Hello,
I knew that if I root my Note5 (N920C) I will lose Knox and Samsung pay.
I've a question, If I revert to the original firmware shall I get back Samsung pay and knox?
generally, If I installed back the original firmware, is everything will back to normal or some issues would happen??
if there are issues after unrooting and installing the stock firmware, please list them all.
thank you for your support.
Samsung pay is gone. Knox will always be 0x1.you will have no deepsleep.

Hi ,
in short , if you flash your latest official stock Rom
You obviously loose root .!
Secondly ,if Knox is tripped it stays like that ., permanently
It's what they called a "e fuse " that was tripped.
(Nothing you do ,can will fix knox ,Only Samsung can and the most probably won't )
Also if you unroot chances are that your phone won't "deep sleep" ?
Samsung Pay ,i don't know.
Good luck
Thank you guys. the stock firmware is pretty good already. there is no good reason for rooting

Been on Xtrestolite for months now and at first it was great, but the battery drains quickly now, can't answer phone calls and fast charging doesn't work (works on other devices).
Basically, I want to use this thread to go back to stock: http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s6/general/stock-firmware-official-stock-firmware-t3086387
The MM update for T-mobile is coming out soon so I am interested in the stock version of that (so my phone calls work).
My question is basically that I updated the modem and the bootloader to the Xrestolite ROM and the ROM thinks my phone is an S6 edge (just a regular S6).
If I use ODIN to flash stock on my device, does it also flash the stock modem and bootloader for my cell phone provider as well? (USA T-Mo.)
Are there any additional steps I need to do to go back to the stock modem/bootloader/anything else? Will I be able to update to MM OTA?

You can restore original firmware using Samsung Kies or Smartswitch.

I plan on using ODIN to flash the original firmware. Does the original firmware include the original bootloader and modem or do I have to do those separately?

The full stock firmware package will have bootloader and modem. It will take you to basically like you just bought it except Knox will stay tripped.

Thanks for the reply! Since knox is tripped, will I be able to do OTA updates or download apps like Samsung Pay or Android Pay? I heard there is a method like using the app called "Triangle Away" to remove the knox tripped counter.

You will be able to get OTA update with tripped knox if fully stock. Samsung Pay will not work if knox is tripped. Android Pay will work if not rooted( it will also work with systemless root and a couple changes to su file but then you are no longer stock and no OTA). There is currently no way of resetting knox short of replacing phone.

I'm going to try to use triangle away as an attempt to reset knox. Should I flash the stock firmware first then try Triangle away or vice-versa?

S6 is not listed as a supported device for triangle away. I would not waste my money trying it. Just flash stock firmware. Only loss is Samsung pay.

That sucks. I really wanted to try it out. MM is coming out for my S6 in my country soon so I'm hoping battery and RAM management is better because recently on my ROM that was oh-so popular drains the hell out of my standby time and I cannot make/answer phone calls at times. At least I can try Android Pay. Thanks for answering my questions.

1)By flashing Volte zip by recovery i.e.TWRP you have surely rooted your device and its obvious that you have tripped knox counter
2)You can unroot your device by flashing stock firmware using odin
3)But for your kind information you have tripped your knox counter once, you can't reset it to normal again by anything even after flashing stock firmware back
4)So samsung pay and s-health will not work on stock rooted devices(Remember i said stock rooted or unrooted firmware)
5)There are many custom nougat roms running S-Health effectively so if you want s-health working you can flash them but not Samsung Pay is still working on custom roms due to kernel limitations

I have stated in my previous post that s-health is working on rooted custom nougat roms and yes i have seen your reference post for working s-health for rooted stock nougat firmware..But what about samsung pay and secure folder? They will probably never work on stock rooted firmware untill custom kernel will come out am i right?

Hey guys,
I rooted my phone but after using the custom ROM I decided to unroot my phone by flashing a stock firmware through Odin. Everything works fine but Samsung health is showing "Because of a new security policy. Samsung Health can't be opened on a rooted device. (0x110040null5c1)"
Please help me to resolve this issue as I want to resell my device now.

That is perfectly normal. As long as you rooted your device before, Samsung will somehow not let you use some of their services and trip Knox, even something that is as stupid as Samsung Health. The only way to fix that is by rooting your phone again, going into build.prop and setting ro.tima=1.

I don't think so, as Odin might replace your build.prop during flashing. And your Knox is forever tripped.

I have same problem with my Samsung galaxy Note 5 (N920C)
I got a N960F/DS (CSC: OXM_MYM). It is Thailand version without Samsung Pay enabled.
Can I flash another country's ROM, certainly under same hardware architecture (N960FXXS2ARK2), without breaking the Knox?
I want to use Samsung Pay at US ...... ......
You can but still you will not get Samsung pay

Hi
I flashed my old S6 with German firmware as I couldn’t wait any longer for O2 U.K. and that was ok but I never used payments on my phone back then... I wonder if it’s the same!?

Did you ever manage to get this to work? I'm in a similar situation.

on the about section in settings, then under status , does the phone still show as "official" ? after you guys successfully flashed other region firmware ? this is a straightforward way to see if the phone is still "knoxed" or not, as i am wondering if the Samsung pay not working is due to georestriction or knox related? Because as i remember with my pre-previous phone the s7e that i rooted, tripped knox resulted in many Samsung apps locked with an original firmware as Samsung health, pass, pay secure folder etc but otherwise still usable.
Just remember that since the S7, once the phone is rooted or knox is triggered there is no way back even if you flash the original firmware and completely unroot it, knox is like an electric fuse and once it is broken there is no way to "unroot" or restore knox to official status except replace the motherboard (until s6 root and knox was software and fixable by flashing original firmware but since s7 knox counter is hardware)
Manage to change region by following this thread.
But I'm not using spay so can't confirm if it will make spay work or not. Knox won't be tripped so nothing to lose if you try it

Hey mate. After unlocking the bootloader and rooting, the fuse on your mobo gets flagged and the KNOX is tripped as 0x1. No way to revert that, as it is a hardware fuse. So, Samsung Pay, Secure folder will no longer work on your mobile, no matter what you do. With right rom and Magisk, you can get SHealth and GooglePay enabled.

Googlepay is working. Samsung is not. Btw thanks for replying bro.

I agree with Jonny908. You will need to buy a new phone, or change the board (resulting in a mismatched IMEI) as there isn't any way to "un-blow" a fuse.
