I've been using Tesla ROM (Android 6.0) for a few months now, but it suffers from stability issues. I'm at the stage now where I don't care one bit about running the latest Android version or features, I could go back to Jellybean for all I care.
So I ask - what, in your experience, has been the most stable and battery-friendly firmware so far for the Xperia Z, completely ignoring features or "flavor"? Stock Jellybean? I do prefer the AOSP look and feel at this stage, but if there is no AOSP as good as stock then I'm willing to settle.
Thanks for your feedback!
I am using Slimkat 4.4.4 for butter smooth performance. And also the battery life is impressive. though I flashed KMA kernel to this rom and tweaked it by Kernel auditor. Now overall performance is best in the line.
i'm sure KK roms are way better than LP or MM Roms in battery aspects.
and personally i prefer miui 7 .because its based on stock KK (.283/.292) with all of sony stock features including sony camera, bravia engine,..... and miui look and feel.

stock 5.1.1 100% stable, even with custom kernel.
AOSP/CM/etc. lp/mm not stable.
Stock LP has horrible battery life.
Yeah, using MIUI for the moment. I actually ordered a new Redmi Note 4, so it's goodbye to the Yuga for me!

Hi, i would like know what is the best ROM now for SP? AOKP CM Existenz ecc? A summary of ROM can be useful.
Sorry for english
Thanks
sir, u got death wish?
After many tries best for me is stock rom
I've used quite some roms and kernels. For now the best two would be pacrom and Crystal PA rom. They are stable, have some additional features compared to cm11 and they are fast. With williams kernel they work smooth.
If you are looking for stock based then in my opinion eXistanZ Ultra with Williams v7 would do.
Here's what I think about the different ROMs out there!
CM11 - Great support, lots of MODs, very stable. But tends to get laggy very soon.
AOSPA - Some great unique features, great Audio, better touch sensitivity ( All the @neXus PRIME ROMs have these features.
PAC - Loaded with all the goodness from all the ROMs, but had some random reboots but that might be my problem only!
OMNI - The ROM which is the most close to AOSP. Almost the pure android experience.
AICP - Loaded with features and honestly, overloaded. Gets very laggy, really soon.
AOKP - I'm not an AOKP lover, had random problems with AOKP.
Vanir - 4.4.2 version was absolutely brilliant. It was THE fastest and most responsive ROM out there. With 4.4.4 came lots of bugs.
CM 11s - A very nice ROM. Stable and good battery life upto an extent.
SlimKat - Extremely stable for me
Stock Based - They are really stable and provides improved functionality over the Stock FWs. But no KitKat love for them!
CM 12 - Alpha Stage and unstable obviously!
Out of all these I personally prefer the OMNI or SlimKat.
P.S : All these are my opinions and may NOT be how the ROM works out for others. I respect all the developers who worked behind them

No problems in using 4.4.2 but we don't want to stick with an earlier version when you have later ones, do we? Still it's a good option!:fingers-crossed:
Hi Guys,
My moto G 2014 lags quite a bit and the battery backup is horrible .. I'm on stock currently.
I'm new to rooting and stuff, so need suggestion as to which is the best (not fast, but just no lags .. battery is very imp) .. I'm not a gamer or anything, just normal whatsapp and photos, thats all.
Thanks
all rom are best. please choose rom according to your choice and like
OK so here is my opinion, (note it's My opinion)
Stock based : Radium Redefined v1.2
Cm 12.1 : Fusion LP or Orion
Cm 13 : Vatsals Optimised Cm 13 Builds
AOSP 5.1.1 : Minimal Os
AOSP 6.0 : haven't tried any type yet.
I've used all with just Whatsapp, Uc Browser, 2 games and a couple of music apps.
All the above give me more than 5 hrs of SoT with little gaming that is.
For me cm13 official
I try :
Cm 12.1 : works well but some bug time to time
Cm 13 : I love marshmallow but big big problem with sim network provider, always lost connection and poor battery
SlimSaber 5.1.1 : the best for me.
I really waiting good connection and battery life with marshmallow.....
I use stock kitkat 4.4.4, rooted+xposed for some modules(greenify, amplify...), unistalled some system apps that I dont use. I downgraded from Minimal OS because of battery backup and reliability. Now I am getting AT LEAST five hours SOT with heavy usage, a lot of youtube, whatsapp and FB. No force closes unless you unistal something you need for the phone to work properly but you can fix it with a Nandroidbackup.
However, if you mind having the look of lollipop I definitely recommend Minimal OS as it is VERY VERY STABLE, it has the best battery backup on any lollipop rom I tried (at least 7 roms), I think i faced 3 reboots in 2 months since it was my daily driver other than that, rock solid.
Best roms for moto g 2nd gen (xt1068)
The following roms are the most stable roms i have ever used on my moto.
1. Blisspop. (with maximum customisation) BlissPop-v4.0.3-titan-OFFICIAL-20151031-1345
2.Cyanogenmod 12.1 (Minimum customisation) cm-12.1-20151117-SNAPSHOT-YOG7DAO1K5-titan
Try them, you will definitely love it.
Cheers
I'm using minimal OS and i have any single lag (on other rom's there are many as you said) also battery backup is very good. You have to try it!
THIS is what I'm using...
I've been using Nexus Experience 10.1 with Extended Kernel and am extremely happy with it. No bugs, very smooth, excellent battery life, and pulled a 29203 on AnTuTu Benchmark(Would post a screen shot but am not allowed).
YMMV, as they say...
I would suggest you Minimal OS 5.1.1 . It's very stable, no bugs what so ever. Integrated kernel is very battery friendly but you can have any kernel you want really (Halogen R14 is my choice) . RAM management is on top of what the device is capable of and it got everything you need in terms of customizing your device while keeping it clean and not overloaded like CyanogenMod.
Not that there is any "best rom" but here is my opinion:
6.0.1 -> Broken OS by ishubhamsingh
5.1.1 -> (1).SlimSaber by aayushya, (2).Minimal OS by vatsal
Stock -> definitely 6.0 over 5.0.1
I recommend SlimSaber as I am a huge fan of Slim, the roms are always very fast and light, which means good battery. If you want a pure AOSP experience, go for Minimal OS
As far as kernel goes, Decipher kernel is really great. The kernel that comes with broken os is also very good. Rest kernels have too many features which may end up slowing it down
5.1.1 definitely Resurrection Remix ROM (v5.5.9)
Hello Everyone,
I want to install a mm ROM (doing it for the first time).....can anyone suggest me the best mm ROM in terms of smoothness, stability, features, battery use, etc. (quite confused as there are many options out there)...

Dirty Unicorns according to me. Actually all ROMs are more or less the same. Some might be CM based while some might be AOSP based thats the only difference.
AOSP by Ivan. Its the best in terms of stability, battery life, smoothness. It is nearly stock android plus some tiny additional features.
If you want feature full rom then try CM, and others.
If you want stability and battery life, miui official global stable image or xiaomi.eu's one.
If you try something different (not miui) you can find a lot of roms. the problem is: more features ==> more potential problems.
aosp by ivan is cool and clean. dirty unicorns is probably the best with a lot of features right now.
i will recommend this. clean and stable.

Latest Official Ressurection Remix MM. Amazing performance, Doze is working flawlessly, no bugs, super stable. Gaming is smooth even when underclocking to 1.9Ghz and undervolting. And if you care for benchmarks... above 58k on Antutu.
so many ROMs for N6
Chroma.... It's got the best features to work around and I love it
Stock with xposed, gravity box and elementalx
Inviato dal mio Nexus 6 utilizzando Tapatalk
Chorma & CM 13 OR AICP with multiROM , stability and great battery life
kernel always ELEMENTALx
Question to Fight...
Although it is sadly no longer being developed, Cataclysm Rom does absolutely everything that I need.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=3059493/
Lite stock rom and prerooted. Every month update (security update)
Ressurection Remix . Every feature you can imagin , but
also rock stable and blazing fast .

Even though it was a hybrid ROM, I really love Temaseks CM13 ROM for 6.0.1. with Singularity.
10 responses - and 9 different ROMs recommended!
I hope that the OP feels that this question has been answered.

Subscribe to that. I still hope for him to return.
I switch ROMs all the time but there are so many great ones. I prefer CMTE theming over layers/substratum and prefer AOSP over CM so my personal favorites atm are Dirty Unicorns, AOSiP, and CandySix.
tipsy, tesla, validus, broken, aosip, candy six, Resurrection Remix, DU, all great ones...
I have used so many roms but my personal fav is Resurrection Remix with elementalX .
I am waiting for MIUI to come on nexus 6 because I really like its colourful UI and awesome battery standby! and btw if you need a different UI you can try FIUI.
Pure Nexus with ElementalX. Stable, excellent battery life, frequent updates and near stock UI with some useful extra features.

Hi,
I've been on 6.0.1 with kernel 3.10.84-OM5Z (rooted) for about a year now, but would like to update to the current best rom for fully functioning camera (with DRM patch), battery life and heat.
Have been watching and waiting regarding Nougat. What's the opinion? Which is the best stock-based rom/patched kernel combo to go for at the moment?
BR.
