Weird Google problem when switching on screen - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

This has just started today. When I switch the screen on after the phones in standby it opens on the Google now screen.
So I one click the power button, the screen goes off, leave it for a bit one click the power button and the screen lights up on Google now rather than my home screen.
Any ideas what I've done to upset it?

No one else having the problem? I find when I close the double dip flip lid it presses the home button rather than shutting off the screen. Amazingly the lid just has to hover above the home button for it to open Google and the screen goes off as and when as I have it on auto timeout.

effective but not elegant solution - talk back
I Mute my n7. Then turn on talk back (settings>accessibility). Took me awhile to figure out how to do the gestures. Two fingers for scrolling (important when you are in the settings menu trying to turn talk back off You can even still use the touch screen while reading without having to worry about touching something accidentally. You just have to hold the page for a moment where you want to click, and then double tap the screen. Same goes for all the buttons you need to press to get into and out of your eBook. It even remembers where you held last so you can just double tap anywhere after the first time. The only things that don't require a hold then double tap are keyboards and keypads.

[Q] Lollipop!

Now I know they disabled taking screen captures with the S pen holding down the button, but when I screen cap using the power and home button, (I can't palm swipe for ****) I get 2 of the same pix. Samsung nor AT&T were now help. Also if you hover the S pen and click the button twice the lil scroll wheel comes up and you can screen cap that way, I just wish it would stop taking the pix twice, It shows up in stock gallery and QuickPix, Help? Please?

This Lollipop thing is like the first iteration of Windows Millenium used to be: a buggy POS.

Does your screen do this when it goes off?

It doesn't do this every time, but quite often and it seems to be random as I can't make it happen by doing one thing in particular. So, I used the phone for whatever, and then put it down, wait for the screen to go off and then in between the screen powering off and the always on display coming on, I get what you see in the photo below, and also in the bottom left corner in tiny writing, it says something about screen powering down and then something else that flashes on too quickly to read.
What do you reckon? Thanks.
Apologies for the screen protector, not got round to fitting the Whitestone dome yet.
I tend to get that whenever I open the keyboard for the first time after opening an app like WhatsApp or Snapchat. I don't get it when turning off.
I also get it when I press the middle button to go home from within an app.
But then again, I also have the taskbar to swipe up whenever I need it, so I'm not sure if this is relevant to me.
I.e I don't have the taskbar set to be static

Note 9 with Pie - pocket dialing? Solved

I have an issue where when I have texted someone and then close the case and press power button to turn off the screen, the phone then make a call to the person.
There must be a setting somewhere but it is eluding me. Anyone experienced this?

When closing the case. Don't press power button, doing that will wake screen back up and do touching on the screen. So when you are closing the case if you got a flip cover the screen will automatically turn off and remain off until you press power button or open the cover.

My case cover does not turn off the screen.
Which cover are you using? Is it Samsung's own cover or not?

I had an issue with this for a bit. I think it had to do with my cracked screen protector right on the call button in messages and me bearly touching the screen as I turned the phone off. I turned off increased touch sensitivity and it went away though.
Go to settings and type in direct call. There is an advanced setting that needs to be turned off. Was having the same issue until I turned it off. Apparently my pocket looks like my ear.
searching in system for accidental touch might also be a solution.
If you follow the link I gave in the first post, I found the answer.

Screen sensitivity while charging

So I'm just curious if anyone else has this issue... I've had my ROG Phone 2 for almost a year now and I'm pretty sure I've always had this weird issue, it's really not that bad though, mostly just annoying sometimes.
Whenever my phone is charging, the touchscreen gets super sensitive. While charging, just about every time I go to hit the home button, it will trigger the home button multiple times within like a quarter of a second, like I tapped it crazy super fast a bunch of times or something, even though I didn't. I can also barely hover my finger above the home button on the screen and it will do the same thing sometimes while charging. I have to quickly and firmly press the home button to avoid this most of the time while charging. It's not consistent though, it doesn't happen every single time I go to press the home button (it also does the same with the back button), but it does happen a lot, and only when charging.
