Alt. Root method for H811 10N - T-Mobile LG G4

Hey guys, need some serious help. I have been stuck for two days trying to root 10N. It just won't work. I've tried the method detailed here http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/development/h81110n-stock-rooted-image-t3191038.
But it constantly says fail when I try to run the " dd if=/data/media/0/rootedsystem.img bs=8192 seek=65536 count=548352 of=/dev/block/mmcblk0" command.
I've uninstalled ALL Android drivers on my laptop, tried a second laptop, it's just not working. I read that Windows 10 may cause issues. Is there any other way to root? I have searched but mostly come up with threads about the update before or after this one. Thanks for any help!
UPDATE: Still no luck, I have tried a different set of ADB drivers, and that is not working either. For some reason the recovery will not push. I tried manual and with the One Click..

Had success with this method here http://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-g4/general/how-to-unlock-bootloader-flash-twrp-t3344421
UPDATE: Nope.. Brick city.. back to the drawing board.

Use this.

For whatever reason its just not letting me. Thanks for the help though!

Is there a specific reason your sticking to 10N opposed to using a KDZ to update to 20i or 20o? Both of which are fairly easier to unlock, get root, and TWRP due to MM making the phone switch back over to classic Fastboot operations opposed to the LG Send Tool.
If you want to go this route visit this thread. The same steps apply regardless of which KDZ you use. Be it 20i or 20o.

[Q] Simple guide for Upgrading (not rooting) to GB?

Hey there,
I know this is a developers forum which is not intended to cover the very basics. However, I've been searching the internet, and here, to no avail, trying to find a simple guide to how to upgrade my LGP970 to Gingerbread. Having a UK version of the phone, no update has yet come through the LG B2C tool -- this tool also consistently fails to open these days (error message: "Please, check your internet line and execute program again" -- infuriating).
So, I'm not looking to root my phone; I'm not interested (for the time being) in CWM. All I'd like is GB official version on my LGP970. I understand I have to download the .kdz file (I'm guessing Europe Open is my best bet). What I don't know is the appropriate way to use this file to upgrade my phone.
There are lots of guides on here, all seemingly aimed at users wishing to root their phones; I can't find anything for those who just want to upgrade without rooting.
I apologise if this is too much of a n00b thing to be asking about, but any help or direction elsewhere would be very much appreciated. Thank you
Go to my guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1487105
Scroll down to unbricking, and use the R&D method. First download the UPK (link is there as well) then follow the second link to the work around. Set it all up, download your KDZ, I guess europe open will be fine, flash it and be happy ever after

Well, see there's two problems I have with the Support Tool: 1. I often get the error message I mentioned above; 2. My phone is a UK model for which LG still haven't released v20x, so I can't officially go through that app anyway.
What did you mean about 'KDZ_FW_UPD_EN' ?

Unrooting Verizion nexus 6 on 5.1.0 build number LMY47E

I have been rooted for a few months now and need to get a replacement phone from vzw. I have been searching for the better part of 2 days on how to completly unroot my nexus 6. i used the method used in "[HOW-TO] The Nexus 6 All-In-One Beginner's Guide By xBeerdroiDx" to root it. Which installed TWRP, with any other phone ive rooted i could just go to SuperSU and click full unroot and it would do it. That is not the case now. Can i get a step by step directions from someone on how to unroot my phone please.
Thanks in advance.

sure.. get the factory image from the google site, download it to your computer, unzip it, then flash each part of it individually via fastboot while youre in your bootloader. thats the only real way to "unroot" a device.every othet way removes root but keeps the changed files. so they think that youre still rooted.

nope, thats it. but, to finish, you want to make sure that you will boot first, then youll have to relock your bootloader at the very end

if you want the phone clean, you will need to use -w command in fastboot to wipe all the data also.

ive never wiped before flashing a factory image(i assumed it does it automatically before flashing each partition), but that can be a good idea as well :good:

-w only wipes the data partition as far as i know.
i havent dissected the files for this phone, but all past device img's i have, has a wiping command of some sort in there somewhere.
its usually something like "erase userdata" or similar.
the files are .tar and .tgz my computer wont recognize them am i doing something wrong?

you need fastboot(and adb for other things). you can get that from google or you can search google for a smaller download. its in the sdk( i believe), but that download is huge. i installed a fastboot for dummies version a few years back, with adb as well, and ot turned out to be only 35mb.

So here's what I did. (MetroPCS Variant Only) (Remember to backup stuff you want to keep (Duh))

Sure.
(Go to the folder where adb and fastboot are located) (Have the phone in download mode)
Step 1: Move the stock recovery to that folder and name it "srecovery"
Step 2: Hold SHIFT and right click anywhere in the folder and click "Open command window here"
Step 3: When the command window opens up, type in "fastboot flash recovery srecovery.img" and press enter

You do need to download the 2 updates for the 6.0.1 update to show up. Otherwise nothing will happen.

Zvd tot now available

You can downgrade from ZVF and ZVE without getting hard bricked - no worries. (No guarantee for future updates higher than ZVF).
If you use this to upgrade from ZVC or lower, you cannot go back down lower than ZVD or you will get hard bricked.
File works fine in LGUP. Don't ask me how to install or use it - there's plenty of that already on the forums.
Happy flashing!

I have no idea. You'd have to talk to the ROM dev. I doubt it though.
I'm sure a flashable ROM zip could be created, but that would require a custom recovery in order to be installed.
MellowMallow is in TOT form IIRC but the problem is that there's no root method for ZVD

Brother this tot works for the LG G4 LS991ZVE ?? I await your reply thanks
So has anyone actually flashed this TOT to confirm it works? The structure seems different from prior TOTs and the entire extracted TOT (via WindowsLGFirmwareExtract) is smaller than even a compressed version of ZVB's system image. Either this TOT is missing too much critical data to be used for a full restore or it's incompatible with the only decompilation tools I can find. Either way, as it is, it's useless for creating custom (Mellowmallow-style) ROMs.
EDIT: Maybe the tools I was using weren't accounting properly for the different structure. I did a bit of tweaking with LGBinExtract and managed to pull out a full system.img. Still haven't actually flashed the TOT to downgrade my ZVF phone, though.
