I set the Xposed app to install via manual flash because the other two methods kept freezing my phone. But I can't find the zips! Can someone please tell me where they are supposed to be and where they might be if they're not there? My device is a Samsung Galaxy S2 HD LTE (SM-i757M) on 4.0.4.

When you say "on 4.0.4" do you mean that is your android version? If so, you don't flash Xposed, you have to use the older apk version of Xposed

I have to flash it, the "Classical - Write to /system" and "Auto-flash" modes don't work. I know you have to flash it on Lollipop and above - I've already done that with another phone. but on this one I need to flash it using the apk. I just can't find where the app put the zip for me to flash manually.

Omg m8. I INSTALLED THE APK. The "Classical" install method and the "Recovery (Automatic)" install methods DO NOT WORK. There is also a "Recovery (Manual)" method. The app WRITES A ZIP TO THE INTERNAL STORAGE. Then you FLASH THAT ZIP. I cannot FIND that zip. That's what I asked for help with. As I said, I know you don't normally flash Xposed with a zip unless you're on Lollipop or above. I've been doing this for a long time, dude. I just can't find the zip the app wrote to the internal storage, and the app doesn't have a way to find out. Jeezus.

It freezes during the install, but if you leave it for long enough it complains that it couldn't mount /system as rw even though it has root permissions and other apps can mount it as rw (I used ES File Explorer to delete some sounds and it worked fine.) As for the automatic flash method, it just never reboots. I guess calling the reboot action is just incompatible with my phone and/or ICS. Or maybe Philz Touch doesn't support it? I can't be sure.

Dear friends,
I own a razr i, initially on retail GB, with unlocked bootloader.
Tried to root, verified with various apps and seemed ok.
Unfortunately, supersu wouldn't update, lucky patcher said that root is not done, and in general, any app which needs root to work, wouldn't work for me.
I then installed the latest retail EU ics (81.5.40002.xt890.retail.en.eu), rerooted with all the possible ways through win7 and mac, but i still get the same error messages.
Any ideas why?

You need the update-binary from the RAZR i, they use the ARM7 binary for that flashable zip. Any OTA update or flashable for the RAZR i has this file.

Hi, I was trying to install viper4android on my device. The application is installed successfully, but I can't install drivers. After reboot the app asks me again to install drivers. I also tried to get stock android lockscreen deleting HTC lockscreen.apk. Successfully deleted, but present again after reboot. Should I need s-off to do that? With other models I did this without s-off. Indeed with soft reset, I get the Android stock lockscreen, but with a complete reboot I get the sense one again. Any idea or I just have to wait for a way to s-off?

You need TWRP recovery
Take backup (you'll never know what can happen)
Boot into recovery > mount > pick system
go back to the main menu, advanced > file manager
You'll find HtcLockScreen.apk and HtcLockScreen.odex in system/priv-app
I deleted them and voilĂ ! No more sense 6 Locksreen, stock android.

There was somewhere in the official thread in the faq a question like "i can't install it anyway? Then try with the flashable zip", it's the same zip that I posted.. Sorry, I'll give you the right link as soon as I find it... but as you solved it anyway, how did you do it?
After I repaired my phone, I never would like to use this app.
And then installed v4a? As normal app?
No, after this repair I was happy that my phone works again. Until there is no official ROM that I can flash or where I can extract the original files, I do not make any change on my phone again!
Confirmed - it's a problem caused by HTC's system write protection. Liberty Kernel solved the issue with viper4android.
But you need a new kernel. With the Android rSAP App you can create a flashable driver ZIP, I think this is the better way to install drivers for an App. They also create a uninstall ZIP.

I couldnt find drivers for v4a, i reflashed stock kernel after installing drivers, the problem was indeed system write, no incompatiblity or stuff like that the app is now installed and finally fully working!
I am happy with the write protection, because you never know, what the "driver installation" changed on your system. In a zip I can take a look about the modification and for example with the rSAP app I KNOW, that I can deinstall all modifications. But I dont know anything about Viper4Android. So I have to look for another DSP manager ...

Just did that. I do not have root access according to root checker. before i installed xposed it said i was rooted. I was able to restore it in recovery from a backup i did. any Idea how I can get this going. I really just want to root to use the Dot View Case Hack.

Open supersu. Is xposed listed under apps? If no, then just reinstall the xposed app. To install your module, go to http://repo.xposed.info/module-overview, search for dot view hack, download and install it. In xposed you supposed to activate your module and do a reboot. Finish!

Ok. So I DL the xposed app and installed it. I select framework then Install/Update and reboot, when i power it back on and open it says the following message
"app_process version 58 has been installed previously but version "---" was found now. If you didn't expect an old file to be restored, you might want to try installing via recovery auto or manual"
Should it say this?

Ok, so, I got my phone updates, however, I had systemless xposed working on it, MM 6.0.1 (MOB30M) however when I went in to try and enable the modules, it gave an error (a long one) so I thought that maybe I didn't have the correct version installed, or wasn't rooted right, so I went back into recovery, re-rooted, and installed 85.3, now it says that xposed isn't installed at all. was the systemless updated to work with the new security measures built into the update? You have to remember that with each update google is making things like xposed harder to get working. It is well known that sooner or later xposed all together will no longer be an option.
So I would check all the changes that the update did to see what it changed. I nor most the people I know have not used xposed in a long time so I really cant say for sure
