Hello !
I saw on internet that liquid coating for screen protection is getting more and more attention.
Did anyone tested something similar, or "Liquid Armour" protection ?
Thank you!
No one used something similar?

I used it once; Snakeoil. It did nothing.
I understand, it is big fake. Thank you!
I've used it on several of my devices and I can say it actually works. It does wear off though. You have to re-apply every year or so.
It's not snakeoil. These liquid coatings do work. HOWEVER, I can only confirm that the oleophobic coating works though, not sure if it does anything with relating to anti scratch properties
I have installed the wet type screen protector on my S7 edge from Gadgetshieldz. I have been using them for a while, never felt like installed(Invisible). And saves from the key and coins in the pocket.

That's a Film screen protector, that's not what this thread is about, the discussion is about Liquid Screen Protectors. Oh and by the way, Gadgetshieldz is not that good, for the best Film protector, look for IQ Shield or Armorsuit.

Thanks for seeding a knowledge about the liquid protectors and how to get sure about it's placed well?
For me, Gadgethshieldz works better than the IQ shield.
I saw some tests on youtube showing that it doesn´t work, some videos of people telling that it works...
for me it´s like homepathic medicine haha

Except homoeopathic medicine work! Nah, just kidding. Its a bunch of medication for retards.
Anyway, anti-scratch properties can't be proven but anti fingerprint can be tested and proven
It doesnt work though. My screen cracked with it

I have never heard of these brands. They sound cheap. However, "liquid" screen protectors have been the main quality type of protectors for a long time. Yes, tempered glass is the thing now, but when ZAGG started the "liquid" protector application many years ago, that was what I considered the best in the market. There are many brands now. ZAGG doesn't make one for this phone, but IQ Shield is reputable. I have the clear one on my phone and it is perfect.
EDIT: lol! I didn't check the links out. I am dumb. These are actual liquid screen protectors. Wow! Never heard of this, but it sounds interesting. I would like to hear feedback about these.

Yes, I was referring to the actual Liquids and not the liquid-skins.
This is the perfect solution to our curved screen "problem". Waiting for more reviews!

Yup, looks like the future if it actually works as it claims.
This won't prevent your screen from shattering or cracking if it ever falls - this is only good for scratches, but then again so is gorilla glass.
It looks more like a car sealant to me. A car paint sealant is like a wax but don't contain wax and make the paint more scratch resistant and make water beads.
But gorilla glass is already coated (bad tempered glass are not coated and fingers don't glide smoothly).
But on the second link, the titanium product can be interresting for the OP3 aluminum back if you want to use it without protective case.
Looks pretty neat. Available for US$20/20€.
i am holding off until i see some reviews. looks great but also looks like it will not work with cases.
Waiting for reviews...
this product looks EXACTLY THE SAME as the aftermarket ones being sold right now.
also, the "curved" probably refers to the curved edges of the tempered glass itself, NOT to the glass curving to fit the phone's curved screen.

If I stop spending money on extras that do not work or are not 100% optimum I think I could buy another new phone.
Btw a bit expensive, not? I'll wait to see some review.
The OG tempered glass from OP for the OP3 is dog ****.
I am very disappointed as it does not even cover the whole screen!
Well i believe it won't work nicely with the back covers like Spigen Ones.
Waiting for the white version and the Reviews
I've tried screen protectors with edge to edge coverage and they gradually form cracks over time. I've had no such issues with non edge to edge screen protectors, this is pretty unfortunate. I wonder if this would do any better.
I've waited for a proper 3D TGSP and would order this, but waiting for the payday
I'm counting on this official protector.
Wonder if this is like the others which don't have adhesive on the clear part.
I just spoke with oneplus customer support and they said that the screen protector has adhesive on the whole surface of the screen protector. But, I am not 100% confident in their response. Will have to wait and see the reviews

Yeah, I'm not confident either lol. It's a shame it has to be that way.
I currently have a wet-install film on my screen because all the tempered glass options have shoddy reviews. The film went on perfectly and is nearly invisible, but I just don't feel as comfortable with it.

My mistake! Here's what I have:
https://smile.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B01GQWLJRS/ref=ya_aw_oh_bia_dp?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I'm very satisfied with it and don't mind keeping it for awhile until that "perfect" glass protector comes along.
I just received an IQ Shield Matte screen protector and I'm really disappointed. It screws up the colors and whites have a rainbow effect to them. I took it off and now I'm looking for a new one. I'd like one that is:
1. Anti-glare
2. Anti-fingerprint
3. Clear and doesn't screw with this beautiful display.
Any recommendations?
Thanks in advance!
Thee one and only,,,,but more importantly expensive whitestone dome screen protector is probably the most I've heard of working...45 to 50 dollars tho
Any you can recommend about $20 and under?
First I tried the Spigen NeoFlex film screen protectors and they are garbage. Then I ordered a cheapo full cover tempered glass screen protector from eBay and it works great.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/3D-Full-Cov...ector-For-Samsung-Galaxy-Note-8-/332345555824
I've only been using it for about a week so I can't say how well it will keep dust out. Sensitivity is great, I don't notice it's on at all. It's not Anti-glare or Anti-fingerprint but it's only $8.
I'm using the i-blason tempered glass.
Under $20, it's still on, doesn't interfere with the screen.
It's still going to collect fingerprints and smudges due to the oils in our skin, but it wipes off easily.

There are plenty of discussions under the accessories section
But I'd say don't bother. I had one tempered glass protector on for an hour before it annoyed me too much and I removed it! Destroys the feel and use of the phone.
I have been buying the RhinoShield stuff for my stuff and its held up really well for me.
rhinoshield.io is where you'll find it.. (I havn't logged in long enough that I forgot my account info :/ )
edit: found my login info so now I can add the link:
https://rhinoshield.io/collections/samsung-galaxy-note-8
Plus, nobody else's stuff has any evidence that even suggests it actually works.
I havn't tried it for the note8 but I came by this thread while I was researching if anyone had so figure I'd mention it. It is expensive to get the whole kit (screen protector, bumper, and in this case rear glass protector), but I found it worth it..
I have a cheapo '2.5D' glass and its doing well. Touch response is worse mind.
There is a speaker hole at the top; this needs covering with a bit of tape or you wil get dust between the screen and the protector.

I purchased a relatively inexpensive TG protector. While it exhibits many of the drawbacks of TG protectors that aren't full-adhesive (i.e. all of them except the Whitestone Dome), it doesn't have quite the "rainbow effect" that I've seen with other protectors.
Its real downside, though, is its slickness ... I need a more paper-like surface to better control the s-pen. Just the tiniest bit of friction would help. I'm thinking that I may have to go to a film protector rather than TG to get that, though. Does anyone else have this issue with TG protectors?

Ever since the introduction of the edge curved screen (and I have owned the lot) I have never found a decent screen saver. It is a subject on every forum here on XDA and concerning all the Samsung edge models.
I have taken recommendations only to find them useless. Some use a glue, some have a dotted appearance after application some just suck period!
I used a partial screen saver once that just covered the centre of the screen but even that proved awful. Even used Samsungs own on the Note 7 and though that was not glass it also was horrible.
If any peer here does find a working screen protector PLEASE let us know.
Ryland
Whitestone is the best.
I like the Spigen NeoFlex, it's been great so far for me. Went on easily, hasn't peeled off the corners/edge (and I use the Spigen Tough Armor case) and after the 12 hours to settle on the screen it looks great and writing on it with the s-pen feels good too. My personal opinion and the only one I've tried so far on my Note 8

Can the Whiitestone be removed once it's been glued to the Screen?
yes
I got the Bodyguardz glass protector sold to me at the AT&T store (lazy me). The guy installed it and it's ok. Glass protectors have an innate problem in that they sometimes don't transmit touches to the touchscreen itself. This one is no different but it does fit well. And it has a lifetime free replacement policy. I'll keep it to protect my screen.
So I bought a liquid based screen protector from Amazon, applied it and unfortunately I didn't use my phone much, prior to applying but I think it has a weird feeling. It's apparent obviously when I touch as it's sticky but I have a feeling even when looking at it it's got a weird feeling. Anyone else has the same?
Yes, since it's a soft PET it will feel rubbery to a degree.
Some are much better than others. For example, IQ Shield is 100x better than Ringke's Invisible Defender.

Grr it's terrible and driving me nuts. It was a pretty good Ndeipi snug fit as well but naa thinking of taking it off!
Are we talking something like liquid armor? Like spreading a fluid which hardens?
Or a film with liquid install?
Liquid Armor doesn't show at all. I have a ClearPlex liquid application and that does have a soft rubbery feeling but it really isn't too bad. S-Pen feels fine too.

Ah that's too bad. I have the ClearPlex brand one from Best Buy. They install it for you with some type of gel. Takes about 24 hours to completely cure.
To the touch its just like glass IMO. If I try to put my nail on it though, that is when you feel the difference. If I press with sharp objects (which you really shouldnt do) it leaves a print. But like I said, to the touch it feels very normal, and S-Pen works great too.

No, this one is a film.
Liquid ones cannot be removed but they wear out after about a year.
Try this one I have on my phone now the screen feels just like it did and it blocks fingerprints better than before. My glass feels like silk
Guys to he honest the only real need for a screen protector is probably to resale the phone. As I always pass on the phone I don't need anymore to my son, am just going to go naked now. Having used it this way is definitely better than applying anything else on top trust me guys.

I feel the same way. Unfortunately. I am curious about the back though...
Back seems to hold up (maybe non touch sensitive glass is easier to make scratch resistant) the front 2 scratches in the first week... And I used a soft pouch until proper accessories come out.
Got a skin on the back and a crappy plastic screen protector for now.

I do wonder though, if it scratches the olephobic coating or the actual glass is scratched. A colleague of mine has the s7 until last week without a protector and said screen was always perfect. But it got fingerprinty as hell.
Wonder if one of those nano liquid coatings would smooth it out. I have accidental damage insurance so if that works I would rid of the scratches with that.
You might have a point there with the coating. I have noticed that as well on my samsung phones.
I tried that nano liquid, but havent noticed much diferrence though.

I guess I got lucky. I got a case and a tempered glass screen protector for free with my purchase in Taiwan. Finger print scanner works perfect. I should have checked what the brand was. It was a flagship Huawei store, so obviously they knew what they were putting on there.

See...that it why they buy iphone or smsng, cause they dont mess up important stuff... You mean the glass ones? Or the foils?
I am challenging those that think Mate 20 Pro uses Gorilla Glass (I have read the 1 or 2 reviews that state this), and it's not listed in the Gorilla Glass website. Also worried about scratches I reached out to Huawei AU and received the following:
To answer your inquiry, this phone uses aluminosilicate glass for both front and back which is also Scratch resistant and is composed of aluminum, oxygen, silicon, and several other positively charged ions.

I am seeing the above noted comments and "scratch resistant" or not, it's obvious this phone needs a case and screen protector.
I wish it had Gorilla Glass 6!
