3T issues - OnePlus 3T Questions & Answers

Hey so I just recently received 3T, which is on OOS 3.5.4.
Can anyone tell me the problems 3T has like hardware type related and software too? I would like to test out the unit. I haven't experienced any issues on microphone or calling so that seems to be good so far.
How do I test the automatic shutdown that some 3T devices were experiencing? It won't operate at 2.35 GHZ freq. so it shuts down.
Please guys try to be appropriate and honest.
Also, i get 4G symbol, but i wish it would display LTE. How can I get the LTE to show instead of 4G

Benchmark apps like AnTuTu will ramp up the frequency of your CPU to test it's stability.
If you really want to have the cell signal indicator to display LTE, you're going to have to install Xposed and find a module to change it (or install a different ROM). Keep in mind that you can't use Xposed on Nougat (OOS 4 and above).
My 3T seems to frequently disconnect from my wifi at home on both 2.4 and 5GHz channels, but it didn't happen when I use wifi at school. None of my other devices seem to share this problem at home, so I'm not sure if it's phone or access point related.

It should test around 160 to 164K with Atuntu even though OPO cheated by a couple hundred to a thousand. You should be GOLDEN but still upwards of 160K. New LTE iconwill show up when you update to Nougat.

Even Oneplus cheated benchmarking apps. And there is no option to change 4G icon to LTE. I am on 4.0.2. May come afterwards.

Oneplus clearly mentioned in their changelog that wifi may disconnect. So wait for their next OTA.

Oops i didn't read your post properly. Never mind it.

Thank you guys!
I haven't faced any Wifi disconnection at home, or at my University. So, it could be hardware defect? I will continue to monitor this. Last night while I was outside at a bus station and called my mom, she heard weird noises while talking to me like static and some wind-ish type, even though my speech was very clear. I don't know what to make of this because I never had this issue on Pixel XL and Galaxy devices (S4 and S6). The one thing i like so far is that wifi didn't disconnect like it used to in Pixel XL randomly at my university :S.
I will do the Antutu benchmarking and see how that goes! Hopefully i don't get the automatic shutdown lol.
Thank you everyone! If you guys had any call quality issue like I did, could it be software or hardware defect?

So my oneplus didn't shutdown during antutu benchmarking..

If you have problem with mic or speaker do a reset

Is this the same update that came out a week or so ago? If you'd like to block it from auto-updating, try the link in my signature to disable the System Update app.
I'm taking it. may improve battery life and missed taps.

Nope still waiting for the dang update
I got my update this morning while away in Texas for business. I woke up and checked my phone any saw an update had downloaded so I installed it. It was about 172mb and the last two letters in my version for software is Z5. The screen touxh issues seemed to be fixed. Other than that I haven't noticed anything else. Battery life seems to be okay. It appears its draining a bit faster

You have the old software version. You are on Z4. The new version is Z5. Try checking for software updates manually in the lg software update

yeah battery draining a bit faster
Got it (new Software version LS991ZV5), haven't noticed much difference yet. I've been dealing with stutter/lag/missed touches since I got the phone. Nova launcher helped, it's more responsive than the default. But in the app drawer, scrolling up and down through the apps is slower/stuttery and misses swipes compared to my friend's LG G3. It's an odd issue and it seems that the acceleration and sensitivity is not optimized yet, it seems that it stutters when accessing memory or some type of internal CPU lag or something, even with the new version from what I can tell.
ZV5
Updated this morning. The good news is I got about a 10% bump in Antutu benchmark, 45000s to 49000s. The bad news is I'm getting about the same touch response, ~98%.
Got my update...I have noticed that touch seems to be fixed. I have not missed any touches opening apps. However the knock-on feature still misses some times. Facebook feed runs smoother and there is not as much lag. I hope that LG is still working the kinks out.
Got it last night. Screen is definitely better now. Almost no misses. And I dare say that I'm getting better battery life. I might be imaging it.

Unable to track Using T mobile FamilyWhere

Having a bit of a problem using familywhere on t mobile. I'm able to locate myself and anyone else in my family using a galaxy s6, an idol 3, and a nexus 6 that a bought this summer. But i'm unable to locate anyone using a nexus 6 a bought last week and a nexus 6 that I bought last month. I've checked and double checked the settings, have the t mobile build of 6.0. everything seems the same as the older nexus 6 (same build mra58x, same settings) but I still cant find a way to get the 2 newer phones located. I have also switched out sims from other family members who are part of the account and its unable to locate any of the on the newer nexus 6, but work fine on my other phones including that older nexus 6. Anyone have any ideas or tips?
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue on t mobile? Perhaps its not the device but the service itself. Still difficult to understand because I've even been able to track a moto e 2015 Verizon phone that has been unlocked.
i enabled the tmo settings for it online and it tracked my n6 no problem. it was so annoying though, so i disabled it again.

Quick question, did you buy the nexus 6 from t mobile?

yes. but i dont think that would do anything for it, as all nexus 6 are running the same software, and i dont run any of the specific tmobile builds(im always modding my phone).
Ok so after messing around with settings I was able to get the phone to be located by going into the cell networks settings menu and switching off 'Enhanced 4G LTE Mode'. Not sure if this means I wont get hd voice or volte though. That older nexus 6 that has always worked in familywhere has enhanced 4g enabled, and everything works fine. Maybe its some bug?
odd. mines on, volte and everything is working. bug, maybe. or a bug on their end?

[Q] Enable tethering under certain conditions

I am new to tasker and I thought I had some slight understanding of it, but I was wrong. I have a Galasy S6 running Marshmallow and I am trying to enable tethering when my phone connects to my cars bluetooth and has to be charging. It keeps failing to enable tether. Can anyone guide me in the right direction to accomplish this?
I came here with this exact same issue. I have it set up to trigger wifi tether when my vehicle headunit is in range, but it's not working automatically. If I manually trigger the profile it works fine though.

I can't even get it to manually work. What does your profile look like?
Well, I've redone it using Secure Settings and since I did it here at work today, I haven't got out to the Jeep to test it yet, but they all trigger manually. Here's screenshots of it. I'm using State - Net - BT Near profile to hopefully trigger, won't know until I get out to the vehicle.

I tried to use your profile and I still can't get it manually to enable I hope both of us can figure out a way for it to work.
I've read that different phones respond to turning the hotspot on differently.
Have you tried the built in wifi tether within tasker and not the Secure Settings hotspot?
Also, are you rooted?

Yeah, I've been trying many different things which is why I posted an updated screenshot. I can't get this to work for the life of me.
I'm going to concede defeat and run it like this. All that's required from me is to switch off my headset before I turn the key. Was hoping for 100% automation, but this works as well.

Now that we've gotten the profiles situated, I was looking into your issue as well since my dad will be needing auto tether on his S6 as well. I've found a few resources regarding it.

Unfortunately I am not rooted so i can't use the second link, which is the best option. The first link seems to defeat the purpose of automation. I guess I need to accept defeat that it is not possible on the S6. :crying: Thanks for trying to help.
Are you willing to root it?
Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
No, if I root I will loose samsung pay, which I love. I just wonder what makes the S6 uncapable of having an app switch tethering.
Ahh ok, i understand. I dunno man, from my research all phones are different when it comes to tasker.

Only option left is to try NFC tags, ordered them can't wait to try and see how well they work.
NFC works a treat, I've used it in the past.

OnePlus 3 : What nowadays ?

Hello guys !
I talk for all OnePlus3's owners : you all know there were many many bugs : Call dropping, Call noise for the receiver, Wifi strength, random reboot, and many more...
Do you still have those kind of bugs and glitchs ?
Thank you for the answer,
Cheers.

I never experience all of this since i bought mine 3 months ago.
Signal is a crap. Most of the time having 3-4 bars (doesn't matter LTE or H+) in the centre of my city, where on HTC 10 I had LTE+ on full bars most of the time.
I have never had these issues at any point...
I've used the phone for about two months and never experienced any issue.
I use to have poor reception 2-3 months before after updates everything is working fine.
Works great for me on the stock ROM. all functional issues have been addressed in my opinion
Bad reception is usually a symptom of the user's location or country
No issues for me using it since the launch
No issue here... I don't use LTE or any other tho.
Netwrok signal all Time poor.. When i sent sms its need more time to send.. and Its very Weak for Get signal ??
Have had it since 9/12 and have had no issues. Reception on at&t is better than my old Op2 and just as good if not better than wife's iphone 6s.
No issues experienced on this phone since I got it.

Ive heard the same issues on my old phone.. signal just acts strange nothing u have to worry about with the OP3
Had mine since it was released and I haven't had a single problem with it, far from it. Every "common known bugs" you are mentioning are points where I'm saying the OP3 excels at. And when I recommend the phone to others the ONLY negative points I have is back camera lins poking out (a case fixes that), no sd card expansion (minor inconvenience) and that the battery isn't easily replaced (dash charge outbalance that).

Perhaps the HTC10 was overplaying the signal reading? TBH I don't take any notice of the bars as long as I can get a signal/make & receive calls, on that score I've never noticed any issues.
There's minor issues with the OP3 but none are real killers and there's still no better smartphone when it comes to value/performance.
Just wish OP would hurry up and explain properly what direction they intend taking the Oxygen OS.

Can't Download Apps from Play store on Mobile Network

Like the title says! It just stopped working after months of no issues. I have the T719, and have had no issues using T-Mobile LTE for everything, including getting apps from Play. But now it sits there for a long time and gives error 500 if I am on mobile data. Works fine on wifi. I have used almost 27 GB this month, but I wouldn't think TMO would block Google Play downloads? Any ideas? I've tried every fix I've found on the net: cleared data in all the relevant apps, removed and re-added my Google account, etc etc!!
Just went into the play store to update.
Pressed the update all button, it took ages for it to start updating .

Sometimes I will see the download arrow in the notification bar at the top, just for a split second, then it will disappear. Then it just sits there saying 'downloading' in Play store and eventually says could not download.

Things do tend to get more locked down over time, but I hope this continues working. They gotta let unlocked phones work, no? Yeah, as far as they know, that's what we have.
I finally downloaded an app over LTE! But it happened in another part of town, away from my home. So if I get home and it doesn't work again, I'll be scratching my head lol. Signal meter indicates similar strength both places.
