OK, so the issue at hand is the left 50% of the home touch buttons (home, back, recent tasks, menu) will not work.
Thought it was a dead portion of the screen. However, the same area works on the lock-screen as well as rotated in an app.
What's been tried so far:
Soft reset
Hard reset
LG software update tool on PC (showed current software as up to date)
LG repair tool (downloaded software, installed, same issue)
Build number: LRX22G
Software version: VS9803AA
Software status: official
Not rooted!
Bump.
Also, in landscape mode, the home touch buttons all work when they're flipped to the other side of the screen.

I have the same issue, it is bad digitizer.. The lock screen works because the icons are lager and higher..
Looks like you have to replace your touch screen, not the digitizer.

Hi,
Xperia X1 is three weeks past warranty. Touch screen suddenly stopped working; Display screen still works fine with keyboard in or out. All hardware buttons and keyboard buttons worked, phone worked OK, it was just the touchscreen that was dead. Never had any display problems when sliding keyboard in and out like I have read in here.
HOWEVER...
My mobile Tech Support told me to reset and now all I have is the initial Windows boot screen that says 'Tap the screen to setup...". WTF? Of course when I tap the screen nothing happens.
Is there a key or button combination I can use to invoke the setup routine? Is there anyway to connect it to a PC and control it? Be nice to get the phone back to working, I can live without the touchscreen for now.
There could be an issue of the flex cable being loose. You could try and open your X1 and re-attach the flex cable and hope it solves the issue.
There are some videos out there that shows you how to do it
I just loaded up RealGinger gingerbread Rom on my i9000. Since loading, I have 2 problems:
1. The horizontal calibration seems to be off by 90 degrees. When held vertically, it goes into landscape and vice versa. I have tried running the horizontal calibration tool to no avail.
2. The touch sensitive buttons are not working properly. Specifically, the search and back button do nothing and the home button acts as the 'back' button. Is it possible to edit the functions of these keys?
Thanks.
Recently updated to 6.0.1 on my LG Urbane watch. Everything was working fine for about a day and half. Then I noticed some sort of glitch on my touchscreen. Specifically the middle area. I turned on show touches in developer option and everytime I tried touching the middle, it shows an off touch a bit to the side.
I did a factory reset. Still the same thing happens. It is also affecting some apps. In LG Pulse, I am not even able to press the start button to monitor my heart rate, unless I press it a bunch of time in and around the play button.
I tried to reflash it through adb loader but on the bootloader or recovery screen, the touch screen stopped working. I can not pressed the selection or confirm buttons at the bottom.
Does anyone know any way to fix this? Is it a software issue or is there something wrong with the touch hardware on the watch?
Hello all!
I'm having a strange problem with my Redmi 2 (aka Wingtech WT88047). My bottom buttons stopped working a couple weeks ago. As my phone was rooted, I decided to activate the software keys adding qemu.hw.mainkeys=0 to build.prop and commenting out hard buttons actions, since I prefer them anyway.
After a while, they became unresponsive too. They work again once in a while, but most of the time they don't.
Okay, so what's strange about that? The strange part is that the button bar area IS working while in lock screen and when using fullscreen apps. I even wrote a simple app to test touch points and the entire touch screen area is fine. While in fullscreen mode, I can even swipe the bottom border to bring up buttons or swipe the navbar to activate one handed mode, but the buttons still don't work.
They work fine while on landscape as long as the buttons are located on what would be the top area in portrait mode.
After that, I tried going back to hardware buttons, only to find out with further investigation that they also work only now and then, but not most of the time (like the soft keys).
I rebooted, soft rebooted, removed battery, sim and sd cards, reseted, tried different roms and all to no avail.
I'm currently using LineageOS if it helps.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance
I notice that on landscape mode the top on bottom does not respond to touch. The S-Pen works fine but not finger touch. Just wondering if anyone else have the same issue? I have already removed my tempered glass protection to rule that out and also tried opening in safe mode.
My model number is SM-N960F bought in Australia (Optus).
Update : Factory reset fixed the issue. Looks like a software issue (some app interfering)
Try the touch screen test. This is on S9, should be same on N9

And if there are issues contact Samsung

Thanks. I've tried that already and it works fine but my issue happens only on landscape mode. It is not dead zone as they work with SPen and also works fine on portrait mode (which the test is)
If you reinstall edge touch and make changes that might be the cause of touch not being recognised in landscape. Just select optimised settings to fix.
I have same issue, in landscape, bottom 1.5cm of screen is unresponsive but when i scroll frop up to bottom of screen, it works. Looks like there is some app overdrawing over bottom of screen..
Solved: reboot fixed issue
