Has anybody tried kingroot to root their phone yet? Was hoping for a simple way to root lol
Why bother? Phone is RIP. You should be replacing or returning it. IMEI will be blacklisted soon.

Me think that's exactly why he wants to root, so am I.
What would Kingroot gain you? It's a temporary, unstable root, if it will work at all. Do you like having the Chinese snoop around on your phone?

Just got a brand new N3 yesterday, and it came preloaded with MJ5. I see that I can use Kingo but have been some shady things on it. Can I somehow get back to MI9 so I can use RDLV? Or is there some other way to do RDLV on MJ5? Thanks!
I rooted MJ5 with kingo. I did read rumors of kingo sending your IMEI to servers. Before I rooted I asked myself a couple of questions, what can people really do with my IMEI? Yeah sure, somebody can use it to activate a stolen phone. Why do I care? Can that blacklist my phone? As far as I know only the owner can blacklist a phone. Just like only the owner can get it off the blacklist.
So I didn't care and used it. It worked like a charm. I personally think all those malicious rumors were started by XDA developers, that were mad because they couldn't figure out how to do it themselves and the kingo developers wouldn't share how they did it.
I also read a thread were somebody posted the kingo terms and user agreement. The terms states, that no information will be sent anywhere. Now why would they violate their own terms and put themselves in a situation where they can get sued?

newbie insight
I would follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2559715 to get root if you already have mj5 you can start from step 5 and from their if you follow steps you should have root after you all done.
yeah use what alex1216 told you. thats how i rooted mine. it takes longer than kingo, but at least its safe.
I rooted my ls995zva using king root (because that is the only one that would work). I have chainfire su installed. I use freedom flex to install twrp. On 4.4.2
Now that's out of the way. Here's my issue. When I open up SuperSU it says that the binary needs updated. I have tried both the normal and the twrp method but to no avail. I have rebooted into recovery and tried finding the file myself but can't. I have downloaded an update manually and flashed in recovery. It says successful but at reboot my supersu app is gone. On top of that, I get fickle root access with king root. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you for reading.

I used brute force/stump root method on my LS995, no problems, complete root access and updated twrp/su.
I don't have any experience with king root.
Off topic.... Are you the same Desertio from oneplus forums?
No update?.......
Yes I am. Why do you ask?

Name looked familiar....
I smashed the screen on my oneplus one, went back to the flex while waiting for the Two. I decided to stick with the flex for a while , but slightly disappointed about the lack of development on the flex especially when the one had so many options.
Did you leave the One?
Did you figure out your root access?
I still have the one as my backup. But my primary is the flex. The size and some of the lg apps are wonderful. Really wish the venom team would come and develop for lg. Lol. My root is spotty at best. Some apps I have to open 6 or 7 times before they're given root access. Now I'm faced with the daunting zvb update. Last time I downloaded it and flashed it my phone was useless for 3 days. I had to reflash factory stock from my computer and start all over.

I'm sticking with my flex because of durability at work.... Lol.
I'm on ZVA and brute force/stump root worked, which was over in the lg g2 section. I haven't updated with root because it seems to brick phones.
I have tried to get some devs over here but no takers, so if you know anyone interested.... I wouldn't even mind paying for someone's time, especially a cm port.
I have a samsung G900AUCU3BOC4 5.0, can it be rooted? And how?
Also, if it can't be rooted, is it possible to change my firmware to tmobile? I changed my carrier to tmobile a while back, but my firmware is at&t.

You've been going around the att forums saying it's possible to root starting from 5.0, it isn't, unless you have solid proof it is stop misleading people.

It's not possible, I assume they mean ping-pong root which won't work.

I'm not talking about the app. I was talking about the root binary. Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/aquos-crystal/general/temp-root-306sh-t3129456. Just use the root file. You can also use King root because it uses the same exploit.

So that will work? Also, kingo root gives me an error saying root unsuccessful after it reboots my phone and vibrates 3 times.

That is still not going to work on "THIS" phone with "THIS" lollipop bootloader.
I think you are mixing what worked on other phones (maybe s5) with this particular s5. I'm pretty sure a dev has already thought of and tried that, and if it really worked, you would have been heard about it.
Correct I have the att variant of s5 with 5.1.1 and sadly no root on it as of yet, I can say that kingroot team is researching it as it is close to the top of list for people requesting research, hopefully they will figure it out soon if you happen to have the att variant of s5 and have not gone up to 5.0+ yet then i suggest that you do not do so otherwise your going to have no root and no way to get it yet.
King root
My phone is -
SM-G900A AT&T
Lollipop 5.0 G900AUCU3BOC4
I just used KINGROOT king481.apk
It did take a while and at the ATT splash screen it stop for a few minutes.
Next it rebooted three times........ Root Checker now says it is Rooted.
I have rebooted and turned the phone off 5 times without issue.
Also Titanium Backup Pro installed detecting that the phone was now rooted.
I hope this helps

Could you post the apk? This could be ground breaking if did indeed work.
I recently (without knowing what I was doing or getting in to) rooted my LS995 G Flex running 4.4.2 with the Kingroot one-click root program. THen discovered that Pokemon Go has security preventing rooted phones from accessing the servers... I need to UNroot my phone and restore it to a pre-root state without doing a factory reset. I'd prefer not to lose any data if possible. I need to get Pokemon Go to see my phone as NOT rooted so I can get back to playing the game. If someone could help me out with a detailed, step-by-step process for undoing the Root, I'd REALLY appreciate it. I know nothing about rooting, programming, flashing a phone, other than I downloaded an app that rooted my phone for me... Thanks everyone!
Word of advice. You don't have to unroot your phone. They are applications that can hide the root from your game. Dig around on the Forum and you will find it. I don't remember off hand the name of that but if you Google it you will find it. Good luck

So...I guess it technically works. I flashed this linked file with modified version of Odin then ran root.bat. Samsung phone info app says i have root and i even get the prompt to deny or grant access to apps but have yet to actually get one of the apps requiring root to open. Flashfire has been sitting on loading for about 10 minutes now. One thing for sure is, it is SUPER laggy. I.don't recommend it. Not worth it in my opinion, ill probably go back to MM if i want root.
There was "Onion root" for 6.01 in the T-Mobile area. Has anyone tried that? Will it work for this Nougat test kernel?

Onionroot is just an automated process to flash the engboot.
https://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-s7-edge/how-to/root-method-nougat-t3566978
buggy bout the same as mm
I guess if someone required payment we can consider it lol
But please ......
Could someone consider providing a full system dump from AT&T Galaxy S7 Edge with N ?
I'm told that this should be able to be done without root using a root explorer app or with an abd pull command
We would greatly appreciate the files in order to get VoLTE and proper CSC for our SM-935F devices!
We do not have proper CSC
Thank you!!!!
I knew from beginning this was a BS post to gain thanks etc his account is disabled any moderator please disable and delete these threads he made in s7 news and here.
Root without an unlocked bootloader ends with N. The wise saw this coming. I doubt anyone will "leak" the tools to unlock bootloader. I'm staying on MM with exposed and lucky patcher.

im rooted using n eng kernel
I just ran across this root method which appears not to use the engboot and apparently works on the AT&T SGS7 edge. I have yet to read the rest of the thread, but it has been mentioned in a couple Android sites.
