i can observe loss in detailing of picture ( my laptop with 1080p screen has more detailing than, phone 1080p screen)
