I can't think of a reason why that would matter unless it was built into a specific tray, but it doesn't look like this is. sim cards aren't device specific, they follow a standard. I have no experience with trying to use multiple sim so I can't give any advice on an adapter. Have you tried with another device/sim? Maybe it doesn't fit in the tray/slot well.

Mayne you are right.
I want dual sim for my nexus also, but not found this type item in local market.
Ebay india have higher price, so I can't purchase it.

maybe the problem lies with the software.
Suppose the adapter can be built in and is compatible, maybe it's still necessary to activate dual sim functionality within the ROM... (I don't know how, so don't ask.)
If you succeed, please write a tutorial.

i think it can't work if the radio don't support dual sim.
The n6p has a hidden second sim slot but it don't work beaucuse the radio don't support it

Yes this works fine
Hi - I have dual SIM on my Nexus 5x, though only one SIM can be active at once.
IMPORTANT: If there's an "iPhone 4S" or similar option in the SIM Toolkit setup menu, this must be disabled!!! Most adapters I've seen come with this option active as default so make sure to check!
I have T-Mobile and Verizon SIMs though the Verizon one is LTE-only because the SIM adapter inhibits CDMA (thus data-only with no calls or SMS as VoLTE probably won't work either) ... nevertheless one must use LTE/CDMA radio mode for Verizon to work.
With two GSM SIMs it'll probably work easier. Though, in my experience T-Mobile VoLTE and WiFi calling don't work either...but SMS, GSM/WCDMA 3G/2G calling, and LTE data including band 12 and 13 works perfectly.
But otherwise this absolutely works just fine...if you have the adapter inserted properly the Nexus will load the SIM Toolkit app after a minute or so. With the stock ROM you may need to reboot between switching. With Pure Nexus ROM, all one must do is a toggle of airplane mode twice, manual network type selection if needed (LTE/GSM or LTE/CDMA in my case) and the following build.prop edit and it'll switch without reboot:
persist.radio.apm_sim_not_pwdn=0
My YouTube video above will show this. Tasker can be used to automate all steps and network mode can be changed in the task with GravityBox and Xposed. Good luck!

How did you put it? If we will put adapter it will hide the metallic of the first sim.

I don't have my Nexus 5x anymore but as I recall you have to match the shape of the dual SIM adapter cut to the SIM's diagonal edge on the metallic side and then flip the ribbon cable around the back side of the SIM tray and back out the SIM tray port along the non-metallic side of the SIM. Good luck!

It is locked to the T-Mobile network (If I insert a GiffGaff SIM, it says invalid SIM and asks for code) and there are no other CSCs available by default, but there is no branding to the handset itself apart from a little 'Lte' logo on the back cover

1.) NO
2.) NO
3.) Official only the second, but in my Phone (N7100) both SIM Cards worked 3G
ATTENTION: The Adapter takes quite a lot of space, thats why I changed to the GMate+ from MAGICSIM. Here a small review in german. Works great for me and provides REAL DUAL SIM!
Both mine also work on 3G also. I believe the new Magicsim Elite range allow both SIMs to use 3G, 4G, LTE etc

I have heard that the SIM in Gmate Plus does not support 3g data, is that true ?
If true, then are there any chances of Gmate plus supporting 3g in the near future ?

If you didn't buy you GNII already, I'd suggest you to wait for the GT-N7102:
http://translate.google.com/transla...phones/galaxy-note/galaxy-note/GT-N7102RWDCHN
It supports 2 SIMs (regular & Micro) in Dual Standby mode !
Looks like both SIMs are 3G enabled, as it says here: http://whatswithjeff.com/samsung-galaxy-note-2-dual-sim/
Should be available around 12/3 !
Almost perfect
N7102 has no DC HSPA+
Whereas a Gmate & a N7105 would give a remote sim for Tex/calls on gmate & in the phone a 3G DCHSPA+ & if needed 4G
What we need is an LTE N7102 & with google services on it out of the box.

[Q] How does the activation of a motomaker device work?

Do motomaker devices come pre-activated or do I need to activate it when it arrives? If they do come preactivated, does that mean that my current phone will be unusable? The last time I activated a new cell phone was 5.5 years ago in store and I'm assuming that I can activate it online now.

You activate it when you are ready to use it.
New 32gb Dev Edition user here. Do I need to activate any special way to keep my unlimited data? Im scared to do anything that may alter the plan>
You activate it by powering down your current device, inserting the provided nanosim, powering up the Moto X, then follow the directions on the screen. Once done, your old sim card (if you have one) can be thrown away.
I actually powered it up and no real directions were asked? I can go onlime to verzion.com and enter device imei?

Depends on your carrier and your current phone. If you have a nano SIM in your current phone, you can probably just move it to the new phone. If you need a new SIM, you have to get one from your carrier.

Your Rezound probably has a larger SIM than the Moto X. If so, you have to get another one from Verizon. They should do it for free and keep your existing plan. If they are the same size, just try moving it to the new phone.

The TMobile own does as well. They give you a little pamplet telling how to activate. Well I should say for the TMobile version.

I would call the number or bring the phone to a VZW store. Either way, VZW has to activate the SIM you got with the phone.

fastboot oem lock

So I decided to lock the bootloader since I will be traveling, but I thought locking will not wipe the device, is there a bug on NEXUS 6 because I locked it and as soon as I reboot the device it went into erasing the device and started in the welcome screen.
I tried to search the forums and google but all I can find was that the device will not erase anything when you do the fastboot oem lock.

I'm needing some advice. I just bought a nexus 6 and I need help on how I should activating it. I have a micro sim in my current lg g3. I also have a Verizon nano sim and a micro to nano sim adapter. I tried to activate the nano in the galaxy note 2 and HTC onemax both Verizon phones. The vzw rep said that the phones that I was trying to activate the sim on wasn't compatable with the nano sim. I'm afraid if trying to cut the micro sim because in order to cut it to nano size I would have to trim the metal part and that would ruin the sim. What do I need to do. I hope someone can help me.

I've trimmed em before for my friends cricket phone. You get real close to the metal but if it's too tight just trim the other side more. I used really sharp kitchen scissors and it cut like butter. I'm not sure if Verizon will work or not but I know the chip inside is the same.

You can thank the fruit company for starting the small simcards fad. This whale is plenty big enough to fit a regular BFS (Big Fffff'n Sim).
Depending on the contact layout on the existing SIM, it may or may not be possible to trim it down small enough to fit it. I.e., a SIM with 8 contact points cannot be trimmed that far. If it has 6 contact points, it should be possible by trimming it right up to the edge of the pad.

[Q] Can Nexus 6 (that was purchased from Motorola.com) be used on Verizon network?

I'd like to apologize in advance if this or similar question was already asked. I could not find clear answer.
I'm an existing Verizon Wireless customer and I'm about to place an order on Motorola.com website for Nexus 6.
My question(s) are:
1) Will I be able to use my Verizon Wireless SIM card?
I know some folks had issue activating device, but from what I understand if SIM card is already activated that should not be an issue and since I'm existing customer with nano SIM card I think I should be good to go)
2) Is there anything else I need to know before purchasing Nexus 6 from Motorola.com?
perhaps someone who's already using Nexus 6 _AND_ on Verizon network share their experience)

Yes.
Is yours a vzw nano sim? If so, just pop it into the N6. If a micro, just trim it down using a template, or freehand if you are supremely confident. Or you could use a Sim cutter & frame.

Bummer! I got my 64 last week. Activated with a temporary new number at my local vzw store with no problems (in PA). Just switched to my permanent number again with no problems in a store in CA. Each time they used a new Droid Turbo to activate a new SIM (and both were corporate stores)!

I've been using mine on VZW since shortly after thanksgiving, I took the SIM card from my 2013 Dev X and dropped it in the Nx6 and connected to the network without any problems. The only thing to note is that if you look at your account using the MyVerizon website the phone shows up as a "unknown Nexus device" but hopefully VZW will fix that when they begin selling the Nx6.
Cheers
Yes you may use the Nexus 6 purchased from motorola on VZW.

Unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 9 512 GB invalid sim

So I have the Samsung Galaxy Note 9 512 GB, I was having trouble today activating it, but an online rep helped me get the phone working with Sprint. However, the phone will not stay connected to Sprint. When I boot the phone then will work as normal for five minutes but after that, I will get the invalid sim error and all network services will just disconnect. I took the phone to a Sprint store and the rep switched out the sim for a*known working sim, but that didn't work. The rep suggested I call Samsung and get the phone replaced, but before I do that I wanted to know if anyone else is having similar issues.
*
-Thanks,
P.S. I also want to add the when the phone does reboot I'm getting the sim card is locked. Then everything in my OP happens.

-Thanks,
P.S. I also want to add the when the phone does reboot I'm getting the sim card is locked. Then everything in my OP happens.

Did they give you a BYOD SIM? That's what you should have gotten for an unlocked phone.

I'm not too sure, I'm assuming they have some idea what they are doing, however, assuming makes a donkey out of some people. How would I know the difference between a BYOD Sim and the one I have?

You would have had to pay $10 for BYOD. I had sprint send me 2 wrong SIMS for phones and it would say invalid sim. The BYOD also usually comes in a pack with 3 different types. If the SIM they gave you was just a single SIM on a credit card sized card its likely not BYOD. Those sims are for sprint phones BYOD sims are required for unlocked phones. If you went in and said you need a SIM for a Note 9 they may have assumed you had a sprint one.

This is what it looks like of you buy it from best buy. I know it says boost but it's the BYOD for all 3 Sprint carriers (Boost Vigrin and Sprint)

I'm using SIMOLW406TQ.
Sent from my SM-N960U1 using Tapatalk
where did you buy the phone?
The problem is fixed. Went into a Sprint store and got them to pop in a BYOD sim and everything is working.

That's correct. Maybe they were thinking all the Notes are the same. They also did note charge me for the sim since it was such a cluster.
