I just upgraded to EPE3 today, stock/rooted at this point.
When I plug into the fast charger, it does not flash the message at the top "Fast charging". I checked in Battery and it appears to be turned on.
Which of these options do you reckon are the case?
Message no longer displays on MM, but fast charge works. No worries.
Fast charge works on MM and message should display, so maybe there is an issue
Fast charge doesn't work on EPE3
Thoughts?
Shows fast charge on mine. Epe3.
Shows on mine, too. Epe3.
I may need to do a complete wipe. It does not show fast charge, but, it is doing it, as I can tell by the time it takes.

Running stock 5.1.1 on my 64gb. Was curious as when charging, it will say its charged and battery indicator only showing 99%. Does anyone else have this issue? Noob question here just never really noticed this till today
Unplug it from charger, wait a few moments. Then plug into charger. It should reach 100%.
If that doesn't work, try turning the device completely off, plug that sucker in and let it charge up.
I have the note 8 for 1.3 years (battery Has been replaced 2 mount ago).
Few months ago I started to charging the phone with fast charging off and the notification was "cable charging" and on the lock screen "charging: XX%".
But today for the first time, when I plugged in the charger I got message "“slow charging: Make sure charger is properly connected. Use charger that came with the device.”, and the notification was "slow charging". I wanted to make sure I didn't "lost" fast charge so I turned on fast charge, plug in the charger and fast charge was on. now I turn off fast charging, and I get "cable charging". There is any way to control "slow" and "cable" charge with Samsung charger? because I don't think there is a difference between "cable" and "fast" charging.
someone know what can be the reason it happened suddenly?
Try booting your device into Recovery Mode and wiping the Cache Partition. That should resolve your issue.

Cable might have gone bad. That's the only time I ever got that message. I replaced the cable only, now everything is charging properly again.
thanks I'll try if it happen again.
Hi...
For a while now I've had a problem with my Note 9 only displaying that it is regular charging when plugged into my fast charger plug and cable. I tried a numbr of troubleshooting steps from restarting, cleaning the port, trying safe mode, buying replacement fast charger and cable, factory settings, rooting but it still only showed as cable charging so I became convinced it was a physical problem with the port. Wireless fast charging continues to work as it should.
I recently installed AccuBattery and when plugged into my fast charger/cable, the charge current completely fills the the green bar to between 1800-2000 mA so now I'm beginning to wonder whether fast charging is working ok, but the phone is reporting it incorrectly.
Does anyone else know what kind of charge current the Note 9 should have when cable fast charging please? Also, just out of curiosity, what should it be when wirelessly fast charging too please?
Thanks for any help...

I know this is ridiculous question. Did you enable it in battery setting?

I started charging at 25%. With screen on I got 2700mah.
I left my phone off for 15 mins and stayed at that 2700mah average.
When I turned my phone screen on, I had 45% but screen on charge dropped to 1000mah.
If you look at the bottom of my screenshot, it explains why you need to turn your screen off to get accurate fast charge Numbers. Your phone might throttle the screen on charge if a certain criteria is met.
Once again. Did you enable it in the settings?
I am eagerly awaiting your response... [emoji3]

Thanks for the reply.
Hmmm the numbers you get do seem to suggest there is an issue with my phone. The screen off speeds are around the same as screen on.
Samsung quoted about £10,000,000 to repair as it's rooted and they have to replace the entire board to satisfy their warranty terms.
May have a go at replacing the charging port myself.
Thanks again :good:

I don't use fast charging, ever. So that's probably why my port still works. I have gotten so much dirt in it and cleaned it out it isn't even funny. So I'm less 6 to believe that fast charging is what ruins the port not debris.
A lot of people who use fast charging have the same issue as you-,it burns out the port.
Honestly, my advice is to love with fast charging over wireless and not spend a billion dollars replacing the port. Wait until it's time to replace the battery in a year or two and do it then. Fast charging over cable only saves you 30-40 minutes. I can charge and do charge my phone normally and it only takes around an hour and 40 minutes.
I recently updated my phone to CPH2173_11_C.48 (April 2022 Security).
When the phone is on the fast charging shows but the battery % does not increase, in fact the battery drains when used.
The only way I can get it to charge is by first connecting the charger and then turning off the phone. After it starts charging (and the charging % increases), I can then turn the phone on and it charges properly even whilst using the phone to watch videos.
The only thing I have done recently is to update to the latest firmware.
Any ideas what the issue may be?
If you do the above process then unplug and plug straight back in, does the problem replicate?
Does it only happen below or above a certain battery%?
It happens on low and high battery %. If I unplug and then plug straight back the problem replicates
Noticed something a bit weird, I connected the phone to my PC and it is charging slowly (normal charge, not fast charge). When plugged into an outlet, it shows fast charging but the % does not go up (unless the phone is off).
Could this be a software issue with fast charging? Any way to fix other than to try factory reset?

The culprit looks to be fast charge at lower battery %. I can slow charge at lower battery with the phone on and fast charge at higher % ( around70% +). Whilst off, fast charge works at any % battery.
Could this be software or hardware issue. Problem persists even after factory reset.
Umidigi A3 pro. My phone.
History: Worked fine, started shutting down at battery ~85% (also: "Battery Testing" app says "nearly dead"), decided to buy new battery.
While awaiting new battery, charger cable got yanked. Unsure if this is relevant. Charging still worked OK, phone still shut down ~85%.
New battery arrived. Supposedly the same ("Model: A3") Same markings, BUT no date of manufacture, physically slightly wider, still fits.
Fitted new battery. Does not charge when phone switched on (charging light blinks once, when connected, goes out, does not stay on). Charges normally when phone switched off!
Fitted old battery. Charges normally when phone on and when phone off.
What could the problem be?
I wondered whether the old battery could not take as large a charge rate as the new one, perhaps the new one charges when the phone is off because there's less current demand, BUT this seems far fetched.
Any ideas? Any pointers gratefully received!
Well, I ordered a replacement charging port board. Will see and say what that does, if anything, when it comes.
Question: are there more appropriate/busier forums for this sort of thing, here here or elsewhere?
This seems to be a dead forum. Anyway, for the sake of completeness:
New battery, new charging port board,
Charges when swithched off (charging light comes on).
Charges when switched on, but no charging light.
If charging cable unplugged then plugged back in, as in first post, charging light blinks and goes out. Charging continues.
I will see what happens when charging get to 100%, and also take it off charge, see whether it keeps working when charge gets low, then let the battery go flat, then recharge.

Yes, it works as above. Something rather screwy here. The settings -> battery indicator right now says "charging", the detailed info. says "not charging". I think I will have to live with that, it's not that important.
There are many battery status utilities, this is mine: http://www.temblast.com/usbmode.htm

Thank you. Unfortunately I am reluctant to install that, since my device says extra permissions are required, and that it is an old application which might not work. How true that is I don't know.

That's very strange. I'd be interested to know what these "extra permissions" are.
In my AndroidManifest.xml there is not a single permission listed. You can easily verify this.
And I'm not dynamically requesting any either.
Yes, it has a very low minimum SDK specified. That's so that it can run on very old devices.
Well, after trying again, I get "Blocked by Play Protect", and "application did not install" (really helpful message!). Then after another try it did. Poxy computers.
Anyway. Similar findings.
Disconnected: Power=battery, Status=discharging.
Connected: Power=AC, Status=discharging.
After leaving unplugged for battery to reach 78%m reconnecting still shows:
Disconnected: Power=battery, Status=discharging.
Connected: Power=AC, Status=discharging; HOWEVER battery voltage is shown to be increasing, % is also increasing, until 100%.
Again, no charging light seen, although when unplugged then plugged back in the charging light lights very briefly, then goes out as charging contiunues.
Bizarre.
