I tested and it works.
You will need root and BusyBox
Have not tested with other than stock kernel.
How to install
Turn off your phone and boot into recovery.
Once your phone boots into recovery, navigate to install section and select*“ViPER4Android_2.5.0.5_guitardedhero.zip”.
Flash it and restart the phone.
When the phone turns on go to Play Store and install a file manager with root access. The best one is ES File Explore and Total Commander.
Open the File Manager and go to*/vendor/etc.Find*a file named*“audio_effects.conf”.*Delete this file or save somewhere just in case you want to revert back.
Now open Viper4Android on your device, and install the driver if it’s required.
Wait for the driver to finish installation and reboot the phone.
That’s all! You have successfully installed Viper4Android on Android 7.0 Nougat.

Driver wont install. Says can't gain root access. Didn't get a pop up to give it root access. Any ideas? Well set kernel to permissive and got past that part. Now have error saying no BusyBox... It's installed..

Nice and thanks

Just installed this and no issues so far. David H. Lite Stock 7.0 with systemless root and stock kernel.
Keep in mind that the driver will not install unless you move that file out of the /vendor/etc folder.

I'm on stock 7.0 without root/busybox. Is there not a way to install everything in recovery? I unrooted to play Pokemon Go. They started doing Safetynet checks to login... Stupidest thing ever.

This is probably the most powerful upgrade ever. I can't wait to do my Tablet install in my dash. Btw for people having issues saying it can't detect the root or SU, you have to switch your kernel to permissive. Use Kernel Auditor-Mod.

Go down to Misc. If it's not there, use This

Everything working 100% with factory image NBD90Z, SuperSU 2.78, Franco Kernel

If you switch to permissive anyway arise numbers 3.5 with dolby is a good choice too

I keep getting the following error: Driver install failed: I/O error, please reboot and try again. I am rooted, BusyBox, permissive selinux and on Tupac nougat, elemental x kernel, removed the file from vendor/etc. Any ideas?

SuperSU problem

SuperSU isn't working properly after worked before. Had trouble installing CWM, got it working. Tried to give file explorer root status, worked, but SU kept confirming the last operation by popup message. Now SuperSU fails when trying to "update the binary".
Tried uninstall cleaning from app and reinstall.
What can I do?
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Edit: I now understand that I lost root...
Will do a re-root...
Sent from my GT-N7000 using xda premium
Hmm, probl still applies after re-root attempt. SuperSU gives popup confirmations, but there is no real root acces. Both manual terminal emulator su command and root check app are negative.
Appreciate any suggestions.
LQ3, cwm in recovery is ok, as app cwm won't open, confirmed brick bug, followed latest instructions and used latest versions.

If you can't update the SuperSU binary it probably is because you have no room in your /system partition. To solve you'll need to delete a few system apps using TitaniumBackup (or similar).
A bit hard, since titanium also wants root access, which it has, but doesn't get! :-$

Checked now: the device memory has 0.93 GB free, USBStorage has 5.84 GB available and SD card has 17.47 available. Is your suggestion that there is no room in the /system partition then possible?
PROBLEM "update the binary".Superuser comes pre-installed on any rooted ROM. In fact, without it, you don’t have a rooted device at all. You cannot uninstall it, it lives on the system partition with other apps that came pre-installed on your device. It can be updated from the Market if the developer of your particular ROM has used a version that is signed with the proper keys, which are publicly available on github.
Installing Superuser isn’t somethng you would need to do under normal circumstances, but just in case here are the files needed:. Now download the package of the binaries... .

In his guide, Chainfire explained that doing so would mess things up... I think I have to wait and see if Chainfire picks up on this issue of mine... I think he is on vacation right now, so I probably have to wait a few weeks I'm not going to rush into anything here with the brick bug and all....
Well I wish you would have posted whatever did resolve the issue (if it was fixed). Because I'm having the same problem now with Super SU on Verizon Galaxy S3.
So I flashed a "superuser" and even that is doing the same thing. It never gives privileges.
Ugh.
No more root even after re-rooting.

SuperSU update issues
Jesus, after watching the n00b-video, I felt somewhat terrified of even posting, but here goes; I´m using an HTC One, European carrier, just bought it. Rooted, and now I have some weird issues with superSU.
The binary (?) update doesn´t work, and sometimes the phone goes out of root. This is often resolved by rebooting. I´ve tried a dozen forum posts, not just on this site, and I´ll be posting in the big superSu-thread also. My question is: WHAT DO I DO?? I´m not a total noob, just new to android and all this stuff. Plz help!

This is great I factory reset my Ouya and I have been having a hard time re installing the recovery and re-rooting my device will try this when i get home thanks.
My Micro USB port failed a while back and I'm still waiting for my replacement console from Ouya. I hope this gives me a way to get around the problem and enable wireless adb from the console. Can't wait to try it out tonight.
UPDATE: Totally worked. Now I have ADB again! Thanks a ton!
First thank you so, so much for this. After we have root how do we install a custom recovery (CWM), do we still need to use the adb methon on mybook4 custom recovery thread?

How do, I do that. I a noob with adb. I have it on my pc but it was used only as a test to see if I get it to recognize my tablets and phone. The only way I have installed CWM was generally by going into apx mode (similar to fastboot I think)and using a win.bat file. I could then watch on the tablet as every thing was installed.
Now that it's rooted could I use Rom Manager the only thing being I do not know which device to tell it I am installing CWM on.
BTW, i have install busybox. I used the busybox from my Asus TF700 which has the exact same tegra cpu and gpu, not sure how important that info is.
thanks for this great work from germany (rooting ouya with masterkey-exploit)
will test the new root.apk tonight...
questions:
does this masterkey exploit fixed in android 4.3 on nexus-devices?
very very thanks...

I used it yesterday and it installed superuser and I had to install busybox. I used dropbox to put jrummy's busybox installer apk on Ouya and then installed busybox. You will see a limited Rom Manager after install and it reminded me that you can use Rom Manager to flash CWM recovery but you need to know which device you are installing it on and Ouya is not listed as a compatible device. However, it does have Asus Transformer Infinity which I have owned for 8 months so I know a little about it. The Asus uses the same Nvidia T33 cpu and mali 400 gpu as Ouya. So I suppose some adventurous more knowledgeable person than me can try selecting the Asus Transformer Infinity when using Rom Manager and see if it will install CWM recovery. If someone does try please post back with the results.
Works like a charm. Used this to root my Ouya today. Afterwards installed busybox, and used the xposed mod for the play store. My Ouya is getting better and better bit by bit.
Thank you!

Touchwiz lollipop roms are special and don't work with the regular xposed framework. There is a workaround by arter97 that works as far as I know only for deodexed touchwiz roms:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/unofficial-xposed-samsung-lollipop-t3113463
Install first the xposed installer app (link provided in arter's thread, then flash xposed-v65-sdk21-arm-arter97-V5-generic.zip. However, as I said, presumably only running on deodexed roms.
Best, maris
Probably right. Peronsally I found lollipop to be actually downgrade rather upgrade.. So I'm rolling back to Kitkat. 4.4.2 is the best.
So, this is compatible with stock launcher?
Can someone repost the zip file. Thanks

Sorry, new to this in general but what purposes does xposed framework provide?

I am considering going back to KK because I miss the audio quality of V4A.
There is a version of v4a made for lollipop on the nexus 5 called lolliviper. Its a zip that needs to be flashed, so we should be able to flash this using fireflash.
I didnt make a backup before I flashed 5.0 so I'm hesitant try it. Maybe someone is brave enough to try for us and report back?

I installed a variation of the zip that i got from the OPO forums, it added some libs and changed a couple files and also added the viperaudio apk to priv-app, like it says in the thread, but i believe it was on older version, regardless it said the driver installed, and the option changed to uninstall driver implying it was, but i didn't notice much difference(didn't have much time to test though, bricked shortly after, unrelated) you can give it a shot though, it should work fine just do the first zip attatched, maybe the second, it says in the thread though that you NEED a permissive kernel so it working is doubtful.

You are correct. I read the thread and regardless of how V4A is installed, the end result is the same. We need SELinux to be permissive which appears to be currently impossible with our stock kernel.

multisystem for android ( found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/help/qa-multisystem-android-t3101217 ) says it supports selinux permissive mode, so perhaps we can use this to flash a rom to a secondary slot, enable permissive mode with selinux mode changed apk, and then follow the lolliviper instuctions to get viper back.
Ton of work for little reward but I really miss having viper.
I will try this method if and when I ever get a day off

The bottom line is that it's not gonna work. Doesn't matter which path we take the destination is the same.

I too have flashed the lolliviper using FireFlash
I have SELINUX permission changer still backed up. Installed it. Applied it. Moved the files to system. Installed the drivers...changed the build prop...froze the adapt sound and still no dice. To be honest I see zero reason to be on lollipop and will be downgrading this weekend back to Kit Kat. I miss viper, xposed, and battery life. Lollipop and material design is the biggest farce of an update ever foisted onto a user base since Windows Vista.

Android Pay after root?

I'm trying to get Android Pay to work after unlocking. I've tried Root Cloak module on Xposed, which solved similar issues on rooted phones in the past, but no luck.
I keep getting the error message below.
Any suggestions?

Just go to SuperSU and disable supersu. Then go to settings, app and open Android pay in all app tap. Then erase cache and data. Then open android Pay and tray the setting again.

If you use xposed this app doesn't work.

Follow the instructions at the end of this post: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=64199915
Essentially you have to flash unSU.zip to remove the current super user files, and flash the systemless supersu zip.
EDIT: Make sure you take a backup of your current ROM in TWRP, because I don't believe the systemless root has been tested on the turbo yet. If you want to wait a couple hours, I am planning on trying this out myself it a little while.

Systemless only work with SDK 23, it mean Android 6.0.

Its like Samsung saying that the system is modified. Payment doesn't work maybe because Google doesn't want to take liability for a modified rom doing something wrong.

Android pay won't work on any rom that is not CTS compliant. That means, Samsung, LG, OnePlus, Cyanogen OS, HTC, etc will work. Custom ROMs will not work.
You'll also need to disable root. I use SuperSU and just disable root when I need to use pay. Works just fine.

I guess it's hit and miss. I'm on stock, bootloader unlocked, and I've tried it by disabling root - even uninstalled SuperSU and cleaned the cache in TWRP. I figured it's TWRP or that it's unlocked.
Is Xposed installed too?
