I purchased two XDA edition skin's for my phone 3 weeks ago and received it today (was very excited), but... Upon opening up the envelope I noticed something was wrong right away. The Nexus letters were missing, for both skin's.
(I'll leave a picture of everything that came in the envelope)
After that, I took the skin's out and it obvious that the camera and fingerprint cutouts and lens piece were completely screwd up.
(Picture below)
This is with the maple wood one, haven't tried the brushed steel, but it looks the same...

Hi,
Can you PM us your order number?
Thank You
That's too bad. I never had that problem with Dbrand skins.

Yea, my cousin bought some dbrand carbon fiber and bamboo skins for his s6 and the fit is perfect.
Btw Slickwraps is blaming me for not applying the skin correctly when the skin has clearly a uneven cutout.
This is what I emailed their costumer service before I even applied the skin itself.

This is the uneven cutout I'm talking about, it makes a bit of the skin overlap with the silver ring around the sensor attracting every single piece of dust and lint.

Try stickerboy if you can't get replacement skins. Good quality and perfect fit.

It looks as though the material snagged, causing it to stretch during the cutout process and resulting in oval cutouts. I have dealt with slickwraps customer service before, you shouldn't have any issue getting replacements much quicker than you'd expect. Incorrect order for my Nexus 5, had my replacements within 72 hours.

Thats what I was expecting, but it's been 2 days since they stopped responding to my emails.
I won't speak poorly of slick wraps, since I've never used them. However, DBrand seems to gave a good reputation and I personally had a perfect experience with them. Love my wrap. Sorry for that crappy experience you've had so far with yours. Hope it works out.
I got slickwraps leather skin which was perfect fit. Most probably your skin was not properly aligned as it is very hard to do.

Most cases I've tried add too much bulk and want something relatively thin.

I ordered this case a few days ago and received it today. I absolutely love it. The phone still has the slim feel to it as well as it now slides in and out of my pocket with little resistance. The case has a very tight fit around the phone. I have noticed after a day of use that the phone has no lint on it. Part of the case is a smoke clear tint and the top and bottom are a dark gray tiny. Hope this little review helps. Part of the case is a smoke clear tint and the top and bottom are a dark gray tiny. Sorry for the blurry photos.

The case arrived today.
Good news: it's fairly high quality, looks great, is made of the new rubber-silicone blend material, and it adds minimal bulk and weight with great protection.
Bad news: it doesn't fit the T-Mobile HD2. Yes, really....even though their ad specifically states that it does. It's too late tonight to reach their customer service, so I'll be calling first thing tomorrow for an immediate refund.
It's clear that this is cut to fit the "euro" HD2, as the only fit problem is the fact it can't quite streeetch all the way over the bottom lip of the phone, and it's obvious that 1.5mm less length in the phone would make the case fit perfectly. It even says on the placard in the packaging that it's for the other model
In the 3rd and 4th pics below you can see the space it won't quite stretch to cover (sorry about a little lack of clarity in the pics...it's hard to shoot macro in available light at dusk lol)
The search goes on. Next I'm going to try the one reganH22 posted above...and these are all just to keep me occupied 'till the otterbox case gets released

Just got my case in today; absolutely perfect! One thing though, the case covers my mic at the bottom...have you experienced people having problems hearing you? I have a TPU Candy Shell case for my Nexus One that has a hole for the mic and I have no problems with people hearing me.
Thanks for posting this case, the eBay seller is GREAT and this is exactly what I was looking for. I love TPU cases like this because they don't add bulk and aren't flimsy like silicone.
I posted this in another thread but it works in this one too...
the capdase hard silicone case works great with our version as well...just off slightly off at the bottom by the microphone but people can still hear just fine.....very snug and not feeling loose...it keeps the contour of the phone on the back which i like and it still keeps the phone slim...totally transparent...covers the camera in the back so it can be left on a table without suffering any scratches to the chrome bezel or the camera lens...looks sweet...cost is $13.40 shipped and arrived in 5 days from hong kong

Looks like the same one from the holster thread. From what they said this one works well for holding the T-mo hd2 with the screen in. The picture shows it held screen out, but I never understood that.
Anyway, the holster with "OP" on the clip is the good one

Funny! I had no idea until you just posted this. I've never had anyone tell me they are having trouble hearing me. I think the little gap there allows it to pick up the sound.
My guess is they screwed up and made the cut out on the wrong side. Looking at the TPU case that T Mobile sells (the pink one), their cutout is the exact same size, but on the opposite side. They probably used it as a template and then screwed up and reversed it. Check it out. Still love this case, regardless...
FIXED! 10 dollar cases rule.

Tell me youre kidding. I just read your post after ordering this case yesterday. I verified it should fit in every way possible. There screen shot http://www.fommy.com/view-full-page.asp?divid=HTC&model=HTC+HD2&cat=CASES&skuno=88318# showed a Tmobile US version with the case on. Then I watched this video and they used a Tmobile US Hd2 here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utDmDOi95Ps. I've already contacted them to not send it if that's the case and save everyone some trouble. As well, they should take the add down if that's the case or at least take the Tmobile USA references out of their add.

I purchased one several weeks ago and had to make a cut for the microphone also. Apparently this issue have been corrected. I just ordered another one off Ebay for little over $5, expected the same issue, but this one was corrected - no cutting needed. Fits perfect. This case is perfect for case within case.
I ordered both skins the same night, the 29th. The ExoSkin arrived much earlier so...:
The ExoSkin arrived in 2 days, one earlier that the estimated date.
I thought I ordered a wood but black carbon arrived. (I did NOT check before finalizing the order). Something that's not unheard of apparently.
The return process is straight forward BUT, a 10 day turn around plus shipping was too much so I just sucked it up and installed it.
The rear cover has an "elaborate" cut. Installation was incredibly easy, and it goes on dry. Directions say to use a heat gun or hair dryer.
Once installed, using the hair dryer to warm the skin around the edges, the rear is covered very well. *One note: the cut-outs for the camera LED and "LG" and logo are very precise. They are lined up perfectly. So is the IR and both microphone holes BUT the skin is a tad off. About 1mm.
I'm happy with it but there's no screen protector which is going to add to the total cost.
Now the XtremeGuard. I just checked the website and the protector that is installed to my wife's phone is still listed as "pending".
it was shipped on the 30th so it probably arrived and have been in my mail box since the 2nd.
The XtremeGuard seems simpler. It comes with a small microfiber cloth, which I'll keep for quick wipes of my lens before photos, a cardboard squeegee, rear protector, screen cover and instructions. It goes on wet.
I've been installing protectors before hardened glass so I hit the protectors lightli with Windex, apply, then squeegee. I also used the hair dryer to get the edges to stick faster. There' was no issues at all, besides me placing the front slightly off. About that screen protector, the entire area left of and including the ear the ear speaker is one cut-out.
The material is grippy but not tacky. it's about the same as Ghost Armor and that's good.
I know I said in the title "vs" but there's no vs. Both are incredibly nice, I'm happy with both, I'd use either again. It's a Win/Win!
Edit: while typing i got an email from XgearLive customer support saying they'd give 50% off on my next skin. Which will be soon!

I'm looking into this option as well since they cover the edges unlike xtremeguard
While the bodyguard covers better than the xtremeguard it doesn't cover as well as the ExoSkin.
I just ordered 3 more cases and another xtremeguard screen protector for my phone, (the wifes' is getting the pink skin and I'm changing to the wood).
Guess what arrived tonight. There's also a white carbon that looks incredible.
My initial conclusion seems correct. The skins are tad off on the left.
Buy the xtremguard carbon fiber red but not perfect fit on my D802 EUR (unfortunately) but very beautiful! Bye bye glossy!
I have a white version too but for later

Nice! Just got my bodyguardz & will do a full review in a separate thread. How is the texture on the red carbon fiber? Is it slippery or a good grip like surface?
Had one from Bestskinever on my Galaxy S2 2 years ago. Loved it but it was sort of slippery & the white got dirty fast
The wood is incredible. Not only does my wife keep mentioning it I've gotten 3 separate compliments today.

Damn that does look good. I wish they offered skins for the non-verizon variants.
My BodyGuardz armor white arrived today.
Overall I'm pleased and I like the white with the all-black face. Makes the device look slimmer. However, I feel that the edges may not last with rough usage.. in and out of pocket. I can feel the edges pretty well..
I've ordered a clear case to go round it.. that should make it last.. hopefully.

Now this is cool. Wonder how the quality is on these. I may try one out in the near future
So I previously ordered and installed the ZAGG full body protector (front and back) for my LG G2 (T-Mobile). The back protector was horrible. The cut outs were bad and collected a crazy amount of dust near the camera/button area. The screen protector was great as it covered 99% of the screen, but I took it off b/c of that orange peel effect.
I'm thinking between these three skins
1) Skinomi Tech Skin
2) ArmorSuit
3) Ghost Armor (Expensive though! - $60)
Anyone try either? and which one do you like better in regards to cut outs and protection?
The ArmorSuit looks like it's only for the back, no sides, top, or bottom.
If I remember correctly Skinomi is similar.
There are better options out there, particularly ones that use genuine 3M materials.

That's what I thought. But it does look like the Skinomi product offers the buttons and camera in the back which is pretty cool. I also forgot to add Ghost Armor to the list, but I don't know if anyone here tried that.

Ah. I don't use the rear protector since i have a TPU case. I actually left the verizon sticker on the back.
Front fits perfect though and I got it on without any dust / bubbles too on the first try
When you use the skin on the back button if you put the phone face up, would the back of the phone hit the skin or the "railing" on the side of the power button?

You mean the skin would cover the railing so the back of the phone touch the skin?

You can also check out Phantomskinz and Skinomi. I've had great success with all their skins. Normally go for a colored carbon fiber skin. Very durable stuff.
Dbrand
I tried skins for about a year and just hated them. They always start to fail on an edge seam. They collect dust/debris there and that causes the adhesive to fail and it just works its way back from there. Once the edge looses its grip and you slide it in your pocket a few times it starts to "unroll" from that edge and its all over :/ The orangepeel on the screen was a deal breaker too.
I got a skinomi and it was fine

Not even once have I had this problem with Dbrand. So far had it installed on my Nexus 6p, Galaxy S7, Pixel XL, Macbook, and Note 8. Even slickwraps I've tried and it's never come off like that.
Personally I prefer Dbrand for their precision.

I was talking about Zagg and body something.. ~$30 for the set both times. Every single piece over the course of a few months started to "roll" on the edges. When that happened I was constantly trying to stick it back on but by then the damage was done :/

I'm sure it's just the way I installed it. I'm not a professional skin installer so it fits perfectly for my needs. It's off by a millimeter or two. If you're looking for 100% precision fit then I'd recommend a case over a skin.

I've never used a toastmade skin before how are the buttons? I'm curious about trying one.
Also does the skin just stick on like other decal based skins or does it use some kind of adhesive.
Thanks.

The skin has an adhesive back and sticks directly to the phone. Like the phone skin, the button covers stick directly on the buttons. I was nervous they wouldn't stay on but they're still there! The installation isn't as straight forward as a normal skin but the results are worth the effort. I recommend watching a youtube review prior to installing one.
This thread is for users to post their current / past SKINS that are available for the Note 8.
Wonderful people of XDA, Please Post;
Picture of skin applied
Brand (e.g d-brand, slickwraps, easyskinz)
Skin name (e.g Black Dragon, Gloss White)
A few words of your overall opinion
Will post the only one i have soon when i can grab a picture.
Thank you!

SlickWraps Alcantara Charcoal color!
I've been a dBrand user for the longest time and didn't even know this Alcantara and their Natural Leather series (which uses real alcantara and leather material to make the skins) existed. This has to be the best feeling skin there is!
Only thing negative about these is their price... got mine on black friday 60% off. They have 50% off this week also.

Looks pretty slick, how is the thickness of the alcantara skin compared to other skins you've used in the past?
I have Samsung's Black Alcantara case and I do like it, I just prefer the phone to be naked with a thin skin so this would be a good aternative
Brought this one from Easyskinz.com
It's there "GLOSS JET WHITE Skin"
It sticks well and is easy to apply but I would of liked a bit more of a shiny white. There's not really a texture to it either just feels like a sticker.
(It does come with camera, front, side cutouts too)

It's pretty thick so you won't be able to use a case on top of it, i don't like to use cases so this is perfect. It gives you alot of grip, the edges kinda feel sharp but i think over time they will soften up.
They're on sale and today is the last day i think.

So I recently installed my slickwraps honeycomb black skin and I am not happy about it. I did a horrible job. There's bubbles everywhere... I'll post pics as soon as I'm at work...maybe lol

Haha don't worry. I shake real bad when trying to do something like this. Just try and angle the camera so you can't see how horrible it is
Aside from the install what about it don't you like?

As far as the bubbles, it's not that bad. I like it. But for the price slickwraps charges, I would not pay full price for it. Just seems a bit much to me for something like this. I was real hesitant to buy it at first but I saw they had a cyber Monday half off deal. So I said sure why not. Gimme a bit and I'll post some pics.
Here's some photos. Aren't the best quality. Were taken with a Nexus 6. As you can see, the bubbles. Those damn bubbles...

Take a needle to the bubbles to pop them, the skin will recover from hole you create when you pop them. Just be careful not to poke too hard.

So you think just poking a hole and leave it be will help? Cuz I'm about to tear this off...

The vinyl sticker can handle a lot. When you do pop it smooth it out to push any air that is trapped. If you are careful when you pop the bubble it will help.
I recently ordered dbrand dragon skin (grey one) , will post pictures once it arrives (and my note 8)

Cool, very interested to see one of these applied
btw take note of this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/Slickwraps/comments/7je121/uslickwrapscom_has_been_banned_from_reddit_for/
apparently both slickwraps and dbrand have been caught brigading on reddit (downvoting any negative comments regarding their products, bad mouthing each others products, shilling, etc)
slickwraps is the worst offender it seems since they have low quality products + shipping issues

i wouldn't pop those bubbles. they'll actually disappear over time. I once put a wrap on and hated the bubbles and wanted to tear it off right away but left it on over night and a lot of the bubbles disappeared. After 4 days or so they all disappeared.

Yea I tried on one big bubble I had and it didn't feel right sticking a needle to the back of my phone. I haven't messed with it and it seems to have gotten a lil better over time. I actually like the rhino and skin combo. Looks good.
