On video gaming reviews of A7000 ppl play high end games fluid smooth but i express lag even while browseing and scroll

This is strange. Although I don't play games, sometimes when I browse, I keep many tabs and heavy sites open and it runs very smooth. Currently I'm running this ROM

You can try it, the ROM is clean, no bloatware. Install only the app you like to test before anything else.

Please help me with my XXJW4.

Hi ! Have tried many, many ICS and stock Roms like Mandana, Simplicity, Amestris, etc., and while I really do highly appreciate the developers, I am not still getting what really I need - until XXJW4.
Its awesome ! ICS is the best but all the BUILDS have issues and after a couple of days makes me miss the GB stability. But why does XXJW4 lags ? Day one is great but after this the phone starts lagging as if the cpu in my phone is thinking before taking any action ! I have Semaphore kernel and even when I did not have it earlier ( have come back to XXJW4 4 times from ICS ) I still had suffered in the same way. But I really then don't know in this case which stable rom should I have ? I like the Facebook syn and like the Calender and camera in GB rom but it's slow and hangs at times ! Like when I swipe lockscreen to open at times the phone ' thinks' wheather it should open or not ! Pls help ! Can anyone make any suggestions ? Thx !

[Q] minicm7 or minicm9

I'm currently on a buggy minicm7 2.2.0. I'm suspecting the culprit of the bugs is my SD card(A2SD). I'm thinking of re-installing everything from scratch, but then again, there is the good looking minicm9 ics.
So my question is, should I upgrade to minicm9? (I don't have much time to check it myself for trial and error so I'm asking here for your opinions.)
Please convince me why should I do so. Are there any significant functionality that is available on cm7 that is not on cm9? Significant performance drop on games?(though I don't play on my x8 nowadays)
Thanks!
If u use ur pohone day to day and record videos or watch videos from youtube u should use MiniCm7 2.2.0
If not then MiniCm9 is ok if u supercharge it and install this add on http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649187
so it no flash support? Hmmm.. I guess it's fine...

Not Working:
HW Video encoding / decoding
Hi, I tried minicm9.. at first it was cool, even refreshing..
The UI feels revamped, system settings cleaned, messaging better, default launcher is beautiful and it really felt like wonderful..
But after some time of using it, I found it laggy, just opening drawer takes about 1 or 2 seconds, it often restarts, and it also restarts when I try to overclock to over 748MHz (this also happened in minicm7)..
I just felt down, I really like the new feel but the performance was not as good as minicm7, I really hope it gets to a point that it is at par with minicm7
i would suggest you stick with minicm7 2.2.0 cos the minicm9 is extrremely laggy, constant force closing, and its got a crazy battery drain.i flashed minicm9 but reverted to minicm7 cos of the bugs.i feel naa will be working on an update for the minicm9 with fixed bugs ,until then just stick with minicm7 cos most people are reverting to it already.
pls give me a thanks if its helpfull.cos i am a new member.so i can post more comments
I say go with cm9, I flashed it 2 days ago and Im loving it, yes it is not stable yet but it is quite ok, there is a bit lag but you can always install resized apps and v6 supercharger
If u need to use ur phone to watch video daily, either from your phone,or internet, then you should stick with MiniCM7,but if you want something new,try out MiniCM9,i'm using MiniCM9 right now,and i'm happy with it
Advantages of MiniCM9:
-Android 4.0 (ICS)
-Fast Wifi Connection (really2 fast)
-UI just like Galaxy Nexus ( i love it very2 much)
Disadvantages/bug of MiniCM9:
-video not working
-Speaker sound not so good, can use FIX from here : http://www.4shared.com/zip/2g7-UiU2/MiniCM9_Audio_Fix.html
-Quite laggy scrolling, can improve by flashing this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1649187
#as said above you can also use supercharged,i might do it later, but right now i can said it is table for daily use like sms, call, internet, listen to radio,etc...if you have problem in MiniCM9,don't forget to read FAQ first, hope this help you to decide

craaaaazy, ne?
(skip ahead to the end of the post)
MiniCM9 lags as hell, I'll keep the MiniCM7 until the 9 improves.
I personally dont go to ICS due limitations of our hardware. We will never can have full feature of ICSFace unlocked, for example
I had to revert to cm7 based rom...gingerdx to be specific because minicm9 is still laggy, it do not support games and freezes all the time. TO me the biggest culprit was the video playback..its only good enough to show it off to your friends. but im eagerly waiting for full working version...... And there is minicm10 out already.. Its lightweight and smooth..but Both ROMs are similar in performance. you can try it out as well.
Help me!!!

just flash the ROM kernel (nAa, JB, ICS,,,,) and flash the ROM by CWM
'what type of error?
minicm9 is and always will be laggy and slower than minicm7 due to hardware limitations so why bother i have tried almost every rom in here and all are the same at first they are fast and nice but after a while they become slower and laggy so i think a lost my hope

if still the 2nd post above me solution does not work, first flash to stock firmware, flash the gingerbread kernel (alfs, naa) first, format /system, /cache, /data, flash the ics kernel of naa, and again, format /system,/cache,/data, if still, maybe haven't installed the right drivers for your x8, so go into the root directory of your Flashtool then go to drivers, you can manually install the drivers required by your device there for sure
Cm7
I would suggest you to stay on Cm7 cause it is more stable, less laggy, better performances and battery life.
Tried both MiniCM7 and MinCM9 and I must admit ICS is not for our device..:crying:.It lags most of the time and is very unstable.....I would rather recommend MiniCM10 over MiniCM9 any day....:good:but MiniCM7 is bug-less, stable and is for daily use......:highfive:
I would recommend CM7 if you expect performance out of your phone..... but if you need to be on latest androids CM 10 is good.....
But CM9 is very less stable in x8 it keeps on hanging and apps force closes.... CM10 is much better.

Thank you for the post. I was going to post similar question regarding good choices for daily use and just found it.
Mini CM9 is my first try and here are some info on my experience:
I was long time planning using a custom ROM/Kernel and my first choice was Mini CM9, because of all of its features and beautiful look. As other users mentioned, it was running VERY good for a while (maybe the first 2 or 3 days after an install or new install). Anyway, every time (I reinstalled it twice) it gets laggy and I get a lot of "Not responding" messages (Trebuchet and other apps). I've even lost some calls because of "Phone Activity" freezing.
Plus, I could not use wirelless networks using a public hot-spot with sign-in needed. Wireless networks always worked good while using Stock ROM/Kernel, by the way.
CM9 seems to be a very good ROM but, considering my own experience, it should not be for daily use as it was not as stable as I was expecting.
I am preparing my X8 to install a more stable Kernel/ROM and, If you guys excuse me, I would to ask you about the Mini CM7 and GingerDX ROMs. Please, if you tried both or even GingerDX only, let me know how was it.
Thank you guys! I'll let you know about my new ROM/Kernel choice as soon as I decide which one to install.

[Q] Best rom for samsung galaxy note

After having a few ROMS tried out I am really sad. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note NT 7000 and its performance is not so tough and really unpredictable. Some games run well, but as for example the latest Gameloft's Modern Combat 3 and Nova 3 are laggy. MC 3 is choppy and Nova 3 just goes like slower than it should. Still believing this is not the phone's fault but the softwares I am hoping You could recommend the best firmare for samsung galaxy note that would be rootable. I ve seen some previews on youtube of people playing on their samsung glaxy note and it is much smoother than on mine. Please help me.
Grateful,

I watch the Youtube video in the Criskelo 5.1 ROM and I see some lags so I didn't try it. Try the Fruit and Ninja game to see how smooth it is.

I have franco r5 with franco updater that allows overclock to 1600 MHz. The quadrant score changes from 4000 at 1400 MHz to 4800 at 1600 MHz using Kingdroid v2 rom.
my current firmware
is KL3
I tried most of the custom rom and most always lag after few hours of use. Some random reboot, SOD. So now I'm on LQ2 stock with root. No more issue and everything work. It weird because I thought it supposed to be the other way around. Custom rom should run better then stock but it not the case for me.

i agree. i have flashed ics full repack by chainfire, lpy dbtel (germany), lpf (taiwan), lpy (poland) and now i am on lq2 uk/ireland and i have no more lags.
i am experiencing also sudden reboots with all custom roms, i gave up on all of them and went back to stock.
to not hide the fact i have few warez app installed could they be the reason for sudden reboots, or is it the too many widgets i have on my screens?
I also experienced sudden reboot with LQ2 with only root no franko or CF root kernels installed, although i did a backup restore after i installed the rom.
maybe its poweramp as someone mentioned that poweramp can cause sudden reboots

can you tell me where will i find LQ2 stock ics rom and + how do i flash it, i currently have goatrip ics rom based on xlpy , speedmod kernal,
I would heartily recommend the paranoid android ROM. I rooted my galaxy note and installed it following the instructions in the thread and its awesome.
Running GTA 3 and Mass Effect all with no problems at all. It really is as smooth as silk and turns the note into the device it should have been.

Kingdroid V4.4 with kernel speedmod 3.7 (or GL_Note core) is excel. CM9 based roms may not have all features (such as S pen). Why use a powerful phone with handicapped features.
Ok
And where can i download this mi... or kingdroid rom??

Paranoid Android is the rom that should came preinstalled on the galaxy note. Since the note is a hybrid device and paranoid android is a hybrid rom, it's a match made in xda heaven. I have a flashing addiction but can't seem to stay away from this rom. Can't wait until a jelly bean version comes out!
defiantly
KingDroid NoteMania V4 with S3 MOD v2
best best best best Rom until NOW :good:
i'm running Paranoid as well... one of the few Rom's i've found for the note that actually feel really right for it

[Q] samsung ace kernels for wifi, roms

so my question is about kernels.i download multiple roms and try them.each of this rom has unique problem and its really frustrating what to install on,to work for all what i need.i need more ram,i saw the post and tutorial and made exactly all steps.anyway, ofc it didnt work.i found some replay says about custom kernel.so,if i install any kernel, does affect on rom, does version of android stays same????any kernel can be installed to rom i have atm??i didnt found any answer about that.today im dealing all day with this on forum, checking all ower for answers and it driving me mad cause i still cant comment on some post and i really need it.cause of that im spanding hours for my ace to have all what i need. big internal memory, bigger size of ram working camera and no lag rom.you my think im spanding time for a sh1tty phone, well thats true.another question:is there any kernel(tweak)for wifi???i have ace and huawei in same room.ace wifi works just sux as much as he can, whatever rom i put on,wifi going still sux, disconecting etc on each rom i installed.my huawei phone also ****ty phone more than ace,the wifi works non stop at full signal, black market works fast, google play works fast.on ace black market works slow as snail on whatever rom i install, google play works normal,on some roms slow and lagy.so i saw comments about wifi.people said about router to configure, well its just stupid, cause i have 2 phones in my room and i see what is going on.simply, ace has most sh1ty wifi ever and modem has nothing to do,my 2nd room is 5meters away from modem, just 5 meters and ace cant handle, thats really lame.so,any solutions about that i would be really apriciated .
If you change kenrel, android version will remain same.
No disconnect issue with me..
On rom JB CM10.
I had experienced that problem in CM7 ROMS.
And you cannot install any kernel on any rom.
See compatibility.

Please post details so we can help you better:
-> what kind of error are you getting? "Cant connect to the camera?" or something else?
-> what model do u have ? 8gb or 4gb?
-> what version of cleankat did you flash?? (2.9, 4.0 or 4.1?)? and what recovery? TWRP, CTR or Philz? did u format everything before installing rom?
-> are you experienced with rooting, flashing roms, logcats, etc? or is this your first attempt? (asked coz only 1 post)
Am using the 8gb version .don't bother I have fixed it .but the Rom kind of not too good with closed module.after installing some modules .it becomes very slow in boot up..please kindly prescribe me to a good custom Rom.

I am currently using cleankat 2.9.2, i find it very good, lightweight although some specific apps lag on it (or maybe its just due to my "Old" device, of may 2014) This rom gives me 730MB free ram on bootup and almost >600 gb free ram on usual. Because i use no google apps (no play service play store maps gmail anything). gaming is also good enough on this rom, i've played Modern combat 5 and GTA san andreas laglessly. Thats all
if you want looks and stuff (light user/browsing etc) then u can go for MIUI or material UI by argn, their ROMs are very good and stable.
u can also wait for stable lollipop but it will be google powered and less free ram, smoother UI.
all the best and happy flashing
