How ?

You need to reflash the P9 again... except in the dload folder you put both the update.app and the META.INF files....
Read one of the XDA flashing threads or..
Do a Google search for "Huawei P9 Hard Reset"

Wrong flash after un-branding

Good Morning,
Yesterday in the attempt to unbrand my P9+ VIE-L09 and correct the S.N to C432 i figured out that the zip that has to be flashed is for the EVA-L09 (oeminfo-huawei-p9-eval09-c432.zip) but only after flashing. Now my phone can boot the firmware but no radio is working, I already tried to reflash with the SD Method the correct .APP firmware but the phone stop to 5% and giving an error regarding an incompatibility problem.
actually i can boot the phone, go to original recovery or twrp, boot in fastboot mode.
how can i do to reinstall the correct VIE-L09 firmware on the phone?
thanks in advance for your help

What firmware did u have originaly on your phone before u unbrand it? Your phone is bricked because u flashed a firmware for P9 and not P9 Plus.

Try this, its the stock firmware for TIM Italy.

Thanks A lot Mostar088 for your help and for the link to the official TIM italy firmware.
Actually the phone won't install the firmware because of the wrong oeminfo flashed at the start. By the way, I found a solution to bring the phone to life again and I will write a small guide ASAP to help other Users.
here follow a small summary of the step i follow:
The actual solution was to flash trough TWRP the correct oeminfo.img to the phone, then wipe data, cache & dalvik, after that, I powered off the phone, inserted an SD card with the NO BRAND VIE-L09 B160 Firmware (UPDATE.APP) and restarted the phone with the volume+ and volume- pressed togheter
finally the phone accepted the update and restored the correct firmware on the phone, now it works everything and I have a stock unbranded P9+ with the correct SN (VIE-L09C432B160)
Thanks a lot again for the help,
I will post the solution and the correct files ASAP.

Stuck in Oreo C636

Hi, i need to rollback oreo c636, but the rollback firmware is not signed, i tried the guide in this forum, but i can't flash the rom because i only have 2 files, and if i modified the hwota_update with notepad, i get an error in twrp, so now i'm kinda ****ed, no rollback and also no original recovery.
How long i need to wait for b172 rollback for signed? there is another way? i need to give the phone to someone, no real hurry but he pays for the phone, so i just want to put l29c432 back.
Sorry for my english, thank you
Hi mate, in order to downgrade to Nougat you have to use the Guides below. (That's what I used myself when I fxxxed up)
Read them carefully, understand them and then proceed.
If you can not access MTP folder on your phone from TWRP just copy the files into a SD card, after flashing TWRP for OREO.

I returned to stock by rebranding my GR3 2017 from PRA-LA1 to PRA-LX1

i want to share my story, maybe it will help someone
I flashed HassanMirza01's Elite ROM using Elite TWRP and forgot to backup my partitions (very dumb move), and when i tried to return to stock using the dload method i couldn't, i even tried flashing the extracted partitions from UPDATE.APP using fastboot and it also didn't work, i was stuck because my OEMinfo partition was overwritten by the ROM so i tried to restore this Full Backup because it was for PRA-LA1C185 (same as my device), it worked but it caused me problems, i couldn't make calls and couldn't use the camera, and my boot screen changed from HUAWEI to HONOR, it turned out that GR3 2017 and Honor 8lite are both PRA-LA1C185 but the firmwares are different, so i kept looking for an OEMinfo backup for my GR3 so i can restore it and return to stock using eRecovery and i found this Thread that contains OEMinfo backups for LX1C432 (P8lite 2017) and LA1C185 (honor 8lite) but nothing for GR3 2017 (that is also LA1C185), soo i tried flashing honor8lite OEMinfo using Elite TWRP then i tried to return to stock using eRecovery but it gave me an error, then i tried OEMinfo for LX1 and flashed stock recovery over TWRP, then went into eRecovery and it worked, it started downloading stock PRA-LX1C432B160 and after booting everything worked great and i even recieved the PRA-LX1C432B194 update immediately, and now my phone says it is P8 lite 2017 (instead of GR3 2017) in Settings>About
What i learned :
1- DLOAD METHOD NEVER WORKS
2- ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR OEMinfo PARTITION SO YOU CAN RETURN TO STOCK USING eRECOVERY
3- ALWAYS BACKUP YOUR BOOTLOADER UNLOCK CODE BECAUSE WHEN YOU FLASH OEMinfo PARTITION THE PHONE WILL LOCK AND YOU CAN'T EVEN BOOT TO GET YOUR SERIAL NUMBER and EMEI TO UNLOCK IT
If you are in the same situation as me, follow this Tutorial made by @Youssef Reda who had the same problem with the same phone.
And if nothing works, use DC Phoenix software (not free) to force flash the stock UPDATE.APP, it works even if the bootloader is locked and FRP is locked.
Happy to help :highfive:

Yes it works, but back up your original OEMinfo, and then restore pra-lx1 OEMinfo from the link in OP
Ps: if you can, upload your backup of OEMinfo so we can all use it to return to GR3 2017 stock

I don't know about original pra-la1 eRecovery because i never tried it, i tried honor 8lite OEMinfo and it gave me the same error.
But pra-lx1 I'm sure it works because i tried it
It is weird that we can't use our original OEMinfo to restore but we can use European OEMinfo

[closed] full oreo update package with dload folder method ?

Hi there
I'm on B361 (oreo) and like to update to B367 (approved for my model).

Thank you. I saw this thread but I'd like to update without installing twrp...
I had it in the past but huawei is such a mess and twrp/root so risky that I prefer to stay stock.
I think I have to force the update because huawei does not like phones used in country different than the one where it was bought. One more boring thing with huawei. I don't have such problems with samsung.

You can unlock bootloader with DC Unlocker but you need to pay 4 Euro
I updated using HuRupdater. Strange is that I downloaded B367 and in phone settings it shows B369....

P10 rebranding

Hello I'm the proud owner of a VTR-L09 P10 with the oreo based VTR-L09 8.0.0.364(c530) firmware and an unlocked bootloader. I have tried many tutos across the internet but I still can't downgrade it to nougat in order for rebranding to VTR-29.
Can someone with matching conf or a close one who has succeeded in rebranding can help me with a working tuto.
Thanks in advance and....
HAPPY NEW YEAR !!!!
First, you twist nougat and Oreo. Your phone is on Oreo and you wanted to downgrade to Nougat.
I don't know, why the downgrade didn't work for you, but maybe now it does with the correct understanding of versions (nougat is the older one).
If you're a bit experiment friendly, you can try something for me - but I really can't guarantee you that this will work without brick!
You need an SD card for this, don't try it without!
- Download your desired firmware from Firmware Finder. I recommend 8.0.0.382 for L29-C432, which I installed on my rebranded P10 yesterday.
Here are the links:
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G2323/g1699/v202186/f1/full/update.zip
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...l/VTR-L29_hw_eu/update_full_VTR-L29_hw_eu.zip
http://update.hicloud.com:8180/TDS/...86/f1/full/public/update_data_full_public.zip
- Download my oeminfo file and put it on SD.
- Download and flash this TWRP. It will ask you for a password at boot, type your phone PIN.
- Backup your oeminfo with TWRP on SD AND internal memory, just to be sure.
- Now flash my oeminfo file with TWRP via Install/Use Image.
- Go to my guide and follow now Tutorial #2, Oreo to Oreo, exactly. You can use the TWRP version you already installed, but everything has to be like in the tutorial.
It should work, but, as I mentioned above, I can't guarantee it.
The worst thing which can happen is that you brick your firmware. For this, you should be able to reinstall an L09 firmware after restoring your oeminfo file via eRecovery.
But I think the recovery will stop installing L29 if it didn't work with the oemfile - if so, you just need to restore the oeminfo backup.
Don't boot into your L09 firmware with L29 oeminfo!
