YouTube playback at 60fps - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

Hello, i have P9plus L09 B161 unrooted and can't play YouTube videos at 60fps (in YouTube app) . I reset app data, uninstall/reinnstall etc and no fix. On Mate7 MM everything is OK. The phone is not in 720p ROG energy saver mode. The fps problem is from the beginning , two months ago. Any ideas or solutions ? Thank you.
Have a nice day !

I have the same issue I posted way back.

Maybe Huawei read this forum and fix the problem.

Ive given them a feedback on day 1 since I got the mobile both on email and official fb page. zero response about the issue.

The August 12 youtube update has finally added 60fps playback

My thread started in august 11 was read and problem solved by Youtube after one day, amazing ! ☺
Thank you XDA and YouTube !

[Q] Video Recording Issue, help?!

Hi,
I'm facing a problem where the Miui camera refuses to save any videos recorded beyond 3 seconds. After completely wiping memory, it works for a few days properly and then the problem resurfaces again. I've done it multiple times and every time it's the same. I've tried both, the developer version as well as the stable version(s) and CM as well, the result is the same. Papercam takes a video just fine but Google Camera, or any other normal Camera app refuses to record any video above 3 seconds. I've attached the logcats for both, a 3 second video and a 10 second video. And this problem is prevalent on both, the front and back cameras. This may not be a mass problem. Would appreciate if a dev guided me in this aspect. Please help?! TIA...
hey man,m also facing same problem. It just freezes while processing it.Its really frustrating as i lost many moments to record during a marvelous trip last month.
can some one here help us out.Is it hardware issue??

Pubg stutters and freezing

hello,
When i play pubg it stutters alot specially when scoping, it always freezes then moves suddenly as if frame dropped or something. Is there a fix? I tried clearing cache to no avail. I’m on 8.2 emui 4gb ram honor play player edition.
It is really annoying as it is unplayable in critical moments! It also happens when someone is shooting at me it freezes and can’t fire back to find myself dead.
It happens on smooth, balanced and hd with any frame rate.

When I got my Honor Play I upgraded to android pie (EMUI 9) and PUBG plays Hdr and ultra frame rates no problem for me. I never played on EMUI 8 but try upgrading if you can.

I found it on by default in game suite.
I don't have any issues with emui 9 neither did I have them on emui 8.2.
In very few case I had lag.
Another this else I noticed when clearing data is it the loading screen goes from HD to SD, it gets pixels red. I have uploaded a video to illustrate. Please someone help me end this stuttering as it is unplayable.

Notice the unreal logo at the left bottom corner its quality decreased after screen shifted
Here is example of what I'm facing

See, it dosent only depend on the device, might be the internet, or the update you are using, try updating it and in graphics settings use "Smooth, Extreme, Anti Alaising Off"
i use gfx tool, may settings is smooth, 60fps, 1280x720, and then remaining is turned off and it is usually 60 fps even anti-alliasing is 2x. now the question is do you guys know an app for fps meter? i tried kfmark but as soon as i remove the connection from my laptop the app stop working although it measures the fps consistently while connected with the laptop or pc

Huawei P30 Pro & Huawei P20 Pro - Sending videos on Facebook Messenger problem

Hello,
I paid 990 euros on this Huawei P30 Pro back in June. I am very very disappointed by this phone. It is an awesome and powerful phone but there are these small things that make me regret buying it.
The biggest and annoying issue is when i send videos on facebook messenger to my friends. Randomly, sometimes, after the video is uploaded and sent to my friend , let's say a 20 seconds video, i can see it and play it totally normal, but the other party( my friend or the people from the group) will see the video as it is 0:01 seconds long and if they press play on the video..the image moves for 1 second, but after this, the image gets stuck and the video continues until it reaches 20 seconds.
Yesterday, a friend with a Huawei P20 Pro sent me a 40 seconds long video and guess what. After 00:33 the image stuck and the audio continued for 7 more seconds.
This is definitely a problem and Huawei should work together with Facebook App developers and fix the issue.
Also, if i uploaded stories on facebook, the resolution is bad. It looks like the videos were recorded using an 6 years old phone.
In this thread you can see more people that are having this issue. FACTORY RESET DOESN'T FIX THE ISSUE !

I am very, very dissapointed by this phone.
I tried clearing the cache of the app, wiping the cache partition, nothing seems to fix the issue.
I complained to Facebook and to Facebook Messenger ( no answer so far), huawei does nothing to fix the issue.
After the software update from August, Wi-Fi Calling is not working on my phone anymore.
So, besides the fact that i don't recommend to anyone to buy this phone, does someone have any ideea how can i fix this issue?
Using messenger lite works totally perfect but Messenger Lite ruins the quality of audio/video of the video clip.

What makes you say that these problem are definitely with Huawei?
Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
Because for the past 1 month i ve been looking on google for this..and the only thread i found with this problem is from Huawei phone owners
Hello,
I managed to fix the issue 1 week ago and i've been testing it since then and all is OK.
What you have to do is download an apk for facebook messenger from JUNE 2019 and all will be OK.
The issue is caused by the App itself and not by the Huawei Phone.
Make sure that after you install messenger version of June 2019 you will select MANUAL UPDATE in the play STORE so the APP won't auto-update.

What day in June is the APK you're using from? There were a few updates in June 2019. Or maybe, can you just tell us specifically what version. For example, June 1st is 216.0.0.20.114 (155388644) . I noticed this problem before June 2019, so do you think something in 1 of the June updates fixed it then a subsequent update broke it? I definitely think it's a Huawei problem because I have no issues with a Samsung s8 and S10.
Thanks
Same problem here

i've tried alot of solutions but it all doesn't work , and my acc works normally on my Redmi note 3 phone << and also my friend why has mi 9 faces the same problem
am on 11.0.3 and still the problem on 11.0.4
thanks <3
same issue on Mi 9 Global variant.. I'm on 11.0.3 and this issue has been coming since last 2 3 months or more
Temporary solution is to manually split your videos using app like Video Splitter for WhatsApp Status (despite the name, it's just generic video splitter, should work with any apps).

60fps youtube video drops to 30fps when switching to fullscreen mode

Hello everyone.
Has anyone encountered this problem?
The phone decides to drop to 30fps when playing a 60fps video on YouTube, but somehow 60fps seems fine on portrait mode. This goes for YouTube Vanced as well. I also noticed Google Chrome has a noticeable stutter when playing videos on fullscreen. I'm running stable MIUI 12.5.1 Global. Never did any major tinkering like unlocking bootloader or rooting; only tinkering I did was debloating apps. I tried rebooting, turning off battery saver, turning off developer options, reinstalling apps, but the problem still persists.
Here's a video for reference.
Any given suggestions are welcome since I can't find any on the interwebs Thanks!

Thank you! I never thought about dc dimming being the cause. I was starting to believe I was the only one who had this problem. Well, no DC dimming for now til Xiaomi fixes this one lol.

Maybe the analog hardware can't support that fast of frame rate... been nice if they had mentioned that limitation
