OnePlus 3 : What nowadays ? - OnePlus 3 Guides, News, & Discussion

Hello guys !
I talk for all OnePlus3's owners : you all know there were many many bugs : Call dropping, Call noise for the receiver, Wifi strength, random reboot, and many more...
Do you still have those kind of bugs and glitchs ?
Thank you for the answer,
Cheers.

I never experience all of this since i bought mine 3 months ago.

Signal is a crap. Most of the time having 3-4 bars (doesn't matter LTE or H+) in the centre of my city, where on HTC 10 I had LTE+ on full bars most of the time.

I have never had these issues at any point...

I've used the phone for about two months and never experienced any issue.

I use to have poor reception 2-3 months before after updates everything is working fine.

Works great for me on the stock ROM. all functional issues have been addressed in my opinion
Bad reception is usually a symptom of the user's location or country

No issues for me using it since the launch

No issue here... I don't use LTE or any other tho.

Netwrok signal all Time poor.. When i sent sms its need more time to send.. and Its very Weak for Get signal ??

Have had it since 9/12 and have had no issues. Reception on at&t is better than my old Op2 and just as good if not better than wife's iphone 6s.

No issues experienced on this phone since I got it.

Updated to 3.2.4 during the setup only. Never had a single issue which people reported like call drops, lte issues etc. I guess the older units had these issues.

I've had mine since I ordered it on launch day and received it shortly after. Never had one issue like this.

Ive heard the same issues on my old phone.. signal just acts strange nothing u have to worry about with the OP3

Had mine since it was released and I haven't had a single problem with it, far from it. Every "common known bugs" you are mentioning are points where I'm saying the OP3 excels at. And when I recommend the phone to others the ONLY negative points I have is back camera lins poking out (a case fixes that), no sd card expansion (minor inconvenience) and that the battery isn't easily replaced (dash charge outbalance that).

Perhaps the HTC10 was overplaying the signal reading? TBH I don't take any notice of the bars as long as I can get a signal/make & receive calls, on that score I've never noticed any issues.
There's minor issues with the OP3 but none are real killers and there's still no better smartphone when it comes to value/performance.
Just wish OP would hurry up and explain properly what direction they intend taking the Oxygen OS.

[Q] Dropping signal frequently / Rant about build quality.

This is my 3rd Moto X replacement, but it seems that this one drops signal every 10 minutes or so and doesn't come back till I toggle airplane mode. This, in turn, kills my battery since most of the signal meter in the battery usage is red. Now, I don't have great signal, usually 2 bars on a scale from 0-4 bars, but all my other phones (N4, N5, Htc one) hold signal fine. My htc one isn't even a tmobile phone (my carrier), but it works better than this. (It was unlocked)
I've tried RSD lite, wiping cache, reflashing radios, pretty much everything. This is kind of getting ridiculous. I miss a lot of calls because of this too, and for some reason, they don't get registered as voicemails (maybe a tmo problem, I don't know).
Is anyone else having this problem? I really don't want to replace my phone again since this is the 3rd unit now. The first one randomly rebooted and the second one the headphone jack didn't work. Seriously disappointing build quality from a company that has been known for great cell radios and phones.
@Xatt - You've helped in the past, any ideas here?

I would have to say you are in the minority here. Moto makes excellent devices and build quality is certainly there strong point. There next strong point is radios. I haven't had a single issue with the 2 Moto X's that I've had.

Obviously. I'm not saying everyone has the issue. I'm just saying that out of the 3 moto x's I've had, all of them had problems out of the box. I know radios is their strong point, that's why I'm saying why is this happening. I seriously don't want another replacement, but I like the rest of the phone. Its just the actual phone part that doesn't work :silly:

I agree with jmill. Unlike Nexus devices, Moto radios are usually very good. I've had stronger reception on my X than I had on my Nexus 4, 5 and Galaxy S4.

I wonder if you've got some sort of electromagnetic interference going on where you're at and it just happens to affect the Moto X radio.

[Q] Signal trouble but don't understand what

So, I installed SlimROM for S3mini and i think it's awesome.
However, I've had some trouble with my internet when i'm not on wifi. The logo says I have 3g but its very unstable. Just now I tested it and the play store worked fine and then suddenly didn't anymore. But if i press Retry for about 10 times, it sudden;y works fine again.

Probably the location you are at does not have the refarmed 1900 towers, where i live if i drop to 3g it would instantly not work and would have to wait till im back on HSPA or H to get decent signal.

You can try a different rom then cause some roms have bad data as its not fully stable on their sources. So for now flash a different rom and see if it improves.
So I would like to Bump this thread. As after trying many different maclaw ROM's, waited for months to see if anything would develop that would help me, It's still not fixed.
So the situation is this: My phone's data works fine in the whole of europe (I just travelled and never let me down). Because so much time has passed I've installed SlimKat ROM, and again my data seems to be unstable.
I'm thinking it's a Modem problem and I wonder if there is anything I can do about this.
Also, once I read that someone had a similar problem, no fix for it though.
Also, If other people are aving similar troubles, please post to get a feel for how often this problem occurs
You can try switching your phone in 2G only mode and see if net is working that way. It will be a little slower than 3G, but try and report Maybe the 3G signal in your area is weak.

Thanks, I'll try this. However, I don't think my 3G sidnal is weak in my area as I've never had the problem with StockRom. Also, I'm having the trouble wherever i am throughout my whole city and in other cities. To me, that doesn't seem to be a signal problem.

T-Mobile US users having text issues?

Is anyone else having issues sending or receiving text messages? A few friends sent me texts yesterday, and I sent a bunch also, but they didn't receive them until this morning. I also didn't receive some of theirs until this morning.
Working fine over here. Are you stock or did you mess with your APN?
Yup. Happening here also. It's a network issue.
My apn is fine. I haven't had any issues with texts until yesterday. A girl I work with said her friend was having texting issues yesterday also on T-Mobile. Completely different phone.

Wow, I thought I was alone, happened to me yesterday as well.. Messages were coming super late & all out of order.. I almost got caught up in a lie because of it lol ?
I also received 3 copies of the same exact message over a period of about 6 hours.
YES, this is the absolute worst ****ing network ever. everything you described happens to me regularly (see my post history) and tmobile doesn't give a ****. today my mom got a text from me at 420am that i sent at 7pm yesterday.

"Hahaha yes this is not a new issue" was received 5 times, but marked as one failed send on my phone.
Was happening all weekend in California...Los angeles area..i was almost thinking its rom related lol
'
Yep had a text message come in after 2 hours later lol
Same thing happened to me, I am in Los Angeles. My friends were getting texts at 2 in the morning, the same text I had sent them the morning the day before and I kept getting their texts over and over randomly throughout the day.
Another thing I noticed, at work for the first time I got full 4GLTE yesterday, before I barely got 4G with a few bars. This leads me to believe that that they did some major upgrades yesterday. I have full 4G LTE again today, still thinking it's too good to be true, so I will take a day of hiccups if it results in LTE. I have worked here for 4 years so I was surprised to say the least.

LOL same here. I blamed it on Verizon (the recipients) lol Hopefully this issue finished. Ohio here btw
T mobile is doing some major network revamping this year and next year so it's probably related to that. I came from verizon about a year ago, verizon would lose and send late texts all the time. Haven't had it happen on tmobile yet but I'm sure it's bound to happen sometime. I live in a great coverage area for all four carriers so I don't know what verizons excuse is on the text end but it was a eight year issue For me.
Los Angeles. Been having lots of MMS /SMS issues since I joined T-Mobile in 2013. In the last weeks it has cost me a few arguments with my wife so I had to switch to Hangouts for good
Edit: since hangouts doesn't allow me to delete pictures from messages I had to switch to WhatsApp
Just to add to this. T-mobile knows about this and has a ticket out to get it fixed. The problem was found on 4/17/2015. It looks like it has something to do with the Service Center that the SMS goes though to send. They do not have a fix for it but if you do happen to call in about the problem, they do give credits for your time. I do work for Tmobile as a RSA and can see the ticket that was filled out. I do not have this problem but I know others have come into my store with the problem. Hopefully this helps to know that T-mobile knows about the problem and is looking into it.
If you get word that the issue is fixed please let us know

3T issues

Hey so I just recently received 3T, which is on OOS 3.5.4.
Can anyone tell me the problems 3T has like hardware type related and software too? I would like to test out the unit. I haven't experienced any issues on microphone or calling so that seems to be good so far.
How do I test the automatic shutdown that some 3T devices were experiencing? It won't operate at 2.35 GHZ freq. so it shuts down.
Please guys try to be appropriate and honest.
Also, i get 4G symbol, but i wish it would display LTE. How can I get the LTE to show instead of 4G
Benchmark apps like AnTuTu will ramp up the frequency of your CPU to test it's stability.
If you really want to have the cell signal indicator to display LTE, you're going to have to install Xposed and find a module to change it (or install a different ROM). Keep in mind that you can't use Xposed on Nougat (OOS 4 and above).
My 3T seems to frequently disconnect from my wifi at home on both 2.4 and 5GHz channels, but it didn't happen when I use wifi at school. None of my other devices seem to share this problem at home, so I'm not sure if it's phone or access point related.
It should test around 160 to 164K with Atuntu even though OPO cheated by a couple hundred to a thousand. You should be GOLDEN but still upwards of 160K. New LTE iconwill show up when you update to Nougat.

Even Oneplus cheated benchmarking apps. And there is no option to change 4G icon to LTE. I am on 4.0.2. May come afterwards.

Oops i didn't read your post properly. Never mind it.
Thank you guys!
I haven't faced any Wifi disconnection at home, or at my University. So, it could be hardware defect? I will continue to monitor this. Last night while I was outside at a bus station and called my mom, she heard weird noises while talking to me like static and some wind-ish type, even though my speech was very clear. I don't know what to make of this because I never had this issue on Pixel XL and Galaxy devices (S4 and S6). The one thing i like so far is that wifi didn't disconnect like it used to in Pixel XL randomly at my university :S.
I will do the Antutu benchmarking and see how that goes! Hopefully i don't get the automatic shutdown lol.
Thank you everyone! If you guys had any call quality issue like I did, could it be software or hardware defect?
So my oneplus didn't shutdown during antutu benchmarking..
If you have problem with mic or speaker do a reset

Question Unstable connection

Ive noticed instability with connection, at start it was just too perfect and then it started to drop.
I play mobile legends and in the begining I was getting good ping, but then it started to jump, so I tested speed and can notice ping is not stable, while on my op6t it is good and stable, tested on both WiFi and 4G+. Any body noticed this and found a solution? Please advise.
** Note: I noticed this not only on mobile legends, on YouTube and web browsing as well, even sometimes telling my no connection.
My device is global with official global software.
I have too, experienced with Viber, WhatsApp and YT. Global SW 12.0.1.0.

So depending which one you have it should be fine. Except the 5g doesn't have all the bands but that depends on which bands are used in your area.

i have that idea in mind, but I still need 2 days or 3 to be able to do it. also, I am thinking not to go that way since it is my daily driver and I want to keep it as stable as possible so I do not keep backing up and restoring all the time.
A question, is EU rom official? I still don't get it as I cannot see it on the official website, I think Star and Mars and whatever are all custom roms, am I correct?
Thanks for previous answer and Thanks in advance.

Yeah that's weird I am sure it'll probably update eventually and make it go away or maybe try resetting your phone after backing it up. Also try going to your settings and type reset at the top it's going to say reset network settings. Click that and restart your phone sometimes phones ping off of the wrong towers this usually fixes that issue.
