Nexus 6 Random Bootanimation on Franco Kernel - Nexus 6 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey.
I flashed Franco Kernel and rooted my Nexus 6 two days ago. Everything worked fine and flawlessly. But today it started freezing for about 2 or 3 secounds and then just behaving normally.
I also have another Problem: Sometimes it just shows the boot animation and then goes to the lockscreen but the uptime in the systemstats does not reset and the phone does not really reboot or shut off.
Does anybody know the Problem or how to fix it? I am running stock Android with just FK Updater and SetCPU (unused, just installed) using Root.

it's called soft-reboot, check your logcat, and you'll find a fatal exception in the Main thread. It happened to me when I tried to use Battery saving location in my rom (it needed a KitKat trick to fic it, btw).

[Q] Note 4 Lag and Fingerprint not working - tried everything

Hi everyone, OK I've tried everything in other threads, here's the situation:
Note 4 Sprint
cf-auto-root worked fine, everything working well for a week (stock recovery, stock ROM, just root). Then installed xposed (accidentally used the experimental 2.7 version) and RootCloak module. This threw me into a boot loop.
I recovered from it by redoing cf-auto-root/odin. That got me out of the loop, but-
Ever since then:
- Phone lags for a few seconds every few seconds - making it hard to even type in a phone number, let alone watch a video,
- Fingerprint doesn't work - when launching the menu from settings I get an error that it's unavailable.
I've tried everything in the other threads:
- build.prop change (disabling securestorage)
- successfully installed 2.6 xposed and tried:
- wanam xposed to disable securestorage
- and the xsecurestorage module
- flashed stock rom from sammobile with odin
- even tried disabling selinux with wanam
No matter what, these same issues. I haven't tried anything other than the stock rom. Any ideas at all? Is there a different ROM out there I should try? Does that even have a chance of working?
I'm not sure I understand why flashing stock didn't fix it - even though it caused me to lose root...
Right now I have TWRP with root and stock ROM.
Any ideas or suggestions really appreciated.. I'm out of ideas. Thanks
I have the Same Problem
I had the same problem, haven't bothered installing it again since, don't suppose anyone has heard from the developers?
Hope maybe the devs can shed some light here. Is there anything else I can do? Flashing stock didn't even help. What's left?
So after not touching anything for about a week - things started running smoothly. Very odd - didn't change anything. Xposed was uninstalled for that time.
But, after SuperSU updated (and updated the binary/rebooted), the lag came back. So, this is telling me this may be related to root/SuperSU instead.

[Q] Problem with xposed on stock 5.0 lollipop, nexus 5

I have a strange problem on my phone. Normally it works fine, but when I ever do a reboot, my phone becomes really unstable. It used to just reboot after installing or removing an app, but now it reboots imediately after "Android is upgrading...". I have to remove Cache and Dalvik cache with TWRP (and wait half an hour for all my apps to be upgraded after the boot) to make it work again, only to watch it grow slower over time due to (I think) the memory leak bug. Does anyone have an idea? The problem occured when I installed xposed and a few modules, it could be the problem lies in one of those, but i'm not sure. Is there a way to create something like a logcat when booting, so the problem will become visible?
Ah nevermind, I only made the problem worse. I thougt it would be a good idea to dirty flash a new kernel onto it... Wasn't a good idea. At boot I get this sorta errors E/SchedPolicy( 184): add_tid_to_cgroup failed: policy=1 and when I'm booted up everything closes all the time... Gonna be searching for a solution...
EDIT: Lol I flashed the kernel for 5.1, I'm running 5.0... (facepalm)

[Q] Battery Drain After Installing xposed

Hi i'm a noob (ex-apple fanboy) i just got my first android device 2 weeks ago and cuz i wanted to run obb files for games on my external sd i rooted my device.then i flashed xposed to my phone using twrm recovery and installed xposed and the obb to sd module. Finally got it to work after much frustration until something strange happened.I went to sleep with my device at about 50 or 60% battery level and when i woke up my phone was dead.I was shocked.anyways luckily i did a backup before flashing xposed and am now currently restoring the backup.Cn xposed be the culprit here? this has never happened until i flashed xposed.I also noticed that my battery was really going down fast and when i checked power settings android system was using up 100% battery .Sense home too was using up a lot and ive never seen this happen before until now. Please advice me.I use an unlocked HTC One M8 with a Stock rom and TWRM recovery on lollipop 5.0.1

i'll try to flash xposed to my phone again and not install the obb on sd module maybe its the culprit.i wish someone would advise me tho
There shouldn't be any batt drain due to Xposed. DO CLEANUP and CLEAR your Download/Photos/Pictures folder.. Any sideloaded apk from 3rd websites do WAKE Play services + Play store and they'll start upload the apk for verification without your knowledge..

Problems with my Note 5

Hi guys,
I rooted + installed Xposed on my Note 5 a couple months back and it's been working fine until today when a couple calls dropped out randomly. It then gave me an error saying "Unfortunately the process com.android.phone has stopped" and it also said something like "Messages has stopped". I lost reception, and when I tried to open my Messages app it crashed straight away.
I restarted about 10 times, and did a factory reset through recovery mode (twice) and still had the same issue.
I then tried to install Dr Ketan ROM using the instructions in this post. I followed the instructions perfectly but I keep getting a "KERNEL IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING" error and it gets stuck at that screen and won't boot. I've left it for up to 30mins and still no luck. I've done a factory reset a few times and tried installing Dr Ketan ROM twice now. I'm using the 920i kernel so shouldn't be an issue.
I don't really care about root and custom ROM (I'd actually prefer to stay away) so I might try flash a stock ROM. Any other thoughts/advice/tips? Anyone know why I had the first issue, or why I'm having the issue not being able to boot?
I'm on my phone 24/7 for work so need it fixed ASAP!!
Cheers

hi,
Firstly, I must say my Note5 is not rooted, stock Rom.
Marshmallow.
Secondly, when reading your post above it reminded me
of similar issues i had in past with my old Note 3, /Note4
I also had "this stopping and that stopping"
(Similar as you.)
Found the culprit to be Xposed Framework.
As well as some modules you used/install
in Xposed.
After uninstalling Xposed and modules, factory
resetting (just like you) etc i still had issues.
Flashed stock Rom afterwards and eventually
managed to sort issues out.
( I had to flashed stock Rom, maybe about 2 or 3 times thereafter then only was it fixed. .)
So for me it sounds like, Xposed /module being
the culprit /suspect ?
I also recommend flash, your correct latest
stock Rom (make sure its the latest and correct Rom)
Good luck
Post note
what i am also saying that Xposed /module most probably "broke"replaced........" something" system framework ?
Also i used Xposed for a long time, then suddenly had issues.

Can't reboot without Wiping Dalvik

Hello again XDA!
So this has become much more frustrating that I thought it would. My phone normally operates fine, just a couple minor software issues here and there, latest issue being my alarm not going off, tried disabling amplify in xposed as the issue only occurs if the phone has been idle for the night, figured maybe amplify might be blocking the wakelock or something. Just thought I'd share in case the module could be the root cause of both issues.
The issue I'd really like to ask about has to do with booting. As I said, the phone generally runs fine, but any time I reboot(or my phone dies) I have to wipe the dalvik in TWRP or else android just hangs on bootup indefinitely. Not only is this always a slow process(generally 15 mins of downtime) but it drains about 30% battery in the process. Just wondering if anyone has had this issue and fixed it without wiping and reinstalling a rom from the ground up.
Currently running latest ICE Lollipop build 7.1.3, elementalX 22.4-sense kernel, and latest firmware, 4.19 I believe. Xposed running with just a handful of modules (greenify, snapprefs, xblast, youtube adaway, sense toolbox). I have tried using stock kernel and uninstalling xposed framework and apk to no avail. What does work is a clean install of the same rom with the same basic setup, but I didn't want to have to reconfigure everything if I didn't have to, so I restored my backup in the meantime.
I can't get a logcat ATM, maybe tomorrow after work if I have some time. I'm also not 100% sure how to grab one anymore since its been years since I last posted one, but would be happy to provide one soon.
cheers!
