Using Greenify prevents fingerprint from working? - Galaxy Note5 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello,
I updated my sprint note 5 last night to the latest patch and now FP scanner is not working whenever i use greenify to lock the screen, but works fine if i use the power button. How can fix this so i can use FP with greenify?
Thank you

That is the security policy, I am afraid there is no way to prevent it.

This started happening after the July 1 st update

For me it was happening with June update as well , I use nova D2TS but same thing I can't unlock with help of FP then.

This blows. The new security policy simply sucks. Maybe greenify developer could fix this.
For me it's the July 1st update that caused this.

Security update disabled fingerprint unlock

Hi all. After the 31st October 2016 security update, my fingerprint scanner no longer unlocks my phone. I have reset my fingerprints several times to no avail. Any fix for this?

OK, problem solved. Apparently after the latest update, you are not able to use any 3rd party apps to lock your phone like I am doing. You have to actually use the power button for fingerprint unlock to work.

Lag When I Unlock The Phone

Hello after i updated my phone to oreo it lags sometimes. I assume that it is kind of a Glance problem cause when i turn off glance there is no lag at all(pretty strange i know). I contacted support about this 2 times and they said restart the phone and clear the chace of the app that causes the issue. Neither of them work. Does anyone else facing this issue?

I do not have this problem, everything works well and works noticeably better than the beta

The only lag I have is with the fingerprint senzor. If I doubletap the screen and then I press the fingerprint, it unlocks instantly. If I press the fingerprint with the screen off, it takes a while before the screens turns on (~1.5sec). Maybe this is how it is on the Nokia 8, but on the HTC 10 was lightning fast.
I will reset the phone if the problem presist s i will send the phone to service

Had a 10 as well as don't really notice that much difference. What I will say is that battery performance trounces the 10 so I'd imagine it's pulling the Nokia from deep sleep that causes the minor lag.
always restart wherever it lags. it lags with the amount of oreo update.
Did you tryed a factory reset? I did it and it is more responsive then before. But safe needed data first. Backup before factory reset!

I think it is so the phone isnt getting false attempts to unlock it, only my opinion though, i am not saying that is deffo the reason.
I just have the same problems with my Nokia 8 since 2 days.
Fingerprint or power-button unlock is sometimes painfully slow. Maybe up to 5 seconds.
I have the Android 8.1 Oreo update installed since some months already and also the newest security patch.
I have read, it's a general problem of the 8.1 version, that unlocking gets slowed down.
Anyone has a solution so far? Factory reset doesn't seem to help always (I didnt try), but maybe downgrading to Android 8?
nokia 8 unlock delay fixed

No, this didn't work for me at all.
I think it's related to deep sleep / doze feature. Try to restore factory settings and wipe clean data + cache of the phone and see if it will help. There's so many things that can cause this that we're not able to help any of you.

Thanks, I know, but that also didn't help me. Currently I am following this bug report at Google:
https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/109710373
It seems to be an issue witht he June Android Security Patch... a lot of Pixels are having the same problem.
I don't thinks it's the June 2018 update problem. If u look at the dates on this thread, the problem started after the oreo 8.0 update back in November 2017. Hopefully it'll be fixed in the android 9 update coming soon. I updated straight to 8.1 after unboxing so I don't know if this problem was around during nougat
Same here
I have the same error.

November update AOD issue.

Hello,
So since I installed the November patch few days ago, the AOD stopped working properly. It doesn't recognize any touch and lost the double-tap functionality, except when using the S Pen, then it works like a charm. I have no idea why this is happening but it's frustrating. Anyone else experiencing such issue?

What's your region? Notification popped up today (am in the UK) to update November security patch (see image) but I haven't. Just wondering whether I should cos this seems to be an issue.. especially when software updates start to crash your device ?...or make it "malfunction"

Eastern Europe. And cannot tell you to either do or do not update. The only thing I got form Samsung Support was to do a factory reset which was a ridiculous proposal.

I took the risk, updated today and it's been fine. Really crazy that Samsung suggests a hard reset. Hope u manage to sort it out.

On November security patch(build ARK3) as well on the Exynos, with no such issues.
Erase cache in recovery and re-check, well and good it it fixes, if not do a "reset settings", if still fails, do a "factory data reset" as you have no other option.

Can't adjust volume from lock screen?

I have had this phone for a few days and one thing I can't figure out is why I can't adjust the volume when I'm at the lock screen, I have to unlock the phone to do this. I have never experienced this with any other Android phone. Is there a way to enable this in the settings?
Thanks

Umm did you try the obvious reboot of the phone?
I can adjust volume with screen off, no problem.
Maybe you have some kind of 3rd party app which blocks it?
Or better yet, maybe you have the latest system update?

Such as? I have exactly the same apps as my previous Asus Zenfone 3 and that phone didn't have this problem.

I don't understand what you mean. The latest system update is the problem? I just received this update on Tuesday but the problem was there since I purchased the phone a month ago.

Well, it's a well known fact that updates break stuff for this phone. I myself stay with the January security level and system updates from Nov 2019.
I don't know if any 3rd party app could block the buttons, it was just a thought.
What you could do is factory reset the phone and test. Otherwise - service. Like I said, mine works fine.
