Installed Froyo 2.2 (updated through Samsung Kies), then installed OCLF Oneclicklagfix and rooted succesfully.
If I understood it correctly, when a new android firmware is available through Kies, I will not be able to get the new firmware, because I unofficialy rooted the phone. Therefor, I would like to know; how can I get the phone back to the original state (before I installed lagfixes and rooted the phone)?
Is a factory reset with the three key combination sufficient enough?
DISABLE THE LAGFIX FIRST.
Download the Firmware from samfirmware.com and use a flash with Repartition. I recommend you to flash your stock version and then use Kies to update.
If you want to restore to factory settings, you may do so after flashing the new firmware by going to the Recovery Menu and Wiping Data/Factory Reset.
Hello everyone.
I'm kinda new to this forum so hello everyone. Ok.. yesterday i flash my galaxy s with Darky's Resurrection Edition v9.2 through odin. everything goes well, no worries.
But.. i wnt to know how can i go back to my original firmware which is 2.2 froyo. i download my orginal firmware file and i knw how to flash..
bt i have some questions..
1. do i need to wipe data/factory reset & wipe cache partition like before install darky's rom?
2. Do i need to tick re-partition button coz i have only one file?
hope someone help me
Thanks.
It is a good idea to clean your data partition, so you get a clean fresh install. What may happen if you don't do it is that you will keep any settings and apps from Darky's ROM, which can probably fail with the stock ROM.
Repartition is not always necessary. You should check if the previous pit file is compatible with the ROM you're trying to flash. Most ROMS uses 512.pit, so If you've flashed Darky's with 512.pit and the new ROM also requires 512.pit, then no need to repartition.
Problems after bad flash custom rom etc I always flash stock Eclair pit 512 and repartition checked then flash stock Froyo or update via Kies .
Stock is not your original firmware its the firmware provided by Samsung to the network phone provider before they customize it or not .
But if you followed instructions and saved your original firmware you just flash that back .

Thanks a lot guys..
i have rooted my galaxy s through odin and i am using darky's rom 10.2, now i have to factory reset my galaxy s, so i wanted to ask that whether is it safe to factory reset my galaxy s from the privacy menu or not???
please help
Factory Reset darky's rom
You can reset darky's rom from the privacy menu....it will reset settings and data, but you will still be using the darky's rom!!!
Please specify: Do you want to go back to the original/stock firmware, or you want to just delete data for performance?
revert back to original
could you please help i am currently using darkyrom jvq v10.2.2 and kernel version 2.6.35.7-I9000xxjvq-cl281085 [email protected]#darkcore_2.9.3_jvq and fermware version 2.3.4 and would like to revert back to original/stock firmware.
thanks
Download stock 2.3.3 firmware from http://www.sammobile.com/firmware/?page=3&t=1&o=1&m=GT-I9000&r=1#regiona ...
It's original stock firmware and flash it with odin 1.3 or whatever. It will reset everything to stock.
Going back to stock
I use this topic to go back to stock from any custom rom....
I prefer using 2.3.5....

Hello,
i'm french and i'm on stock ICS 4.0.4 germany so there is just DBT CSC on the rom. I read some information about CSC and i would like to inject french CSC on the last rom UK.
I find how to read CSC folder on the rom and i compare with rom with xef, there is just more folder but i don't know how to inject the code and compile the rom to be safe.
Could everyone help me
thanks by advance and sorry for my bad english.
Instructions on how to change CSC
Hi mate
That rom your using has the 'Multi CSC' or should have as I used it last week to check for the 'XEU' setting.
Anyway..here is instruction copied from another thread for you.
It is possible, but you would need to be on a rom that supports multi CSC's. (I believe stock doesn't support it.)
1) Find the IMEI# of your Galaxy Note. Just go to Settings –> About phone –> Status and look for the IMEI# number and note it down.
2) Type *#272*Device IMEI# in the dial pad of your device.
Example (*#272*xxxxxxxxxxxxxx#)
3) Now select the desired CSC. (Changing your CSC will completely wipe your phone)
4) Your device will automatically reboot afterwards.
5) After that connect your device to Kies and should say a firmware update is available.
I find that when you do the following, the CSC may be the same as it was before you changed it, so
Reboot into CWM recovery and wipe cache partition & clear dalvik and REBOOT
Check CSC again and it will be as you wanted it !!
:good::good:
There's a couple of files if you need them - Multi CSC from 4.0.3 / 4.0.4
You use the files via ODIN on your PC, when opened up choose the 'PDA' box and flash
Or you can use 'Mobile Odin' app on your phone to flash the Multi CSC file
thanks, i try this.
Erm, Whoah
Didn't you say you were on Stock ICS? Your phone will perform a full wipe and thus possibly become a brick.. (I have not tried but any FULL WIPE in ICS STOCK is dangerous,,)
I think brick with full wipe with custom kernel.

No, Full Wipe / Factory Reset with STOCK ICS Kernel..
Most ICS Custom Kernels and others now have the command triggering the bug removed, however, for the safest way I only wipe / reset in GB..
---------
Reinbeau asked me to summarize the situation with ICS leaks in a way that can be stickied, so here it is:
DO NOT FLASH OR WIPE USING ANY ICS REPACK OR STOCK KERNEL
Not even wiping in stock recovery is safe with affected kernels. Almost all ICS kernels for the GT-N7000 are affected. Only two are currently known to be safe - see the list below.

The only way to safely be on a desired CSC is to revert back to GB, set the CSC thru the *#272* code method, then factory reset, then flash ICS stock for your region.
I used this method on advice of dr. Ketan. Be sure to use a stock ICS with built in multi CSC

I made a mistake yes.
Full wipe only with franco or abyss ok.
But in this case the wipe is made because of changing the csc. It's not the same thing i think.
No ICS 4.0.4 for france now. An other way is to flash french ics LQ3 and update to XLR.
Its the kernel doing the wiping, different trigger but still wiping best not risk it

Ok thanks i understand much.
I have an n920i that ive wiped with twrp and can't install any custom firmware on. I need to reflash to stock with odin, but the only firmware I have is for an n920c. Can I flash the n920c firmware on the n920i safely?
