P9 Plus missing "BOKEH EFFECT"??? - Huawei P9 Plus Questions & Answers

Hi,
I just get P9 plus yesterday. I had regular P9 few months ago and there was button in camera app for BOKEH EFFECT (wide aaperture effect) but on P9 plus I can not find it. Also on P9 I had option to change icons and there is no thet option on plus model.

In normal camera mode tap on aperture icon (2nd from left at top of screen) and you can then control DoF, works well

you can refer to the user manual page 8 on Wide Aperture Photos to see where it is:

Edit: you can also find the online preview of the features which teaches you how to access them:

Dual Photo Capture (AI + non-AI)

I got my wife the Honor 10, and noticed that there is an AI button in the gallery where you can see a photo with AI effects or without.
Is this feature available on our P20 Pro? Is it part of any future update?

Need help to find missing options in stock camera - Pie Ui

Hi i'm from india, recently updated from oreo to pie officially.
But after upgrade i missed some important features in camera like video recording in pro mode, and beautification (like 3 diamond icon in oreo) option.
In beautification mode, we find separate sub mode for females and males for perfect selfies but now in pie i didn't find this option.
Can any body show me where these settings hidden. how can i enable it.
Thanks
They removed recording video in pro mode. I don't know how's it even possible and who approved it but they completely destroyed camera with pie update. You can use 3rd party apps, but all working apps are paid. And these apps aren't cheap.
I've noticed a downward trend in photo modes and its options since S7edge days.

I never saw such a bad quality on P20 Pro. If you really want to take 40mpx photos, you should use Pro mode anyway, and change the focus area to wide to capture a detailed photo, otherwise by default(in any mode) the focus point is in the center, looking for a person/object. But even with default it should be a lot more clear. Be sure to update your phone using HiSuite for PC and reset the camera app. Best pictures are at 10mpx because it captures more light and they are downsampled from 40mpx. Also,at 40mpx it only uses the 40mpx RGB camera. Use photo mode for normal pictures, night mode for low light if you don't enable master AI,and Pro mode for more control. Be sure to understand all the settings, especially focus modes. Your picture was in a low light environment, you should have sticked to 10mpx,or Pro mode(but at 40mpx some settings are not there because like I said,it does not use all the cameras)

HiSuite say im using newest official update clt-l29 9.0.0236 (C432E5R1P9)(official version)
i made hard reset and roll back to 8.0 and didint help , also cleared cache/app date
can someone put photo from p20 pro in similar conditions ?
The 40MPix mode is amazing if you want to a) capture most of details and b) if you want to play with photo in Snapseed or PSe for example. I use is because it doesn't do HDR, that CAN be too aggressive when 10mpix is enabled. Can you share this photo somewhere else, because zippy share is overflow with advertisment.
Jpeg from raw
For example - jpeg made from raw in pro mode, edited in lightroom mobile.
EDIT: ooops, xda scrambled quality...
Btw I do not see a problem in your photo. If you zoom 100% of course, the photo will not be sharp nor pleasant to see, but 40MPixs can surely be printed for example on A2 and look gorgeous (in fact, everything >12MPix will). The point is, you took picture against the sun, that means it had to deal with huge amount of direct sunlight, that's probably the reason the grass and mud is so... well... not sharp. It's partly simple optics and party too agressive postprocessing.

P30 Pro camera issue: Purple tint. Samples attached

Hi, i am trying to figure out if there is an issue with my Huawei P30 Pro's camera or is it a product/manufacturing fault. I was wondering if a few of the P30 Pro owners could post the following:
- An image taken per instructions below
- Market the phone is manufactured for
Depending on the outcome I can then take it up with Huawei in case it's a product/manufacturing issue. Thanks
How to take an image to recreate the issue
- Switch to Pro mode on camera
- Place the camera on a surface so that there's no light getting to the lenses
- Make sure you are not on Wide or Zoom modes
- Change the shutter speed to 125 (ISO will automatically be set to 6400)
- Take a photo
- upload it here
I have attached a few sample photos below to showcase the issue.
Mine is total black.
Did exactly what you said.
P30 Pro 256gb Aurora Power
Its normal, on high ISO you get wrong colors if you push the dark parts too much. Any because its compensating for vignetting the corners are pushed more.

Question Night mode on video

I just received my x90 pro plus, and i playin with the cameras but i can't find something that i saw review in the x80 pro and i assume that this X90 Pro Plus got it too.
That is night mode durin video, i see nigh mode but only for photos, and i don't see anmy icon of night mode while i am at the video option.
It activates by his own, there is a setting maybe, or this x90 pro plus doesn't have it?
Thanks
You need to go to settings in video and turn on smart notification for video, then when you are in video mode and the camera detects it is dark (put your hand over the lens) it will give you an icon to the left of the shutter button of a moon and star, tap that and it will go into night mode, it doesn't work in 4K 60, works in 4K 30
Thanks, that's it, got another question if you don't mind. I can't make it work notification on the lock screen with or without password. I mean show basic icon or details, I had to unlock the phone. Just try several settings but not luck.
I add a photo if it is some use to you.
