This issue isn't just specific to the Note 7 I had the same issue with the Note 5.
On certain calls all of a sudden I can't hear anything. To get the call back if I hit hold then resume/unhold the audio comes back.
I have easy mute disabled but I don't think that's the issue.
This happen with a Bluetooth headset, wired headset or just using it with a headset.
Anyone else experience this?

I had the same issue with other Win mobiles too. Maybe some issue with the windows to bluetooth?
I suspect so, but no one else has mentioned it in other posts
can anyone shed some light?
I don't have this issue at all, I am using Sony Stereo headsets right now.
The biggest issue for me right now is...after I finished using bluetooth, the phone will be muted until I soft reset. And this is relaly annoying!

No problems here pairing it with my car. Maybe a soft-reset can help?
Yea I'm having this issue with the Motorola i710 headset....only mine disconnects after about 4 minutes into a call....same other issues
I'm having problems too with Bluetooth headset/hands free... I'm using Dell BH200 headset which does stero wireless and hand free calling... When I dial numbers I can hear throught the headset, music plays fine through the headset, however it seems as soon as the phone connects/it goes into sleep it drops the headset and the small ear speaker in the handset works... Its annoying... I'm going to test with platronics hands free tomorrow...
Also, when I make a call, like a few seconds after it connects the phone's screen turns off... I thought it was only supposed to do this when you bring it up to your ear i.e. when light sensor in the ear speaker detects little light..?

I think I solved the problem with muting the phone after using bluetooth: using TF3d configuration tool I disabled the music tab. Now i use wm player for music and, during 1 day ,I had no problem - my phone is not going to mute anymore. Please try this method and post here the result. A lot of Diamond users have this problem and is few topics o the forum related to this.
Only the bottom speaker works after I have a call. Don't know why this is, ma the its to protect the ear. I was listening to music on my phone both speakers working, had a phone call then afternoon phone call only the bottom speaker works. I'm having to reset my phone to get both speakers working.
Anyone else noticed this?
Thanks

My phone earpiece speaker has been intermittently failing to work. This only occurs during phone calls, regardless of who initiated the call. This seems to be related to the use of Bluetooth devices, but it is inconsistent. I use a Jawbone Icon, Air-Fi Metro, Coolstream, Huawei watch, Pebble Steel, and my car.
Occasionally I also use a wired headset that ultimately seems to fix the problem, but again, inconsistently.
I have factory reset the phone multiple times, it does not fix the problem.
Has anyone else experienced this, searches have not turned anything up?

Does anyone has issues using a headset to take calls? I bought a OnePlus 3T last week and while I like the phone, not being able to reliably use headset for calling is a no-go. Here is what's happening...
I have a Panasonic ErgoFit Headphone with Mic/Controller which used to work flawlessly with my Nexus 5 and my wife's HTC One. On my brand new Oneplus 3T, the inline microphone cuts out in the middle of the call.
There are a couple of ways to this happens:
At any random moment during a long running call (more than 2-3 mins), the inline mic will stop working and the person on the other side can't hear anything
If during a call, I switch from the call-screen to another app and come back to the call screen, the mic stops working.
I can usually get the inline-mic working again by trying either one of these, but if that fails I have to stop using the headset:
Toggle the phone speaker on/off
Unplug and re-plug the headset
I like the phone, but reliable calling is must, I attend several long-running conference calls every week and it's quite frustrating when people think you've dropped off. I spoke to support and they told me I should use the official OnePlus headset and that's just not right.
Has anyone faced this issue or know of a fix? I have also documented this on OnePlus forums at https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/inline-microphone-not-working.475852/#post-15460410
Thanks.
Hi,
I have the same issue. did you manage to fix it?
I just upgraded from a Pixel 5a to a Pixel 7 and I did not have this issue.
In short, when I have bluetooth earbuds connected to my Pixel 7 and I receive a phone call, I hear the phone ringtone through my BT earbuds as expected. However, the phone itself also rings audibly.
This is not the behavior from basically every other single Android phone I've ever owned.
Just to ensure it's not my particular earbuds causing the issue, I've tested it with my Bose QC Earbuds II and my Samsung Galaxy Buds+. Phone rings audibly when either of these are connected to my Pixel 7.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there a fix?
If you want to help test this for me, you can go to RingCentral and they have a site where you can have them call you as a test.
https://service.ringcentral.com/ringme/ringme.asp?uc=B9E595D4CC59393E1039BA5E165A817C57713679302020,0,,1,0&s=no&v=2&s_=1210
I can confirm this issue. I use the Pixel with the Buts Pro and the Phone rings during incoming calls. I tested the Buds on my old Phone and it works well. My normal config on the old Phone was the vibration mode and than during incoming calls ony the Buds ringing. On Pixel you will hear nothing until you change to normal ring mode but then the phone also rings.
If anybody has a solution they are highly welcome
Nafets

It's not the only thing, that's "broken" with the pixel buds.
Call sound will only come from the right ear piece, at least for me.
Google really needs to push some crazy bug fixes.
