Randomly checked for an update today(9-20-16) and I am downloading a ~457MB update. I will update with baseband and other info once its installed.
EDIT-- Description says added WiFi calling, Advanced Messaging and other enhancements.
@iceman4357 hey there, what's the build no.?

I just received this update too, here in NJ(USA), and I now see the WiFi Calling icon in the Notification drop down menu... Anyone have a changelog for this update?
Just updated my phone but can't get wifi calling activated. Just says activation not successful, please try again later.

Mine did the same a few times. Power cycle the phone and keep trying. I was able to get it to go through while NOT on WiFi. No idea if that helps or not, but I needed almost full ATT service to get it to accept.

Thanks for the tip. Will try later when I have better reception. Kind of ironic that it needs full bars of service to activate something that is to be used when there is poor reception.

I tried a couple times and it failed. Turned WiFi off, and then it worked on first attempt. No reboot. No clue why.

I think it just needed a few more bars of service. I plugged in my microcell and the wifi calling activated after my cell reception went up.
Downloading now.. I guess I should abandon all hope of ever getting root on this S6 and just save up and buy a Nexus on Swappa.

This is the first phone I'm not using root on, and I can't say I'm missing it.
The only 2 things I really liked root for was TiBu and AdAway.

Weird, I still haven't received the OTA update. Just checked this morning.
I had to disable power safe to get Wi-Fi calling to activate but after that it worked like a charm

Anyone know an easy way to test wifi calling? I turned on airplane mode and wifi, but it just tells me to turn off airplane mode to make calls.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using XDA-Developers mobile app
after you activate WiFi calling, you will see a wireless symbol on the green call button. After completing a call, you can also go into your call log and there is a specific symbol for when you did a wifi call.

Is that symbol supposed to appear regardless of cell signal strength? I seem to have wifi calling activated, but I have no indication that it's working aside from being able to turn the switch on and off...

Okay, so figured out I had to have Enhanced LTE Services checked under Mobile networks=>Mobile data in order to get the wifi calling symbols to appear. I had turned off LTE Services because it had been causing problems where the other person couldn't hear me for periods of time randomly during phone calls. Guess I'll turn it back on and hope they fixed that problem too...
Anyone capture the OTA? I just checked earlier tonight and still have not received the update.
Anyone else having high Android OS and Android System battery drain after this OTA? I even tried a factory reset, but it's still there. I'm losing 4 to 6 percent battery power hour compared to 1 or 2 percent per hour before the OTA.

Me too. I didnt do a factory, did a cache wipe but still really high OS battery drain. I think its just a symptom of the build unfortunately. Looking forward to seeing the new Google Pixel lineup next week.

I have the same issue, did you find any sort of fix?
Yes I updated my profile and prl. Not sure why or how it got to that point though

Same thing
I'm having the same problem. It seems like it started when I updated to the newest software. When I'm right next to a tower, it seems to work normal, but when I get anywhere else...not so much. It will show signal, but disconnect right after I dial. After multiple attempts at provisioning, and manual reprogramming, they determined that it was an antenna problem and that I should take it into a store to get it replaced.
I'm having the same issue before and after updating. Sounds like a tower upgrade issue Imo
Sent from my awesome HTC M8
I thought that I had fixed it through a profile and prl update, but yesterday afternoon I lost everything. Took it back to the sprint store and was told that the connection issues are because of people buying or switching to the new S5 causing provisioning issues. The only time my phone works is over wifi. It's going back today

Fux the s5. Fux Sprint for not running the numbers on making sure it's network doesn't crash. The network is a nightmare in Chicago.

Pretty sure the network crap is just an excuse .... Just hope they realize and update their crap . I'll be hanging on awhile longer it not I'm just gonna call up htc and get it replaced after the 14 days
I was having the same problem and it turned out to be my Air rave. Called Air Rave direct 866-556-7310 and they reset my system. Everything fine now. Seems my air rave was stuck trying to connect my old phone. Maybe it'll help someone.
OK I already know what the unhelpful responses would be to this I.e. change your carrier. I assure you it is not the problem I have a super strong LTE connection at my house with a LG G3 and HTC One. My issue is when the phone is sitting with the screen off, if I pick it up fast enough I see its been searching for signal then it quickly changes back to in service. Any ideas or anyone else experiencing this?? Also in battery stats cell standby is high and time without signal is usually a couple hours. As long as the phone has its screen on it maintains a signal.
I have been getting wierd things happing with my signal on T-mobile( showing no bars when I have signal, not letting me make calls when I have full bars). I think this is less of a sprint issue and more of a device issue. Should not be hard to fix with an OTA so I'm not worried.
Thanks for the reply, I'm curious if others are having signal woes.
My device is doing the same. Bought direct from Motorola, using on T-Mobile.
Noticing the same on Tmo as well, no issue with my Z2 so I know its the N6. It will show no bars, then full and bounce around every so often like it can't decide on 3G, H or LTE.

OK thanks, guys I haven't seen any other sprint users chime in yet so this is very interesting coming from T-Mobile users. I bought mine direct from sprint and of course I'm running stock with boot loader unlocked, rooted, and twrp installed. I also feel like I would have way better battery life if the phone wasn't searching for signal when the screen was off.
I have the same issue on and I'm on T-Mobile
No issues at all for me on T-Mobile in my home / area, but I still have to test it when I go to work Monday . In fact I have much better cell reception on my N6 than my note 4.
I am using tmobile nexus 6 on verizon and it doed act funky. Sometimes all bars would be grey, but ill still have service. Is odd because other verizom phones always show at least 2.
I had the same issues with the Nexus 5 and GPE HTC One M8, but I was on AT&T. Signal bounced all over, never hold LTE signal, dropped calls, bars would disappear, and that never happened on my other phones. Anyone have any input with the Nexus 6 and signal on AT&T?
I am having the exact same issue on T-Mobile. It is leading to some pretty significant battery drain, I hope this is fixed soon!
I'm even seeing users reporting on this over at the sprint sub on reddit. Hopefully just a software issue that gets fixed soon.
I switched from vzw to sprint for unlimited data and this phone so I cant comment on sprints coverage at home until this point. However my signal is very irradic and constantly non existant while my buddies gs5 and iphone 6 plus in the same room show 3 to 4 bars on sprint. I have done prl updates and tried every setting possible without root, hopefully it is software related.

I am on Three network in the UK and they have an app that you can use on wifi when no signal is present (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.hutchison3g.threeintouch&hl=en_GB). Unfortunately, it doesn't run on rooted phones and no root cloak app hides root from detection. I have come across this page https://redfern.me/bypassing-root-detection-in-three-intouch/ as a how to change the APK to bypass root restrictions but as I am clueless I could not do this myself.
Is there anyone who would be kind enough to do this for me (or does anyone already have this APK?).
Thanks in advance.

Just wondering as you're also on 3 with an N6... I constantly get data dropping out and have to flick into airplane mode and back again to get it back. I think its a lollipop issue because i had it on my n5 after the update. It happens on the stock rom and on PureShamu. That damn exclamation mark on the signal symbol is driving me nuts! It happens everywhere, too not just on a few towers...

I think its because the phone is hunting between 3G, H and 4G all the time....
I've noticed the same thing. My data connection will just show no service. But what's weird is that if I turn my WiFi off at home it will then pick up a signal. WiFi on and the signal drops again.

Sorry for the off topic, but I've got one of those signal boosters from 3 with my nexus 5. Back story, the mast here failed a lot last year. When its working, signal here is fine son I told them i don't want a box...
They sent it anyway and I've had no end of problems with it. It all works fine, I get great signal with it and the box lights up to indicate its connected to the internet. But randomly, it wont send calls to my handset... So I miss calls (without knowing)... Worst time was when my Dad came to visit my village for the first time and was just wondering around for ages trying to find me... Gah

That's interesting.
What's strange is, i was definitely connected to the box. In fact, I don't even need the box usually but there was a brief outage on the mast so I turned it on and forgot to turn it off again. The network worked outside of my house, but when I came home and connected, I couldn't receive calls not even missed call..

I have a signal blackspot radius of around 800ft from my flat. The only problem I've had so far is when I upgraded from a Nexus 5 to a Nexus 6 I needed a nano sim and of course the homesignal box wouldn't recognise the new sim card!
Howdy,
I am having a puzzling issue:
WiFi calling is on, I can place calls - no problem. Every day I however am missing incoming calls - the call goes directly to voice mail.
Text messages are coming in from the same number a few seconds later telling me that my wife called and the call went to voice mail
Power cycling the phone or making an outgoing call seems to fix the problem.
It seems to me the trigger for it is when I leave my home and come back. The WiFi calling icon comes up - so it looks like it has registered ...
The same SIM in my "old" Note 2 ... I don't have any issues - no missed calls.
Hardware (phone) has been exchanged, numerous calls to t-mobile with the usual factory reset ... reset phone registration etc.
My internet connection is a directed WiFi ( WISP, I am the owner of the network). I usually have around 40/20 MBit - that should do, IMHO. The slowest ping to google I have seen was 40ms - most the time we are less than 10ms
Any hints are highly welcome ( I am ready to return the phone so frustrated I am ... )
Thanks
Oskar
Well what I have seen is if you stay stock you ended good. Rooting and flashing ROM has giving my phones headaches. I think issues are with TMOBILE handling your phone call switch over. Been on phone with them and have been thru 2 phones and 1 on the way. They don't wanna admit they messed up . so it gonna be a wait till update comes out.

It's a shot in the dark but you might want to try a new SIM card. I was also using a SIM from my Note 2 and was having problems. New SIM seemed to fix it for me. I am rooted as well.

I went through 2 phones also and it's not the sim card because I switched it 2-3 times
I get plenty of missed calls from my work, I wake up and see voicemails and there's no notification of a missed call. So basically people are calling me and I don't even know unless they leave a voicemail which people barely do nowadays.
I talked to a rep and told me to turn off volte and it helped SOMETIMES but it still happens to me.

so, in the moment the conclusion seems to be .. it is either on the t-mo network side or the OS.
One more bit: I am using insteon and Mobilinc Pro for light control. That app works perfect on the note 2, on the note 4 button clicks seems not to work - or at least different.
So I wonder whether it might be possible to flash a note 4 rom to a note2 - just for testing purpose

I'm glad to see this thread and will be following it. I'm on a T-Mobile Note 3 and am seeing the same thing with missed calls and also repeating and delayed texts. Just today I left my Wifi and got an important text message from about 15 hours ago! I also can't download MMS, but am not sure if it is related yet.
well,
updated to Lolipop and several calls to t-mo tech support and trouble tickets:
I still am missing incoming calls.
When I know a call is coming and I toggle WiFi on the phone on and off ... then the call comes thru
Absolutely frustrating

Yep this happens to me constantly. Family says "I've been trying to get a hold of you all day" and I'm just replying well it didn't ring so I dunno. And that's on different ROM's.
this is a much acknowledged issue with the LP update, many threads are filled with complaints of it but it doesn't affect everyone so its hard to say the cause. My phone works fine but others' don't so idk
Yesterday I upgraded to 5.1 by flashing the factory images (no userdata wipe). Everything is running great except messaging is all over the place (I'm on T-mobile). I never received duplicate messages on 5.0.1 and now I'm getting them constantly. Also, now when I receive MMS messages (using Google Messenger) I get the "failed to download - click to retry" crap all the time that fails to download. Again, this never happened on 5.0.1.
Is anyone else seeing these issues since upgrading? Is this a T-mobile issue on the server side? Or is this something caused by me not wiping userdata (I doubt it unless it screwed with the APN, which looks normal).

I saw posts reporting this as an issue for Sprint users but I hadn't seen any for T-mobile yet. Thanks for the heads up. I'm guessing if it's widespread than it's likely an issue on the carrier side.
If I remember correctly, people were able to correct the issue by toggling off the "enhanced lte mode" in carrier settings.
I've been having this issue too any one know if toggle enhanced LTE fixes the problem ?

Haha! It's doing a GREAT job at holding the paper down on my desk!! [emoji106]
I turned off enhance LTE and I'm getting MMS from everyone but people on att weird
Yes!! Definitely an issue here. My MMS is all over the place. Some messages come through, others are dropping. If you try to dial "611" to connect to T-Mobile, it fails every time! Turning off enhanced LTE fixes the issue. Seems to be a carrier side problem indeed.
Exact same issues here. Also on tmobile, hoping they fix this soon.
Also have been getting duplicates and texts all over. Really hope its a server issue and not 5.1
Very sick of this error. I send double texts and get quadruple back. Stock unrooted 5.1 userdata wiped via fastboot.
Everyone, please comment on this bug report I filed with Google. This will help give us an answer.

Another work around is to select LTE only in *#*#4636#*#*

Forget suggestion just delayed it
T-Mobile was having issues yesterday. This was not Nexus 6 specific
I'm having the same issue to. I call 611 and it just says call ended. I also noticed my LTE signal is better however the speeds are horrible. I'm getting 3-5mbps where before 5.1 I was getting 15-20 mbps.

Well, I did Google searches yesterday when this was occurring for me and saw plenty of reports, including the Apple forums, lol. I wasn't able to receive text messages for hours after I was receiving duplicate for hours. Later in the evening I suddenly got over 30 texts that had been sent to me throughout the day. My fiance had the same issue on her moto x. Her parents had the same issues on their gs5s and had this weird Nokia message handling error when receiving MMS.
