Accessing "UE Settings and Info" menu on Marshmallow - T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there, I'm attempting to do this fix,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-3-tmobile/help/lollipop-gps-issue-solution-t3059590
However, I'm on Marshmallow 6.0.1 so I can't access those menus with that method, it seems locked out. Any ideas how to do this on the latest firmware?
Thank you for reading
Edit: If it matters, I'm on the original N910T model.

Try googling USSD codes for your phone.

I have tried that, unfortunately the answers don't seem to work on my phone, I can get to many menus, but the one to access what I need seems to be blocked and the codes bounce me back to the main service menu.
Thinking maybe the codes may have changed with the Marshmallow firmware.

[Q] Z3 Compact (Hotspot Not Working after Lolipop) UK

After updating to Lolipop on the Z3 Compact the mobile internet works on the phone (THREE Network) but when I try the teathering / hotspot it doesn't work, No point trying to contact THREE as all they say is they don't allow teathering on Pay as You Go even tho I've been teathering for years without issue till this **bleep** Lolipop came along!!!
Any one found a cure for this?

Haven't tried a factory reset, Is there any reason why this could be happening? Is the network able to block hotspot on lollipop or something?
Have seen others saying they are having a similar problem, here for example talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z3-Z3-Dual/Tethering-hotspot-problem-with-Z3-after-Lollipop-update-23-1-A-0/td-p/955798
I tried the sim in a iPhone and the hotspot works perfectly, it's got to be something to do with lollipop.

1) Lollipop is a major release and a factory reset is highly recommended.
Many people have had issues with this upgrade and most of them solved with a factory reset.
I know it's annoying but just give it a try.
2) Your firmware is still branded (O2) and since you are on another network, I suggest you flash the UK unbranded (1288-4954)
You can install the KitKat version from here (23.0.1.A.5.77): http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3-compact/general/list-stock-firmwares-d5803-d5833-t2906706
and test the tethering.
Then, when asked, update to Lollipop and see if it works.
Don't worry, you don't lose the warranty and if you need, you can revert to 02 branded through a tool named Xperifirm :good:

Check it better, I made a tutor for beginners...
Before flashing, save everything from the phone because internal memory and user data will be wiped...
All sorted now, Its back on Kit Kat 4.4.4 and i couldn't be happier! Teathering on THREE now works once again

Notification can be hidden from settings>apps>all>update center (my settings are in Italian, I don't know how they're named in English, but they should sound something like that) and just uncheck "show notification" (or something like that) and enjoy your kitkat.
Anyway if I were you, I would try to update to lollipop now and see if it's lollipop the real problem with tethering. You can always flash kitkat again and again and again... now you know how to.
WiFi hotspot fix
Going back to the OP's original tethering problem, the fix is here (requires ADB):
http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/general/lollipop-tethering-t3058923
I had the same issue myself on 3 UK, the fix resolved it 100%.
Perhaps this should be one for the FAQ?

Yes, I could add this (actually I have already a couple of things to add)
But before I want to understand if with the new UK unbranded lollipop the problem is still there :silly: because with the unbranded kitkat it's all working...

I'd hate to factory-reset my phone only to find this problem didn't get fixed by the act, and I'd have to slog through the entire set-up again. No, I think this is a 5.1.1 specific problem that Sony needs to address because prior to this FW everything was fine. So for now, I'll keep my fingers crossed and hope Sony will come through. If not, well, can't really do anything except roll back to 4.4.4.

Firmware version blank/baseband blank/Imei null

I am lost. I have been reading through hours of material and am still not sure what to do. I purchased my att samsung galaxy note 3 n900a from a friend and it seems it use to be rooted. It has a custom recovery. I was able to verify the imei is good with att but had to use a program to locate it. My baseband is blank. It shows I have android 5.0 and that build is lrx21v. N900aucueoc2 4335446. But when I run a firmware test to see what I need to download (if that's even what I should be doing) it shows my phone is n900aucubmi9 android 4.3. My kernel shows 3.4.0-4335446. I'm not sure where to start for all the issues the phone has and I'm not sure I should download the 4.3 firmware when it's currently on 5.0. Please help.

Not sure what it takes to get someone to reply on this but ok..... i was able to get a sim card and put service on it and it has made the phone work every now and then. It keeps slipping back into no mobile network and stops working though. I have updated the apn settings to the correct options. Still when it turns the network off it goes back to no baseband showing, no imei, tells me to insert sim. I'm wondering if it has something to do with the custom recovery that I have on it. I'm honestly not sure CAUSE IM NOT ABLE TO GET ANY FEEDBACK.

I am no expert on this, and cannot offer much advice for it may violate the terms of this site. BUT, it sounds like you have a corrupt EFS partition, which is where the IMEI is stored. It is possible to set it right, but for that, you have to do your own research. Searching these forums for threads related to fixing EFS should be a good place to start.
Please note that I do not know if this is the case with your device. Its just where I would start my search. Good luck!

Unable to update/ find firmware for Samsung galaxy s4 active-i537.

problem is with a samsung galaxy s4 active -i537 which is from the ATT network and unlocked. I bought it from ebay and it says it was "ATT unlocked" having received the device; it was running android 4.4.2, everything was working fine. i wanted to update to lollipop and went over to settings> about phone> software update > check update. bam! says,"your phone is up-to-date." I know it wasn't as it was able to update to lollipop.
moreover, I went on the web and began searching. I was able to come across xda forum which guided me with the OTA files to update to lollipop. I followed through and everything went well. however, upon using the device I realized several bugs. one of which is the annoying one; not seeing the option or menu to toggle between 2g, 3g or 4g etc. I have searched longed and hard to find "android lollipop 5.0.1 firmware" so that I can flash the device via odin to fix the issue. the thing is; i am unable to find the firmware. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could direct me to a site where i can get pure stock rom of android 5.0.1 for sgh s4 active-i537. NB: i do not want the OTA file. I need the full firmware.
any answers regarding this thread please email me at [email protected].

AT&T doesn't release the update Odin firmware files for their devices. Seriously ask anyone with an AT&T-specific Samsung device how literally impossible it is to find updated firmware files. That said, what can I get you, the OTA file for 5.0.1 (yes I read your post, read mine), stock firmware file for 4.4.2, or rooted stock 5.0.1 flashable zip? Your options are limited thanks to AT&T

G920A Combination File to Recover IMEI?

Hi all,
I live in Australia. The battery on my S6 was replaced recently. Now the IMEI number shows with around 10 "0's" in the middle of it, and it can't connect to a network.
Apparently, according to this thread, I must flash the combination file, then flash the stock firmware, to retrieve the IMEI number in the phone and fix the issue.
However, the stock firmware has to be the same or earlier than the combination file, otherwise the device is bricked. I am yet to find a combination file that matches a stock firmware so I can actually do this.
Has anyone got a recent-ish combination file for the G920A? And if so, it would be great if I could have it, as long as I end up finding a matching stock firmware for it.

What baseband version does the device currently have? (if you don't know, it usually looks like G920AUXXXXXXX)
Don't worry, I paid $10 for the file on a website, tried it, but it didn't resolve my problem. The next solution may have worked, but it required root, which I was unable to do with my ATT Galaxy S6 locked bootloader.
Sold it though as a 'wifi-only' device.

MOTO G6 - IMEI 'Unknown', Baseband 'Unknown' - NEED HELP PLEASE!

Hello everyone, I am new to all of this development stuff for Android devices and I know I screwed something up big time.
I had an update recently on my Moto G6 XT1925-6 phone to Pie and there were several bugs happening from calls dropping, data and service dropping erratically, youtube videos would skip forward several times or not download at all. I found the post on here to downgrade from Pie to Oreo Stock ROM and followed it exactly as I could. Everything went according to the guide, but now after rebooting the phone and going through the setup, the phone wont detect my SIM, and there is no service. Under the IMEI Information, everything is 'Unknown' and under SIM status everything says 'Not Available'. Also, under Mobile Network, Data Roaming, Preferred network type, and System select is greyed out. CDMA subscription is the only thing available to tap. The issue with that is, this phone is originally GSM.
Please, I am not knowledgeable in messing with Android systems and I know I shouldn't be messing with something I know nothing about. I do have ADB Minimum installed on my PC, the phone is unlocked bootloader but is currently not rooted after the stock ROM was flashed.
Stock ROM: ALI_RETAIL_8.0.0_OPSS27.104-92-4-5-1_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml
One more thing to add, I did the fastboot IMEI check command and it came back with one IMEI so it is still present in the phone somewhere.
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

First, thank you for your reply and help in this matter!
After the update from the phone itself, it said it was Android Pie v9.0.0. I don't know anything further than that on which version of Pie if there are several.
When I attempted to flash the bootloader and the gpt.bin during the steps on the forum guide, adb gave me the 'couldn't open' and the 'Failed' result for those two things. Reading one of the replies to this guide, someone stated that they didn't flash either of those and it worked perfectly.

I have successfully downgraded from Pie PPSS29.55-24-2 to Oreo without flashing those files but today when I flashed the newest Pie PPS29.118-11-1, I got these results.
Only solution was to reflash the latest Pie. If you took the OTA update as it appears you did you are most likely in the same boat I'm in stuck on the latest Pie.

Okay, thank you for the information. Unfortunately I will have to reupdate to P.O.S. Pie. Could you point me to the correct version of Pie that will work? It was the OTA update to PIE that I did so if you could let me know which one you labeled would work, then I can get started. Maybe point me to a guide if you know of one to do it properly.
Thanks a million!

I can't tell you exactly which firmware to download, but It looks like you are using the Retail version by your post mentioning "Stock ROM: ALI_RETAIL_8.0.0_OPSS27.104-92-4-5-1_cid50_subsidy-DEFAULT_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml". If so I would flash this one.
As for a guide some people use RSD lite but I prefer this method.
download the attachment and extract it
extract the firmware to the folder Place_Extracted_Firmware_Here.
double click 2-rsd-flash-flashfile-windows.bat, this will create a file called flashfile.bat (It will Wipe your data).
boot your phone to bootloader, connect it to pc.
double click the flashfile.bat and let it run
reboot
hope this helps
